Abstract

Kata Kunci: Ulkus Diabetikum, Pola Bakteri, Pola Resistensi, Sensitifitas, Antibiotik  ABSTRACTDiabetic ulcer is a condition of diabetes?s complication. These ulcers occur due to damage of nerve tissues and blood vessels caused by uncontrolled hyperglycemia. Lack of nutrition from blood vessels and decreased sensation due to nerve tissue damage facilitates ulceration of the infection. It is important to know how the pattern of bacteria and antibiotic?s resistance to improve disease?s prognosis. This research was conducted at X Hospital Riau in the 2015-2018 periods. The research data was obtained from the Microbiology Laboratory of X Hospital Riau. The results showed that Klebsiella pneumonia was the most infecting bacterium with diabetic ulcer patients at this hospital, which was 17.9%. Other bacteria that cause are Escherichia coli (16.5%), Staphylococcus aureus (16.5%), Acinetobacter baumanii (14.7%) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (8.7%). Antibiotic sensitivity tests show that Klebsiella pneumonia and Escherichia coli are most sensitive to ertapenem, meropenem, amikacin and tigecycline antibiotics. Staphylococcus aureus was found to be very resistant to cefoxitine. Acinetobacter baumanii sensitive to amikacin and tigecycline and Pseudomonas aeruginosa 100% resistant to ampicillin, cefazolin, ceftriaxone, tygecycline, and cotrimoxazole. Keywords: Diabetic Ulcer, Bacterial Pattern, Resistance Pattern, Sensitivity, Antibiotics

Abstract

Anemia in teenagers is mostly caused by low intake of nutrients, required for hemoglobin formation, that are iron (Fe), vitamin C and copper. Iron is needed to form heme part of hemoglobin, vitamin C is essential for hemoglobin formation and copper is required for iron absorption in the gastrointestinal tract. This study analytically conducted with cross-sectional study approach. Dietary iron, vitamin C and copper intakes were assessed using semi-quantitative Food Frequency Questioner (FFQ) forms, then daily consumption mean was assessed and processed using Nutrisurvey programme. Hemoglobin levels was measured by spectrophotometry using cyanmethemoglobin method. Samples of this study are 80 students that fulfilled the inclusion criteria. This study showed that 62,5% samples who had low intake of iron had hemoglobin levels of 52,5% normal, 10% anemia and 0% polycythemia. Around 53,75% samples that had low vitamin C intake had hemoglobin levels of 7,5% anemia, 46,25% normal and 0% polycythemia. Around 81,25% samples that had high copper intake had hemoglobin levels of 11,25% anemia, 70% normal and 0% polycythemia. In general, there is no significant correlation (p>0,05) between dietary iron, vitamin C and copper intakes towards hemoglobin levels in students class of 2014 at Faculty of Medicine, University of Riau.Key words: Iron intake, vitamin C, copper, hemoglobin levels

Abstract

ABSTRACTObesity is now recognized as one of most prevalent disease world-wide in both developed and developing countries. Body mass index (BMI) is the most simple and common index to describe body fat. Obesity can cause higher risk of cardiovascular disease, such as hypertension. The purpose of this study was to determine correlation between BMI and blood pressure. The design of this study was analytic cross sectional. Population of this study were all students of Medical Faculty of Riau University batch 2012 and 2013. Sampling technique used in this study was total sampling. Sample of this study were 242 students. The result of this study was 47,93% of subjects had normal BMI and 40,09% of subjects were overweight and obese. According to systolic blood pressure, 63,22% of subjects had normal systolic blood pressure and 36,78% of subjects were pre-hypertension and hypertension. According to diastolic blood pressure, 64,46% of subjects had normal systolic blood pressure and 35,54% of subjects were pre-hypertension and hypertension. This study showed there was significant positive correlation between BMI and blood pressure which the power of correlation was weak for BMI and systolic blood pressure (r = 0,302; p = 0,000) and the power of correlation was very weak for BMI and diastolic blood pressure (r = 0,171; p = 0,008).Keywords: body mass index, blood pressure
