Abstract

Ransum dapat dinyatakan berkualitas apabila mampu memberikan seluruh kebutuhan nutrien secara tepat, baik jenis, jumlah, serta imbangan nutrien bagi ternak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh bentuk dan lama penyimpanan terhadap kandungan protein kasar dan serat kasar pada ransum komplit. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan pola faktorial yang terdiri dari 2 faktor diantaranya faktor A (Betuk silase ransum komplit) yaitu : silase, pellet dan blok; faktor B (Lama penyimpanan) yaitu 0, 1 dan 2 bulan, setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Hasil analisis ragam menunjukkan bahwa bentuk silase ransum komplit tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05), Namun lama penyimpanan memiliki pengaruh yang nyata (P<0,05), ini membuktikan bahwa tidak ada interaksi yan terjadi antara bentuk ransum komplit dengan lama penyimpanan terhadap kandungan protein kasar, akan tetapi jika dilihat pada kandungan serat kasar terdapat interaksi yang terjadi pada bentuk ransum dan lama penyimpanan. Hasil penelitian ini diperoleh kandungan protein kasar berkisar antara 10.79% -13,86% yang tertinggi pada penyimpanan 0 bulan dan kandungan serat kasar yaitu 14,24% -18,93% yang tertinggi pada penyimpanan 2 bulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa semakin lama penyimpanan ransum komplit maka kandungan protein kasar akan semakin menurun dan kandungan serat kasar akan semakin meningkat. Silase ransum komplit dalam semua bentuk masih mempunyai kualitas yang baik pada penyimpanan 2 bulan

Abstract

Preservation of forage with silage method has been widely practiced by farmers, one of the factors that influence the success of making silage is the addition of additives, such as molasses. However, molasses is not available in all regions. For that we need a material that can be an alternative substitute for silage, namely granulated sugar, besides having nutritional value that is almost the same as molasses, sugar also contains water soluble carbohydrate (WSC) which is easily utilized by lactic acid bacteria as an energy source during the ensilage process. This study aims to determine the effect of molasses and sugar levels on pH values and dry matter of elephant grass silage. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications, namely P1: control, P2: Molases 4%, P3: Sugar 4%, P4: Molases 6% and P5: 6% sugar. So that the total sample unit is 15 units and one unit of fresh material samples. Samples were analyzed in the laboratory to determine the pH value and dry matter of silage. The results showed that the administration of sugar additives at the level of 4% in silage had the same quality as silage which was given molasses at the level of 4%. However, at the level of 6% silage which is given molasses it has better quality than silage which is given sugar. This shows that granulated sugar can be used as an alternative to molasses in making silage.

Abstract

Abstract. As a center for soybean production, scarcity of quality soybean seeds at the farmer level is a limiting factor in manifesting food self sufficiency in Bulutellue Village. Therefore, this activity aims at increasing the availability of quality seeds at the farmer level and increasing soybean production in Bulutellue Village Tondong Tallasa Subdistrict Pangkep Regency. The activity took place from March to June 2018. The method used was in the form of counselling, training, demonstration plot (demplot) making and supervision. The results of counselling activity show the farmer?s increasing knowledge and skill s of quality seed benefits, seed class and ways of producing quality seeds. To complement farmer?s knowledge, a field activity is carried out in the form of one hectare demplot. By applying the package of technology, namely the utilization of primary seeds (BP or benih pokok) of Argomulyo variety, applying the planting distance of 25 cm x 25 cm, weed control, fertilization, pest and disease control, harvest and post harvest, the quality of production harvest yields increases. The results of this technology application activity show the farmer?s increasing knowledge and skills in producing quality seeds production and also the availability of quality seeds and an increase in the farmer?s soybean production that reaches 1.25 tons per hectare, compared to the previous production of only 0.75 ton per hectare.
