Abstract

Small Medium Enterprise (SME) plays a strategic role in developing countries economy. Each of SMEs has unique strategy of order fulfillment management. This is influenced by factor dynamics influencing the system. The system characteristic becomes the inspiration to be studied furthermore continues especially using system dynamics modeling approach. System dynamics modeling approach used because this method used to know and learn the system behavior. This paper represents of order fulfillment management analysis with case study at CV. Kurnia Jaya ? Yogyakarta. The developed model has 4 sub models: customer order sub model, order fulfillment sub model, raw material management sub model and labor sub model. Next step is calibrating the developed model with boundary adequacy test, extreme conditions test and behavior reproduction test. After passing all these steps, the developed model to be ran with policy design (different scenario of order such as: constant order, step order, impulse order and actual order). Finally 3 alternative recommendations proposed for increasing the production rate so the order backlog and delivery delay decrease.

Abstract

During project implementation, risk becomes an integral part of project monitoring. Therefore. a tool that could dynamically include elements of risk in project progress monitoring is needed. This objective of this study is to develop a general framework that addresses such a concern. The developed framework consists of three interrelated major building blocks, namely: Risk Register (RR), Bayesian Network (BN), and Project Time Networks (PTN) for dynamic project monitoring. RR is used to list and to categorize identified project risks. PTN is utilized for modeling the relationship between project activities. BN is used to reflect the interdependence among risk factors and to bridge RR and PTN. A residential development project is chosen as a working example and the result shows that the proposed framework has been successfully applied. The specific model of the development project is also successfully developed and is used to monitor the project progress. It is shown in this study that the proposed BN-based model provides superior performance in terms of forecast accuracy compared to the extant models.

Abstract

A preliminary research in 2012 indicated that the prevalence of Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) among children under-five in Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) Province, Indonesia, was related to high concentration of indoor PM10 concentration from the burning of wood in simple stoves in the traditional huts (Ume Kbubu). Out of the data obtained, a CEGs action research was done in 2013. Smoke produced from wood burning stoves inside the Ume Kbubu tends to flow up higher into the air in the confined room of the traditional huts. An application of partition and chimney upon the stoves was expected to drive the smoke to the upper part of the hut to mitigate the exposure to indoor smoke pollution for the inhabitants of the huts. Engaging the local community, an action-research using an observational cross-sectional data collection was done in 3 Sub-districts of Nunkolo, Oinlasi, and Kuanfatu, District of Timor Tengah Selatan, NTT. The action-research combined the use of a questionnaire, the measurement of the level of indoor air pollution by examining the PM10 and CO concentrations, the delivery of a general health education program, and the application of a room-partition and a chimney in each of Ume Kbubu selected. A higher concentration of PM10 (9.69 ± 8.8 ppm) was found inside the traditional huts at the height of 1½ meter as compared to 4.39 ± 5.82 ppm at the height of ½ meter examination points. This a sign that the smoke tends to concentrate on the higher level of a room. A significant health risks level of CO (86.2 ± 53.42 ppm) were also found. By driving the smoke through the application of partition and chimney upon the stove in the traditional huts the research found a prospective effective measure to control indoor air pollution in reducing the exposure of the inhabitants from smoke in the traditional huts. From the questionnaire, it was found that water collection was also a burden for the household members. Conclusion: The application of chimney and room-partition gave a promising improvement in the effort to mitigate the exposure of the inhabitant from the indoor air pollution in the traditional huts of Timor Tengah Selatan.

Abstract

Bawor Character Creation Process. The classical shadow play with leather puppets that has been acknowledged as a cultural heritage coming from Indonesia is potential to compete in global level. Bawor, one of the punakawan characters in Banyumasan leather puppet show, has a similar physical appearance with Semar who adopted him as a son. Bawor’s character is considered to be identical with the character of Banyumas people, for example they are believed to be honest. The works of art that have been inspired by Bawor show some form transformations. The form is changed to get funny impression. However, there are still certain messages to be delivered by means of those funny forms. Although there are many possible interpretation, but visually those figures still can be identified as the fat Bawor. So far, craft is regarded as identical with ornament. These Bawors that were depicted without ornamentwere an adjustment to the visual art development nowadays. Keywords: Bawor, craft, ornament

Abstract

This study aims at analyzing economic calculations of broiler farm activities which applied two different housing systems (closed and opened house system) at Malang Regency. Data were collected from two selected broiler farmers from April 15th to May 11st, 2013. Then the data were analyzed using economic and descriptive method. The results show that farmers who applied closed housing system were able to earn more profit (Rp2.214,-/bird/period) than those who applied opened housing system (Rp1.875,-/bird/period). However, farmers with closed housing system paid higher pro-duction costs than those with the opened housing system. Another findings show that both (closed and opened house) systems were economically viable for broiler production since they provide a good R/C ratio. This study suggests broiler farmers who tend to apply closed housing systems should modify the equipments which require higher costs. Keywords: Broiler farming, R/C ratio and BEP
