Abstract

ABSTRACTThe aim of the study was to analyze the effects of torbangun flour-based functional supplementary food for breastfeeding mothers who received breastfeeding counseling on infant?s growth and exclusive breastfeeding practice The subjects were 20 pregnant women in their third trimester and were monitored until delivery and were given supplementary food for 30 days. Single blind randomized controlled trial was used to group subjects into intervention group (n=10) that was given supplementary food containing torbangun flour, and control group (n=10) with no torbangun flour. All subjects were given breastfeeding counseling two times before delivery and three times during supplementary food was given. The study showed that breastfeeding counseling significantly increased the knowledge and attitude of respondents on exclusive breastfeeding. In the intervention group, the average score of knowledge increased from 59.1±22.4 to 94.1±6.9 (p<0.05), while the attitude increased from 65.8±11.4 to 94.1±8.8 (p<0.05). In control group, the average score of knowledge increased from 75.0±11.8 to 94.4±7.2 (p<0.05), while the attitude increased from 75.0±14.4 to 94.4±11.0 (p<0.05). Supplementary food containing torbangun flour significantly caused shorter time in regaining infant?s birth weight. The average time was 5.1±1.4 days for intervention group, while the control group was 7.0±2.4 days (p<0.05). The success rate of exclusive breastfeeding practice in the intervention group was 90%, while in the control group was 80%.Keywords: exclusive breastfeeding, supplementary food, torbangunABSTRAKTujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis pengaruh pemberian makanan tambahan fungsional berbasis tepung torbangun pada ibu yang mendapat konseling menyusui terhadap pertumbuhan bayi dan pemberian ASI eksklusif. Subjek penelitian adalah 20 orang ibu hamil pada trimester ketiga yang diikuti hingga melahirkan dan diberikan makanan tambahan selama 30 hari. Desain single blind randomized controlled trial digunakan untuk menentukan produk makanan tambahan yang diberikan kepada ibu yaitu kelompok intervensi (n=10) mendapat produk yang mengandung tepung torbangun dan kelompok kontrol (n=10) mendapat produk tanpa tepung torbangun. Seluruh subjek diberikan konseling menyusui dengan frekuensi dua kali sebelum ibu melahirkan dan tiga kali selama pemberian makanan tambahan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konseling menyusui signifikan meningkatkan skor pengetahuan dan sikap responden tentang ASI eksklusif. Kelompok intervensi, rata-rata skor pengetahuan dari 59,1±22,4 menjadi 94,1±6,9, skor sikap dari 65,8±11,4 menjadi 94,1±8,8 (p<0,05). Kelompok kontrol, rata-rata skor pengetahuan dari 75,0±11,8 menjadi 94,4±7,2, skor sikap dari 75,0±14,4 menjadi 94,4±11,0 (p<0,05). Pemberian makanan tambahan yang mengandung tepung torbangun berpengaruh signifikan terhadap waktu yang lebih singkat untuk mencapai kembali berat badan lahir bayi yaitu 5,1±1,4 hari untuk kelompok intervensi sedangkan kelompok kontrol 7,0±2,4 hari (p<0,05). Selama waktu pemberian makanan tambahan, keberhasilan praktek pemberian ASI eksklusif pada kelompok intervensi adalah 90% sedangkan kelompok kontrol adalah 80%.Kata kunci: ASI eksklusif, makanan tambahan, torbangun

Abstract

The objective of this research were to analyze the effect of snack feeding, nutrition education, and iron supplementation to nutritional status, nutrition knowledge, and anemia status in elementary school students. The study was conducted in SDN Palasari 02 Kecamatan Cijeruk, Kabupaten Bogor, Jawa Barat. The design of this study was pre-post intervention study. The number of subjects were 81 students. The result showed that snacking did not give significant improvement on nutritional status (p>0.05). Nutrition education was significant in improving nutrition knowledge (p<0.05), while iron supplementation intake gave a significant improvement on anemia status (p<0.05).Keywords:

Abstract

Torbangun soup is made by traditionally recipe as Batak cuisine. A packaging technique has applied by canned the soup to produce Torbangun soup for commercially market. An antioxidant is added to prevent rancidity and to prolong shelf life of canned soup. Regarding to quality analysis, the shelf life of canned Torbangun soup is 14 days in room temperature. The effort has been done by storage the product in cool temperature (5 - 8°C and 10 - 12°C) and resulted in longer shelf life until 22 days. In spite of antioxidant adding, pasteurization at temperature of 75°C for 15 minutes prior canned can result on longer shelf life of the soup. However, can is metal and it might some hazard substance migrate into product. The study showed that the amount of the total residue migrate from can into soup is lower than 10 mg/dm2 allowing by the Directive 90/128/EEC for aqueous food simulant. A total migration test using 95% alcohol gave a value of 37.4435 mg/dm2, means higher than that EU standard as 10 mg/dm2. Keyword: Torbangun leaf soup, total migration, canning method

Abstract

Pemerintah Indonesia telah menyusun kebijakan nasional yang membatasi promosi susu formula bayi di kalangan tenaga kesehatan, yang merupakan adopsi dari International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Subtitues. Walaupun telah dikeluarkan kebijakan-kebijakan tersebut, tetapi masih dijumpai berbagai pelanggaran di kalangan tenaga kesehatan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan tindakan bidan terhadap kebijakan menyusui. Desain penelitian ini adalah cross sectional study. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Januari-April 2015 di Kota Bogor. Pada penelitian ini terdiri dari 39 bidan dan 76 ibu bayi. Pengetahuan bidan terhadap isi kebijakan tergolong rendah sedangkan sikap dan tindakan bidan tergolong baik. Variabel-variabel yang menunjukkan hubungan yang signifikan dengan tindakan bidan adalah lama pengalaman praktik, tempat kerja, tingkat pengetahuan dan sikap. Usia dan pendidikan bidan merupakan variabel yang tidak berhubungan signifikan dengan tindakan bidan. Lama pengalaman praktik, tempat kerja, tingkat pengetahuan dan sikap merupakan faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan tindakan bidan terhap pesan-pesan dalam kebijakan.

Abstract

Torbangun (Plectranthus amboinicus) merupakan tanaman obat dari keluarga Lamiaceae. Pada masyarakat Batak, daun torbangun digunakan untuk meningkatkan produksi air susu. Keragaman kandungan fitokimia dapat ditingkatkan salah satunya dengan teknik iradiasi sinar gamma untuk program pemuliaan tanaman. Pada penelitian ini, metode metabolomik yang tidak tertarget digunakan untuk mengevaluasi profil senyawa pada bagian daun tanaman mutan dari iradiasi sinar gamma dan kontrol. Kandungan senyawa planlet mutan dan kontrol dianalisis dengan GC-MS. Data GC-MS dianalisis dengan kemometrik dengan menggunakan hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA). Keragaman kandungan kimia ditunjukkan oleh planlet mutan dan kontrol daun torbangun. Hasil analisa planlet kontrol torbangun menunjukkan terdapat lima senyawa utama diantaranya hydroxymethylfurfurole (35,15%), brevifolin (7,69%), 3-Dihydro-3,5-Dihydroxy-6-Methyl-4H-Pyran-4-one (DDMP) (13,13%), stigmasterol (6,51%) dan ferruginol (8.63%). Hasil analisa mutan torbangun memiliki kandungan senyawa DDMP (19,57%), neophytadiene (8,47%), linolenic acid (9,10%), ferruginol (7,61%), stigmasterol (14,14%) dan gamma.-sitosterol (7,08%). HCA menunjukkan tiga komponen senyawa yang berbeda antara planlet kontrol dan mutan yaitu kenaikan kandungan senyawa DDMP dan stigmasterol, serta penurunan kandungan hydroxymethylfurfurole pada mutan torbangun.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was (1) to study the process of making carrot brem as an alternative source of b-carotene products, and (2) to study the chemical characteristics of carrot brem produced. The research was carried out during April-June 1999 at the Food Experimental Laboratory of Department of GMSK, Faculty of Agriculture IPB Bogor. Several levels of dextrin (27%, 30% and 33%) were added to the carrot juice to produce carrot brem in comparison to the addition of sticky rice to the carrot juice. The carrot brem produced was then analyzed for its chemical characteristics and was evaluated by 30 trained-panelist for its organoleptics performance. Abstract

Supplementary feeding program for needy student was designed to supplement target group's daily normal diet with the type of food nuded to alleviate their nutritional deficits. The location of the program was at the male and female students' dormitory of IPB Campus in Darmaga Bogor. The implementation of the program was started in November 2005 until June 2006. The result showed that the average of energy and protein intake of program participant increased significantly after the completion of the program. Accordingly, the prevalence of anemia in female students decreased while in male students the prevalence was constant. Moreover. average of serum ferritin of females increased while serum ferritin of males remained constant. After completion of the program, the number of underweight students decreased The number of female and male students who were shiftingfrom underweight to normal category was increased. Nutrition knowledge of students participant were categorized as good Academic performance (GPA) of student participants (3.01) indicated higher than non-participant (2.85).

Abstract

To minimize the effects of antinutrient contents in red bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L) two methods of drying were tested, i.e. oven and drum drier, to produce bean flour. The flour produced then was used as substitute ingredient to make cookies for baby food. The results of this study showed that drum drier are more effective than oven drier as indicated by chemicals and financial analyses. The 50% substitute of bean flour into cookies is preferred by panelists compared to 0% to 40%. This level of substitution has also the cheapest price in production cost. It is recommended that babies should eat 3-4 cookies per day to fulfill the nutrient requirement.

Abstract

The Objective of this study was to observe correlation of energy-protein consumption with blood glucose levels and blood pressure of primary school children in Kupang East of Nusa Tenggara province participating in school-feeding program. The result of the study showed that on the day without school feeding 99,6% (pre) and 97% (post) of children had normal blood glucose levels and 86,3% (pre) and 87,2% (post) of children had normal systolic blood pressure but 78,2% (pre) and 68,4% (post) of children had hypotension of diastolic blood pressure. While on the school-feeding day 100% (pre and post) of children had normal blood glucose levels, 85,5% (pre) and 86,8% (post) of children had normal systolic blood pressure and 95,3% (pre) and 95,7% (post) of children had hypotension of diastolic blood pressure. There was 0,4% (pre) and 3% (post) of children had hypoglicemic status. The means of energy-protein consumption indicated that most of the children had a severe deficit of energy-protein intakes. On the day without school-feeding 32,1% and 47,4% of children had a severe deficit of energy-protein intakes. That percentages were raised on the school-feeding day. While on the school-feeding day 49,6% and 57,7% of children had a severe deficit of energy-protein intakes. The Spearman�s analysis showed that between energy-protein intakes and blood glucose levels as well as blood pressure were not significantly correlated.Keyword: consumption, glucose, blood pressure

Abstract

  ABSTRACT        This research was carried out on 1 until 11 August 2018 in Tanjung Bunga Village, Pangururan District, Samosir Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine how much investment and income costs, analyze how business feasibility is reviewed based on the investment criteria of the KJA business with Scale I, namely 10 cages, Scale II 20 cages, and Scale III 30 cage bags. This study also aims to see how the sensitivity of KJA business is seen from the investment criteria          The results showed that the total investment for the KJA Scale I business was IDR. 262.798.000, Scale II was IDR. 492,450,000 and Scale III was IDR. 752,890,000. Whereas for income per year or 2 times the production period for KJA business on a scale I is IDR 163,344,000, and for scale II is IDR.380,000,000 and scale 3 is IDR. 547,400,000. Based on the results of the calculation of investment criteria obtained, the NPV value of KJA scale I business is IDR. 499.702.702 and the scale II business is IDR. 1,364,825,240 and the scale III business is IDR. 1.919.739.480 for 10 years. BCR for scale I is 1.21, and KJA scale II was 1.31, and KJA scale III was 1.34. KJA business IRR scale I is 48,5% and scale II is 50,8% and business scale III is 51,2%. (IRR> i), meaning that the IRR value is greater than the highest interest rate per year.          From the results of the calculation of sensitivity analysis within 10 years of the three types of KJA business scale, it can be concluded that the KJA business will experience a loss if there is an increase in cost (cost) of 10% and production has decreased by 10% in the fourth scenario. Where the NPV value of the three business scales is still positive, BCR is <1, and the IRR is smaller than the highest interest rate per year, then the business is better stopped if the KJA business experiences something like this. Keywords: Floating Net Investment, Investment, Business Analysis, Sensitivity Analysis.
