Abstract

Low quality of education in Indonesia is partly contributed by teachers’ low quality, especially in terms of professionalism. The problems dealing with teachers’ professionalism must be comprehensively solved dealing with prosperity, qualification, upgrading, protection, registration, certification, and license. This is due to the fact that   teacher is considered a profession; not just an ordinary job. This can be seen from internal perspectives, where strengthening social position, job protection, salary improvement, and legal status of this profusion. From external perspectives, the demands that the quality teaching profession should not only be assessed by the training institutions that produce them but also the users, such as profession associations, communities and the institutions where the teachers work. Therefore, models for developing and improving teachers professionalisms in Indonesia are urgently needed.Kata kunci: profesionalisme, guru, mutu, pendidikan

Abstract

Ethnic diversity in the forms language, values way of life is the greatest gift from the Almighty God to Indonesian people. However, horizontal conflicts, such as among ethnic groups, religions, and the like, leave a big question: Does education fail to build and develop senses of humanity, brotherhood and unity? This implies that the application of present educational system has not yet successfully builds tough characters and develops creative ideas to solve problems concerning with economic crises. Furthermore, moral crises – slaughters, rapes, brawls, and the like – takes place everywhere. Dealing with moral crises, there are three big issues that can be proposed: 1) how schools reconstruct society to be more survived in the global era, 2) what types of education to strengthen our educational system, and 3) what are the chances of art education to unite and build character of nation.Kata kunci: mutu, pemahaman, sekolah

Abstract

Digitalization gives great influences on education and social lives. In education, instructional media have shifted from conventional ones to digital ones. Even, the development has greatly taken place compared to the last decades. Formerly, teachers were the only media providers and if one want to get information, they should visit information center. Nowadays, some unlimited resources are available, even in one’s personal computer. Abstract

Science learning forms to improve the quality of university students’ learning are aimed are aimed at figuring out learning models which promote students’ learning ability simply and efficiently on the basis of knowledge and skills needed in learning process-self learning. Adapting current technology toward science learning has become one of the goals of learning model innovation. Furthermore, science leaning models have strength in 3 aspects: (1) problem-solving learning, (2) experience-based learning, and (3) individual and cooperation-based learning. Among some forms of learning can be applied in science learning are (a) learning model through analogy, (2) learning model through media, and (c) information technology (web)-based learning. Several components need to be well managed to ensure that such learning model innovation can be effectively applied to obtain the goals are: professional teachers, students, educational facilities, learnig process, curriculum, monitoring and evaluation.Kata Kunci: pembelajaran, sain, mutu

Abstract

The rapid development of knowledge and technology brings learners to innovative things in their lives. Television is one of technologies lead learners to the positive things. For example, television could facilitate learners to study easily and enlarge their horizons. It, however, has a negative effect on learners’ personality. Learners assume that what they watch and listen are absolutely correct. As a result, they do all the things as what they watch. They are failed to filter the positive values on television. In order to anticipate these negative values, teachers should corporate to parents. Parents, for example, could empower leaner’s iman (faith), build their character values, and enrich their ibadah (worship) to God Almighty. By empowering parents, learner’s bad value could be minimized.Kata kunci: media massa, perkembangan, peserta didik
