Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to reveal a meaning that is built up in a phenomenon when someone is in- volved in the adventure of him/herself in the world of dance. The problem concerns on the processes of human life transformation  in a variety of activities that he has experienced along his journey in having a profession as a dance artist (dancer). This question is to know about what extent the con- sistency of being a dancer can contribute to a culture of life and the values of life which inherently exist in a person’s life in order to build awareness of his identity as a dancer. To solve this problem, the theory of cultural ideology approach is applied. Data analysis was performed with the dynamics in the life of a dancer which is generally supported by the author’s personal experience in dancing activity. Through a study of dancing activity and awareness of the dynamics of life experienced, understood, and internalized by a dancer then revealed an intensity of meaning that indicate the emergence of culture. The intensity of the culture was hammered into a potential or force inherent in the human person (the dancer). This gives meaning to the presence of cultural life values that can be identified as human existence itself. Keywords: intensity of culture, the world of dance, self-existence    ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap pemaknaan budaya yang terbangun dalam suatu fenomena ketika seseorang larut dalam petualangan dirinya dalam dunia kepenarian. Permasalahannya menyangkut proses kehidupan manusia yang menjelma ke dalam ber- bagai aktivitas yang dilampauinya sepanjang ia menekuni profesinya sebagai seniman tari (penari). Hal yang menjadi pertanyaan adalah sejauh mana konsistensi petualangan dunia kepenarian tersebut dapat memberikan kontribusi bagi nilai-nilai kehidupan membudaya, khususnya nilai-nilai yang melekat pada kehidupan pribadi manusia dalam rangka mem- bangun kesadaran atas jati dirinya sebagai seorang penari. Untuk memecahkan permasa- lahan tersebut digunakan pendekatan budaya dengan mengaplikasikan teori ideologi de- ngan perolehan data yang kemudian dicermati melalui analisis terhadap proses kehidupan penari pada umumnya serta didukung dengan pengalaman pribadi penulis yang sampai saat ini aktif berkecimpung selaku penari.  Melalui suatu kajian  terhadap aktivitas dalam kepenarian serta kesadaran terhadap dinamika kehidupan yang dialami, dipahami, dan dihayati oleh seorang penari maka terungkap suatu pemaknaan yang mengindikasikan munculnya intensitas budaya. Intensitas budaya tersebut terpatri menjadi sebuah potensi atau kekuatan yang melekat pada pribadi manusia (penari). Hal ini memberikan arti pada kehadiran suatu nilai yang dapat diidentifikasi sebagai eksistensi diri manusia. Kata kunci: intensitas budaya, dunia kepenarian, eksistensi diri

Abstract

Mabarung (competition) of performing art is a cultural heritage in North Bali and has highly contributed to the development of the Balinese art and culture. The tradition of mabarung of performing art which was created in Buleleng Regency constitutes the competitive arena of life in which every pebarung (the player who is involved) does his best to perform the best by optimally presenting the quality of his performance. Based on what was described above, it was necessary to reveal the tradition of mabarung of performing art in Buleleng Regency. The present study focused on the meaningfulness of the implied ideology of the mabarung of performing art in Buleleng Regency.  The result of the study showed that the cultural representation, which was actualized into the mabarung of performing art appeared from the ideas of the grass- root. The government interfered in the mabarung of performing art and a change took place; the mabarung of performing art which used to be freely performed was then performed as a festival/competition, causing the ideology it contained to change. The phenomenon of the mabarung of performing art reflected a self image; the players felt embarrassed if they lost ?majengah-jengahan?, performed differently from others, and felt too proud of themselves ?ajum?. In relation to that, it could be identified that the cultural representation which created the tradition of mabarung of performing art in Buleleng Regency was inspired by the ideology of freedom and self existence.

Abstract

Post-modernism appears as a critique of the worldview splendor which is more modernism with an open horizon and critical thinking in order to find a new meaning of a â??truthâ? that scrutinized from the phenomena of human life. The horizon boundary of post-modernism, which emerges the natural limits of modernist thoughts, makes the post-modern thinking that beyond the region denies the rationality. Regard to this, the art world long before had built a discourse about the meaning of life entrenched struggle involving taste and feeling that goes through the edge of imaginary territory. Art, then, inspires and opens the gate so that it establishes the horizon of philosophical dictum of postmodernism. Keywords : arts, modern, postmodern

Abstract

Penelitian dengan judul “Bentuk Tari Tepak Keraton Di Kota Palembang Provinsi Sumatera Selatan” adalahpenelitian kualitatif menggunakan metode deskriptif analisis dengan pendekatan teori koreografi. Metodepengumpulan data dengan observasi, studi pustaka, dan wawancara.Tari Tepak Keraton merupakan bentukkoreografi kelompok yang berfungsi sebagai penyambutan tamu di Kota Palembang Sumatera Selatan. Dalamkoreografinya menyuguhkan tradisi yang telah diwariskan secara turun-temurun yaitu sekapur sirih. Sekapursirih merupakan simbol penghormatan dan penghargaan terhadap tamu kehormatan. Tema tari yang mengangkatkejayaan Kesultanan Palembang Darussalam sebagai kerajaan Islam di Palembang dan adanya gerakan silatmenjadikan tari ini lebih istimewa daripada tari penyambutan lainnya.Kata Kunci: bentuk, tari Tepak Keraton.

Intensitas budaya tersebut terpatri menjadi sebuah potensi atau kekuatan yang melekat pada pribadi manusia (penari). Hal ini memberikan arti pada kehadiran suatu nilai yang dapat diidentifikasi sebagai eksistensi diri manusia. Kata kunci: intensitas budaya, dunia kepenarian, eksistensi diri
