Abstract

This project investigates the correlation between the organizational readiness in Albaha University (ABU) and the respective Critical Success Factors (CSFs) with regards to the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation. The investigation also considers some suggestions to improve the ABU?s ERP systems and roadmap towards the self ?development strategy and reduce vendor-dependency. A survey regarding ERP to the end-user, expert and developer in ABU was conducted. The analysis of the results in this work confirmed with the results of an existing work. The four significance success factors: Project Management, Business Process Re-engineering (BPR), System Integration, and Training and Education are recommended to be adopted to assure the smooth adoption of ERP at Albaha University

Abstract

Dewasa ini kebanyakan perusahaan memerlukan sistem informasi untuk keberhasilannya. Sistem informasi dapat membantu perusahaan memperluas jangkauannya sampai ke lokasi yang jauh, memperoleh bentuk dan aliran kerja baru, dan merubah cara berbisnis. Sistem informasi membuat perusahaan lebih cepat, menekan biaya, meningkatkan produktivitas dan profit. Dengan mengotomasi aktivitas yang biasanya dikerjakan manusia, maka sistem informasi juga dapat mengeliminasi pekerjaan manusia. Sistem informasi merupakan entitas sosio-teknis. Pengenalan sistem informasi yang baru mencakup lebih dari sekedar perangkat keras dan perangkat lunak. Selain itu juga meliputi perubahan-perubahan pada pekerjaan, ketrampilan, manajemen, dan organisasi. Dalam filosofi sosio-teknis, seorang tidak bisa memasang teknologi yang baru tanpa mempertimbangkan orang-orang harus bekerja dengannya. Sewaktu merancang ulang sistem informasi yang baru, berarti merancang ulang organisasi. Satu hal penting yang harus diketahui mengenai membangun sistem informasi yang baru adalah proses ini merupakan perubahan organisasi yang sudah terencana. Para pembangun sistem harus memahami bagaimana sistem bisa mempengaruhi organisasi secara keseluruhan, fokus terutama pada konflik organisasi dan perubahan dalam hal pengambilan keputusan. Abstract

Wireless sensor network (WSN) consists of sensor nodes which are deployed in the environment densely and randomly. The main constraint of these nodes is limited energy resources, so, the operations which are performed in the network, must be energy efficient. For this reason, routing and data transmission in these networks perform hierarchically and in multi hop manner. One of these hierarchical architectures which have a considerable positive effect on energy consumption is clustering algorithm. But what is important is that the cluster heads election should be done efficiently. Recently some works have focused on optimal cluster head election using Integer Linear Programming techniques. In this paper, Integer Linear Programming techniques are used to formulate the clustering problem.  At first, by using Integer Linear Programming techniques, a scalable and multi objective model for optimal cluster head selection is presented and then the distributed clustering algorithm is proposed. As shown in simulation results, the proposed clustering algorithm is more efficient in terms of energy vs. LEACH algorithm.

Abstract

Multimedia becomes one of the most wanted content in the modern Internet world. Since the Mobile Internet Protocol version 6 (MIPv6) was proposed, many researchers have tried to develop a new protocol based on this technology in order to improve the performance of mobile multimedia services. The world is emerging toward the Mobile Internet Protocol Television (MIPTV) era where people are enabled to watch television while roaming. The MIPTV technology requires high bandwidth and low latency handover. This paper proposes a new model of secure and robust handover with low handover latency, called SeamSAR. The model introduces a new way to perform home binding update and correspondent binding update simultaneously. Simulation results show that the proposed model reduced the handover latency to 63% compared to FMIPv6. Moreover, the secureness of the proposed model was verified using CMurphi simulator.

Abstract

Developments of modern technologies in electronics, such as communication, Internet, pervasive and ubiquitous computing and ambient intelligence have figured largely our life. In our day micro-electronic products inspire the ways of learning, communication and entertainment. These products such as laptop computer, mobile phones, and personal handheld sets are becoming faster, lighter in weight, smaller in size, larger in capacity, lower in power consumptions, cheaper and functionally enhanced. This trend will persistently continue. Following this trend, we could integrate more and more complex applications and even systems onto a single chip. The System-on-Chip (SoC) technologies, where complex applications are integrated onto single ULSI chips became key driving force for the developments.

Abstract

The need of effective and efficient method to retrieving non-Web-enabled and Web-enabled information entities is essential, due to the fact of inaccuracy of the existing search engines that still use traditional term-based indexing for text documents and annotation text for images, audio and video files. Previous works showed that incorporating the knowledge in the form of concepts into an information retrieval system may increase the effectiveness of the retrieving method. Unfortunately, most of the works that implemented the concept-based information retrieval system still focused on one information format. This paper proposes a multi-format (text, image, video and, audio) concept-based information retrieval method for Cloud environment. The proposed method is implemented in a laboratory-scale heterogeneous cloud environment using Eucalyptus middleware.  755 multi-format information is experimented and the performance of the proposed method is measured.

Abstract

Long Term Evolution (LTE) network offers a high throughput with low latency that makes it the best choice for Evolved Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (E-MBMS). E-MBMS transmits data to all users simultaneously using the same channel and same Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS) level. Each user experiences different channel condition, so an MCS level should be selected properly to satisfy all users. Typically, MCS level is selected on the basis of users worst channel condition which results in wasting network resources. Since the E-MBMS performance directly depends on the selected MCS level, an efficient Adaptive Modulation and Coding (AMC) scheme is essentially needed. This paper introduces a new mechanism that uses the Standard Deviation (SD) of MCS level of E-MBMS user group operated on single cell mode to efficiently select its optimal MCS level. Simulation results show that the proposed mechanism increase the spectrum efficiency, throughput, and lower Packet Loss Ratio compared to the Worst User Channel Condition mechanism and Fixed Predefined MCS mechanism.

Abstract

Kaffir lime (Citrus hystrix DC) is one of the Citrus species that is popular as food spices in Indonesia. This study was aimed at describing the production system, post-harvest handling, marketing and evaluating the product variation of kaffir lime cultivated in the Tulungagung district, East Java Province, Indonesia. Data was collected through a survey by interviewing kaffir lime farmers, distributors and customers in June 2018. Kaffir lime is cultivated by local farmers using traditional and conventional agriculture practices. The farmer used good quality seedlings as planting materials and applies animal manure or compost to the trees. Kaffir lime is grown on rain-fed land; fertilizers and pesticides are applied sparingly. The kaffir lime leaves could be harvested twice a year in different seasons. Better leaf quality can be obtained during the rainy seasons. The leaf production per tree is estimated at about 100 gram per plant per season. Post-harvest handling involved sorting, packing and marketing without any cooling treatment. The standard gate price of kaffir lime leaf in June 2019 was IDR 6,000-7,000, IDR 9,000-10,000 at the collector level, IDR 11,000-12,000 at wholesaler, and IDR 14,000-16,000 at small retailers. Leaves were distributed to traditional market in Tulungagung, neighbouring districts such as Kediri, Trenggalek and Blitar, and also to capital cities such Jakarta. The main product of kaffir lime is the fresh leaf for food seasoning and as a raw material to produce essential oil and dry leaf powder. The stems have been used for fuel in home industries. The fruits of kaffir lime are rarely found in the market and have great potentials for essential oil production and recently, a promising commodity for export.

Abstract

Limau (Citrus amblycarpa (Hassk.) Ochse) is one of the native Citrus species of West Java that is grown in the local backyard, thus is easily found in local cuisines. Limau has great potentials for use as a potted plant in home gardens for its aesthetic value and fragrance. The objective of this research was to describe the metabolites fingerprint and morphology of Limau as a potential functional and ornamental mini tree. Methanol leaf extracts from one-year-old Limau originated from Bogor were analyzed using untargeted Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GCMS). Methanol leaf extract was dominated by vitamin E and composed of other 18 metabolites including phytosterols, fatty acids and terpenes. The major portion of fruit extract consisted of 6-octadecenoic acid, palmitate and various fragrance compounds such as alpha sinensal, alpha limonene, beta citronellal, citronellol, and sabinene. Limau fruits are also a functional food due to its rich antioxidant and aromatic content in the fruits. The morphology of limau tree is suitable as a potted ornamentals or mini-fruits tree for its small crown, sparse branching with unifoliate aromatic leaves and small spines, and plentiful aromatics mini fruits with the diameter of around 2-4 cm.

Abstract

Black hole attack is an attack where a node that responds to RREQ from the source node by replying a fake freshness information and false hop count. The black hole nodes do not respond to distributed co-operation in routing protocol to absorb all the packets, as a result, the network performance will drop. Most previous works are focused on anomaly detection through dynamic trusted of the neighbouring nodes. We find out that the internal comparisons take a long time. This loss can be shortened by changing the routing mechanism. We propose an enhancement of AODV protocol, named EAODV, that is able to prevent black hole attacks. The EAODV can find a shortest path of routing discovery using A* heuristic search algorithm. Values of hop count and estimate time to reach the destination node are used as input in the heuristic equation and one-way hash function is used to make a secure value and then to casting it to all neighbouring nodes. Experiments were conducted in NS2 to simulate EAODV in different running time with and without black hole nodes. The EAODV performance results are indicated better in terms Packet loss and Average End-to-End delay.
