Abstract

Tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh disiplin dalam belajar matematika terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP 2 Sampolawa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian yang bersifat ?ex-post facto? yaitu penelitian yang dilakukan untuk melihat dan mengkaji  variabel tanpa melakukan perlakuan terhadap yang diteliti. Penelitian inidilakukan di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Sampolawa pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2014/2015. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Sampolawa, yang berjumlah 101 orang yang tersebar dalam 5 kelas yaitu: kelas VIIIa berjumlah 21 siswa, kelas VIIIb berjumlah 20 siswa, kelas VIIIc berjumlah 20 siswa, kelas VIIId berjumlah 20 siswa, dan kelas VIIIe berjumlah 20 siswa. Sampel penelitian diambil sebanyak 41 orang melalui teknik proporsinal random sampling, karena karakteristik akademik kelima kelas pada penelitian ini adalah relatif sama. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari angket disiplin dalam belajar dan dokumentasi prestasi belajar matematika untuk mengukur antara disiplin belajar dalam bidang studi matematika terhadap prestasi belajar matematika. Data yang diperoleh dari hasil pengumpulan data dianalisis secara bertahap mulai dari analisis deskriptif hingga analisis inferensial. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan antara disiplin siswadengan prestasi belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP Neg. 2 Sampolawa. Abstract

Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menghitung luas bangun ruang pada mata pelajaran Matematika melalui benda konkret di sekitar siswa kelas VI SDN Talabiu Kecamatan Woha Kabupaten Bima tahun pelajaran 2011/2012. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VI SDN Talabiu tahun pelajaran 2011/2012  yang berjumlah 17 anak. Jumlah tersebut terdiri atas 13 siswa laki-laki dan 4 siswa perempuan. Jenis penelitin ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan dalam tiga siklus. Masing-masing siklus terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, evaluasi dan refleksi. Data aktivitas belajar siswa diperoleh dengan cara observasi sedangkan data hasil menghitung luas bangun  ruang siswa diperoleh dari pemberian tes pada tiap akhir siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berdasarkan evaluasi tahap pra siklus diketahui bahwa dalam menghitung luas permukaan kubus dan balok perolehan nilai siswa yang memperoleh nilai  di atas 70 sebanyak 9 siswa 52,9 %, sedangkan yang memperoleh  nilai kurang dari 70 sebanyak 8 siswa 47,1 %. Kemudian pPada evaluasi Siklus I meningkat menjadi  70,6 % atau 12 siswa yang mendapatkan nilai diatas 70  sedangkan yang kurang dari 70 sebanyak 5 siswa atau 29,4 %. Selanjutnya pada evaluasi Siklus II perolehan nilai diatas 70 sebanyak 14 siswa sebesar 82,4 % dan 3 siswa mendapat nilai kurang dari 70 sebesar 17,6 % dan pada siklus III Hasil kemampuan hitung yang memperoleh nilai diatas 70 sebanyak 17 siswa sebesar 100 %.  Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan benda konkret disekitar siswa telah berhasil terlaksana dalam upaya meningkatkan kemampuan menghitung luas bangun ruang pada mata pelajaran Matematika siswa kelas VI SDN Talabiu Kecamatan Woha Kabupaten Bima tahun pelajaran 2011/2012

Abstract

The decision made by the Constitution Court in a case decision No. 5/PUU-V/2007 abbrogated the Article 56 and 59 of the 2004 Law No. 32 as a basis for allowing an individual candidate to participate in an election of  local heads. From the result of this research, it is found out that the existence of an individual candidates in a election of a local head is in line with the spirit of the 1945 Constitution namely giving an equal opportunity to every citizen to run the government since the condition of political parties that have not yet become conducive instruments to prepare candidates of leaders at all levels of state organization. If a local head is from an individual candidate, no substantial implication is on the effectiveness of the working relationship between  the local head and the Local Parliament in terms of making local regulation, deterining  local budget and  of the function of control of the local parliament. It is also the case of the head and vice head of Garut coming from individual candidates, there is no substantial implication on the effectiveness of working relationship  between the local head and the local parliament of Garut.

Abstract

Theoretically, the problems deal with the attitude of the law enforcers, especially the judges, to take sides in considering the procedural  or substantive justices. The 1945 Constitution or the  legislation on the justice power and on Constitutional Court of Law actually oblige the judges to realize  the substantial justice in law enforcement. The judges  are not the sounders  of the laws, since human beings are never able to make perfect legislation. It is the judges who should interpret the legislations in order to realize the substantial justice.

Abstract

This study is intended to understand and analyze the implications of the direct local head election on the work relation between the new local head and the local parliament in establishing local regulations and local budget, and the  monitoring on  the local government in general and, especially the mayor of Malang made by the local parliament. Therefore, the approach employed was a normative approach which was supported by sociological approach. Based pm the results and analyses made, it is known that the relation between the local parliament and the local head merely gives grammatical implication in establishing local regulations, and in making the local budget, the role of the local head is more dominant, while in terms of monitoring made by the local parliament, it is not as strong as before or when the local head was elected through the mechanism of local parliament in accordance with the law no. 22. in the year of 1999.

Abstract

Problem-solving is one of the skills the students need to master when learning mathematics. Based on observations, researchers found that students' mathematical problem-solving skills are lacking because students prioritize the learning outcomes than understanding the process of solving a problem. One of the teacher's efforts to solve these problems is to apply a problem-based learning model. This study aimed to investigate the process of students' mathematical problem-solving skills based on Polya's theory. The research conducted was qualitative. The subjects were 2 out of 30 Year 7 students selected based on the test results and information from the teacher, the selected students are one high-ability student and one student low ability student. Data collection involved tests and interviews. The results showed that high ability students was able to solve problems based on the four stages of Polya, while the low ability student wasnot be able to do many process of Polya. Therefore, there is still a need for closer teacher attention towards the students.

Abstract

Echocardiography is a method of examination using high-frequency sound waves to capture images of the heart organ structure. Echocardiography video is used by a doctor to analyze heart wall cavity movements and identify heart disease. Several points of view including the long axis, the two and four cavities in the left ventricle can be used in the examination of heart function. Cardiac assessment is still performed conventionally, which requires a level of thoroughness. This research proposes a method for tracking the movement of the heart wall. In this method, the good feature was defined only in the first frame. Furthermore, the whole frame will be processed by the optical flow method. Good feature definition consists of image enhancement, segmentation and tracking processes using the optical flow. Furthermore, the calculation of contour similarity from the proposed method by forming contour manually using 24 point initialization to draw the heart cavity. The proposed method shows the calculation results with a sensitivity of 90% and an accuracy of 87.451%.

Abstract

Mathematical understanding and self-efficacy are things that must be considered in determining the success of student learning. However, based on preliminary studies at SMAN 1 Delima, those are still low. The purpose of this research was to know the significant improvement between mathematical comprehension and student self-efficacy facilitated by Quantum Teaching learning model and to see the correlation between mathematical understanding and student self-efficacy through Quantum Teaching learning model. This research was experimental research with quantitative approach. The study population was all students of class XI of SMAN 1 Delima. The sample of this research was randomly selected consisted of class XI IPA2 as the experimental class and class XI IPA3 as the control class. The instrument of this study was a mathematical understanding test and a student self-efficacy questionnaire that has been validated by three validators and has been tested in class XI IPA4. The results of the validity and reliability analysis of items on mathematical understanding and self-efficacy questionnaires were tested feasible. A t-test was used to find out the improvement of mathematical understanding and self-efficacy of students facilitated learning model Quantum Teaching. While to see the correlation between mathematical understanding and student self-efficacy, product moment Pearson correlation test was used. The study found that the improvement of students' mathematical understanding and self-efficacy facilitated by Quantum Teaching learning model was better than conventional learning. The correlation between mathematical comprehension and student self-efficacy facilitated by Quantum Teaching learning model was in a low category. Therefore, the quantum teaching model can be applied by teachers to improve students' understanding and self-efficacy on integral materials.Keywords: quantum teaching model, mathematical understanding, self-efficacy.

Abstract

The background study of this research was based on the lack of mathematical understanding and students? learning independency of Class X at one of the senior high schools in Aceh Besar. The test results on the trigonometry subject showed that only 3 out of 10 students (30%) passed the minimum score. This condition was also found during the observation of student activities in their learning process. Students tended to rely on teachers and friends to cope with the problems, such as lack of initiative, have poor learning management and easy to feel discouraged. The main objectives of this research were (1) to improve students? mathematical comprehension, and (2) to improve students? learning independency through discovery learning model on the trigonometry subject. This is a classroom action research. The subjects of this study were ten students at Class X of science class. The research instruments consisted of a set of mathematical comprehension test and students independent learning questionnaire. The technique of data collection used was a qualitative approach, and the collected data was described in descriptive form. The results show that there was an improvement of the learning process through the discovery of learning model, based on the mathematical comprehension test results (from 68.3% in cycle I to 71.7% in cycle II), and the improvement of student?s independent learning (from 42.2% in cycle I to 47.1% in cycle II). Therefore, Discovery learning model effectively improves students' understanding ability, encourage student-learning independency and enlarge students? mathematical comprehension.Keywords: mathematical comprehension, learning independence, discovery learning.

Abstract

Since in 1976, sociology officially became one of the subjects taught in senior high school programs throughout Indonesia. There are still several major problems in teaching it in particular the lack of locally relevant teaching materials and the lack of teachers with a background in sociology. The aim of this study is to find better ways for the teaching of sociology and for students to learn the principles of sociology and to find the best of teaching materials available for constructing a better paradigm for character education and also to identify the various barriers and difficulties inhibiting the provision of highly successful character education through the study of sociology. Most of the results showed that in teaching sociology in Banda Aceh the implementation of teaching character based on local wisdom has major problems and obstacles. In particular the standardized national education program ending with standardized national final examinations emphasizes rote learning unrelated to the real life of the students. This raises contradictions because the centrally prepared material makes it difficult to introduce local indigenous values, culture and traditions.
