Abstract

Abstract: The objectives of this research were to investigate: (1) whose learning achievement and affective aspect of Mathematics are better between the students with the cooperative learning model of the STAD type with contextual approach and those with the cooperative learning model of the TGT type with contextual approach; (2) whose learning achievement and affective aspect of Mathematics are better among the students with mathematical logical intelligence, visual intelligence, kinesthetic intelligence, and interpersonal intelligence; and (3) whether or not there is an interaction in each category of the cooperative learning models and the intelligence types on the learning achievement and affective aspect of Mathematics. This research used the quasi experimental research method. Its population was all of the students in Grade VII of State Junior Secondary Schools of Sukoharjo regency in Academic Year 2012/2013. The samples of the research consisted of 141 students, and they were taken by using the stratified cluster random sampling. The data of the research were gathered through test of learning achievement and questionnaire affective aspect. The proposed hypotheses of the research were tested by using a two-way MANOVA with unbalance cells at the significance level of 5%. The results of the research are as follows 1) The learning achievement in Mathematics of the students of the TGT with contextual approach is better than that STAD with contextual approach, but the affective aspect of Mathematics of the students with TGT with contextual approach is as good as that STAD with contextual approach; 2) The learning achievement in Mathematics of the students with the mathematical logical intelligence is as good as those of the students with the kinesthetic intelligence, interpersonal intelligence but better than visual intelligence, the learning achievement in Mathematics of the students with the kinesthetic intelligence is better than interpersonal intelligence. The affective aspect of Mathematics of the students with the mathematical logical intelligence is as good as that of the students with the kinesthetic intelligence, but better than visual intelligence and interpersonal intelligence, and the affective aspect of Mathematics of the students with the visual intelligence is as good as that of the students with the interpersonal intelligence. 3) There is no any interaction of effect of the cooperative learning models and the multiple intelligences on the learning achievement in Mathematics and the affective aspect of Mathematics.Keywords: STAD, TGT, multiple intelligences, learning achievement, and affective aspect.

Abstract

ABSTRAKThe jucama model is thought to increase students’ creativity and independence of learning. The research objectives are (1) knowing the application of the jucama model can improve students’ creative thinking abilities; (2) knowing the learning independence of students can improve the ability to think creatively; and (3) knowing the interaction between the jucama model and learning independence on the students’ creative thinking abilities. The research method used quasy experimental design with pretest-posttest control design. Sampling technique cluster random sampling and hypothesis testing using two-way ANOVA. The results of the study can be concluded: (1) the application of the jucama model can improve students’ creative thinking abilities; (2) there is an influence of learning independence in improving students’creative thinking skills; and (3) there is no interaction between the jucama model and learning independence on the students’ creative thinking abilities.Keywords: jucama, creative thinking, and learning independenceABSTRAKModel Jucama diduga dapat meningkatkan kreatifitas dan kemandirian belajar peserta didik. Tujuan penelitian ialah (1) mengetahui penerapan model Jucama dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif peserta didik; (2) mengetahui kemandirian belajar peserta didik dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif; dan (3) mengetahui interaksi antara model Jucama dengan kemandirian belajar pada kemampuan berpikir kreatif peserta didik. Metode penelitian menggunakan Quasy Experimental dengan desain penelitian  pretest-posttest control design. Teknik pengambilan sampel cluster random sampling dan uji hipotesis menggunakan anava dua jalan. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan: (1) penerapan model jucama dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif peserta didik; (2) Terdapat pengaruh kemandirian belajar dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif peserta didik; dan (3) Tidak terdapat interaksi antara model Jucama dengan kemandirian belajar pada kemampuan berpikir kreatif peserta didik.  Kata Kunci: Jucama, berpikir kreatif, dan kemandirian belajar

Abstract

AbstractThe aims of this research are to find out the different effect of each categories of realistic mathematic approach with task or without task, initial capability characteristics, and their interaction towards students mathematics learning results used realistic mathematic approch. The research used to quasi experimental with 2x2 factorial design. The samples of the research were taken by cluster random sampling technique. Based on hypothesis test, it can be conclude that the learning results used Realistic Mathematics Approach tith task have a better than without task, the learning result of the students who have good initial capability is better than lowerinitial capability, and there is interaction between the realistic mathematic approach with initial capability characteristics. Key Words: Realistic Mathematics Approach; Initial Capability; Learning Result

Abstract

This research aims to know whether there is difference between of the studentsachievement in math by using teaching media with instructional media basedcomputer and printed media (books). This research is experimental researchusing posttest-only control design. The population was all the of the first gradestudents at SMP Negeri 8 Bandar Lampung. The samples of the research weretaken by using the cluster random sampling technique. Data acquisition is doneby testing with data analysis techniques using t-test if the data distributionnormal and homoginity. The result of the research can be concluded that there isdifference between of the students achievement in math by using teaching mediawith instructional media based computer and printed media (books), and thestudents achievements in math by using teaching media with instructional mediabased computer was higher than the students achievements in math by usingteaching media with printed media (books).Keywords: instructional media based computer, printed media, studentsachievements in math

Abstract

Every life needs a very important role especially the role in education. Improving the quality of education can be pursued by the use of appropriate learning models so as to improve students' reasoning abilities. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in the influence of Novick's learning model and the learning model that is centered on educators on students' mathematical reasoning abilities, Knowing the interaction between learning models and SAVI learning styles (Somatic, Auditory, Visualization, Intelectually) on mathematical reasoning abilities learners. This research uses the Quasy Experiment Design method. The results obtained from this study are that learning by using Novick's learning model is more effective against mathematical reasoning for students, there is no interaction between Novick's learning model and SAVI learning style on mathematical reasoning abilities.

Abstract

This research aims to develop learning materials a pocket book with motif of archipelago batik. The method of this research is carried out using the methods of research and development model of Borg and Gall that have been modified by Sugiyono include 7 stages, namely:1) The Potential and Problems, 2) Data Collection, 3) Design of the Produk, 4) Validation of the Design, 5) Design Revision, 6) Trial of  the Product, 7) Revision of the Product. The result of this research showed that the feasibility value by the material expert got an average score of 3,43 with valid criteria and feasibility value by media expert with an average score of  3,40 with valid criteria. The response of the learners was very interesting with an average score 3,53 to trial the small group and the achievement of an average score of  3,41 to trial the large group. This showed that the poscet book of transformation geometry with motif of archipelago batik generated in this research is considered feasible for use in learning mathematics.

Abstract

The research is done based on the lack og learning media is used in teaching learning process and students motivation that is still low. Teaching material is an important part of the learning proces a whole. The formulation of the problem in this research is how to develop math materials by using Abobe Flash on material polyhedron and its quality by material and media expert to the eighth is aimed to produce interesting learning process using learning media Adobe Flash on material polyhedron. The research is done by research method and development (R&D) by Sugiono. The research is limited on 7 stages, that are : 1) Potency And Problem, 2) Collecting Data,  3) Design Produc, 4) Validate Desig, 5) Validate Product, 6) Trial Product, And  7) Revision Product. Because of limited time, this research cannot apply all of the research procedure by Sgiono. Learning media is developed towards validation steps of material and media expert. Interest in learning media is based on small- scale trial that is done to 10 students and large scal trial to 22 students. The subject of trial is students of the eighth grade of SMP N 16 Bandar Lampung. Based on the trial by material and media expert, feasibility score consecutively are 4,1 and 3,95. On small- scale and large scale trial is gotten consecutively4,3 and4,277. Consequently, learning media Adobe Flash that is developed is interestingand it can be used as learning media to the eighth grade students on material polyhedron.

Abstract

This study aims to produce instructional materials in the form of electronic module based learning content development system on the matter of pattern number. This research method is Research and Development (R & D) based on ADDIE model. Assessment of material experts on the learning media is included in the category of "Valid" with an average value of 3.46. The media experts assessment of this e-module is included in the "Valid" category with an average grade of 3.66. The linguists assessment of this medium is included in the "Valid" category with an average grade of 3.6. In a small-scale trial followed by 10 students of class VII obtained an average score of 3.65 based on the results of a response questionnaire that has been filled by the learner, this result puts the e-module on the criteria "Very Interesting". In large-scale field trials followed by 30 students, the average score of attractiveness obtained was 3.55 on the criteria "Very interesting".

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to produce a product in the form of audio-visual learning media based on macromedia flash to determine the feasibility of audio-visual media based on macromedia flash. This research method is 7 stages from 10 stages of Borg and Gall model which have been modified by Sugiyono covering Potency and Problem, Collecting Data, Product Design, Design Validation, Design Revision, Product Trial and Product Revision. This research produces an audio-visual media based on macromedia flash on three dimensional material that has been declared as feasible to be used as a medium of mathematics learning by material experts who ememperoleh average score 91% (Excellent) and media expert with average score 89% Very good). In the experiment students get an average score of 90% (very interesting) and teacher responses with a score of 91% (very good) So it can be concluded that the audio-visual media based on macromedia flash on three dimensional material worthy of use as a medium of learning mathematics
