Abstract

Adversity Quotient (AQ) is the most scientifically robust and widely used method in the world for measuring and strengthening human resilience. It is beneficial to upgrades particularly on students’ academic performance, which is shown by evaluation achievement. Most of medical schools in the world using assessment method named OSCE to evaluate their students’ clinical skills, including Medical Faculty of Riau University. This is an analytic cross-sectional study, on purposed to determine the correlation between Adversity Quotient and OSCE achievement of medical students of Riau University on year 2013. About 112 medical students of Riau University, obtained by total sampling method, have been selected as samples. Primary data was taken by using Stolzt’s based theory questionnaire and secondary data was available as OSCE mark form. Data processed by using correlation test Spearman to discovered correlation between AQ and OSCE achievement. Results showed there was a significant and poor correlation between Adversity Quotient and OSCE achievement (p=0.033;r=0.202), which was leading to a conclusion: the higher level of AQ reached, the higher OSCE score can be achieved.Key words: Adversity Quotient, OSCE achievement, medical students

Abstract

Bloodstains is an important body fluids as evidence, because the blood has hemoglobin structure consisting of hemeand polypeptides. Perpetrators will attempt to clean the bloodstain that found at the crime scene by using cleaningagents and chemicals. Sodium hypochlorite is a chemical that found in cleaning fluids and bleach. This study aims toknow the effects of sodium hypochlorite to bloodstain and confirmatory test. Bloodstain on the objeck glasses andthe fabrics exposed by sodium hypochlorite concentration 5,25% and 0,15%, and examined with Teichmann’s testand Takayama’s test, and seen under microscope. In this study, show no crystal hemoglobin of the bloodstain on theobjeck glasses and fabrics exposed by sodium hypochlorite concentration 5.25% and concentration 0,15%. Thismight caused by sodium hypochlorite destructed structure of heme, so there were no reaction between heme, sodiumchloride and acetat glacial acids on Teichmann’s test and no reaction between heme and Takayama’s reagen onTakayama’s test. The conclusions of this study, crystal hemoglobin were not found on bloodstain exposed by sodiumhypochloryte using Teichmann’s test and Takayama’s test.

Abstract

ABSTRACTAtherosclerosis is a complex chronic disease characterized by the accumulation of lipid, trombosits, neutrophils, monocytes, and macrophages within arterial walls. Atherosclerosis could be induced in animal model ( Rattus novergicus ) by feeding atherogenic diet. The goal of this research was to analyze histopathological of coronary artery on male Rattus novergicus strain wistar after fed atherogenic diet for 5 weeks. This research was an experimental laboratory research with post test only with control design. Twelve male rats were segregated into two groups ( n=6 ) labelled as control fed standart and atherogenic group fed atherogenic diet containing cholic acid 0,2%, fat 5%, egg yolk 2% and induction with vitamin D3. After 5 weeks coronary artery was taken and histological slides were made and colored with Hematoxylin Eosin. The measured parameter were atherosclerosis lession score. The result showed 66% sampels that given standart diet and 100% sampels that given atherogenic diet showed atherosclerosis lession. The statistical test result showed there is no significant difference between control group and atherogenic group. ( p=0,328 ). The conclusion, atherosclerosis occurred in 4 sampels ( 66% ) of control group and 6 sampels ( 100% ) of atherogenic group. There was no significant difference in coronary artery histopathology Rattus novergicus between the control group with atherogenic group. Keywords : Atherosclerosis, atherogenic diet, coronary artery.

Abstract

ABSTRACTAtherosclerosis could be induced by feeding rats aterogenik dietcontaining high cholesterol and colic acid. For increasing atherosclerosis processvitamin D3 also given orally. Aim this research has an aims to analyze thedifference of coronary artery histopathologycal image between white rat strainwistar feeding by aterogenic diet and standard diet for 8 weeks. This is anexperimental laboratory research with post test only design. This research usedtwelve rats were segregated into two groups (n=6) labeled ads control; fedstandard diet and atherogenik fed diet ( containing colic acid 0,2%, fat 5%, andyolk 2%) and vitamin D3. The statistic test result do not show a significantdifference of atherogenic score of control group and atherogenic group. As theconclusion, feeding atherogenic diet for 8 weeks can induce the formation ofaccumulation of extracellular lipid in all samples of coronary artery of white rats, atheroma in 3 samples and thrombus 1 samples, while feeding standard diet justso atherosclerosis process on 4 samples, the formation of accumulation ofintracellular lipid in 1 samples and atheroma in 3 sample. Keywords : atherosclerosis, histopathology, atherogenic diet
