Abstract

Sea grass is a group of flowering plant, leaved, has its own roots and live in a shallow water.It usually used to capture sediment, compost, and as antioxidant. The use of sea grass onhuman needs to be conducted. Because of its potency and its component such as flavonoids, aresearch to identify kind of flavonoids in sea grass must be conducted. The aims of thisresearch are to isolate and identify flavonoids in sea grass (Syringodium isoetifolium) usingthin layer chromatography and spectrophotometer UV-Vis. Extraction was done withmaceration using ethanol 96% as solvent. Isolation was done by Thin Layer ChromatographyGF 6054, and n-butanol : acetic acid : water (BAA) (4:1:5). There are two spot after isolatewith TLC, the first is yellow spot with Rf 0,4 and second is red with Rf 0,8. Identification offlavonoids was done using spectrophotometer UV-Vis. Abstract

Daun Kelor (Moringa oleifera Lam.) bermanfaat untuk menghambat aktivitas pertumbuhan bakteri karena adanya kandungan senyawa flavonoid , alkaloid, dan fenol. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji aktivitas antibakteri dari ekstrak etanol daun Kelor dan sediaan masker gel peel-off ekstrak etanol daun Kelor terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental laboratorium, ekstrak etanol daun kelor dan sediaan masker gel peel-off ekstrak etanol daun Kelor dibuat dengan konsentrasi 1, 3, 5, 7, dan 9%. Ekstrak daun Kelor diperoleh dengan cara maserasi dengan menggunakan pelarut etanol 96%. Pada pengujian antibakteri menggunakan metode sumuran. Diameter zona hambat paling besar yang ditimbulkan oleh ekstrak etanol daun Kelor yaitu pada konsentrasi 7% dengan diameter zona hambat sebesar 5,75 mm, sedangkan pada sediaan masker gel peel-off tidak menunjukkan adanya daya hambat. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun Kelor memiliki aktivitas antibakteri yang termasuk dalam kategori sedang.Moringa oleifera Lam. (Moringa oleifera) leaves are useful for inhibiting bacterial growth activity due to the presence of flavonoid, alkaloid, and phenol compounds. This study aims to test the antibacterial activity of the Moringa leaf ethanol extract and the gel peel-off mask preparation of Moringa leaf ethanol extract against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. This study uses laboratory experimental methods, Moringa leaf ethanol extract and gel mask peel-off preparation for Moringa leaf ethanol extract made with concentrations of 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9%. Moringa leaf extract was obtained by maceration using 96% ethanol solvent. In antibacterial testing using the well method. The biggest inhibition zone diameter caused by ethanol extract of Moringa leaves is at a concentration of 7% with a inhibition zone diameter of 5.75 mm, whereas the peel-off gel mask preparation did not show any inhibitory power. It can be concluded that the ethanol extract of Moringa leaves has antibacterial activity which is included in the medium category.

Abstract

ABSTRACTTembelekan leaves (Lantana camara L.) contains flavonoids that possess antipyretic activityto inhibit prostaglandin. The aim of this study was toexamine the effect of ethanolic extractfrom tembelekan leaves as antipyreticon white male rats strain Wistar induced with DPT-Hb.This study is arandomized complete experimental design. Tested animals were 15 white malewistar rats, weighing 130-180g. Test ed animals were divided into 5 groups : negative group(CMC suspension 2.5ml), positive group (paracetamol), and treatment group of tembelekanleaves extract 720mg/kgBB, 1080mg/kgBB and 1440mg/kgBB. Temperature measurementswere conducted before the rats induced with DPT-Hb, 1 hour after administered with DPTeanalyzed by ANOVA and LSD (Least significant different). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memformulasi dan mengetahui efektivitas antibakteri sediaan krim ekstrak etanol daun Kaliandra terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental laboratorium. Formula sediaan krim dibuat dengan variasi konsentrasi ekstrak etanol daun Kaliandra 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%, 6%. Ekstrak daun Kaliandra diperoleh dengan cara maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 96%. Penelitian uji antibakteri sediaan krim esktrak etanol daun Kaliandra menggunakan metode sumuran pada bakteri Staphylococcus aures menghasilkan daya hambat yang terbesar 5,09±0,88 mm pada konsentrasi 6%. Abstract

Crops Cassava (Manihot esculenta) contains carbohydrates, phosphorus, calcium, vitaminC, protein, iron and vitamin B1 can provide a healing effect on wounds. The content contained incassava able to give effect to the skin re-epithelialization of damaged tissues due to burns. Thisstudy aims to determine the effectiveness of the test extract tubers Cassava (Manihot esculenta) inthe dosage form of a cream with the concentration level of 2%, 4%, and 8% for burn woundhealing in rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus). Making cream formulation using cassava tuber extractoil phase in water and used as test animals 10 rabbits, divided into 5 treatment groups, namely, testthe cream treatment group, negative control group (basic cream) and a positive control group(Bioplacenton). Burns in the back with a diameter of 1.5 cm were treated and observed the healingeffects for 7 days. The results showed that from day-1 to day-7 observations burns suffereddiminution in diameter. It was concluded that the concentration of 2% cassava extract cream hashealing effect and increasing the concentration of 4% and 8% contained showed more effectiveand speed up the healing process.Keywords: cream, extract, cassava tubers, healing burns, rabbit

Abstract

ABSTRACT Kaliandra Leaf (Calliandra surinamensis Benth) contains flavonoid compounds, saponins and tannins which are able to inhibit the antibacterial activity. This study aims to test the antibacterial effectiveness of gel preparation of ethanol extracts of kaliandra leaf to obtain the greatest formula, and prove the Kaliandra leaf gel preparation has good physical stability. This study uses a laboratory experimental method. Gel formula is made as many as 5 formulas with variations in the concentration of 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%, and 6% of w : v. Kaliandra leaf extraction was carried out by maceration method using 96% ethanol. The antibacterial test of the ethanol extracts of Kaliandra leaf gel using the method of welling against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria produced a moderate inhibition of 7.0 ± 0.63 mm at a concentration of 6%. The physical evaluation of the preparation includes organoleptic test, homogeneity test, syneresis test, scatter power test, adhesion test, pH test, cycling test, and sterility test. All tests are carried out before and after the cycling test. The results of the study on the preparation fulfilled the physical evaluation requirements before and after the cycling test. It can be concluded that the concentration of 6% of ethanol extracts of Kaliandra leaves could be formulated as a gel preparation that is physically stable and has moderate antibacterial activity. Keywords: Kaliandra (Calliandra surinamensis Benth), Gel preparations, Staphylococcus aureus antibacterial.  ABSTRAK Daun Kaliandra (Calliandra surinamensus Benth) mengandung senyawa flavonoid, saponin dan tannin yang mampu menghambat aktivitas antibakteri. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode ekperimental laboratorium. Formula sediaan gel dibuat sebanyak 5 formula dengan variasi konsentrasi 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%, dan 6% b/v. Ekstraksi daun Kaliandra dilakukan dengan metode maserasi menggunakan etanol 96%.  Penelitian uji antibakteri sediaan gel ekstrak etanol daun Kaliandra menggunakan metode sumuran pada bakteri staphylococcus aureus menghasilkan daya hambat yang sedang yaitu 7,0±0,63 mm pada konsentrasi 6%. Evaluasi fisik sediaan meliputi uji organoleptik, uji homogenitas, uji sineresis, uji daya sebar, uji daya lekat, uji pH, uji cycling test, dan uji sterilitas. Semua pengujian dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah cycling test. Hasil penelitian sediaan memenuhi persyaratan eveluasi fisik sebelum uji cycling test dan sesudah cycling test. Dapat disimpulkan pada kosentrasi 6% ekstrak etanol daun Kaliandra dapat diformulasi sebagai sediaan gel yang stabil secara fisik dan memiliki aktivitas antibakteri yang sedang. Kata kunci : Kaliandra (Calliandra surinamensis Benth), Sediaan Gel, Antibakteri Staphlococcous  aureus.

Abstract

ABSTRACTPeel of avocado (Persea americana Mill) contain efficacious compounds as an antioxydant.This studyhave purpose to determinethe value of Sun Protective Factor (SPF) of sunscreenfrom avocado's peel extract (Persea americana Mill) with aconcentration of5%, 7.5% and10%. In the determination of in vitro SPF valuesusing a spectrophotometer produce SPFvalues obtainedat a concentration of 5% is 3.99, 7.5% is 5.88,10% is 6.81. Abstract

Sasaladahan contains saponin, tannin, alkaloid, calcium oxalate, fat, essential oil, flavonoid,steroid, triterpenoid and carbohydrate. Saponin can stimulate the formation of collagen, whiletannin and flavonoid have activity as antiseptic and antibacterial. The aims of this researchwere to determine the quality of Sasaladahan leaves extract gel (Peperomia pellucida (L.)HBK) by varying the concentration of 5%, 10% and 15% and its effect on the healing of burnwound. The quality of gel was test with organoleptic test, homogenity, pH, spreadability andconsistency. The effectiveness test of the gel performed on 5 rabbits were divided into 5treatment groups where each rabbit made 3 burn wound using a hot metal plate with diameterof 20 mm. The first rabbit was given sasaladahan gel with a concentration of 5%, 2nd rabbitgiven sasaladahan gel with a concentration of 10%, 3rd rabbit given sasaladahan gel with aconcentration of 15%, 4th rabbit given a positive control and 5th rabbit given a negativecontrol. The wound diameter be measured every day until day 7. Data were statisticallyanalyzed using One Way Anova. The results show Sasaladahan gel with concentration of 5%,10% and 15% fulfilled the parameter evaluation of organoleptic test, homogenity, pH andconsistency while the results of spreadability test are not yet fulfilled the parameter of a goodspreadability (5-7 cm). Abstract

This research aims to determine the value of sun protecting factor (SPF) of pineapple skinextracts (Ananas comosus L Merr) in the form of cream with variant concentration of 2%,4% and 8%. The pineapple skin contains flavonoids and tannins substances that can give theeffect as a sunscreen. The formulation of pineapple skin extract cream using the phase of oilin water. The ingredients that was use in the cream formulation are stearic acid, liquidparaffin cera alba, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, propylene glycol, triethanolamine, distilledwater and nipagin. Cream of pineapple skin extract then giving a variety of specified qualitytesting and SPF value. Each concentration cream diluted using 96% ethanol. Creams that hasbeen diluted read it’s absorbance value at UV-Vis Spectrophotometer instrument thencalculated the SPF values. The results showed that the cream of pineapple skin extract hasmet the requirements after conducting various quality of cream tests and the SPF value ofeach cream concentrations are very low. It’s been Concluded that the concentration ofpineapple skin extract cream 2% has shown a very small SPF value and increasing theconcentration of 4% and 8% demonstrate higher SPF values but still does not meet thestandards as a good sunscreen cream.Keywords : cream, extract, pineapple skin, sunscreen, sun protecting factor

Abstract

Daun Alpukat memiliki kandungan antara lain saponin, alkaloid, flavonoid, polifenol, quersetin yang bersifat sebagai antibakteri.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan konsentrasi terbaik dari ekstrak etanol daun alpukat (Persea americana Mill.) yang diformulasikan sebagai sediaan masker gel peel off berdasarkan uji aktivitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus epidermidis. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode ekperimental laboratorium. Formula sediaan masker gel peel off ekstrak daun Alpukat dibuat dengan variasi konsentrasi 0.1%; 0.15%; 0.2%; 0.25% dan 0.3%. Ekstrak tanaman daun alpukat diperoleh dengan cara maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 96%. Pengujian antibakteri dengan metode sumuran diameter zona hambat yang paling besar yaitu pada konsentrasi 0,3% dengan diameter zona hambat 3 mm ± 0,32 dan kemampuan daya hambat dikategorikan lemah. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa konsentrasi terbaik dari ekstrak etanol daun Alpukat (Persea americana Mill.) yang diformulasikan sebagai sediaan masker gel peel off yaitu pada konsentrasi 0.3% dan dikategorikan kemampuan daya hambat lemahAvocado leaves contains saponins, alkaloids, flavonoids, polyphenols, quercetin which are as antibacterial properties. This study uses a laboratory experimental method. Avocado leaf extract peel off mask gel formula is made with a concentration variation of 0.1%; 0.15%; 0.2%; 0.25% and 0.3%. Avocado leaf extract is obtained by maceration using 96% ethanol solvent. Antibacterial testing with the largest inhibition zone diameter wells method is at a concentration of 0.3% with a diameter of inhibition zone 3 mm ± 0.32 and the ability of inhibition is categorized as weak. It can be concluded that the best concentration of ethanol extract of avocado leaves (Persea americana Mill.) Which is formulated as a gel peel off mask preparation is at a concentration of 0.3% and categorized as weak inhibitory ability
