Abstract

The present study aims to develop technology to utilize a vacuum residue by reducing its density, viscosity and energy bonding, using a batch reactor equipped with CO2 injection gas in the form of a swelling process. The study was conducted by applying temperature varied between 60 and 100 °C and CO2 flux pressure varied between 1 and 5 MPa, respectively. The study of applying temperature and CO2 flux pressure are used to decrease the bond energy of hydrocarbon compounds in the form of solid vacuum residue. Furthermore, a series of reaction time was carried out started in the range of 10-30 minutes to obtain the optimum reaction time. The result showed that at temperature of 100°C, pressure of 5 MPa and variation of time, the density, viscosity, and  decrease in energy bonding (?G) were in the range of 0.919-0.902 g/cm3, 495-166 cSt, and 8.627?6.436 J.s, respectively. A B S T R A KPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan teknologi pemanfaatan vacuum residue dengan mengurangi densitas, viskositas dan energi ikatan. Pada penelitian ini digunakan reaktor batch yang dilengkapi dengan gas injeksi CO2 dalam bentuk proses swelling. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menerapkan variasi temperatur  antara 60-100 °C dan tekanan fluks CO2 bervariasi antara 1-5 MPa. Rentang temperatur dan tekanan fluks CO2 yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengurangi energi ikatan senyawa hidrokarbon dalam bentuk padatan vacuum residue. Selanjutnya, serangkaian waktu reaksi dilakukan mulai dari 10, 15, 20, 25, dan 30 menit untuk mendapatkan waktu reaksi yang optimum. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada temperatur konstan (100 °C), tekanan konstan (5 MPa) dan variasi waktu diperoleh penurunan densitas (0,919?0,902 g/cm3), viskositas (495-166 cSt), dan penurunan energi ikatan (?G) menjadi 8,627?6,436 Js.

Abstract

This study tested the effect of electromagnetic field on density and viscosity of vacuum residue from PT. PERTAMINA Refinery Unit III Plaju. The study was conducted using a batch reactor equipped with electromagnetic. The fixed variable in this study is the vacuum residue mass and cracking time, while the variables which are varied are reaction temperature and electromagnetic field. The study was conducted to see the effect of temperatures ranging from 100, 200, 300 and 400oC, and the use of electromagnets with electric currents of 0A, 5A, 10A, 15A and 20A on the density and viscosity of vacuum residue. The experiment compared the effect of the process with electromagnetic field and without electromagnetic field on the density and viscosity of vacuum residue. The results showed that the lowest density (0.874 g/cm3) and viscosity (0.481 cP) were obtained by using 20A electric current electromagnetic field at a temperature of 400oC.A B S T R A KPenelitian ini dilakukan untuk menguji pengaruh medan elektomagnetik terhadap densitas dan viskositas vakum residu petroleum dari PT. PERTAMINA Unit Pengolahan III Plaju. Pengujian dilakukan dalam reaktor-batch yang dilengkapi dengan elektromagnetik. Variabel tetap dalam penelitian ini adalah massa vakum residu dan waktu cracking, sedangkan variabel yang divariasi adalah suhu cracking dan kuat arus listrik elektromagnetik. Studi dilakukan untuk melihat pengaruh suhu mulai dari 100, 200, 300, dan 400oC, serta penggunaan elektromagnet dengan arus listrik sebesar 0A, 5A, 10A, 15A dan 20A terhadap perubahan densitas dan viskositas dari vakum residu. Eksperimen yang dilakukan membandingkan pengaruh proses dengan medan elektromagnetik dan tanpa medan elektromagnet terhadap densitas dan viskositas vacuum residue. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai densitas dan viskositas vakum residu terendah diperoleh pada penggunaan medan elektromagnetik dengan arus listrik 20A pada suhu 400oC yaitu pada nilai denitas sebesar 0,874 g/cm3 dan nilai viskositas sebesar 0,481 cP.

Abstract

The presence of H2S in natural gas is very detrimental to ammonia industry because it can poison and deactivate steam reforming catalysts. In the ammonia plant Pusri-IB PT. Pusri Palembang, H2S was separated in the Desulfurizer Unit (201-D) by adsorption using ZnO adsorbent at low temperature (28 ° C). Unfortunately, in this process the ZnO adsorbent cannot be regenerated so that within one year the ZnO adsorbent will be saturated with sulfur. The alternative process of H2S separation is to dissociate H2S into its constituent elements (hydrogen and sulfur) with catalytic process. The magnesium oxide catalyst was chosen because magnesium oxide is a metal oxide compound widely known in the catalysis process and has two active sites. The highest H2S conversion that can be achieved by MgO catalyst is 92.29%. Unlike ZnO, MgO does not absorb H2S, but catalyzes the dissociation of H2S into hydrogen and solid sulfur without being changed consumed by the reaction itself so that the MgO catalyst has a longer life time than the ZnO adsorbent.A B S T R A KKandungan H2S dalam gas alam sangat merugikan bagi industri amoniak karena dapat meracuni dan mendeaktivasi katalis steam reforming. Di pabrik amoniak Pusri-IB PT. Pusri Palembang, H2S dipisahkan di Unit Desulfurizer (201-D) secara adsorpsi dengan menggunakan adsorben ZnO pada temperatur rendah (28 ° C). Namun sangat disayangkan, pada proses ini adsorben ZnO tidak dapat diregenerasi sehingga dalam kurun waktu satu tahun adsorben ZnO akan jenuh oleh sulfur. Salah satu alternatif proses pemisahan H2S adalah dengan mendisosiasi H2S menjadi unsur penyusunnya yaitu hidrogen dan sulfur dengan bantuan katalis. Katalis magnesium oksida dipilih karena magnesium oksida merupakan senyawa metal oksida yang penggunaannya sudah dikenal luas dalam proses katalisis serta memiliki dua gugus aktif. Konversi H2S tertinggi yang dapat dicapai katalis MgO adalah sebesar 92,29%. Berbeda halnya dengan ZnO, MgO tidak menyerap H2S, namun mengkatalisis proses disosiasi H2S menjadi hidrogen dan sulfur padat tanpa mengalami perubahan atau terkonsumsi oleh reaksi itu sendiri sehingga katalis MgO memiliki life time yang lebih lama dibanding adsorben ZnO.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to develop the student?s activity sheet as support the implementation. This research used a research and development Research and Development (R & D) with 4-D model of development that includes Definition, Design, Develop and Disseminate. Research and development conducted in the Laboratory of the Department of Study Program of Chemistry Education PMIPA the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education University of Riau. The object of this research was the students? activity paper based on the problem solving. The data analysis techniques used in the study was descriptive statistical analysis, by calculating the percentage of validation value. The average score of the five aspects of student?s activity sheet by validator?s team, such as the content properness, presentation, didactic, construction (linguistic) and technical (graphical) respectively has a value of eligibility 89.58%, 93.75%,90, 96.67% and 89.5%, totality score validation is 91.9% meaning the student?s activity sheet developed (LKPD Developed) is proper be use in chemistry learning.Key Words: Student Activity Sheet, Problem Solving, Ksp

Abstract

Research of development that held to produce student worksheet (SWS) based on valid inquiry, practice, and effective to complete courses of chemistry learning strategy. The method that used is research of development. The research used consists of four steps, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate, because the limit of time and cost, research just used until to development step. Data of research collected through evaluation sheets filled by validator. Internal validation of SWS describe that SWS writing contain indicators assessment, writing use capital letters, the distance between topic letter with information letter was different, but still used more than 10 words in line. For contain assessment can used by students with various understanding, yet include steps to find, but give various activities (read, discuss, and answer). SWS give opportunities to find different information because instruction that used in exercise requires students to read paper and another book. This activity can develop social and emotional relation, because students werediscuss in their group. Language that used has same with intellectual level of students. Format assessment describe that SWS have a title, purpose, resume, work steps, questions and include reference, also table. It requires students to implement the examples in learning activity.

Abstract

Vacuum Residue as feedstock derived from Pertamina Refinery Unit III was cracked in a fixed batch reactor under thermal and catalytic with single stage pyrolysis process using active alumina oxide (Al2O3) as a catalyst. The catalytic pyrolysis process carried out at a temperature 450°C in the presence of a varied catalyst to feed ratio 0.5-2.5 w/w% and varied of reaction times 5-30 minutes. While the thermal process performed under same operating conditions without presence the catalyst. The effect of alumina catalyst ratio on quantity and quality of yield product, the effect of operating conditions (reaction times) on yield distribution has been investigated. As a result, the cracked products are liquid, gas and coke residue. The yield of liquid products was dominant, the highest catalyst ratio showed the highest yield of the liquid product reached 63.1 wt% and the lowest yield of coke residue by 24.75 wt%. The highest yield of gas by 23.9 wt% was found at minimum catalyst used by 0.5 wt%

Abstract

School librarian must deliver information literacy for students in library. Than librarian create comfortable interior design, so student will enjoy library, and librarian can teach students easily. One of the best interior design of Child-Friendly Library is Room To Read method. The writer has been involved in this program, use best practice method in this research, so this research explain how to creating interior design of Child-Friendly Library in primary school. The result of this research are two steps to change library is like library as Room To Read?s design interior. The steps are (1) must have a room and (2) comfortable, safe, & secure interior design.
