Abstract

Overweight is an unbalanced nutritional status due to excessive nutritional intake resulting in an energy imbalance that can cause health problems. More nutrients that arise in adolescence tend to continue into adulthood and the elderly. Nutritional status in adolescents can indicate the level of nutritional problems that occur, namely problems regarding daily intake in adolescents. Fulfillment of daily care in adolescents impacts on body weight so it needs to be considered related to the expenditure of energy required, one form that can be done can be in the form of physical training in the form of aerobic exercise such as jogging. Jogging is included in cardio or aerobic exercise which has the benefit of increasing fitness and burning fat in the process of weight loss. This research is a type of analytic research with quasi experimental design with a pre-post test control group design. This research was conducted in the presence of a treatment group and a control group. This research was conducted for 12 weeks, namely in August-September 2017. Based on statistical tests conducted using the One Way Anova test with Post Hoc Games - Howell, showed that in the treatment group that is the regulation of daily nutrient intake (carbohydrates, fats, fiber) with jogging compared to the control group ie breakfast consumption in students without jogging exercises can affect changes in body weight that is indicated by a decrease in body weight in students, this can be seen from the value of p 0.032 which indicates a significant change in weight loss in students.The effect of the breakfast consumption control group with the treatment group daily intake of food and jogging on weight loss in overweight adolescents.

Abstract

The purpose of the research was to develop a model tools swing that can be used to swing training for men's athlete woodball beginner and advanced level with the aim to improve the skills of swing movement. This equipment can be used for practicing male woodball on beginner advanced men's level. This study used a qualitative approach for model development. The data collected in this study either at initial as well as trial stages were qualitative data. The main procedure in the research and development consists of five steps, namely: (1) analyze product to be developed; (2) develop early product; (3) Validation by the expert; (4) The field trials; (5) Revision of product. The results of this study concluded that the development model of swing training can be used to (1) improve the skills of swing motion for men's athlete woodball beginner and advanced level; (2) As a means of training for men's athlete woodball beginner and advanced level. Abstract

Endurance athletes are required to consume beverages containing electrolytes and carbohydrates during and after exercise or during the match. Palm sugar is also one type of natural sugar that contains glucose and fructose and has a low glycemic index. The type and design of this research was true experimental research with double blind. The experiment in this research is 2 groups, group of jogging with brown sugar water and group of jogging with plainmineral water with a sample of 32 people who are members of Spiji Football Club. This study was conducted in April 2007. The results obtained that the jogging exercise with brown sugar water and plain mineral water have an effect to improve the physical fitness of students offootball club. Based on data analysis, it can be seen that jogging exercise with brown sugar water treatment with mean equal to 3,54, this is higher than jogging with plainmineral water which was 2,94. Based on result of unpaired T test it was obtained result of significance as p = 0,123 which mean that it has no significant difference. Jogging exercise with brown sugar water intake can improve physical fitness higher than jogging practice with plainmineral water but has a insignificant difference Keywords: carbohydrate drinks; brown sugar water; physical training; physical fitness

Abstract

Background:Diuretics are medicine that increase the amount of  urine volume. Propolis has 150 compounds that have biological activities, one of the is flavonoid. Flavonoid known to has diuretic effect. Methods:The research is a laboratory experimental analytic study using randomized controlled trial done at Laboratory of Setia Budi University Surakarta in June 2012. The research subject is a number of 35 male white rats of Wistar strain. They were divided into five treatment groups, each group consists of seven rats. Simple random sampling is used for sampling technique. Before the treatment,  rats were adapted for 7 days and fasted for 48 hours but still provided with drinking water. Propolis extract was given orally. Group I was given aquadest 2.5 ml as negative control, group II was given hydrochlorothiazide 0.3 mg/2.5 ml as positive control, group III was given propolis extract at dose 30 mg/2.5 ml as dose I, group IV was given propolis extract at dose 60 mg/2.5 ml as dose II, and group V was given propolis extract at dose 120 mg/2.5 ml as dose III. Rats urine volume was measured every 6 hours for 24 hours. Results:Result of statistic calculation using Anova test with p < 0.05 shows that there is significant difference in total rats urine volume between group I, II, III, IV, and V. The Post-Hoc test result between group I compared with the others group was significant difference.Group II has the largest urine volume from all groups. Group III has the largest urine volume among the groups that given propolis extract. Group IV has larger urine volume than group V and group V has the least urin volume among the groups that given propolis extract. Conclusions:Through observing amount of urine volume and statistic calculation, it can be concluded that propolis extract has diuretic effect in the male white rats.The increase of propolis extract dose cause the decrease of urine volume. Abstract

Background: Celery (Apium graviolens L.) is known has some biochemical substances effect such as kalium nitrat, manitol, and apigenin/flavonoid which can result diuretic effect. This research aims at finding out the diuretic effect of celery extract (Apium graviolens L.) on the male white rats (Rattus norvegicus). Methods: The research is a laboratory experimental analytic study using the Randomized Controlled Trial design. The research subject is a number of 30 male white rats of Wistar Strain, 200 grams of body weight. They were divided into five treatment groups randomly. Group I was given 3 mL aquadest as negative control, group II was given 0,32 mg/3 mL hydrochlorotiazid as positive control, group III was given 1,2g/3 mL celery extract as dose I, group IV was given 2,4g/3 mL celery extract as dose II, and group V was given 4,8g/3 mL celery extract as dose III. Rats urine volume was measured every 4 hours for 16 hours. Results:The result of statistic calculation using ANOVA test with p = 0.000 (p < 0.001) shows that there are significant differences in total rats urine volume between group I, II, III, IV, and V in every observation time. The Post-hoc test shows significant differences between negative control and three dosages of celery extract (p < 0.05), and the similarities between positive control and three dosages of celery extract (p > 0.05). Conclusions: Through observing amount of urine volume and statistic calculation, it can be concluded that there is diuretic effect of celery extract on the male white rats. Celery extract at dose 2,4 g/3 mL has the highest diuretic effect but celery extract at 1,2 g/3 mL has the optimum diuretic effect. Keywords: Celery extract, diuretic effect, hydrochlorotiazid

Abstract

Background: Belimbing wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi Linn.) contains apigenin and luteolin as natural flavonoids, and antioxidants that may increase testosterone levels. Apigenin and luteolin increase testosterone levels by enhancing StAR (Steroidogenic Acute Regulatory) activity. Antioxidant protects cell from oxidative stress caused by ROS (Reactive Oxygen Species). This study aimed to evaluate the effect of variation dosage of Belimbing Wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi Linn.) ethanolic extract on free testosterone levels in rats (Rattus norvegicus) Methods: This  was a pure experimental study with randomized post test only controlled group design. Samples were 24 male Wistar strain rats, 8-10 weeks aged and weighted ± 200 g on average. Samples were randomly divided into 4 groups, each group consists of six rats. Group K were given aquadest for 14 days. Group P1, P2, P3 were given ethanolic extract of belimbing wuluh orally at dose 57 mg/200 g body weight of rats, 114 mg/200 g body weight of rats, and 228 mg/200 g body weight of rats for 14 days. At 15th, blood were drawn from retroorbitalis plexus using microtubuler tube and free testosterone level were measured. Free testosterone levels of rats were measured by using ELISA (Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay) method. Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA test (α = 0.05). Results: Mean free testosterone levels in group K was 2.40 ± 2.02 ng/ml; in group P1 was 1.76 ± 1.01 ng/ml, in group P2 was 1.58 ± 0.53 ng/ml and in group P3 was 1.68 ± 0.64 ng/ml. Results for one-way ANOVA test showed no mean different (p=0.642). Conclusions: There were no effect between variation dosage of belimbing wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi Linn.) ethanolic extract on free testosterone level in rats (Rattus norvegicus). Abstract

Background: Pain is a symptom of a disease that many felt by the people, the prevalence of pain in adults reach to 40% per day, while 89% felt the pain episode at least once a month. To overcome the pain that arises, people often use drugs is to reduce pain or analgesic. This research aims to find out whether there is an analgesic effect of kemangi extract (Ocimum sanctum L.) against the white mice (Rattus norvegicus). Methods: This research uses experimental methods to the post test only control group design. The research at the University of Setia Budi Surakarta performed. The subject of this research is 25 tail of a white mice (Rattus norvegicus), 3 months old with average weight 200 grams. First, subject adapted for 1 week, then not given to eat and drink for 18 hours before the treatment. The subject is divided into 5 groups. The negative control group was given aquades, while the positive control group was given aspirin. The third treatment group each got kemangi extract dosage of 225 mg/200 g body weight, 450 mg/200 g body weight, and 675 mg/200 g body weight. Pain induction method used is a medium hot plate, and then calculated the frequency jumps. The data obtained and analyzed by One-Way ANOVA and LSD. Results: The results of One-Way ANOVA test showed a significant difference between the five treatment groups. LSD test results showed a significant difference between the negative with the positive control group. Positive control group treated with the first and second doses showed a significant difference, but with the third dose treatment group showed no significant difference. This shows that only the third dose group has the analgesic effects. Conclusions: Of the three groups treated with kemangi extracts, only the third dose treatment groups shows analgesic effect on white mice. Keywords: kemangi extract, analgesic effects

Abstract

Interval training intensity and endogen antioxidant activityBackground: Physical training increases free radical generation which is balanced by endogenous antioxidant generation e.g. SOD (superoxide dismutase) and GPx (glutathione peroxidase). This later is influenced by intensity, duration, muscle type and age. The aims of this study is to compare the three kinds of interval training intensity in enhancing SOD and GPx activity.Method: An experimental quantitative study with the posttest only control group design was used in this study. Thirty six students of JPOK-FKIP Sebelas Maret University were randomly selected to become the experimental subjects and divided into four groups (1) intensive repetition runing 10x50 m, (2) extensive repetition runing 3x400 m, (3) continuous aerobic training past running 30 minutes, and (4) controlled group. The interval training were treated 3x per week for 8 weeks. At the 8th week SOD and GPx activity were determined by using enzymatic method with Cobas Mira instrument. The t-test with SPSS 13.0 for window program was use for analyzing all collected data with 95% CI.Result: There were significance difference the SOD and GPx activity between extensive repetition group with controlled group (p<0.05).Conclusion: The extensive repetition intensity is the significance for enhancing the enzymatic activity of SOD and GPx to compare with control group, and have the higher level than intensive repetition and continuous aerobic training.ABSTRAKLatar belakang: Latihan fisik meningkatkan pembentukan radikal bebas yang diimbangi peningkatan pembentukan antioksidan endogen seperti SOD (superoxide dismutase) dan GPx (glutathione peroxidase). Pembentukan antioksidan SOD dan GPx dipengaruhi oleh intensitas latihan, durasi, jenis otot yang dilatih dan umur. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk membandingkan tiga kelompok intensitas latihan interval yang meningkatkan aktivitas enzim SOD dan GPx.Metode: Jenis penelitian kuantitatif?eksperimental menggunakan rancangan penelitian the posttest only control group design. Subyek penelitian diambil secara acak sederhana (n=36), dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok (1). K1: intensive repetition lari 10x50 m, (2). K2: extensive repetition lari 3x400 m, (3). K3: continuous aerobic training lari cepat 30 menit; (4). K4: kelompok kontrol. Latihan interval dilakukan 3 kali/minggu dilakukan berkesinambungan selama 8 minggu berturut-turut. Pada minggu ke delapan diambil 5 mL darah untuk diperiksa aktivitas SOD dan GPx menggunakan metode enzimatik dengan alat Cobas Mira. Analisis data dengan uji t menggunakan program komputer SPSS 13.0 for Window dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95%.Hasil: Terjadi perbedaan bermakna kadar SOD dan GPx pada extensive repetition dengan kelompok kontrol (p<0,05).Simpulan: Aktivitas enzim SOD dan GPx paling tinggi pada latihan interval extensive repetition dibanding intensive repetition dan continuous aerobic training, dan berbeda bermakna dengan kelompok kontrol.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk: (1) Menghasilkan desain prototipe alat bantu mengayun agar dapat digunakan dalam latihan mengayun bagi atlet woodball putra tingkat pemula dan lanjutan, (2) Menguji desain alat bantu mengayun dapat efektif digunakan atlet untuk meningkatkan keterampilan gerakan mengayun. Langkah-langkah yang digunakan dalam prosedur pengembangan adalah: (1) Potensi dan Masalah, (2) Pengumpulan Data, (3) Desain Produk, (4) Validasi Desain 2 ahli woodball dan 2 ahli peralatan, (4) Perbaikan Desain, (5) Uji Coba Produk 6 atlet, dan (6) Uji Coba Pemakaian 10 atlet. Produk akhir model alat bantu mengayunSwing Trainer yang dapat digunakan untuk latihan gerakan mengayun. Hasil validasi alat dari rubrik penilaian ahli woodball dan ahli peralatan mendapatkan skor 92 (tepat) sedangkan hasil efektivitas model model alat bantu mengayun didapatkan dari hasil penilaian ahli woodball pada uji coba skala kecil dan uji coba skala besar dengan mendapatkan skor rata-rata atlet dapat melakukan keseluruhan gerakan mengayun dan sebanyak 16 atlet menyatakan alat bantu mengayun efektif digunakan untuk latihan gerakan mengayun.The purpose to: (1) to generate a prototype design tools that can be used to swing in swing training for beginner and advanced mens level, (2) to test swing design tools can be effectively used to improve the skills of swing motion. Here are steps of procedure developmet: (1) Potention and problems, (2) Data/information collection, (3) product design, (4) Design validation 2 woodball expert and 2 tools expert, (5) Upgrading design, (6) Product experiment 6 athletes, and (7) Aplication experiment 10 athletes. The result of this research is a product, this final product is a tools swing swing trainer which can be used for swing training. The tools validation result is obtained from an assessment rubric from woodball expert and tools expert with the score 92 (exact). Meanwhile the efectiveness resulf a tools swing prototype is obtained from an assessment result by woodball expert in small scale experiment and large scale experiment. From those experiments, the average score of athletes can do the whole swing motion and there are 16 athletes clarify that tools swing is an effective tool to be used in swing movement practice.

Abstract

That background for this research is the ability in mastering the technical skills led mainly led slalom and pass in football where before conducting research there are a number of athletes who do not really optimal in mastering the technical skills, this has happened to the son of middle-level athletes in the School of Football (SSB ) in Banda Aceh. This study aims to developt a wide range of draft model design engineering skills training, preparing in the manufacture of the initial product, carry out test small group, large group test, and implement test the effectiveness of the product, so as to obtain results in the form of improved quality of training and technical mastery of athletes, especially herding slalom and pass the football at the middle school level athletes sons Football (SSB) in Banda Aceh.Research development or better known as the research and development carried out at the School of Football (SSB) Real Madrid Foundation RMF-Aceh, and the School of Football (SSB) Young Stars Banda Aceh. The subjects of the study is the son of middle-level athletes who numbered 44 athletes from SSB Real Madrid Foundation, and 22 athletes from Young Stars SSB Banda Aceh. Test phase was conducted in a small group of Young Stars SSB, followed by a large group test conducted in SSB Real Madrid Foundation Aceh. While the implementation phase of product effectiveness test conducted in SSB Real Madrid Foundation and the Young Stars SSB.This study was able to develop the skills training model figure terutamamodel herding techniques slalom skills training and pass the intermediate level athletes sons School Football (SSB) in Banda Aceh. Results mastery of skills training models herding techniques and pass the slalom obtained based on: 1) Summary data of the percentage of questionnaires and validation by a number of experts who obtained an average score of 67% and 73%, and it was included in the category of pretty valid, means that the product model of skill training and pass the slalom herding techniques in football can be used and applied as a model practice guidelines on SSB son of middle-level athletes. Percentage data model results in ujicobakan in small groups derived from mastery of technical skills training model of the athletes which amounted to 81.10%, which means that a valid use, and a large group gained mastery of skills training models herding techniques slalom and pass in football is at 85.34 % means that the product is valid to use, so it can be interpreted as if the models developed in real capable of delivering results, and a very remarkable contribution accurate, especially in the mastery of technical skills training models led slalom and pass in football.Thus, to interpret the results of the development of a model for a given treatment group, in which case there is a significant difference between the groups before being given treatment when compared with the group after being given treatment. Based on data from the pretest-posttest athlete shows some results of technical mastery skills training models amounted to 62.27%, and thereafter the product models (the process of treatment) then the effect of increased very significantly to the mastery of technical skills training model products to get the results of 67.27%. Differences in the form of percentage figures is a result of the result of the provision and application of product models (such as treatment), where the impact of a given product models and demonstrate a very significant effect on the deeper levels, in terms of mastery of product models mainly herding engineering skills training models slalom and pass in football.Keywords: model design exercise, soccer, herding slalom, pass, treatment, and research development
