Abstract

Rumah Sakit Hewan Pendidikan Fakultas Kedokteran Hewan Institut Pertanian Bogor (RSHP FKH IPB) menerima anjing Golden Retriever dengan gejala klinis tidak mau makan, nyeri abdomen, muntah dan konstipasi pada bulan april 2016. Pemeriksaan profil darah menunjukkan peningkatan jumlah total leukosit, penurunan jumlah eritrosit dan hemoglobin. Pemeriksaan radiografi tanpa kontras menunjukkan adanya massa radiopaque area intestinal. Empat puluh lima menit setelah pemberian bahan kontras (OmnipaqueÒ), bahan kontras masih berada di gastrium dan hanya mencapai sebagian intestinal. Pemeriksaan endoskopi menunjukkan iritasi mukusa esofagus sampai gastrium. Cairan berwarna hitam terlihat pada saat endoskopi dimasukkan ke gastrium. Tindakan yang dilakukan adalah enterotomi untuk mengeluarkan benda asing. Benda asing terdiri dari pecahan tulang-tulang dan material plastik yang dimakan oleh hewan. Satu minggu setelah operasi, hewan menunjukkan gejala klinis dan nafsu makan yang baik. Kasus ini dapat dicegah dengan tidak memberi makanan yang mengandung tulang dan tidak memelihara hewan pada lingkungan kotor.

Abstract

Skin flap is one of the techniques use for large wound closure. This study were aimed to determine the rate of cure of skin flap H-plasty and linear closure based on subjective and objective clinical observation. Six male local cats at 1-2 years old, weighing 3-4 kg, were divided into two treatment groups. All cats were made 3 x 3 cm wound in the thoracic area for skin graft. Thoracic defects were treated with skin flap techniques H-plasty (group I) and linear closure (group II). Subjective observations was performed on days 3, 6, 9 and 12 after skin flap which was covering skin discoloration, pain response, time hair growth as well a bleeding tests that performed on the 18th day after the skin flap. Objective observation was made on day 18 by administration of 0.9% NaCland observed the absorption time, while the onset of drug effect was noticed by pupillary reflex observation after 0.2 ml adrenaline injection under the skin flap. The observation on day 9 showed that skin flap linear closure wasbetter than skin flap H-plasty, which was characterized by similar skin color with surrounding skin, reduced pain response and rapid hair growth. Bleeding blood test was showed a glowing red colored and immediately came outafter incision in both groups. The absorption time of 0.9% NaCl and the effects of adrenaline were faster in thegroup skin flap linear closure. Skin flap H-plasty and linear closure techniques can be applied to repair woundsin the thoracic area of cat skin, however, the linear closure flap of skin was healing faster than skin flap H-plasty.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to observe blood profile of domestic cats which includes red blood cell, white blood cell, haemoglobin, haematocrit, and trombocyte during skin graft recovery period via autograft. A total of nine male domestic cats (Felis catus) aged 1-2 years weighting 3-4 kg were separated into three treatment groups. Hair shaving and disinfectant application were done on lateral area of front leg, and then 2x2 cm incision was made. The wound was wrapped by sterile gauze dampened by poviderm iodine and left for different period of days per treatment group; where Group I (two days), Group II (four days), and Group III (six days). Transplantation was done by taking the skin on thorax area and placing it on the recipient after first cleaning subcutaneous tissue from the skin surface of donor?s wound and the base of recipient?s wound. Blood sample was taken from vena cephalica antebrachii anterior on day 0 before skin graft, on day three, six, nine, 12, and 18 after skin graft. Based on the result, significant difference waso bserved from red blood cell count, white blood cell count, haemoglobin count, and hematocrit, whereas trombocyte count did not show any significant difference between treatment groups. The cats on Group II and Group III were systemic good condition compared to Group I. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan melihat profil darah kucing lokal, meliputi sel darah merah, sel darah putih, hemoglobin, hematokrit, dan trombosit selama kesembuhan tranplantasi kulit secara autograft. Sebanyak sembilan ekor kucing lokal (Felix catus) jantan umur 1-2 tahun dengan bobot badan 3-4 kg dibagi menjadi tiga kelompok perlakuan. Pada kucing tersebut dilakukan pencukuran rambut dan desinfeksi pada area kaki depan sisi lateral, selanjutnya dibuat luka sayat/incisi 2x2 cm. Luka dibalut dengan kasa steril yang dibasahi povidone iodine dan dibiarkan selama beberapa hari. Kucing dengan sayatan yang dibiarkan tersebut dikelompokkan menjadi kelompok I (dua hari), kelompok II (empat hari), dan kelompok III (enam hari). Transplantasi dilakukan dengan mengambil kulit dari area thorak dan ditempatkan pada resipien dengan terlebih dahulu permukaan luka kulit donor dan dasar luka resipien dibersihkan dari jaringan subkutis. Pengambilan sampel darah dilakukan melalui vena cephalica antebrachii anterior pada hari ke-0, 3, 6, 9, 12, dan 18. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian terjadi perbedaan yang signifikan (P<0,05) terhadap jumlah sel darah merah, sel darah putih, hemoglobin, dan hematokrit, sedangkan jumlah trombosit tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan (P>0,05) di antara kelompok perlakuan. Kondisi sistemik tubuh kucing kelompok II dan III lebih baik dibandingan kelompok I.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang sifat magnetik dan ukuran partikel dari pasir besi pantai Arta Pariaman Sumatera Barat menggunakan metode Ball Milling. Sampel pasir besi dipisahkan menggunakan Iron Sand Separator (ISS) sebelum dilakukannya proses penghancuran menggunakan Ball Milling dengan variasi waktu 30 jam, 60 jam, dan 90 jam, kemudian dilakukan Ball Milling lanjutan selama 30 jam pada sampel hasil Ball Milling 90 jam dengan ukuran bola yang diperkecil sebesar 0,6 cm. Untuk pemisahan antara partikel magnetik dan non-magnetik pada hasil Ball Milling menggunakan magnet batang Niodinium Iron Boron (NdFeB). Sifat magnetik seperti suseptibilitas magnetik dan suseptibilitas massa dapat diketahui dengan menggunakan sensor Pasco Magnetic Probe PS-2162 dengan kumparan solenoid 2000 lilitan, panjang 10 cm, dan diameter 3 cm, sedangkan komposisi dari pasir besi menggunakan X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF). Ukuran dan bentuk partikel magnetik ditentukan dengan Scanning Electtron Microscope (SEM). Dari penelitian ini hasil ukuran partikel yang didapat sebesar 935 nm untuk waktu Ball Milling 90 jam dan ukuran dalam rentang sebesar 519 nm untuk waktu Ball Milling 120 jam/90 jam + 30 jam, Bentuk partikel pasir besi hampir bulat untuk masing-masing waktu Ball Milling. Kandungan pasir besi sebelum dan sesudah di Ball Milling selama 120 jam yaitu 6,118% dan 67,746%. Suseptibilitas massa meningkat dari 27955,7 X 10-8 m3/kg  menjadi 31478,5 X 10-8 m3/kg  . Nilai ini berada dalam interval mineral Ilminite (46-80000) X 10-8 m3/kg  .

Abstract

Magnetic Susceptibility measurements and the identification of elements of iron sand from Arta beach of Pariaman West Sumatera have been done. The samples were dried first under the sun before the separation between magnetic particles of iron sand and non-magnetic particles using Iron Sand Separator. Identification elements of iron sand was done using X-Ray Fluorescence. The total value of magnetic induction was measured using a magnetic Pasco probe PS-2162 using a solenoid 2000 coils turns, dimensions of 3 cm in diameter and 10 cm in length. The solenoid was given an electric current with variations ranging from 2 A ? 8 A. The distance between magnetic probe and one end of solenoid was kept constant that was 1 mm. The next experiment was to measure the function of distance ranging from 1 ? 5 mm with constant applied current of 8 A. When electric current increase then the total magnetic induction also increase. Total magnetic induction value decreases as the distance increases. Magnetic susceptibility was calculated based on total magnetic induction and magnetic induction of core currents with constant current of 8 A and distance of 1 mm. The value of magnetic susceptibility obtained in the range (2164,71-3159,99)x10-5 which consist of ilmenite mineral (FeTiO3; Antiferromagnetic).Keywords :  iron sand, magnetic suseptibility, iron sand separator, solenoid, magnetic induction, and  x-ray fluorescence.

Abstract

We report the determination of the stage of magnetism and magnetic induction iron sand deposits as afunction of depth in Padang, West Sumatra coast. Samples of the iron sand deposits are dried first,then the separation concentrate iron sand with sand using iron sand separator apparatus to identify theelement countain of sampels then it was used XRF ( X- Ray Fluerensence). The study resultsexpressed that grades stage magnetism iron sand deposits increases or increases as a function ofdepth, where the value of stage magnetism obtained by the ratio between the mass of the sample massconcentratet. The value of magnetic induction total measured using a magnetic sensor Pasco PS-2162through a solenoid made of 2500 loops with a length of 8 cm and a diameter of 2,5 cm wereelectrified by the variation of a current of 2 A to 10 A and a horizontal distance of 1 to 5 mm alongthe axis solenoid. When an electric current is increased, the greater the total magnetic induction, andthe total value of magnetic induction decreases as a function of the horizontal distance.

Abstract

Analisys of magnetic properties and structure of particles of iron sand of Arta, Pariaman beach West Sumatra. Has been conducted the iron sand samples were dried, then the iron sand separation process was carried out using  Iron Sand Separator (ISS). Next, the sample was milled  for 30, 60 and 90 hours. The separation between magnetic particles and non magnetic particles was done using Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB) magnet. Magnetic induction measurements were carried out using Pasco PS-2162 Magnetic Probe which measured the total magnetic induction of solenoid (solenoid with core sample and milled sample(consentrate II)) as a function of electric current of 1-8 A for a fixed distance of 1 mm. Identification of the content of elements contained in iron sand before and after processing with Ball Milling for 90 hours was carried out using X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF). The phase of magnetic particles processed by Ball Milling was determined using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). The calculation results show that the magnetic susceptibility of the sample increases with increasing Ball Milling time, from (69426,19 × 10-5 ? 80332,13 × 10-5). These values are in the interval 220 - 380.000 × 10-5of the Ilmenite mineral. The magnetite phase appears more than the maghemite phase and the hematite phase after Ball Milling for 90 hours. The particle size of magnetik particle decreases as milling time increase, this trend is confirmed by the result of  XRD.

Abstract

Mapping of magnetic susceptibility values of sand of  Gandoriah beach, Pariaman West Sumatera has been carried out. The composition of sand beach was identified using X-Ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy (XRF) and the map of  magnetic susceptibility and mass susceptibility of the sample were determined using Software Surfer 11. The samples were collected based on grid technique from 25 points location. The separation between magnetic particles and nan magnetic particles was done using iron sand separator for 1 time process.The result of the calculation of the magnetic degree of the sample using Iron Sand Separator for 1 time prosess showed that the values are in the range of 3,88 %-5,12 %. Magnetic and mass susceptibility values of the sample are in the range of (603,3-1351,46)×10-5 and (112,76?1086,85)×10-8 m3/Kg respectively. Magnetic and mass susceptibility of the concentrate (product of iron sand separator) are in the range of (1367,55?2155,9)×10-5 and (927,41?1774,28)×10-8 m3/Kg respectively. These values are in the range of Ilminate mineral that is (220-380000)×10-5 and (46-80000)×10-8 m3/Kg respectively. The percentage of Fe and Ti increases from  6,276 % to  54,549 % and from  0,441% to 5,102% respectively after being processed by iron sand separator. The results also showed that magnetic susceptibility values increase toward the sea water.

Abstract

Design and experiment of ocean current power generation system have been carried out using the Bach Savonius rotor. In this research, the influence of the velocity of ocean currents, the number of turbine blades, and the blade arc angle of the generator output power are studied. The results showed that the turbine output power is strongly influenced by the velocity of ocean currents where the velocity values of ocean currents varied in the range 0,63-1,98 m/sec. The maximum elctrical power of the turbine occurs at a current velocity of 1,98 m/sec of 26,88 Watts. The number of turbine blades has a significant effect on turbine output power. The turbine reaches maximum power is found in the rotor with a number of 3 blades with a power coefficient of 0,1176 on the tip speed ratio of 0,359. The blade arc angle is varied at angles of 90?, 135? and 165?. The blade arc angle 135? gives the best performance with a power coefficient of 0,102 on the tip speed ratio of 0,298.

Abstract

Rubber gives an important role for the national economy, in West Kalimantan, most of the population work as rubber farmers, especially the community in Nyiin Village, Jelimpo sub-district, Landak district, is one of the villages that runs rubber plantations in the former cultivation area, which has been running since long time ago as the main livelihood to meet the needs of daily life.  Some of the problems that are faced by rubber farmers, during the rainy season the rubber farmers have difficulty in tapping rubber, also falling rubber prices nowadays. This affects for the economy and the amount of rubber latex produced by the public. While the prices of basic food are rising, to deal with such a problem the community tends to look for side jobs, such as working in oil palm companies, mining gold, and other jobs. This situation naturally raises perceptions in the local community in Nyiin Village as rubber tappers. The aim of this study to find out the perception of the local community on rubber farming in the former cultivation area and analyze the relationship between knowledge, age and cosmopolitan factors with the perception of the local community on rubber farming in the former cultivation area.  This research was carried out for 2 weeks effectively in the field, using descriptive and associative survey methods with interview techniques and questionnaire aids in the form that submitted to a number of respondents.  of 81 respondents 73 respondents (90.12%) had low perception, 8 respondents (9.88%) had moderate perception and 0 respondents had low perception of rubber farming.  It can be concluded that the people in Nyiin Village, Jelimpo sub-district, Landak district tend to have a low perception of rubber farming, this proves that the community feels the negative impact of the current rubber farming business, caused by the current low price of rubber.Keywords: Communities, Perception, Rubber
