Abstract

The formulas of antiacne gel preparation of ethyl acetate extract of gambir have been formulated by using carbopol 940P as its bases. In thisstudy, five difference gel formulas F1, F2, F3, F4 and F5, were prepared with 0.5; 1; 2; 4 and 6% of concentration of extract, respectively.The result showed that organoleptic of al formulas was found unstable, while the appearance of gel F1 and F2 were homogeneous and stableat room temperature as well as cooling process. In addition, all formulas exhibited stable value in pH evaluation and did not irritate the skin.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the relative importance of general (GCA) and specific (SCA) combining ability and heterosis effects on resistance to C. gloeosporioides in selected papaya genotypes. A half diallel mating scheme of five genotypes of papaya were evaluated in the field. The combining ability analysis revealed that both the additive and nonadditive gene effects were present.  Crosses between the resistance and susceptible genotypes showed intermediate disease reaction to papaya anthracnose disease (PAD) suggesting a polygenic system of resistance to the disease. Highly resistance heterosis of 51.51% at Tajur and 48.71% at Gunung Geulis were expressed in crosses between IPB5 x PB000174.   Key words: Papaya, anthracnose, GCA, SCA, heterosis

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh stadia pertumbuhan dan konsentrasi ekstrak kirinyuh terhadap pertumbuhan gulma bayam duri, serta interaksi diantara kedua faktor tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) faktorial yang terdiri dari 2 faktor yaitu stadia pertumbuhan (vegetatif dan generatif) dan konsentrasi (10%, 20%, 30%, dan 40%). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan stadia pertumbuhan berpengaruh terhadap tinggi gulma pada 2 dan 3 MSA (Minggu Setelah Aplikasi), diameter batang pada 1, 2 dan 3 MSA, dan luas daun. Stadia pertumbuhan vegetatif lebih efektif dalam menghambat pertumbuhan gulma bayam duri. Konsentrasi berpengaruh terhadap tinggi gulma pada 2 dan 3 MSA, diameter batang pada 2 dan 3 MSA, dan luas daun. Konsentrasi 40% merupakan penekanan terbaik terhadap tinggi gulma pada 2 dan 3 MSA, diameter batang pada 2 dan 3 MSA, dan luas daun bayam duri. Terdapat interaksi antara stadia pertumbuhan dan konsentrasi ekstrak kirinyuh terhadap tinggi gulma pada 2 dan 3 MSA, diameter batang pada 2 dan 3 MSA, dan luas daun bayam duri. Interaksi terbaik terdapat pada stadia pertumbuhan vegetatif dengan konsentrasi 40% yang efektif untuk mengendalikan bayam duri.

Abstract

Abstrak.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakter morfologi beberapa genotipe. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) faktor tunggal dengan 3 ulangan, setiap satuan percobaan terdiri dari 2 tanaman sehingga terdapat 42 tanaman. genotipe yang diuji adalah 7 genotipe pepaya, yaitu: Bontang, Calina, Carmida, Carisya, Dapina Hibrida 2x1 dan Ponti. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa genotipe berpengaruh nyata terhadap beberapa karakter morfologi pepaya, yaitu: panjang bunga, umur panen dan berat buah utuh.Seluruh karakter yang diamati memiliki nilai duga heritabilitas yang tinggi dan dapat digunakan untuk tujuan pemuliaan tanaman. Abstract. This study aims to determine the character of morphological genotypes of papaya. This study uses a randomized complete block design (RAK) single factor with three replications, each experimental unit consists of two plants so that there are 42 plants. Factors tested are seven genotypes of papaya, namely: Bontang, Calina, Carmida, Carisya, Dapina Hybrid 2x1 and Ponti. The results showed that genotype significantly affect several morphological characters papaya, namely: length of flower, harvesting dan whole fruit weight. Heritability high of all character and can use to selection for plant breeding project.

Abstract

The ability to develop resistance has been demonstrated by Rhizobacteria in several plant species in order to providing protection against plant pathogen attacks. The use of Rhizobacteria is expected to suppress the attack of Fusarium pathogen in local pepper plants in Aceh. This study is aimed at obtaining information about the important role of Rhizobacterium in inducing the resistance of local pepper plants in Aceh to the attack of Fusarium oxysporum. The research was conducted from March to September 2018 at Seed Science Laboratory and Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University. The study used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) Factorial with 2 factors. The first factor was the local peppers (Odeng, Lamando Lapaben, Super Lamando 002 and Lanyoe SS). The second factor was Rhizobacteria isolates (HWI 5 (4) and HWI 8 (6)) which were obtained from the collection of Seed Science Laboratory. The parameters observed: pathogen incubation period, plant height, stem diameter and number of productive branches. The results revealed that the incubation period of F. oxysporum varied in each genotype and type of Rhizobacteria. The application of Rhizobacteria is slowing down the incubation period to 1-3 days in all tested genotypes. Rhizobacteria increased the plants growth especially in HWI 8 (6), characterized by taller plants and larger trunks. The highest interaction between the local genotype of pepper plants and the type of Rhizobacteria was found in the genotypes of Lamando Lapaben and HWI 5 (4) for its number of productive branches.

Abstract

Research of prediction parameter genetics in cacao plants at the nursery fase important asinformation on cacao plants that is resistant to attack Phytoptora palmivora and cancharacterized of morphology of that plants. The goal of this research is to know the value ofthought of the parameters of genetics on growth and resistance characters to black poddisease for some of Aceh?s origin genotypes. The research is done in two packages, namelythe growth and resistance plants packages. Design used are thought of random complete(ral)with ten genotypes as treatments and repeated as many as three times. Variables enduranceare qualitative variable (the form of stem of plant, a leaf shape, form the base of a leaf, theform of leaf tips, and flush color) quantitative variable (high plants, long leaves, number ofleaves per stem, wide leaves, and the angle between the leaves with stem), and resistancevariable (the incubation, the percentage of disease, and severity of illness). The result showthat: genotype categorized somewhat endurance element is AT7 and SR45.
