Abstract

Developing students skill in solving story-based question is one of infortant objectives mathematics teaching atschool, since such story-based question will upgrade student’s ability in problem solving. Problem solvingability should be possed by students, because through this activity student are expected to understandmathematic materials well, and indirectly the creativity of students can be attracted. In fact, during learningprocess is undergoing, most students find it difficult answering story-based question. On other hand, if thequestion not based on stories, they can answer perfectly. Besides that teachers conjess that they rarely give andteach story-based question for such questionsplaced at last number and teacher are unexperienced on how tosolve the questions. Therefore, class action research is badly needed to increase student learning result basesdon story-based question learning. By doing so, giving story-based question refering to the daily students willgive much attention the use and benefit of mathematics. It stand to reson students will give much attentiontoward the leaning process that will give positive effect toward their learning outcome. The result in thisresearch is learning with started with giving the essay that can increase the studying result of the 1st classstudent in SLTPN at the subdistrict Banuhampu Sungai Puar in Period 2000/2001

Abstract

Abstract: This research is based on the results of observations and interviews conducted by researchers in schools on learning tools used by teachers who do not show learning activities that involve students directly in finding and applying mathematical concepts in accordance with the demands of the 2013 curriculum. Therefore, the researcher develops the learning tools of mathematics in the form of syllabus, the learning implementation plan and the student worksheet based on discovery learning model with valid and practical for curved face three dimensional objects topic. This research and development use development model ADDIE. The steps of this research and development are need analysis, collect the reference, design the learning tools of mathematic, develop the learning tools of mathematic, validated by three validators and further revised based on the input from validators. The revised is test to small group consist of nine students of class IX SMP Negeri 1 Pekanbaru. The result of data analysis from the developed mathematics learning tools shows the average of syllabus valisation is 2.96, the average validation of the learning implementation plan is 3.34, the average validation of the student worksheet is 3.25, and the practical level of the student worksheet is 83.23 %. Based on the analysis of data and discussion can be concluded that learning tools developed in the form of syllabus, the learning implementation plan and the student worksheet have been assessed valid after through the validation process and the student worksheet are developed also have qualified practicality for students use class IX after going through the test phase.Key words: Learning Tools of Mathematic, Development, Discovery Learning Models, Curved Face Three Dimensional Objects

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to improve the learning process and to increase mathematics outcomes from the students of class X MIA 1 SMA PGRI Pekanbaru with applied Discovery Learning model. This research is a class action research with two cycle. The subject of this research is the students of class X MIA 1 SMA PGRI Pekanbaru in academic year 2018/2019, which total of participants are 30 students, consists of 15 male students and 15 female students with heterogeneous ability. The instruments used in this research were mathematical learning instruments and the instruments of collecting data. The mathematical learning instruments used include syllabus, lesson plan, and student work sheet, and the instruments of collecting data were observation sheets used to get the teacher and student activity data and learning outcome test used to get mathematics outcome data after learning process. The data analysis techniques used narrative analysis and descriptive statistic analysis. From the analysis of observation sheets, it can be seen that there is improvement of learning process after the discovery learning model being implemented. The data of the student?s evaluation test showed that the students reaches Minimun Mastery Criteria (MMC) of knowledge competency from the basic score to the first test, from the first test to the second test increase from 12 students (40%) become 20 students (66,67%) and increase become 80%. Persentage of students reaches Minimun Mastery Criteria (MMC) of skills competency increase from first test to the second test where the first test 15 students (50%) to the second test 21 students (70%). Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that implementation of discovery learning model can improve learning process and increase student?s mathematics outcome at class X MIA 1 SMA PGRI Pekanbaru in academic year 2018/2019.Key Words: Mathematics Outcomes, Discovery Learning Model, Class Action Research

Abstract

Abstract: The background of this research is the restrict of mathematics learning instruments as supporting learning referring to 2013 Curriculum. This research aimed to develop mathematics learning device that are syllabus, Lesson Plan (RPP), and Students Worksheet (LKPD) using experiential learning model on prism and pyramid of 8th grade.This type of this research is development research (R & D) using the 4D development procedure; define, design, develop and desseminate. The valid learning device then tested in two stages, the small group trial with subjects are 10 students of class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Pekanbaru and large group trial with subjects are 35 students of class VIIIHL SMP Negeri 1 Pekanbaru. Based on the data analysis and discussion can be concluded that the syllabus, RPP, and LKPD are valid with an average value for the syllabus is 3.84, the average value for the RPP is 3.73, and the average value for the LKPD is 3.58, and LKPD is practical to use by learners class VII with an average value for the small group trial is 98.75% and the average value for large group trial is 94.8%.Key Words: Learning Instruments, Experiential Learning Models, Validity and Practicality

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to improve learning process and the student?s mathematics learning outcomes through implementation of Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model. This research is Classroom Action Research conducted in class VII SMP 1 Singingi Kelas Jauh Kebun Lado in the even semester of the academic year 2018/2019. The subject of this research consist of 20 students. The research consist of two cycles, each cycle have four stages. The research instrument consists of learning materials and instruments for collecting data. Learning materials used in this research are the syllabus, Lesson Plan and Activity Sheets. The instruments of data collection and students mathematic tests. The observation sheets is analyzed in qualitative desciptive, while the students mathematic tests is analyzed in quantitative descriptive. The qualitative descriptive show an improvement of learning process prior to the action on the first and second cycle. The results of this study indicate the number of students who reached Minimum Mastery Criteria of knowledge increase from basic score to first test and second test. The results of this research showed an increasing number of students learning mathematics about knowledge of the basic score (35%) to the first test (65%) to the second test (85%). For the skills of the first test (60%) to the second test (75%). From these data it can be concluded that the application of Problem Based Learning can increase mathematics achievement from the students at class VII SMP 1 Singingi Kelas Jauh Kebun Lado in academic years 2018/2019 .Key Words: Problem Based Learning model, Mathematics Learning Outcomes

Abstract

Abstract: The background of this research is the low ability of mathematical problem solving. The aim of this research is to know whether the implementation of problem solving strategy on cooperative learning Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) type give a good influence towards the enhancement of mathematical problem solving ability to all students of SMP Negeri in Pekanbaru. This research is quasi-experiment and the design which used is nonequivalent control group. The population of this research was all students of SMP Negeri in Pekanbaru academic year 2017/2018. The samples were determined by purposive sampling technique, that two classes were selected, which were VIII.9 as the experimental class and VIII.8 as the control class. The experimental class was implemented by using problem solving strategy on cooperative learning STAD type and the control class was implemented by using conventional learning process. The data of this research was the enhancement of mathematical problem solving ability which obtained by the data of KPMM test before the treatment is given (pre-test) and the data of KPMM test after the treatment is given (post-test). The data was collected by giving a written test and it was analyzed by using one of statistical testing of hypothesis, which was Independent Samples t-Test. The result of statisctical testing of hypotesis shows that the implementation of problem solving strategy on cooperative learning Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) type give a good influence towards the enhancement of mathematical problem solving ability to all students of SMP Negeri in Pekanbaru.Key Words: Problem Solving Strategy, Cooperative Learning STAD Type, Mathematical Problem Solving Ability.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to improve the learning process and increase the student?s mathematics learning outcomes through of The Implementation of Quick On The Draw Activity In STAD Type Cooperative Learning. This type of research is the Classroom Action Research with two cycle. The research was conducted in class VIII.6 in the first semester of the 2016/2017 academic year with the subject of as many as 34 students, consist of 13 boys and 21 girls. The research instrument consists of learning devices and instrument data collectors. Learning device used in this research is the Syllabus, Lesson Plan, Worksheet and Questions Card. The instrument data collector used in this research is the observation sheet and math achievement test. Data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis. Based on the result of the research showed that implementation of learning process on cycle II had happened improvement from implementation on cycle I. Weakness on cycle I is improved on implementation cycle II according with planning of improvement after reflection cycle I. Number of students that reach Minimum Mastery Criteria increase from basic score to daily test 2. The number of students who reach Minimum Mastery Criteria on basic score, daily test 1 and daily test 2 are respectively 8 person (23,52%), 13 person (38,23%) and 19 person (55,88%). Results of this research indicates that application of the Quick on the Draw Aktivity in Cooperative Learning of STAD can improve learning process and increase mathematics learning outcomes from the students at class VIII.6 MTsN Ujung Tanjung in the first semester academic years 2016/2017 at Basic Competencies 1.3 understanding the concept of relation and functions , 1.4  determining the value of the function and 1.5 sketching graphs simple algebra functions on the coordinate system.

Abstract

Abstract: This research is classroom action research which aims to improve the learning process and the result of learning mathematics by applying problem based learning (PBL) model. The subject of this research is student of class X MIA 3 MAN 3 Pekanbaru in academic years 2018/2019, which amounted to 29 students. Instruments on this reserach constisted of syllabus, lesson plans and worksheets, and instruments of data collection which is observation sheets and the test result sheets. The function of observation sheet is to obtain data from the learning process, while the function of results sheet of the mathematics learning tests is to obtain the results of the study. The data obtained are then analyzed by the technique of analyzing the data of teacher and student activities as well as data analysis of student mathematics learning outcomes. The descriptive of observation sheets through the stage of data reduction, data exposure and inference and students? mathematic tests showed an improvement of learning process prior to the action on the first and second cycles and improve the students? achievement of learning mathematic. On the knowledge competence, from the basic score of 3 students or 10,34% increased to 15 students or 34,48% in the first cycle and increased to 14 students or 48,28% in Cycle II. On the skills competence, the number of students who reach the minimum criteria of mastery learning from Cycle I of 9 students or 31% improve to 15 students or 51,7% in cycle II. The results of this analysis indicate that the implementation of the PBL model can improve the learning achievement students of class X MIA 3 MAN 3 Pekanbaru academic year 2018/2019.Key Words: Students? Abstract

 ABSTRACTThis study was conducted at SMP Negri 4 Tualang in the second semester of the school years 2012/2013. The subject of the research is students of class VIIIE. There are 36 student in that class, consisting 18 girl and 18 boys who have heterogeneous academic ability. The goal of this study is to improve students? mathematics achievement, especially in geometrical (cubes, blocks, prisms, and limas) by applying the Cooperative Learning Think Pair Square Approach. This study is an action research. There are two cycles and four stages in this study. Each cycle has four stages, they are planning, action, observation, and reflection. The result of research showed that the improvement of students learning achievement. The percentage of first cycle showed that students who get minimum achievement criteria (MMC), from 50% to 72,22%. While, in the second cycle, the percentage of students who minimum achievement criteria (MMC) increase to 91,66%. In other words, the implementation of Cooperative Learning Think Pair Square can improve students? mathematics achievement in class VIIIE of SMP Negeri 4 Tualang, especially in geometrical in the school years 2012/2013.          Key words: Cooperative Learning, Think Pair Square, Learning Achievement

Abstract

Absract: The research was classroom action research that aims to improve learning process and mathematics learning outcomes with applied the cooperative learning Think Pair Square (TPS) structural approach. The subject of the research is students of class X Motorcycle Engineering SMK Negeri 1 Simpang Kanan in the second semester academic years 2015/2016. There are 28 students in the class, consist of 20 boys who have heterogeneous academic ability. The research are two cycles. Each a cycle has four stages, that are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Each end of the cycle of daily tests carried out. The instrument of data collection on this research are observation sheets and mathematics learning outcomes tests. Analysis data of observation was performed with narrative descriptive analysis and analysis data of mathematics learning outcomes was performed with descriptive statistical analysis. From the narrative descriptive analysis showed an improvement of learning process from the prior action to the first cycle and the second cycle. The results of this research showed an increasing number of students learning Mathematic from the basic score are 8 students with percentage 28.57 % to 10 students with percentage 35.7 % on the first test and 13 students with percentage 46.4 % on second test. Results of this research indicates that applied the cooperative learning cooperative learning think pair square structural approach can improve learning process and students mathematics learning outcomes math class X Motorcycle Engineering SMK Negeri 1 Simpang Kanan in the second semester academic years 2015/2016.Key words: Mathematics learning outcome, Cooperative learning, Pair Check.
