Abstract

The condition of excess demand that is happening to the milk commodity is the result of the low capacity in domestic milk production that has made Indonesia faced with the option of importing milk. The rise in volume of imported milk that occurred after the remission of the import ratio policy indicates that domestic milk competitiveness is low. Quantitative analysis using Engle-Granger Co-integration and Error Correction Model (ECM) to analyze factors influencing imported milk for the long-term and the short-term through one-way comparison produced a crucial research implication towards the increase of domestic milk production for the short-term. On the other hand, for the long-term, real price for domestic milk holds a key role in increasing competitiveness. The remission of the import ratio policy as an act to minimize trade restriction basically increases import volume, nevertheless it is thought that it can be overcome with an exit strategy of increasing domestic milk production for the short-term.

Abstract

Demand for agricultural products in Indonesia increases in response to Indonesia's high population growth. With more limited agricultural land, agricultural productivity can be increased by the addition of fertilizer. Biofertilizer is currently popular fertilizer and can become a solution to increase productivity of agricultural products in limited land. PT PHN is a new company established in 2015 and produces biofertilizer under the brand XYZ . This research was conducted to analyze consumer perception of biofertilizer and XYZ fertilizer. The company tries to understand customer?s problems and provides solutions with customer development model (CDM) method. Understanding and solution to the problem were then used as revision of the company's business model with business model canvas (BMC) approach. Primary and secondary data were used in this research. Primary data were obtained by observation and interview using several respondents. Secondary data were obtained from PT PHN staffs, BPS, and other sources related to this research. The results show that consumers do not have enough understanding about biofertilizer. XYZ fertilizer improves agricultural productivity but has some obstacles in its use. The business model of PT PHN is updated with some additions and subtractions by considering the CDM results.Keywords: BMC, business model, CDM, strategy, customer discovery

Abstract

Palm oil industry is one of the important industries in Indonesia, but the development only focuses on upstream industry. The government establishes downstream palm oil industry is once of the priorities development industry and will be mainstay industry in future by issues Regulation of Minister Industry No 13/2010 to support it. The aims of this study are to analyze the action plan?s implementation of downstream palm oil industry?s policy and the priority of action plan?s policy implementation based on Regulation of Minister Industry No. 13/2010. This study uses literature review, in-depth interview and questionnaire method to gather opinions from the experts and practitioners, and then analyzed using Analytical Network Process (ANP). The results of this study show that the implementing of action plan the policy of downstream palm oil industry should use priority in improving infrastructure and investment process. Especially availability public facilities such as highway, electricity generator, treatment water installation and support in pro-investment policy. The most important stakeholder is a role of central government be at the facilitators for developing downstream palm oil industry, especially on policy and support system The main recommendation of action plan implementation is improving support system on building public infrastructure process and investment like land clearance policy, investment tax policy, funding scheme and cooperation on development between state-owned corporation and private corporation.Keywords: Analytical Network Process (ANP), downstream palm oil, implementation policy  analysisABSTRAKIndustri kelapa sawit merupakan industri penting di Indonesia, namun pengembangannya masih berfokus kepada industri hulu. Pemerintah menetapkan industri hilir kelapa sawit sebagai salah satu industri prioritas yang akan dikembangkan dan menjadi industri andalan masa depan dengan menerbitkan Peraturan Menteri Perindustrian No 13 tahun 2010 untuk mendukung tujuan tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisa implementasi rencana aksi kebijakan pengembangan industri hilir kelapa sawit dan memilih prioritas rencana aksi yang diutamakan dalam Permenperin no 13 Tahun 2010. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian terdahulu, wawancara mendalam dan kuisioner dari ahli atau praktsi, selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan analisis proses jaringan (ANP). Hasil penelitian menunjukan implementasi rencana aksi kebijakan pengembangan industri hilir kelapa sawit perlu memprioritaskan perbaikan proses infrastruktur dan investasi. khususnya ketersediaan fasilitas umum meliputi jalan raya, pembangkit listrik dan pengelolaan air bersih serta mendukung kebijakan pro-investasi. Peran terpenting pemangku kepentingan adalah peran pemerintah pusat yang menjadi fasilitator bagi pengembangan industri, khususnya terkait kebijakan dan sistem pendukungnya.  Rekomendasi utama pengembangan industri hilir kelapa sawit adalah memperbaiki sistem pendukung dalam proses pembangunan infrastruktur dan investasi seperti kebijakan pembebasan lahan, kebijakan pajak investasi, skema pembiayaan dan kerjasama pembangunan antara BUMN dan swasta. Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purposes of this study were (1) to identify factors that considered important by investors in making investment decisions in the oil palm agribusiness and in the performance of South Bengkulu Regency Officials in providing a supporting investment climate, (2) to determine the Regional Official?s level of compatibility and value of performance index towards factors that influencing investment, (3) to determine the difference in perception toward the (what) variables, between investors and South Bengkulu Regency Government, (4) to formulate strategies which can be used by South Bengkulu Regency to attract investors. The methods used to collect data were observation, questionnaire-based interview, and in-depth interview. The techniques used to analyze data were descriptive analysis, importance-performance analysis, Value of Performance Index, and Mann Whitney?s independent sample test. A comprehensive analysis of the output of the three methods had concluded that South Bengkulu Regency need to concern about 24 variables and its managerial implications in order to attract investors on PKS or CPO factories. Keywords: oil palm agribusiness, South Bengkulu, IPA matrix, CSI, mann whitneyABSTRAKTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang dianggap penting oleh investor untuk membuat keputusan investasi pabrik crude palm oil dan kinerja Pemerintah Kabupaten Bengkulu Selatan dalam menyediakan iklim investasi, (2) menentukan tingkat kompatibilitas dan nilai indeks kinerja Pemerintah Daerah (Pemda) terhadap faktor yang memengaruhi investasi (3) menentukan perbedaan persepsi terhadap variabel, antara investor dan Pemerintah Kabupaten Bengkulu Selatan. (4) merumuskan strategi Pemerintah Kabupaten Bengkulu Selatan  untuk menarik investor. Metode pengumpulan data mengunakan observation, questionnaire-based interview, dan in-depth interview. Analisis data yang digunakan berupa metode importance-performance analysis, nilai indeks kinerja, dan uji Mann Whitney sampel independen. Hasil  analisis dari tiga metode tersebut  menyimpulkan bahwa Kabupaten Bengkulu Selatan perlu memperbaiki sekitar 24 variabel dan melaksanakan strategi dalam rangka  menarik investors pabrik CPO atau PKS. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhikonsumsi susu nutrisi enteral klinikal pada orang dewasa, Menganalisapengetahuan dan persepsi para dokter/ahli gizi terhadap susu nutrisi enteralklinikal dan merumuskan strategi yang dapat diterapkan dalam memasarkan produk.Thesis ini juga menguji bagaimana pengaruh para pakar dalam mempengaruhi orangdewasa dalam mengkonsumsi susu nutrisi enteral klinikal. Penelitian inidilakukan di lima rumah sakit di Jakarta selama bulanFebruari 2009. Total sampel 111 responden orang dewasa dan 61 pakar (dokter danahli gizi). Data dianalisa menggunakan model logit. Hasil yang didapatkanmengindikasikan bahwa faktor yang mempengaruhi responden untuk mengkonsumsiproduk susu nutrisi enteral klinikal adalah pengaruh dokter/ahli gizi, latarbelakang pendidikan, pengeluaran bulanan dan faktor ketersediaan produk. Merekalebih memilih membeli produk dalam kemasan soft pack atau dus daripada kemasankaleng dan sebagian besar adalah usia 36-55 tahun. Faktor yang mendorong pakarmenyarankan produk tersebut adalah harga, kelengkapan kandungan gizi, masakadaluarsa yang panjang, ketersediaan produk dan kejelasan informasi nilai gizidan lainnya di kemasannya. Saat ini target strategi pemasaran mengutamakanpromosi melalui pendekatan kepada tenaga medis profesional oleh staf delegasimedis dari perusahaan. Target utama adalah dokter dan ahli gizi karena merekamempunyai kekuatan dalam mempengaruhi pasiennya. Strategi kedua adalahmemperkuat penyediaan produk di pasar dan sistim pendistribusian yangbaik.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the ability of West Java on providing the needs of rice through all over West Java as well as the surrounding regions; and to evaluate optimal rice distribution among the regions. It was predicted that the rice production volume in West Java and Banten Provinces tend to decrease, each for 3 806.33 Tons per quartile and 1 662.85 Tons per quartile. The optimal rice transportation network should be conducted through rice distribution from Cirebon Sub Regional Division to Ciamis Sub Regional Division or from Karawang Sub Regional Division to Cianjur Sub Regional Division. Rice distribution could be conducted from Cirebon, Indramayu, Karawang and Subang Sub Regional Divisions to Jakarta Raya Sub Regional Division

Abstract

Globalization has proven to spur economic growth for many countries in the world. It has, however, also negative impacts in terms of widening income gap, environmental degradation etc. such that many are worried that the growth will not be sustainable. Triple bottom line was introduced to make the economic growth and company competitiveness more sustainable. Although to define the concept is easy, to make it implemented, especially by developing countries, is another matter. Education and research track by universities is suggested to be one best way to accelerate the implementation of the concept. A case of Graduate Program of Management and Business (MB-IPB) is used to illustrate the attempt.Keywords: Sustainable Business Competitiveness, Triple Bottom Line, MB-IPB, 3PsABSTRAKGlobalisasi telah terbukti memacu pertumbuhan ekonomi pada berbagai belahan dunia, tetapi juga mempunyai banyak dampak negatif yang dirasakan dalam bentuk melebarnya kesenjangan pendapatan, kerusakan lingkungan dll. Akibatnya banyak khawatir bahwa pertumbuhan ekonomi yang terjadi tidak akan berkelanjutan. Konsep Triple Bottom Line diperkenalkan untuk membuat pertumbuhan ekonomi dan dayasaing perusahaan lebih berkelanjutan. Walaupun konsep ini relatif mudah untuk dijelaskan, menerapkannnya ternyata tidak mudah, terutama di negara berkembang. Jalur pendidikan dan penelitian merupakan salah satu cara terbaik yang dapat dilakukan universitas untuk mempercepat penerapan konsep. Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was to analyze rejected product in slaughterhouse division using total quality management approach. The secondary data were collected from the company archives and judgmental sampling was used to collect primary data from six experienced respondents. The analysis method used was total quality management, include stratification, Pareto diagrams, control charts, fishbone diagrams, and quality function deployment. The findings of this study showed that the use of line production system by the slaughterhouse to produce the product; where products? redness/bruises, size uniformity, bloodless feature, incorrect delivery, delivery delay, and damaged package were the cause of product rejection. The strategies ordered based on the priority to improve the management quality are: tools repair and replacement, creating quality based projects, build an information system between the production lines, training and seminar. The managerial implications of the study suggested the slaughterhouse to replace or repair the plucker, scalder and automatic weighing machine. It also suggested the slaughterhouse to tighten the span of control in the chilling room to maintain product freshness.Keywords: rejected product analysis, TQM, QFD, chicken slaughterhouse, carcassABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis produk tolakan pada rumah potong ayam melalui pendekatan total quality management. Pengumpulan data sekunder penelitian diperoleh dari arsip perusahaan dan judgemental sampling digunakan terhadap enam responden ahli untuk memperoleh data primer penelitian. Metode analisis data yang digunakan total quality management, meliputi stratifikasi, diagram pareto, peta kendali, diagram tulang ikan, dan quality function deployment.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penggunaan sistem lini produksi pada proses produksi di perusahaan, dimana memar pada produk, keseragaman ukuran, kesegaran produk, pengiriman tidak sesuai pesanan, keterlambatan pengiriman serta kemasan yang rusak merupakan penyebab terjadinya produk tolakan. Prioritas strategi perbaikan mutu yang dapat dilakukan di rumah potong ayam secara berurutan terdiri atas, perbaikan dan penggantian alat, proyek kualitas, pembangunan sistem informasi antar lini produksi, serta pelatihan dan seminar. Implikasi manajerial hasil penelitian merekomendasikan rumah potong ayam untuk melakukan perbaikan atau penggantian pada alat perontok bulu, alat perebusan, dan alat timbang otomatis, hasil penelitian juga merekomendasikan kepada rumah potong ayam untuk memperketat rentang kendali pada ruang pendingin guna menjaga kesegaran produk.Kata kunci:  analisis produk tolakan, TQM,  QFD, rumah pemotongan ayam, karkas

Abstract

Over a period of three years, Bogor Agricultural University/Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) and Maastricht School of Management (MsM) have been executing the multi-annual project Round Table Indonesia, www.roundtableindonesia.net. This project aimed at contributing to the improvement of a sustainable business and investment climate in the Indonesian agricultural sector, by strengthening the knowledge capacity, formulating concrete investment opportunities, and facilitating partnerships. As a result, IPB and MsM have developed courses on sustainable business development and facilitated business projects in poultry, mangosteen, palm oil, shrimps, and tourism. All projects are based on in-depth value chain analyses and roundtable meetings with key stakeholders of government, private sector, academia, and civil society. Linking education and applied research with business development will lead to a stronger and more sustainable Indonesian agricultural sector, being of crucial importance for the Indonesian development as a whole.Keywords: Round Table Indonesia, Sustainable Business Development, Value Chain, Agricultural Sector, IPB, MSM

Abstract

The exploding societal movement based upon environmental concerns and consumer awareness is spreading all over the globe. As a result, consumers concern about environmental issues is growing significantly and marketers have realized the importance of introducing green cosmetic products.However, there is doubt whether this awareness and concern is translated into the right behavior. In this study, consumers? attitudes, behaviors, perception and demographic factor were manipulated to determine their relative influence on willingness to pay for green cosmetic products. The results showed consumer?s age, education, income and ecoliteracy to be the consistent explanatory factor in predicting their willingness to pay. The result also suggested that attitude toward firm?s responsibilities and buying behavior which?s consider environment factor to be the consistent explanatory factor in predicting their willingness to pay. This study also examined the relationships between consumer?s attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavior control and green cosmetic buying intentions using the Theory of PlannedBehavior (TPB). This study revealed that at significance level ten percent, attitude, subjective norm and perceived behavior control correlates positively with intention.
