Abstract

Smart wheelchairs is a kind of assistive technology implementation from mobile robot field. The main purpose of the system is enhance disable people mobility and guaranteeing safety aspect while wheelchair navigate around domestic environment. As a kind of semi autonomous smart navigation system, the smart wheelchair must be accommodate share control between automatic controller and the user (via joystic). The ultimate goal of this research is to know exactly the position and orientation of smart wheelchair using dead reckoning principle. To fulfill the goal, the smart wheelchair is equipt by quadrature rotary encoder for each wheels.From the experiments that we drawn, we have get some result: Position and orientation error will be larger for long duration of operation of wheelchairs. Fundamentally, these kinds of error result from systematic and non systematic error source. Keywords: encoder, dead reckoning, state chart, komunikasi serial, smart wheelchair

Abstract

Water resources infrastructure development requires a careful planning, one of which requires hydrological analysis. The accuracy of hydrological data is influenced by the method, operator/observer, and the performance of the measuring instrument. Up date water resources management agencies in Indonesia have conducted observations of discharges in the rivers or channels, by observing Water Level (WL) at the gauging station. WL values can be read directly or by using an automatic WL meter tools (AUTO) which have been finstalled in many gauging stations. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the AUTO performance that can be done through calibration in the laboratory. This paper evaluates the performance of several types of AUTO (AWLR, AWLL buoyance, and AWLL pressure) by comparing themeasurement results with the standard/reference tool i.e, using a calibrator instrument, so that the values of the measurement error and uncertainty were obtained. Both parameters were used to determine the performance of AUTO devices because they are related to the level of accuracy and precision. Based on the results, it was found that AWLR produces the best level of accuracy and precision, followed by AWLL pressure, and AWLL buoyance.

Abstract

Salah satu alat yang digunakan dalam pengukuran debit di suatu saluran air atau sungai adalah dengan menggunakan Current Meter. Berdasarkan hasil pengukuran tersebut, debit aliran air dihitung menggunakan metode yang sudah ada. Mengingat muka air sungai dapat berubah sangat cepat terutama saat banjir, maka kepraktisan dan kecepatan pengukuran, serta penghitungan debit sangat diperlukan. Untuk menjawab tantangan tersebut diperlukan alat ukur Current Meter yang lebih praktis dan cepat dalam pengukuran dan perhitungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan prototipe Counter Current Meter berbasis mikrokontroller yang dapat menyimpan data kecepatan air, menghitung data debit secara semi otomatis, dan dapat mengunduh data yang disimpan ke komputer. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fungsi penghitung debit otomatis pada Counter hasil pengembangan dan perangkat lunak Counter pada komputer telah bekerja sesuai dengan perancangan. Perbedaan hasil perhitungan debit yang sangat kecil diantara perhitungan manual dengan perhitungan otomatis diduga disebabkan oleh perbedaan proses pembulatan yang mempengaruhi akurasi pada perhitungan.
