Abstract

Abstract: The success of national education goals in particular should pay attention to the educational component of human resources. One effort to improve the quality of schools can be done by strengthening teacher’s work commitment with taking into account the principal’s leadership and work motivation of teachers. Based on these problems, this study aims to determine and analyze influence of principal leadership and work motivation of teachers to work commitment of teachers in SDIT Ummul Quro’ in the Bogor. Instrument testing methods used SPSS software 16.00 and the hypothesis testing used structural equation model (SEM) with Smart PLS software. Characteristics of teacher respondents SDIT Ummul Quro’ is dominated by women, married, educated bachelor, aged 30–39 years and has worked in SDIT Ummul Quro’ for 8–15 years. One way ANOVA test results and treatment outcome descriptive that there was no difference in the commitment of teachers working for gender, age, education level, marital status and duration of work.The results of frequency distribution shows that the majority of respondents have a good perception on school leadership, teacher work motivation and work commitment of teachers. Based on the analysis of SEM with PLS approach, it is known that principal leadership significantly influence teacher’s commitment to work, either directly or through the first teacher work motivation. Furthermore, in Model 1 principal leadership variables significantly influence the work motivation of teachers and the work motivation of teachers was ultimately significantly affect teacher’s work commitments. It can be concluded that the principal leadership variables and the work motivation of teachers significantly influence teacher’s work commitments.   Keywords: principal leadership, teacher work motivation, commitment work teacher, Partial Least Squares (PLS).

Abstract

This research interests to analyze factors affecting the organizational culture and job satisfaction and how far it affects the organizational commitment of the administrative staff of Indonesia open university (UT). This research uses a sample of 150 administrative staff in the main office to represent the entire class based on the existing population by using stratified random sampling method. Data obtained were analyzed by using structural equation modeling (SEM) with the help of LISREL 8.30 software. SEM analysis results reveal that the factors influencing the UT?s organizational culture are leaders appreciate ideas, accommodate ideas and suggestions, good ideas are not always responded by the top level for the leaders are not close enough to employees, institutions award when problems solved, leaders receive wise advice, institutions specifically encourage improvements in the workplace, and expects to increase and practice the valid work unit procedures. The factors that influence the job satisfaction in UT are being satisfied with the remuneration paid, promotion opportunities, praise, leaders? skills, leaders? assertive acts, the work environment, and coworker relationships. Organizational culture and job satisfaction have directly and significantly positive effect on organizational commitment of the UT?s administration staff. These findings indicate that the more adaptive organizational culture and the higher job satisfaction, the higher organizational commitment for UT?s administrative staff.   Key words: organizational culture, job satisfaction, organizational commitment

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of work culture and motivation on performance. This study uses secondary data and primary data which was collected through questionnaire’s survey from the government employees of Indonesian Agency for Agricultural Research and Development, Ministry of Agriculture. The population in this study a number of 7525 people, while the samples are taken as 176 respondents who are civil servants Balitbangtan. The method of analysis using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis. According to the method of Partial Least Square (PLS), work culture and motivation have a significant impact on performance. The study also showed that the most dominant factor influencing performance is the motivation. According to this result, Balitbangtan need to continue to improve the application of cultural values and motivation of civil servants because they have a direct impact on performance. Support from the systems, policies, and budgets is required to achieve good performance of employees, which is one indicator of the success of bureaucracy reform program.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyzing the Strategies for fulfillment animal nutritionist competency at feedloter in Indonesia. Methods in this study using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The data collection technique was conducted by judgement sampling to seven competent resource persons in the field of animal feed they are feed director in Ministry of Animal Health and Husbandry Republic of Indonesia, Chairman AINI and Director of the competency development and certification AINI period 2015-2019, Academics of lecturer in ransum formulation, operational manager and animal nutritionist in industry feedlot. The questions posed to the resource persons include factors, actors, goals and alternatives that most decisive in the fulfillment animal nutritionist competency at feedloter in Indonesia. The results of the AHP indicate that individual competence factors are critical in the strategy of the needs of livestock animal nutritionist. The Indonesian Association of Nutrition and Feed Technology (AINI) is actor the most influential in fulfilling the needs of animal nutritionist. AINI can conduct competency-based training, skills and knowledge development, latest technological innovations in ration making, and certification of competence of animal nutritionist to enhance individual competence. The alternative that a feedloter should do is to adapt the competency standards policy that exists in our country. It is concluded that the Strategies for fulfillment animal nutritionist competency at feedloter in Indonesiacan be fulfilled through the individuals as animal nutritionist, role of AINI increasing the competence of animal nutritionist, and the application of customized Indonesian welfare in Indonesia.

Abstract

Open University (UT) is the first university used distance learning systems. Therefore, some important aspects that must be possessed by students in this learning system is the desire and ability to learn independently, and then motivation to progress and develop. Distance teaching and learning process is basically addressed to the readiness and motivation of students to study independently. This study uses two-factor theory of motivation namely intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. Therefore, in facing the problem of student motivation, UT needs to provide excellent service to support and motivate the student. To achieve an excellent service UT must have certain skills in human resources. Based on the existing problems, the purpose of this study were to analyze the affect of intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation, and excellent service toward the satisfaction of a student graduate at Management Study Program, Economic Faculty of Open University. This study used crosstabs and multiple regression analysis.  From the analysis showed that significantly the affect between intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation, excellent service, and dummy variable of graduation period, and education level.   Key words:  intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation, excellent service, student graduate satisfaction

Abstract

 Improving public sevice can be achieved by having employees who have high organizational commitment. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of leadership style and work motivation to organizational commitment on employee of maritime affairs and fisheries education center. The effects were directed to diffrerentiate between transactional & transformational leadership. The sample in this reseach consist of 35 employee of maritime affairs an fisheries education center. The sampling used purposive sampling, data collection methods with questionaires. The data was processed by using Smart PLS with relation of reflective indicator at 95% confidence level. The result shows that the leadership is not significant enough to effect the organizational commitment. Leadership has significantly effect on work motivation, while work motivation has significantly effect on organizational commitment.

Abstract

Department of Management in Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), is one of the academic units in IPB that supports the achievement of IPB?s objective to become a world class university. To support such objective, evaluation is conducted by monitoring activity and performance measurement using Balance Scorecard (BSC) approach. The purpose of this study was to determine priority of perspectives and strategy objectives by using Analytical Network Process (ANP) method, measure quality assessment performance in Department of Management year 2015, establish strategic inisiatives, and to figure Departement of Managements? strategy map using Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) Method. The result of this study indicated that the main priorities of the four perspectives had been defined: Research and Academic Excellence perspective, Stakeholders perspective, Internal Business Processes perspective and Capacity Building perspective. Performance measurement resulted that 10 from 24 performance indicators didn?t achieve the target, and set 10 strategic initiatives to support strategy objective target achievement. Strategy mapping using ISM indicated that strategy objective ?Lecturers? and academic staffs? competency strengthening? was the key element to support other strategy objectives achievement.

Abstract

Employee engagement is one of the keys to the success of a company to achieve its vision and mission optimally. This research was conducted to analyze the effect of quality of work-life and job satisfaction on employee engagement in each generation at PT. Yudhistira Ghalia Indonesia. The analytical tools were Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Square and Multi-group Analysis. The results show that the quality of work-life had a significant positive effect on job satisfaction and employee engagement of Generation X and Generation Y; job satisfaction had a significant positive effect on employee engagement of Generation X and Generation Y; generation did not act as a moderator (moderating variable), it means the strong-weak influenced between latent variables did not depend on generation. The analysis implied that the improvement of the quality of work-life and job satisfaction would increase employee engagement of Generation X and Generation Y at PT. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis pengaruh kualitas kehidupan kerja (quality of work life) dan kepuasan kerja (job satisfaction) terhadap keterlekatan pegawai (employee engagement) pada setiap kelompok generasi di PT. Yudhistira Ghalia Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metodelogi analisis, yaitu Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Square dan Multigroup Analysis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kualitas kehidupan kerja berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap kepuasan kerja dan keterlekatan pegawai (employee engagement) pada Generasi X dan Generasi Y; kepuasan kerja berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap keterlekatan pegawai pada Generasi X dan Generasi Y; generasi tidak berperan sebagai moderator (variabel moderasi) yang bermakna kuat-lemahnya pengaruh antara variabel laten tidak tergantung pada generasi. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah dengan PT. Yudhistira Ghalia Indonesia meningkatkan kualitas kehidupan kerja dan kepuasan kerja, pegawai Generasi X dan Generasi Y dengan keterlekatan pegawai yang tinggi pun akan meningkat.
