Abstract

The flexural strengthening of reinforced concrete beam can be consideredwith applied externally bonded steel plate or carbon fiber composite. This externalplate is bonded to the tension face of the concrete beam. Experimental study onreinforced concrete strengthening with Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plate (CFRP) hasbeen conducted to estimate the effectiveness of using CFRP on the concretestructure as flexural strengthening material and external reinforcement. Twobeams were provided in this study to test the flexural strengthening effect ofexternally bonded CFRP composite. One of them was used for normal condition(BKT). The other specimen is the reinforced concrete beam with single steelreinforcement and laminated CFRP (BKTC). On the second beam, CFRPlaminated on the bottom of beam with epoxy. Dimension of the beams are150/250 mm with effective length 1900 mm. All beams were tested using twopointloading to get pure bending in the middle span. The result of theexperimental research showed that the ultimate load of the beam with externallybonded CFRP( BKTC) is 49% higher than BKT; stiffness of the strengthenedbeam BKTC is 68% higher than BKT; and cracking moment of the strengthenedbeam BKTC is 50% higher than BKT. However, the deformation and ductility ofthe strengthened beam BKTC is lower than BKT 77.6% and 73% respectively.The failure phenomenon of the concrete beam with laminated CFRP is priordebonding CFRP that makes maximum performance of the CFRP not be reached.Key words : CFRP, flexural strengthening, debonding failure

Abstract

Safety is one of the minimum criteria that should be met on the toll road operation. Ideally, the level of safety of highway sections can be predicted even if the highway is still on the design stage. This paper aims to develop mathematical models that could be used to predict the number of accidents, by its level of severity, on inter urban toll road sections based on its average daily traffic per lane and section length. Two yearperiod of traffic and accident data were obtained from Jagorawi, Jakarta-Cikampek, Padaleunyi, and Palikanci toll road operators. Models were developed using the negative binomial regression method. The reluts show that the negative binomial regression gives desirable properties in describing the relationshipbetween the accident frequency and the average daily traffic per lane on each toll road section observed.Keywords: toll road safety, accident model, negative binomial regression.

Abstract

Road capacity guidelines of the developed countries can not be applied with success in Indonesia. Because, that guidelines are generally developed based on homogeneous traffic mainly consists of four-wheeled vehicles, so the presence of motorcycles can be ignored. In addition, traffic behavior patterns in Indonesia is different from that of  the developed world. For Indonesian case, guidelines which ignores the existence of motorcycle is clearly unappropriate, because the road traffic is dominated by motorcycles. The purpose of the study was to better understand the actual Indonesian traffic characteristics and driver behavior by taking into account heterogeneous traffic conditions. To achieve the objectives, models were developed for speed, capacity and delay at unsignalized T-intersections using streams of conflicting traffic as predictor. Analysis was done using regression techniques. The study produced speed models, aproach capacity models, and delay models for  unsignalized T-intersection as a function of traffic flow. The models can be used as tools for performance analysis of unsignalized T-intersection.

Abstract

The study aim was to develop models that can be used to assess the level of toll road traffic safety. Model development was done with a focus on microscopic traffic conditions in the form of hourly traffic flow, which was expected to represent the traffic conditions at the time of accidents. To achieve the research objectives,  data in the form of tollroad geometric characteristics, crash , and traffic volume, was collected from Jagorawi, Jakarta-Cikampek, Padaleunyi, and Palikanci toll road operators. Level of safety assessment models were developed from these data with generalized linear modeling (GLM) approaches, and calibrated using statistical techniques. This study successfully model the effect of hourly traffic flow and a number of toll road road geometry elements to the total accidents frequency. It was found that the negative binomial distribution fits to the data describing the incidence of traffic accidents on inter urban Indonesian toll roads.

Abstract

At Banaran, Sekaran intersection. Morning peak hour occurs before 7am, since the first classes begins at 7am. Generally, traffic flows decline after 12am. On site Origin-Destination pattern shows that south to north streams are dominant. There was single peak hour, 12:15-13:15. There are three alternatives based on Manual Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia (Indonesia Highway Capacity Manual). Firstly do nothing, secondly geometric enhancement and the latest is building a roundabout. First alternative will drive into saturated intersection. Whereas its degree of saturation will became 0,74 which closed to 0,75 saturated value. Second alternative is relative small impact in DS, reducing only 0,06 into 0,68. Meanwhile, selected roundabout alternative is reduce DS into mentioned directionN-E 0,25, E-S 0,25, S-W 0,24, W-N 0,27.Di Simpang Empat Lengan Banaran – Sekaran, peningkatan volume dominan terjadi sebelum jam 07.00 WIB, karena kegiatan perkuliahan jam pertama adalah jam 07.00 WIB, dan penurunan volume dominan terjadi setelah jam 12.00 WIB. Pola asal-tujuan menunjukkan pergerakan didominasi pergerakan Utara-Selatan, dengan asal pergerakan dominan dari Selatan. Hanya ada satu jam puncak, 12.15 – 13.15.Dari hasil perhitungan berdasarkan Manual Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia, alternatif pertama, yaitu alternatif dengan kondisi saat ini (do nothing), menghasilkan derajat kejenuhan (Degree of  Saturation=DS) sebesar 0,74, mendekati DS jenuh yang sebesar 0,75.  Perhitungan alternatif kedua, berupa perbaikan geometrik, pemberian rambu dan marka jalan hanya mampu menurunkan DS sebesar 0,06 menjadi 0,68. Alternatif ketiga sebagai alternatif terpilih, berupa jalinan bundaran, menghasilkan Derajat kejenuhan bagian jalinan arah U-T sebesar 0,25, T-S 0,25, S-B 0,24, B-U 0,27.
