Abstract

International experience helps people to obtain an excellent human capital which significantly plays a crucial role to predict individuals? accomplishment both in academic and career. Therefore, this study purports to explore the psychological capital, social support, and career capital among Indonesian students who study in Taiwan. The participants consist of 120 students who were randomly selected and completed the online questionnaires. The findings of this study revealed that Indonesian students who study in Taiwan achieve an above average on their career capital, social support, and psychological capital. Furthermore, there were high and medium relationships among the three variables. It also demonstrated that students? social support fully mediated the relationship between students? career capital and psychological capital. Based on the research findings, conclusions and practical implications were provided.

Abstract

This study aims at determining the effectiveness of the learning model of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) on students? social behavior and learning outcomes. This study can be categorized as the quasi experimental method with pretest-posttest control group design. Data collection technique to measure students' social behavior was using questionnaires and to measure student learning outcomes was using post-test. Data analysis for student learning result was using U Mann Whitney test while the analysis on the social behavior of students was using descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicated that: (1) the student who stated that the learning model PjBL can increase the social behavior of students was 40.3%, the student who agreed was 39%, and the student who were hesitant with this learning model was 20.7% (2) the result of student learning outcomes with PjBL model increased with the mean score of 7.67 while the class with the conventional method was 4.67. The implications of the application of this model were the improvement of students?cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects.

Abstract

Abstrak Pemahaman konsep matematis dan self-efficacy siswa yang masih rendah menjadi latar belakang penelitian. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui pemahaman konsep matematika siswa dan menentukan efek self-efficacy pada pemahaman konseptual siswa setelah menerapkan model Discovery Learning. Jenis penelitian ini adalah pre-eksperimen dengan tes desain kelompok pre-test dan post-test. Data pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan pretest dan posttest, self-efficacy diperoleh melalui angket. Analisis data menggunakan analisis regresi linier sederhana, analisis korelasi dan uji t. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, pemahaman konsep matematika siswa telah meningkat dengan kriteria sedang. Analisis kuesioner menggunakan rumus N-Gain dan efikasi diri siswa yang diperoleh juga mengalami peningkatan kriteria sedang. Selanjutnya, uji signifikansi koefisien korelasi diperoleh thitung <ttabel, dapat disimpulkan bahwa self-efficacy dengan menerapkan model Discovery Learning mempengaruhi pemahaman konsep matematika pada siswa kelas XI MIA 1 Solok Selatan N 5 tidak signifikan Kata Kunci: self-efficacy, pemahaman konsep, discovery learning

Abstract

 The bagkround in this research is the lower understanding of math concept of student. The goal of this research is to know whether student’s math concept understanding by appying Guided Note Taking Strategy with Quiz better than the students math concept understanding by applying conventional learning to students VIII (eight) grade junior high school 4 Sijunjung. The research did in August, 28 until September, 13 2013. The kind of this research in experiment research. The population in this research is students VIII grade junior high school 4 Sijunjung. The sample technigue in this research randomized sample technique, as experiment class is VIII.1  and VIII.2 as control class.  The instrument in this research is quiz and final test with indicator concept understanding. The test form is used is essay test. The question of final test is eight with reliabilitas 0,91. The students learning result is analyzed by using MINITAB, because p-value < 0,05 then the hypothesis in this research is accepted. It is concluded that the students math concept understanding by applying Guided Note Taking Strategy with Quiz better than the student math concept understanding by applying conventional learning  to student VIII grade junior high school 4 Sijunjung.

Abstract

This reseach has background by understanding of concept so that student can’t contrutioning to their own concept understanding and more of the student can’t aplicate the concept problem solving which is they want. This research has purpose for to know the impact of active learning strategy type Guided Note Taking to student mathematic concept understanding on the subject aljabar factor. Kind of this research is experiment with plan random on subyek. The population is VIII SMPN 1 X Koto Singkarak and sample it VIIIC as experiment class and VIIIB as control class. This research use instrument is essay, that test about understanding of mathematical concepts student consist of 9 item  with reliability test  0,865. By virtue of data analysis get average of result learning of student experiment class better than control class. Hypothesis use test t-one way. Result thitung = 2,7248 and  ttabel = 1,6795, because thitung > ttabel so hypothesis acceptable. So the conclusion is learning with active learning type Guided Note Taking better than conventional learning at VIII SMPN 1 X Koto Singkarak

Abstract

This research is motivated because of low grade of the student’s inability of solving a different problem with example and to undersatand the mathematical concepts of 8th grade students of MTsTI Batang Kabung Padang. The research purpose to determine whether student’s understanding of mathematical concepts through the application of active learning strategies by using Index Card Match type is better than the student’s understanding od mathematical concepts by using conventional learning in class VIII MTsTI Batang Kabung Padang Acedemic Year 2013/ 2014. This type of research is experimental research of experimental studies Against Random Subjects. Analysis technique use the one party t test by using MINITAB. Based on the analysis of data obtained P-value is  smaller than , so it can be concluded that student’s understanding of mathematical concept using active learning strategies Index Card Match type is better than the students understanding of mathematical conceps by using conventional learning in class VIII MTsTI Batang Kabung Padang.

Abstract

The backgrounds of this research are that there are still many students acquiring low points and the mathematical concept apprehensions for the VIII-grade students of SMPN 12 Sijunjung of Lubuk Tarok District are low. The purpose of this research is to know whether the students’ mathematical concept apprehension by using two stays two guests technique is better than that using the conventional learning for the VIII-grade students of SMPN 12 Sijunjung of Lubuk Tarok District. This is an experimental research with Random to Subject design. The sampling technique is randomly. The instrument used in this research is final tests in the form of essay.        The technique of data analysis is t test of one party with the assistance of software MINITAB. Based on the hypothesis testing, it is obtained that P value is similar to 0.000, meaning to be smaller than α = 0.05; so that the hypothesis is accepted. Then it can be concluded that the students’ mathematical concept apprehension by applying two stays two guests technique with handouts is better than that using the conventional learning for the VIII-grade students of SMPN 12 Sijunjung of Lubuk Tarok District of the year 2013/2014.

Abstract

This research had background the lack of problem about students are less serious in that exercisegiven teacher and students’ comprehension’s mathematical concept. This research had a purpose to know that students’ comprehension mathematical concept in which the learning model applied was Cooperative Write-Pair-Share  type, better than students’ comprehension in was conventional learning at grade VIII of SMPN 6 Linggo Sari Baganti. Type of this research was experimental by research with random research design on the subject. Data analysis was done by using t-test with MINITAB’s software. Result of hypothesis testing, the researcher got p-value= 0,015 < , thus the hypothesis of this research was accepted. There can be concluded that students’ comprehension mathematical concept in which the teaching model applied was cooperaive learning write-Pair-Share type, was better than students’ comprehension of mathematical concept in which the applied was by conventional learning at grade VIII of SMPN 6 Linggo Sari Baganti.

Abstract

The background of this research is students mathematical concept comprehension is low. The type of this research is experimental research by design randomized trial on the subject. Population in this study were all of the students in the class VIII SMPN 6 X Koto Singkarak Kabupaten Solok. The technique in taking the sample is randomly, as an experimental class VIII3 and a control class VIII2. The istrument that researcher used in this study is the analysis of learning quiz and essay from for final test. The data obtained in the analysis by using a normality test, homogenity test and t-test. The analysis of the data found that the mean score of quiz for the first meeting is 82.05, second meeting is 84.11, third meeting is 80,84 and forth meeting 89.21. The mean score of the final test was found that 72.02 in experimental   class. It  was  better  than  the mean  score  of  control  class  60.61.t-test in this research by using one way with software MINITAB get P-value equal to 0,017, it means that less than α = 0,05, this the hypothetical in this study received. In conclusion by applying cooperative learning techniques of  Two Stay Two stray is accompanied quiz better than the students concept comprehension by using conventional learning students of class VIII SMPN 6 X Koto Singkarak with a 95% confidence level

Abstract

The research is done of the problem of student’s achievement of mathematic concept were low. The purpose of this research to know how far using Cooperative Learning Method Type Think Pair Share (TPS) through Speed Test better than student’s achievement of mathematic concept with conventional teaching. This research will be conducted in Experimental research, with The Random Trial to Subject. Population of this research was students at seventh Grade of SMPN 1 Kec. Lareh Sago Halaban in 2012/2013 year. The technique of data collection is random, that the research choose VII 4  as experimental class and VII 3 as control class. The instrument was use in this research is post test of comprehension of mathematic concept. The treatment essay with reliability test . The technique analysis data that is use by helping MINITAB software. Based on the result of data analysis, the research know that two class sample was normal and homogen at . The hypothesis result get p-value same with  it’s mean that lower than  so the hypothesis of this research is received, it can be concluded that the effect of using Cooperative Learning Method Type Think Pair Share through Speed Test better than student’s achievement of mathematic concept that is tough by using conventional teaching at seventh grade of SMPN 1 Kec.
