Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis senyawa metabolit sekunder golongan triterpenoid dari hasil fraksinasi ekstrak air buah buncis (Phaseolus vulgaris Linn). Ekstrak buah buncis di ekstrak dengan cara maserasi dengan pelarut air (1: 18 w/v) dan dianalisis menggunakan KG-SM. Hasil uji pendahuluan menghasilkan bahwa ekstrak kental air buah buncis positif mengandung triterpenoid, Hasil analisis KG-SM menunjukkan bahwa senyawa triterpenoid terbanyak terdapat pada fraksi ekstrak metanol yaitu dua senyawa tetrasiklik triterpenoid tipe lanostane: 9,19-cyclolanost-24-en-3-ol (cycloartenol) yang memiliki rumus molekul C30H50O (m/z = 426) dan senyawa 9,19-cyclolanost-24-en-3-ol,acetat yang memiliki rumus molekul C32H52O2 (m/z = 468) dan hasil fraksinasi kromatografi kolom menghasilkan 78 fraksi dengan hasil uji pereaksi Lieberman Burchard menunjukkan bahwa positif terbanyak mengandung triterpenoid berada pada fraksi 10, fraksi 11 dengan perbandingan eluen heksana : etil asetat = 7 : 3 v/v dan fraksi 17, fraksi 18 dengan perbandingan eluen heksana : etilasetat = 5: 5 v/v.This study aimed to analyze the class of secondary metabolites triterpenoids from the fractionation of aqueous extract of fruit beans (Phaseolus vulgaris Linn). Fruit extract beans in a solvent by maceration with water (1: 18w / v) and analyzed using GC-MS. Lieberman Burchard reagent test results showed that the water condensed fruit beans extract containing triterpenoids and GC-MS analysis showed that the highest triterpenoid compound present in the methanol extract fraction triterpenoid compounds tetrasiklik types lanostane: 9.19-cyclolanost-24-en-3-ol (cycloartenol) which has the molecular formula C30H50O (m / z = 426) and compound9.19-cyclolanost-24-en-3-ol, acetate which has the molecular formula C32H52O2 (m / z = 468) and the results of the fractionation column chromatography produce 78 fractions with Lieberman Burchard reagent test results showed that the most positive fractions containing triterpenoids are at 10, 11 fractions with a ratio of eluent hexane: ethyl acetate = 7: 3 v / v and fraction 17, fraction 18 with a ratio of eluent hexane: ethyl acetate = 5 : 5v / v.

Abstract

A research on the antioxidant potential of ethanol extract Phaseolus vulgaris L. fractination. The aims study to know fraction had been antioxidant potential and dominant compound at extract fraction. Antioxidant potential fraction is polar fraction and its IC50 is 158 ppm. A dominant compound at nonpolar, semipolar dan polar fraction is phenolic compound. Polar fraction had a greatest percentage phenolic compound (42%).

Abstract

The importance of critical thinking skills for students in the study of chemistry, it is necessary to appropriate learning models that can involve students directly in making students active learning and improve students' critical thinking skills. One model that can be applied is discovery learning model learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in critical thinking skills of students learning through discovery learning. This study was an experimental study design with nonequivalent pretest-Posttes Control Group Design. The subjects of the study involves two classes of experimental class and control class. Data collection instruments in the form of test critical thinking skills in the form of matter description. Statistical testing using independent sample t-test were previously tested for normality, homogeneity test at the 0.05 significance level. The results showed no difference in the increase in critical thinking skills in each of the indicators of critical thinking skills.Keywords: Discovery learning, critical thinking skills

Abstract

This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity and secondary metabolism of pakoasi leaf extract and kluwih leaf. Analysis using DDPH method (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl). Result of antioxidant activity test in. Concentration Barriers (IC50). IC50 values for leaf extract of pakoasi and kluwih leaves were 89.659 μg / mL and 54.719 μg / mL greater than IC50 vitamin C of 46.74 μg / mL. Qualitative analysis of antioxidant compounds using TLC technique showed seven chromatogram profiles for pakoasi leaf extract and four chromatogram profiles for kluwih leaf extract. In addition, phytochemical analysis of leaf extract of pakoasi and kluwih leaves showed the presence of saponin compounds, tannins, phenols, flavonoids, steroids and triterpenoids. Based on the results of this analysis concluded that leaf extract of pakoasi and kluwih leaf as natural source of antioxidant which can be seen with IC50 value in the sample is in strong category and supported from phytolyte analysis result which according to phenol and flavonoid which act as antioxidant.Keywords: Antioxidant activity, phytochemical analysis ethanol extract, green bean leaves, kluwih leaves, leaves of pakoasi

Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini berdasarkan pada rendahnya prestasi belajar siswa di MAN 1 Mataram. Hal tersebut diketahui berdasarkan prestasi belajar kognitif siswa pada semester 2 tahun pelajaran 2012/2013 dan 2013/2014. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas penggunaan lembar kegiatan siswa model 5E dalam pembelajaran kimia materi pokok reaksi reduksioksidasi. Desain penelitian eksperimen menggunakan posttest only design with non-equivalent group dengan 2 kelas sampel, menunjukkan hasil thitung > ttabel (thitung = 5,815 dan ttabel = 1,672) pada taraf signifikansi 0,05. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa prestasi belajar siswa yang belajar menggunakan lembar kegiatan siswa (LKS) model 5E lebih tinggi daripada prestasi belajar siswa yang belajar dengan menggunakan lembar kegiatan siswa (LKS) biasa pada materi pokok reaksi reduksi-oksidasi.

Abstract

Fitosterol merupakan sterol nabati, termasuk dalam senyawa metabolit sekunder dan memiliki manfaat yang luas dalam bidang kesehatan. Sumber bahan alam yang mengandung senyawa fitosterol telah banyak digunakan sebagai bahan obat, salah satunya yaitu buncis (Phaseolus vulgaris L.). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksplorasi, bertujuan untuk menganalisis kandungan senyawa fitosterol dalam ekstrak air, ekstrak etanol, dan hasil partisi dari ekstrak air buah buncis menggunakan teknik KLT dan KG-SM. Hasil uji fitokimia menunjukkan bahwa dari 13 ekstrak hasil partisi dengan pelarut n-heksan, DCM, etil asetat, dan metanol, hanya 5 ekstrak yang menunjukkan positif steroid, diantaranya ekstrak air, residu heksan, residu DCM, ekstrak metanol, dan residu metanol. Ekstrak etanol juga menunjukkan positif steroid. Hasil uji KLT pada residu heksan hasil partisi dari ekstrak air diduga merupakan senyawa stigmasterol karena memiliki harga Rf = 0,9 sama dengan harga Rf senyawa standar stigmasterol, sedangkan pada ekstrak etanol, senyawa fitosterol yang terdeteksi yaitu ?-sitosterol 6,01% dan stigmasterol 2,48%.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis keterampilan berpikir kritis yang dikembangan melalui instrumen penilaian pada Program studi Magister Pendidikan IPA Universitas Mataram. Instrumen penilaian yang dikembangkan oleh dosen- dosen pengampu matakuliah Program Studi Magister Pendidikan IPA (PSMIPA) Program Pascasarjana Universitas Mataram dicocokkan dengan indikator keterampilan berpikir kritis yang dikembangkan oleh Ennis (1985). Respon dosen- dosen pengampu matakuliah PSMIPA Program Pascasarjana Universitas Mataram terhadap hasil analisis instrumen penilaian dan indikator berpikir kritis dijaring melalui FGD. Dalam kegiatan FGD juga diidentifikasi pola dan strategi pembelajaran yang dapat mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis di PSMPIPA Unram. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sub indikator keenam keterampilan berpikir kritis yaitu keterampilan membuat deduksi dan mempertimbangkan hasil deduksi sebanyak 26,7% dan sub indikator kedua yaitu menganalisis argumen sebanyak 32,2% merupakan sub indikator paling banyak digunakan dalam instrumen penilaian PSMIPA Program Pascasarjana Universitas Mataram. Dari hasil FGD disimpulkan bahwa instrumen penilaian yang dikembangkan harus lebih mendorong mahasiswa untuk berpikir kritis dari katagori yang sederhana menuju ke kompleks dan instrumen dapat berupa penugasan atau ujian yang sifatnya open books atau take home. Kata kunci: Keterampilan berpikir kritis, instrumen penilaian Abstract: The purpose of this study is to determine the kinds of critical thinking skills which are developed through assessment instruments in Science Education Program, Graduate School University of Mataram. Assessment instruments were developed by lecturers of Science Education Program, Graduate School University of Mataram that were matched with indicators of critical thinking skills Ennis (1985). Lecturer responses on the study results were captured through Focus Group Discussion (FGD). FGD also identified the patterns and learning strategies that can develop critical thinking skills in Science Education Program, Graduate School University of Mataram. The results showed that the sub-indicators of made deduction and deduction considered (26.7%) and sub-indicator of analyzed arguments (32.2%) were the most widely used in the assessment instruments of Science Education Program, Graduate School University of Mataram. FGD results concluded that the assessment should be developed to encourage students to think critically from the simple category to complex category, and the instrument can be an assignment or examination which is conducted an open books or take home. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Media Animasi Submikroskopik (MAS) terhadap kemampuan representasi siswa pada setiap sub materi pokok larutan penyangga. Penelitian ini menggunakan nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan (N-gain) kemampuan representasi siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi (p=0,002) dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Selain itu, rata-rata N-gain kemampuan representasi siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol pada setiap sub materi pokok. Konsep komponen larutan penyangga mengalami peningkatan tertinggi di kelas eksperimen (rata-rata N-gain = 81,21%). Konsep pH larutan penyangga mengalami peningkatan tertinggi di kelas kontrol (rata-rata N-gain = 76,42%). MAS memuat konsep larutan penyangga pada level submikroskopik dengan jelas sehingga dapat membantu siswa memahami konsep-konsep pada level makroskopik dan simbolik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa MAS dapat meningkatkan kemampuan representasi siswa pada setiap sub materi pokok.

Abstract

The aims of this study were to generate 5E learning cycle model student’s work sheet wich suitable to be implemented on subject matter of the reduce-oxidace rections at class X. The method used in this study was according to the model of 4D development were Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The results of limited testing by 6 students and 2 teacher’s chemistry of MAN 1 Mataram and results of the expert validation by 3 validators showed that 5E learning cycle model student’s work sheet was very suitable to be used with scores 3,36, 3,37, dan 3,33 on scale 1-4Keywords: Student’s Work Sheet, 5E Learning Cycle Model

Abstract

Syzygium aqueum plant of the family Myrtaceae is native of Malaysia and Indonesia and is known as the water rose. The active compound is useful as an antibacterial. This study aimed to determine the effects of ethanol extracts of guava leaves (S. aqueum) as an antimicrobial against clinical isolates bacteria in vitro. The design used in experiment was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Data were analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis test. Results of statistical analysis using SPSS 20 for windows indicated that the ethanol extract of guava leaves has a significant (P<0,05) effect in inhibiting the growth of clinical isolates bacteria. MIC (Minimum Inhibition Concentration) of ethanol extracts for each bacterium can not be determined because the guava leaf extract was very dark. The MBC (Minimum Bacterisidal Concentration) of ethanol extract of guava leaf  for both S. aureus and S. dysenteriae was 20%.  The MBC of the extract for E. coli, S. thypi, V. cholerae was 25%, where as for B. cereus was at concentration of 50%. It can be concluded that guava leaf has highly potential as a source of antimicrobial agent.Keywords:Antibacteria, Guava Leaf, Clinical Isolates Bacteria, Ethanol Extract
