Abstract

  This research aims to produce a final product in the form of a performance-assessment instrument on Cell Structure and Function experiment. The development model is ADDIE. Based on expert's judgment, the instrument was valid and can be tested in the field. Field-test results shown that the product performs high validity and reliability value on measuring student performance on Cell Structure and Function experiment. Therefore, it is concluded that this performance-assessment instrument theoretically and practically has a good quality for measuring student performance in both process and product performance on Cell Structure and Function experiment. Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effect of group investigation learning  model and motivation on the students' learning result. The research employed a quasi experimental research with nonrandomized control group pretest-posttest design. The research used factorial design of 2x2. The population of this research was the first semester of seventh grade students. The sample used VII A and VII B class, samples were taken by using purposive sampling. The learning result data measured using of the tests and motivation data using of questionnaires. The data are analyzed using two-way(s) ANOVA. Test analysis showed that difference between post-test score of experiment class were higher than the control class. Based on the result, it can be concluded that: 1) the implementation of the group learning model investigation affect the students? learning result, 2) motivation also influences the student learning result. 3) There is no interaction between the group investigation learning  model and motivation on the students' learning achievement.   Keywords: Group Investigation, Motivation and Learning Result.

Abstract

The ability to solve problems is a skill that students need to have in dealing with various problems in life. This study aims to determine the effect of problem based learning models; cognitive styles and interaction between both factors on science learning outcomes of students in class VII of MTs 2 Tanjung Jabung Timur in academic year 2015/2016. This research was conducted with a quasi-experimental research method by applying a 2 × 2 factorial design. The study sample consisted of an experimental class of 30 students and a control class of 29 students. Data collection was conducted using two types of instruments, namely the Group Embedded Figures Test (GEFT) to measure students cognitive styles and students' learning outcomes test in essay forms. The Problem Based Learning model affect the learning outcomes, there is significant difference in science learning outcomes between students who have Cognitive field dependent (FD) style that is taught by the Problem Based Learning model and students who have Cognitive FD style that is taught by conventional learning models. The results show that the value of the experimental class post-test is higher than that of the control class. In short, the experimental class with the application of the Problem Based Learning model in the learning process provides higher learning outcomes than that of the conventional models.

Abstract

The adsorption isotherms of phenol from aqueous solution onto adsorbents obtained from egg shell (ESA) andpalm shell (PSA) were investigated. The objectives of the investigation were to understand the effect of bothadsorbents on solution pH and to study the adsorption equilibrium of phenol onto the adsorbents. The effect ofadsorbent on pH of solution was studied by shaking the adsorbent of 0.1 to 1.5 g with 100 ml of acidic aqueoussolution for 30 min at room temperature. The adsorption experiments were performed by stirring appropriateamount of adsorbent with 100 ml of 50 mg/l concentration of phenol at constant temperature and pressure. TheLangmuir and Fraundlich adsorption models were applied to experimental data and the isotherm constants werecalculated using linier regression analysis. The results showed that the adsorption capacity of the adsorbentsincreases with increasing of dosage and contact time. Also, pH of solution affected the adsorption isotherm ofphenol, where maximum adsorption was observed at pH values lower than 9.

Abstract

Research and this development is resulted interactive module to design materials the Elements of Periodic System to improve students? understanding by the concept of materials the Elements of Periodic System. Using the result of the development of materials the Elements of Periodic System makes effective learning base on responsiveness and knowledge of students. To test the feasibility this Audio-Visual Modules made on the basis of expert validation and testing of products in Grade Ten Science Class. Research and development of audio-visual modules by using this song technique is adapted from Lee & Owens with grooves Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The result of tests on the large groups, the skill of the students increased from 74.50 to 88.50 equal with 12%. The result of interviews showed that students responded very positively for an increased understanding by using song technique.

Abstract

The purpose of this developmental research was to develop a scientific approach based science worksheet on the dynamic electrical material topic for ninth-grade junior high school students. The worksheet were developed based on scientific approach. The stages include:  observing, asking questions, gathering information, processing information, and communicating. The development model used is the 4-D Model consists of 4 stages: define,  design, develop, and desimanate. The results of the validation, a small and large group trials indicated that the used of the scientific approach based science worksheet was appropriate for use. Thus, the developed worksheets can be used in the process of learning for Junior high school science students. Keywords : Worksheet , Scientific approach

Abstract

 ABSTRACT The effect of activation temperature and duration on the activity of petroleum coke has been investigated. A mixture of green coke and KOH (1:1) was heated in an oven furnace at 450°C for 1 h, then continued to activation process at 450-900°C for 1-3 h. The product mixture was immersed in a solution of 10% H2SO4 before being washed with deionized water to neutral pH. After being dried, activated cokes were tested with a solution of phenol, 4-nitrophenol, 2,4-dinitrophenol or methylen blue. Experimental data showed that the activity of coke imcreased with temperature and time. The effective condition of the activation process is at temperatures higher than 750°C and activation time of longer than 1,5 h. Adsorptive behavior of phenolics dan metylene blue onto activated coke agreed with Langmuir rather than with Freundlich isotherm.  Keywords: temperature effect, activation time, petroleum coke, adsorption capacity, phenolics, methylen blue.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuanmengembangkan e-modul menggunakan software 3D  Pageflip Professional untuk melihat respon siswa terhadap e-modul. Penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian pengembangan (R&D) yang menerapkan model ADDIE.Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi, wawancara dan angket.Produk hasil pengembangan divalidasi oleh tim ahli media dan materi selanjutnya diuji coba kelompok kecil.Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah sebuah produk e-modul menggunakan software 3D Pageflip Professionaldandapat disimpulkan bahwa produk dikategorikan sangat baik dan disarankan agar murid menggunakan produk ini untuk belajar mandiri.

Abstract

Local content mediated PBL model is a facility to make students active and also as a media to deliver massages in learning process that make an independent student. By knowing student?s learning style, the teacher can implement the suitable learning model. So it can increase the learning result. Based on the result of this research we found the effect of learning model of local content mediated PBL to the learning result. The learning result is different between students who have kinesthetic learning style and student who have auditory learning style. Given the existence interaction between learning models of local content mediated PBL and learning style to the student?s learning result it can be concluded that by knowing student?s learning style, the teacher can implement the appropriate lesson model that ultimately could increase students? learning result.

Abstract

A set of syllabus and lesson plans of science chemistry charaterizing group investigation (GI) model andenvironment as learning resources for 7th-grade students of SMP has been developed. The development theproduct was intended to design an active and joyful instructional process for 7th-grade students of SMP inlearning science chemistry. The procedure of the development adopted Hannafin and Peck model that consists ofthree phases. This model was started with a need assessment and analysis (phase 1), then was designing process(phase 2), and finally development and implementation in a real teaching (phase 3). According to experts thedeveloped products are characterized by GI with environmental media. The result of research showed that theproducts could improve student?s activities in learning process.
