This study to find out the implementation of the small industrial area-tobacco product industry (LIK-IHT) for the period of 2009-2015 and the problems and crucial issues facing the implementation of the small industrial area-tobacco product industry (LIK-IHT).The study applied a descriptive-qualitative method using primary and secondary data. The primary data consisted of documents, archives, and human behaviors, either verbal or nonverbal. Study informants were dedtermined by a purposive sampling. Techniques of data collection used in this study consisted of interview, observation and documentation. The small industrial area-tobacco product industry (LIK-IHT) is one of leading programs of Kudus Regency, which had a purpose of providing facilities to small entrepreneurs in tobacco industry in order to survive due to the promulgation of the Minister of Financial Affairs Decree No. 200/PMK.04/2008 on Methods of Provision, Defunction, and Removal of Nomor Pokok Pengusaha Barang Kena Cukai for Tobacco Factories and Importers, which requires that cigarette firms have to possess and to make use of at least 200 meter-square area. The program began in 2009 from the allocation of the Tobacco Excise Revenue Sharing Fund (DBHCHT) of Kudus Regency. The facilities provided in the LIK-IHT consisted 11 production buidings, a laboratory, a cigarette association building, wastewater processing installation (IPAL), mushola, shops, and other supporting facilities. However, problems arose during the making of the LIK-IHT due to ineffectiveness of the facilities and infrastructures as well as budget inefficiency. This study extends the literature as it may be alternative reference for program evaluation in order to improve performance of the implementation of the LIK-IHT Program in Kudus Regency. Keywords: Program Implementation, LIK-IHT, DBHCHT.

Abstract

Peadungdung  is one of the villages in Indonesia that suffered land forest transforming.  Land forest transforming increasing the risk of losing native plant knowledge among community.  This risk is difficult to assess because rarely documented.  Therefore, ethnobotany approach is needed to document local knowledge about the use of native plants in their environment.Data were collected by interview, direct observation, and inventory.  Interview were conducted by 4 key informants and 30 informants.  Determination of  the informants conducted by purposive sampling technique.  A total 163 useful plant species belonging to 66 families were identified and reported.  The highest number of plant were used for medicine (92 species), food (71 species), firewood (25 species), Symbol (23 species), local technology (18 species), livestock fodder (18 species), rope (15 species), art (11 species), and revenue (11 species).

Abstract

The Batak Toba sub-ethnic is an indegenous tribe in Sumatra Island, who has local knowledge of using plants as food (edible plants). This study aims to (1) document the non-cultivated plants used by Batak Toba sub-ethnic as edible plants; (2) compare the quantitative values of edible plants by Batak Toba sub-ethnic. The study was conducted with ethnobotany approach through surveys and parcifative observations. The interviews were conducted toward key informants (7 people) and the general respondents (30 people). The general respondents were grouped into 17-30 years old, 30-50 years old, more than 50 years old, which the numbers of each were 10 respondents. The data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The quantitative analysis was done by calculating the relative frequency of citation (RFC), and informant consensus factor (ICF). This research found a total of 44 species belonging to the 28 families and 40 genera have been used by Batak Toba sub-ethnic as edible plants. The edible plants have been used as vegetables (18 species), fruits (16 species), spices (6 species), and drinks (3 species). The mean of species known by respondents were 15.8 ± 5.18 (17-30 years old), 23.2 ± 3.58 (30-50 years old), 26.8 ± 4.66 (> 50 years old) and 36.85 ± 5.11 (key informants). The IFC values of edible plants were 0.943 (spices) - 0.968 (drinks). A total of nine species of foodstuffs have been known by all respondents (RFC = 1.0). The utilization of Calamus javensis and Arundina graminifolia, as foodstuffs are going to be further investigated as low-calorie of carbohydrate sources.

Abstract

This research aim was to determine the effect of various rates of chicken manure and straw mulch on the growth and yield of tomato plant.  The research method used a Two-factorial Randomized Block design (RBD). The first factor was the rate of chicken manure consisting of 5 t/ha (P1), 10 t/ha (P2) and 15 t/ha (P3). The second factor was the rate of rice straw mulch including control (M0, without mulch), 5 t/ha (M1), 10 t/ha (M2) and15 t/ha (M3). Each treatment was repeated thrice, so that there were 36 experimental units.  The results ofthe study indicated thatthe chicken manure and the rice straw mulch interaction significantly affected the growth and yield of tomato as observed on plant height, number of leaves, number of fruit per plant, yield per tile and yield per hectare.  The interaction of chicken manure at 10 t/ha and rice straw mulch at10 t/ha resulted in largest number of leaves, number of fruit per plant, yield per tile and yield per ha.The highest production of tomatoes found was 11.98 t/ha. Keywords: Chicken manure, Rice straw mulch, and Tomato.
