Abstract

Abstract: The effectiveness learning model of think talk write on students? mathematical representation skills. This research aimed to find out the effectiveness of cooperative learning Think Talk Write type on students mathematical representation skills. The population of this research was all students of eighth grade in SMP N 1 Kotabumi in academic year of 2018/2019  as many as 244 students which were distriuted into eight classes. The sample of this research were all students of class VIII D as many as 32 students and VIII E as many as 32 students who were selected by cluster random sampling technique. The design which was used in this research was pretest-posttest control group design and the data collecting technique was test. The research data was the increasing score of mathematical representation skills that obtained through an essay test. Based on the result of proportion test and test using 0,05 of significance level, concluded that cooperative learning Think Talk Write type was not effective on students mathematical representation skills.Keyword: effectiveness, mathematical representation, think talk write Abstrak: Efektivitas model pembelajaran think talk write ditinjau dari kemampuan representasi matematis siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Talk Write ditinjau dari kemampuan representasi matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP N 1 Kotabumi semester genap tahun pelajaran 2018/2019 sebanyak 244 siswa yang terdistribusi dalam delapan kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII D dan VIII E yang dipilih dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah the pretest-posttest control group design dengan teknik penilaian menggunakan teknik tes. Data penelitian berupa skor peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis yang diperoleh melalui tes uraian. Berdasarkan uji proporsi dan uji  dengan taraf signifikan 5% diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa model pembelajaran Think Talk Write tidak efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan representasi matematis siswa.Kata kunci: efektivitas, representasi matematis, think talk write

Abstract

Abstract: The Effect of Guided Discovery Learning Towards Student?s Mathematical Problem Solving and Self-Efficacy. This experimental research aimed to find out of effect of guided discovery learning model towards student?s problem solving skill and self-efficacy. The population in this research was all students of grade 8th of SMPN 12 Bandarlampung in academic year 2018/2019 as many as 299 students, that distributed into ten classes. The student of class VIII B as many as 28 students and class VIII C as many as 31 students were selected as research samples by cluster random sampling technique. The design used in this research was the pretest-posttest control group design. The data in this research was quantitative data that obtained by mathematical problem solving test and self-efficacy scale. The  data were analized used -test and Mann-Whitney  test with . The result of analysis data was known that there?s been a change in the student?s problem solving skill and student?s self-efficacy. Those change indicate that there is an increase of the data student?s problem solving skill and student?s self-efficacy through guided discovery learning model was higher than the data of student?s problem solving skill and student?s self-efficacy through non-guided discovery learning model. So that, guided discovery learning model has effect towards the student?s mathematical problem solving skill and self-efficacy. Keywords: guided discovery learning, mathematical problem solving, self-efficacy Abstrak: Pengaruh Guided Discovery Learning Terhadap Pemecahan Masalah Matematis dan Self-Efficacy Siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model guided discovery learning terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan self-efficacy siswa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 12 Bandarlampung tahun pelajaran 2018/2019 sebanyak 299 siswa yang terdistribusi dalam sepuluh kelas. Siswa kelas VIII B sebanyak 28 siswa dan VIII C sebanyak 31 siswa terpilih sebagai sampel penelitian yang diambil dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Desain yang digunakan adalah pretest-posttest control group design. Data penelitian berupa data kuantitatif yang diperoleh dari hasil tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan skala self-efficacy. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji- dan uji Mann-Whitney  dengan . Dari hasil analisis data terdapat perubahan pada kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan self-efficacy siswa. Perubahan tersebut ditunjukkan dengan adanya peningkatan pada kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan self-efficacy siswa dengan model guided discovery learning yang lebih tinggi daripada data kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan self-efficacy siswa dengan model non-guided discovery learning. Dengan demikian, model guided discovery learning berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan self-efficacy siswa. Kata kunci: guided discovery learning, pemecahan masalah matematis, self-efficacy

Abstract

Abstract: The Effectiveness of The Problem Based Learning Model in Terms of Students Mathematical Communication Skills. This research aimed to examine the effectiveness of the problem based learning (PBL) model in terms of students mathematical communication skills. The samples of this research were students of VIII-D as many 32 students as experiment class and VIII-D as many 29 students as control class which were chosen by cluster random sampling technique. This research used randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The research data was obtained by test technique through mathematical communication skills tests instrument which form essay question. Reaserch data analized using One Side Proportion Test and Mann Whitney U test. By the rasults of data analysis the students who got score 71 or more of mathematical communication skill in PBL class were not more than 60% of all students in that class. Gain score mathematical communication skill who treated by PBL more than the students who treated by non PBL. The conclusion of this research is that the PBL model was not effective in term of students mathematical communication skills, but the student?s mathematical communication skills who took PBL  was higher than students who took non PBL. keywords: problem based learning, mathematical communication, effectivenes  Abstrak: Efektivitas Model Problem Based Learning Ditinjau dari Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis Siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model problem based learning ditinjau dari kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa.  Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII D sebanyak 32 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan siswa kelas VIII F sebanyak 29 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol yang dipilih dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Desain yang digunakan adalah randomized pretest-posttest control group design. Data penelitian diperoleh menggunakan teknik tes melalui instrumen tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis yang berbentuk uraian. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan uji Proporsi satu pihak dan uji Mann Whitney U. Dari hasil analisis data diperoleh bahwa siswa yang memiliki nilai kemampuan komunikasi matematis mencapai 71 setelah mengikuti model PBL tidak lebih dari 60%. Peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang mengikuti model PBL lebih dari peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang mengikuti model non PBL. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah model PBL tidak efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa, akan tetapi peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang mengikuti PBL lebih dari siswa yang mengikuti non PBL.kata kunci: problem based learning, komunikasi matematis, efektivitas DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v19i2.pp99-110
