Abstract

In the business world, competition is getting tighter. As the complexities and dynamics of thebusiness environment intensify, companies begin to push to further strengthen their strategicbases with concepts such as customer focused or oriented cultures. community. There areseveral factors that can affect employee performance. The purpose of this study is to test theperformance of marketing-based product innovation and competitive advantage. This research is survey. Data collection techniques conducted in this study usingquestionnaires. The data used is the primary data from respondents' answers. Samplingtechnique in this research using random sampling, in this research the sample used is 110batik industry. Methods of data analysis were tested with Structural Equation Modelingthrough Smart PLS (Partial Least Square) program. The result of the research shows that the environmental uncertainty have positive andsignificant influence to the product innovation, the intensity of R & D influences positive andsignificant influence to product innovation, product innovation has positive and significantinfluence to marketing performance, product orientation has positive and significant influenceto competitive advantage, influential positive and significant influence to competitiveadvantage, competitive advantage have positive and significant influence to marketingperformanceKeywords: environmental uncertainty, product innovation, R & D intensity, product orientation, competitive advantage, customer orientation, marketing performance.

Abstract

For cultivation of melon (Cucumis melo L.), farmers only keep one fruit per plant to maintain quality fruit. To improve productivity, one possible effort is by spraying gibberellins at melon in combination with increasing amount of fruit maintained for each plant. The aim of this study was to know the effect of gibbereline in improving sink capacities of melon when fruit amount is increased. Gibberelins was sprayed at concentration of 0, 30, 60, and 90 mg/l to melon crop with different fruit amount per plant (one, two and three fruit). The study indicated that for melon plant with more than one fruit per plant, gibberellins application was not able to maintain the fruit quality, because the fruit weights were still decreasing. Thus, gibberellins application was not able to improve the sink capacities if fruit amount per plant is increased. While for plant with only one fruit, spraying 60 and 90 mg/l gibberellins can improve the fruit weight, so gibberellins improves the sink capacities if only one fruit is maintained for each plant.

Abstract

The alternative way of environmentaly friendly weed controlling is to use Chromolaenaodorata and Piper betle extract that contain allelopathic compound and potential asorganic herbicides. The purpose of this research was to know the influence ofChromolaena odorata and Piper betle extracts in inhibiting the germination and growthof Mikania micrantha and to determine the best concentration of extracts in weedcontrolling. This research used Randomize Complete Design. The collected data wasanalyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), followed by Duncan’s Multiple RangeTest if the result is significantly different. The experiment results showed that thegermination and growth of Mikania micrantha weed were reduced because of thetreatment using Chromolaena odorata and Piper betle extract. The most efficientextract concentration in controlling weed was 10% of Chromolaena odorata extract.

Abstract

Marketing management is a process of management.  Marketing is various theoretical approaches were developed based on the empirical facts in order to arising a concept regarding the reference of action at practical level or operational and managerial level. The series of management activities, marketing management could be seen as company’s effort in dealing with more competitive global competition. Those efforts were conducted by the companies in dealing with competition through the application of marketing strategy, combined with competitive advantage strategy, as well as batik industry at Surakarta, Central Java.The growth of batik industry which is getting tighter in the middle of the various type of batik of the world, batik Indonesia has not yet losing its characteristics. Even batik of Central Java which is consider to have the richest design is still possessing its soul/spirit. Nevertheless, as neighboring countries are rapidly promoting their batik’s products through various continents, batik of Indonesia seemed made no further progress (stay still). Batik which is wear as daily clothing recently is indeed print out with batik’s motif/design. There is indeed an enlightening development in a matter of batik’s consumption nowadays. If batik was only used for certain events, today, its region of utilization has became more broaden. Batik is also often modified with other motif / design for daily clothing. Along with the times, batik is also squirming. Its fabrics is presenting with its latest design.From the result of the test toward the model within this research, using estimation of Maximum Likelihood Estimation (ML), analysis of Structural Equation Model (SEM), and the assistance of Amos 6 software toward 200 respondents of batik entrepreneurs at Surakarta, it is able to provide the explanation regarding the influence of marketing diffusion and marketing orientation toward competitive advantage in developing/increasing market performance at batik’s companies at Surakarta.Within this research, the result obtained from marketing strategy (Products, Price, Promotion, and Distribution), and Marketing Orientation, providing positive influence toward Competitive advantage with the value of first Determination Coefficients (R2) is equal to 0,841, it shows that by using marketing strategy and maximum marketing orientation, it could increase company’s competitive advantage of batik’s companies at Surakarta as much as 84,1%, the value of second Determination Coefficient (R2) is equal to 0,791, which means that by marketing strategy, marketing orientation and high competitive advantage could increase the performance of batik’s company at Surakarta as much as 79,1%.Key words       :           Marketing strategy, Marketing Orientation, Competitive Advantage, Marketing Performance

Abstract

In new order era, the role of government was dominant, it was also as key in technologyintroduction process. Adoption of innovation process of technology product in development wasmore depended on NGOs or society initative.How is the effect of that changing toward development communication model ? Thisresearch tries to explore the influence of changing politic and agent innovation diffusion processtoward the acceptance of a new technology. This research will also explore how the promotionagent changing in innovation diffusion in influences form or communication model in technologyintroduction process.Based on research, it is found that politic context and promotion agent changing in innovationdiffusion influences appropriate technology acceptance process in woman entrepreneursin Kasongan Village.In the previous era, government had much role as a promotion agent. But now in reformera, the role as a promotion agent are handled by artists, volunteer, NGOs, Universities (Lecturesand student), individual and groups of society. They use communication channel wich theopener. Communication mode which is placed society as a source of innovation diffusion causedthe acceptance level innovation product is high among woman entrepreneurs in Kasongan.Generally, woman entrepreneurs who are as research sources accept innovations aroundthemselves. There are many kind of innovation which are used. Abstract

The research on the use of mulch of Imperata cylindrica, Mucuna bracteata, and palm midrib compost on the germination and growth of Mikania micrantha had been conducted at the Laboratory of Biology and Botany Gardens, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Riau from September to November 2013. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of mulch thickness of I. cylindrica, M. bracteata and palm midrib compost on the germination and growth of M. micrantha, using randomized block design, with seven treatments (M0, M1, M2, M3, M4, M5, and M6). Each treatment had seven replicates with two different thickness of mulch, i.e. 2,5 and 5 cm. The results showed that mulch of I. cylindrica, M. bracteata and palm midrib compost affected the germination and growth of weeds M. micrantha. Mulching with 2,5 cm thickness could inhibit the germination and growth of weed M. micrantha up to 100 %.

Abstract

Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana L.) from Bengkalis island has many superiorities such as growing in the marshes and tolerant to acid soil (peat soil). In vitro culture is an alternative way to get large number and uniform mangosteen seedling. The purpose of this research was to determine the best concentration of BAP (Benzylaminopurine) in inducing mangosteen’s shoots from Bengkalis. This research used Randomized Complete block Design (RAK) with 5 concentrations of BAP (0; 1; 3; 5; 7 mg/l) with 5 replications. The result of this research showed the fastest shoot forming time and highest number of shoots present in a concentration of 5 mg / l BAP at 13 DAP and 2 shoots per explant.

Abstract

Weed is one of the limiting factors of crop production. Some of weed controls use synthetic and organic herbicides. Organic herbicides are used as the environmentaly friendly weed control. One of potential plants as organic herbicides is Peperomia pellucida that contains allelopathic compound and essensial oil. The purposes of this research were to determine the effect of P. pellucida extract and the most effective and efficient extract concentration in inhibiting the germination and growth of Mikania micrantha. This research used Randomized Complete Design using four treatments, i. e. control, 7,5%, 15% and 30% of P. pellucida extracts. The collected data was analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) if the result was significantly different. The result showed the decrease of the germination and growth of M. micrantha weed. The most effective and efficient extract was 7,5% P. pellucida extract.

Abstract

Nyamplung (Calophyllum inophyllum L.) is a plant that has many functions, almost all parts of the plant can be used and have high economical and ecological functions.The purpose of this study were to test the growth ability of nyamplung at various periods of flooding and observe the morphological adaptations due to this treatments.This research was carried out for 30 days using a randomized block design (RBD) with a single factor, i.e. period of flooding which consisted of 4 treatments as follow P0: control (no flooding), P1 5 days of flooding periods, P2 10 days of flooding periods, and P3 continuous floding. The flood height from the soil was 2 cm. The results of this study indicated that the flooding periods did not significantly affect the plant fresh weight, the plant height as well as the number of leaves.The flooding periods significantly affected the percentage of root growth and root fresh weight. The morphological adaptation of Nyamplung in the period of flooding was by forming lenticels.While the seedling on continuously flooding treatment also formed adventitious roots. The 4 month nyamplung seedling could grow at all of the flooding periods with injury index at 5, 10 day flooding periods and continuously flooding period were 0, 0.09 and 0.58, respectively.

Abstract

"> Paper industry produce water wastethat contain organic and inorganic compounds. The efforts to control the pollution caused by waste is carried out using phytoremediationsuch as the use of Salvinia molesta(kiambang). The purpose of this research was to improve the quality of water in liquid organic water and paper pulp. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with five dilution treatment 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% and control (0%) for 15 days. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and followed by DMRT at 5% level. The results showedthat kiambang grown on paper and pulp wastecould improve the quality of waste at 25%concentrations, withincreasing DO content from 5 ppm to 16 ppmabove DO content of nomal water. Kiambang plant could absorb organic compounds and improved the value of DO while BOD, COD and TSS didn’t reach the water quality standard yet for all treatments. Howerver, for 25% and 50% consentration gave a closer result to the water quality standard.
