Abstract

A B S T R A C TBeneficiation of low-grade gold and silver ores were investigated by gravity concentration flotation methods. The ores were obtained from Way Kanan Region and Mount Burhan in Province of Lampung. In this study, gravity concentration in sluice box and flotation were performed in sequence. Effect of particle size was investigated in gravity concentration by sluice box. Furthermore, effect of various parameters in flotation operation such as concentration of collector, ore particle size, and processing time were studied. Gravity concentration in sluice box indicated that the highest recovery of gold and silver were 76.52% and 94.83%, respectively when using ore particle size of 100+150 mesh. Flotation experiments showed that the maximum recoveries of gold and silver obtained were 98.33% and 86.42%. The conditions to obtain maximum recovery in this study were -100+150 mesh of ores particle size, 25 mL/kg concentration of collector, and 25 minutes of processing time.Keywords: beneficiation; flotation, gold ore; silver ore; sluice box.A B S T R A KBenefisiasi bijih emas dan perak kadar rendah menggunakan konsentrasi gravitasi dengan palong dan menggunakan flotasi telah dilakukan. Bijih emas dan perak yang digunakan berasal dari daerah Way Kanan dan Gunung Burhan di Provinsi Lampung. Pada penelitian ini, konsentrasi gravitasi dengan palong dilakukan terlebih dahulu sebelum dilakukan benefisiasi menggunakan flotasi. Pengaruh ukuran partikel dipelajari pada konsentrasi gravitasi dengan palong. Sedangkan pengaruh beberapa variabel seperti konsentrasikolektor, ukuran partikel, dan waktu flotasi dipelajari dalam proses benefisiasi menggunakan flotasi. Pada konsentrasi gravitasi dengan palong, hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa persen recovery emas dan perak tertinggi secara berturut-turut adalah 76,52% dan 94,83% ketika digunakan ukuran partikel -100+150 mesh. Pada proses flotasi, hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa persen recoveryemas dan perak maksimum yang diperoleh adalah 98,33% dan 86,42% ketika digunakan ukuran partikel -100+150 mesh, konsentrasi kolektor 25 mL/kg dan waktu flotasi 25 menit.Kata kunci: benefisiasi; emas; flotasi; palong; perak

Abstract

Desulphurization process can improve the quality of coal and reduce the environmental pollution. In this study, the method used for desulphurization process was a leaching method using wuluh starfruit extract as a leaching agent. Starfruit extract obtained by grinded, filtered and extracted the starfruit solution. Coal was crushed by using a grinding ball mill, sifted to obtain samples of 80 mesh, 120 mesh, and 150 mesh. Coal was added with starfruit extract, heated on a hotplate stirrer at a temperature of 110oC, 300 rpm of stirring speed and 3, 4 , 5 hours of leaching time. Leachate solution were analyzed using XRF test. The results of the study showed that 80, 120 and 150 mesh could produce 1.777%, 1.556% and 1.053% of sulfur, respectively. Maximum decrease of sulfur occurred in 150 mesh with 5 hours of leaching time which could reach 0.261% of concentration. Ash content also could decreased from 11.43% to 6.18% and fixed carbon content from 42.15% rose to 51.33%. The desulphurization process using starfruit extract was influenced by the grain size of the coal and the contact time of leaching. The finer the grain size of the coal and the longer the leach contact time, the smaller the sulfur content obtained in the coal after the desulfurization process was carried out

Palembang: Unsri Press. A The use of basalt dust as a stone meal in Indonesia is still rarely found, while basalt has enormous potential as a fertilizer that is rich in micro and macro nutrients needed by plants especially in the treatment of soil amelioration. Development of complete organic fertilizer enriched with minerals is also very necessary. This study aims to determine the potential of basalt dust on soil ameliorants to changes in acidic soil pH in sub-optimal land. The experiments is carried out on the soil which is given basalt dust treatment in a test column with incubation treatment on a pot. Design experiments uses the orthogonal array L16 taguchi, with parameters of the percentage of basalt weight of organic fertilizer (A) 0, 10, 30, and 60%, the weight of organic fertilizer as much as (B) 5, 20, 35, and 50 tons/ha, and high water immersion (C) 100 and 300 mm. Experiments were carried out on soils treated with basalt dust in a test column with incubation treatment for 3 months and then the change in pH was measured using a pH meter PHT-027. Based on ANOVA analysis it is known that the weight percentage of basalt powder has the most significant effect on changes of soil pH. While the amount of water soaking have less significant effect on changes of soil pH. To obtain the optimum pH change can be used 60% basalt mixture by organic fertilizer,  application of fertilizer are 20 tons/ha, and watering 100 mm.Keywords: anova, basalt, micronutrient dan macronutrient, taguchi

Abstract

Zeolite alam merupakan batuan mineral yang banyak terdapat di Indonesia. Zeolite alam merupakan kristal alumino silikat yang memiliki banyak kegunaan dalam bidang industry, agrikultura, dan pengolahan air limbah. Melalui proses aktivasi zeolite akan mampu meningkatkan aktivitas dari zeolite alam tersebut. Aktivasi zeolite alam dilakukan secara kimia dengan menggunakan larutan HCl dan NaOH pada variasi konsentrasi 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5 M. Selanjutnya zeolite tersebut dianalisa menggunakan XRD dan XRF. Berdasarkan hasil XRD, kandungan utama zeolite alam adalah mordenite. Sedangkan hasil XRF menunjukkan senyawa silika (SiO2) dengan perlakuan asam (HCl) berada dikisaran 75-76% sedangkan dengan perlakuan basa (NaOH) berada dikisaran 72-73%. Proses perlakuan asam pada zeolite alam menyebabkan terjadinya penurunan kandungan Ca dan Mg pada zeolite.
