Abstract

This research aim to study the effect of Melaleuca bracteata and Psidium guajava as attractant to controlling fruit fly (Bactrocera spp.) throught different application times at paper plantation in Sigi Sulawesi Tengah. It was done since March until July 2010 in Maku village, District of Dolo, Sigi regency, Sulawesi Selatan Province of Indonesia. Randomized Block Design with 2 (two) factor and treatment was used by concetration of M. bracteata oil on three levels and application time on three levels. Concentration of M. Bracteata oil on extract of P. guajava as first factor, there were M1 = 0,40 ml of M. bracteata oil / 100 ml of P. guajava extract, M2 = 0,50 ml of M. bracteata oil / 100 ml of P. guajava extract, dan M3 = 0,60 ml of M. bracteata oil / 100 ml of P. guajava extract. The application time as second factor, there ara were W1 = 7 days, W2 = 10 days, and W3 = 13 days. The results showed that population of fruit fly at paper plantation reduced by application of M. bracteata oil. Application of 0,60 ml of M. bracteata oil / 100 ml of P. guajava extract every 10 days indicated the best attractant of the fruit fly. Others results of this research was discussed.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of some insecticides on the population development and attack Liriomyza sp on local Palu onions. The research conducted from Februari to April 2017, at Guntarano village, Tanantovea Sub-District, Donggala District. The study used Randomized Block Design (RAK) consisting of four treatments, namely Po.Control; P1. Abamectin; P2. Azadiractin; P3. Dimohipo. Each treatment was repeated three times so that 12 treatments were obtained. The results showed that the insecticidal treatment had an effect on the development of the varied Liriomyza sp. Adult population at various plant age levels. Observations on plant age 5 and 6 of MST showed that abamectin insecticides were effective in suppressing the growth larvae populations of Liriomyza sp compared with the treatment of Azadiractin, Dimohipo and non-treated insecticides.

Abstract

Effect of Frequency and Application of Abamectin Insecticides on Population Abundance and Attack Level of Leafminer Liriomyza, spp. (Diptera: Agromysidae) is one of the main pests on the Lembah Palu red onion, where this pest is relatively new in the Palu Valley. The aim of the study was to examine the effect of frequency and application of insecticides on population abundance, and the attack rate of  L. chinensis (Diptera: Agromyzidae) on the Lembah Palu red onion plant under applied and unapplied insecticide. The treatment of abamectin insecticide was applied once a week with a concentration of 1 ml of formulation per liter of water, beginning at the age of 2 MST and ending at 7 MST. The results showed that there were 2 species of Liriomyza, spp associated with Palu valley red onion i.e. Liriomyza chinensis and Liriomyza sativae. This research found that the application of Abamectin insecticides significantly affected population development and the percentage of Liriomyza, spp. on the lembah Palu red onion.

Abstract

This study aims to study and determine the behavior of farmers in the use of pesticides on shallots in Wombo Mpanau Village, Tanantovea District. This study uses a simple random method. The data obtained is collected, processed and analyzed. Analysis was carried out to determine the frequency of data in each variable. Primary data obtained through interviews were analyzed to provide a concise picture of groups of data in one frequency table. Types of pests that attack onion in Wombo Mpanau Village are leaf caterpillars, leaf flies, trips, flour dew, and fusarium wilt. The most widely used pest control method is the use of chemical pesticides, which reaches 70% of respondents. The knowledge of farmers on the application of pesticides is relatively good, namely 100% of respondents apply pesticides when there are symptoms of attack and if other controls are unable to overcome the pest attack. Knowledge of farmers on the use of doses of pesticides is relatively good, namely 100% of respondents use the dosage according to the recommendations listed on the packaging. The actions of farmers when applying pesticides in general are not mixing pesticides. The majority of respondents have taken the right action in terms of storing semrot and pesticides in a special place. But on the other hand the awareness of farmers is still low, because there are still many farmers who wash sprayers in rivers or ditches.

Abstract

Target kegiatan KKN-PPM untuk sasaran masyarakat adalah Masyarakat aktif dalam kegiatan program KKN-PPM yang berbasis pemberdayaan masyarakat; peningkatan keterampilan 80% dalam menangani serangan Organisme Pengganggu Tanaman kakao; Masyarakat mampu menerapkan Teknologi pengendalian secara terpadu dalam menangani serangan Organisme Pengganggu Tanaman tanaman kakao; Masyarakat menguasai keterampilan dan teknologi dalam pengolahan potensi local masing-masing desa sebagai produk olahan yang bernilai ekonomi sedangkan untuk sasaran Mahasiswa adalah: Meningkatkan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam pemberdayaan masyarakat; Meningkatkan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam bekerjasama pada suatu kelompok;Menumbuhkan empati mahasiswa terhadap lingkungan dan masyarakat disekitarnya .Jenis luaran yang dihasilkan adalah: masyarakat mampu keluar dari tekanan trauma yang diakibatkan musibah bencana alam gempa bumi melalui peningkatan aktivitas keseharian dam mampu melakukan pengendalian Organisme Pengganggu Tanaman secara terpadu melalui penguasaan teknologi pengendalian.Metode yang diterapkan dalam mencapai target dan penyelesaian masalah dari program KKN-PPM ini, adalah metode pendidikan masyarakat dengan pendekatan Learning by doing dengan metode pelatihan  (training), demonstrasi demplot percobaan.
