Abstract

The influence of echo train length (ETL) toward image quality of sagital lumbal on MRI using T2-weighted FSE was analyzed on 20 images from four patients. Quantitative data analysis was performed using ROI two methods: image processing method on MRI?s computer and using matlab software, then conducted the statistical test. The result of SNR from these two methods obtained the highest value of SNR at CSF tissue and the highest value of CNR at CSF-corpus tissue and CSF-medulla spinalis with ETL=16. From statistical test of SNR result directly from MRI?s computer image was obtained the significant value at corpus tissue = 0.603, CSF = 0.082, and Fat = 0.213 (P > 0,05), discus = 0.022, Medulla Spinalis (MS) = 0.010 (P < 0.05), and for CNR result of CSF-corpus tissue has significant value = 0,023, corpus-MS = 0.011 (P < 0.05). By using matlab programming method obtained significant SNR result at corpus tissue = 0.000, CSF = 0,000, Fat = 0,000, discus = 0,000, Medulla spinalis = 0,000 (P < 0,05), and for the CNR result of Dicus-corpus tissue has significant value = 0.044, Dicus-MS= 0.045 (P , 0.05). These results pointed out that ETL and T2 weighted influence the Image quality of MRI, which are the image contrast at FSE and software ability of matlab to analyze the image quality of MRI. SNR and contrast are important aspect in the process of image optimization, the higher SNR value provide the better image in giving diagnose information. Abstract

Elements of sodium (Na), potassium (K) and calcium (Ca) in beverage samples and river water were analyzed with portable liquid electrode plasma - optical emission spectrometer (LEP-OES). The degree of reproducibility for emission intensities and individual variety of a disposal sample chip were investigated, and measuring conditions for quantitative analysis and the precision was discussed. The sensitivity for Na was higher than those for K and Ca by one or two orders of magnitude. Several ppm of Na and K, and several hundred of Ca in aqueous samples could be quantitatively analyzed with 2-30% of deviation without internal standard. The applied voltage was predominant factor for accurate quantitative analysis, and 800 V was found to be the best voltage estimation for quantitative analysis of alkaline metals contents.

Abstract

Research on the analysis of the effect of filter type variation and thickness on mobile X-ray machine against ESE value of head examination. The use of filters aims to eliminate the low-energy X-ray beam so as to minimize the dose. The experiment was conducted to determine the ESE value and the thickness of the beak (HVL) on the combination of type and thickness of the filter. Combination filter used was aluminum (Al) with copper (Cu), aluminum with zinc (Zn), aluminum with galvalum (AlZnSi), aluminum (Al)), copper (Cu) with galvalum (AlZnSi), copper (Cu) with zinc (Zn), stainless steel (SS) with galvalum (AlZnSi) and stainless steel (SS) with zinc (Zn) ). With variation of 70, 81 and 90 kV fixed-time line voltages 20 mAs, 100 cm SSD, and 10 x 10 cm irradiation field measured tube voltage and ESE with combination of type and thickness of the filter. The results showed that ESE value with head examination exposure factor using combination of 1-1,5 mm filter Al with Zn, and combination of 1.5 mm  filter Al with galvalum was at tolerance 0,348 - 0,522 mGy. While the exposure factor with combination of filter, Cu with Zn, Cu with galvalum, Cu with Al, SS with Al, SS with Zn and SS with galvalum with thickness of filter combination 1-2 mm under tolerance limit. So that can be used alternative materials other than filter Al can use combination of  filter SS with AlZnSi. Half-Value Layer (HVL) exposure factor 90 kV with an filter Al with galvalum, we can use a 0.52 mm filter on a 0.71 mm filter Al with Zn. Keywords: x-ray machine, ESE, filter, HVL

Abstract

CT Number valuehad been conducted with various of exposurefactoronCT. Testingwas conducted to test the CTNumber value changeswith varioues of exposure factorsthencompare it withthe recommendedtolerance. Testing was doneby usingsome objectthere arewater phantom, plasticwaterphantom, chickenblood, chicken (breast part) andchickenbone(thigh). Performedwithtwoscanning, axialandhelicalscanning methods. Various of exposurefactors used the voltage 80 kVp to 140kVp, current100 mA  to 180mAandexposure time0.6 second to 2second. Collimatorwith alargeselection and slice thickness 5mm.            From the test resultshave known thatchangesof the exposurefactorswill affectedCTNumber value. Abstract

Sucrose concentration of honey solution has been analized by using Portable Brix Meter to determine its refractive index using Abbe refractometer. The materials used are honey randu solution, honey pollen, honey flora, honey klengkeng, honey karet, honey rambutan, white honey royal jelly, and honey kapuk with a concentration of 10 % until 50 %. The meansurement of sucrose concentration was performed by droping a few of sample solution above the sample table in this equipment. The content of sucrose is displayed digitally with units brix (%).    The concentration of sucrose solution proportional to the refractive index. The increase of concentration of sucrose solution will increase the refractive index. Correlation between the concentration of sucrose solution with refractive index by the equation n = 0,001C + 1,334 (R2 = 0,9972), n = 0,001C + 1,354 (R2 = 0,9919), n = 0,0015C +1,334 (R2 = 0,9999), n = 0,002C + 1,333 (R2 = 0,9817), n = 0,0015C + 1,334 (R2 = 0,9819), n = 0,002C + 1,328 (R2 = 0,9969), n = 0,002C + 1,329 (R2 = 0,9936), n = 0,002C + 1,322 (R2 = 0,9830). Abstract

Environmental transport models have been developed for evaluation of radiation doses from tritium released into the atmosphere. Recently, models contain not only inhalation and skin absorption as routes of tritium transfer from the atmosphere to humans, but also the ingestion pathway. Tritium releasing to the environment is contribute to added tritium concentration in the ocean. This paper describes the tritium transfer from the environment to the human body and the possible health effects if it is taken inside the body, the factors which influence the differences of tritium concentrations in the coastal seawater, and the formula of the tritium concentration balance in the ocean surface.

Abstract

Measurement of concentration of sucrose (C12H22O11) solution using Portable Brix Meter was analized to determine its refractive index using Abbe refractometer. The materials used are sucrose solution with a concentration of 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 35% and 40%, and samples fruits of pear, watermelon, orange, apple and melon and others. The concentration of sucrose solution is proportional to the refractive index. The increase of concentration of sucrose solution will increase the refractive index. Correlation between the concentration of sucrose solution with refractive index is expressed by the equation Refractive index of sucrose solution can be determined from its concentration. Abstract

Synthesis of zinc oxide nanoparticles, iron oxide nanoparticles and Zn-Fe nanoparticles using pulse laser ablation method has been conducted. Experimentally, a pulse Nd:YAG laser (1064 nm, 7 ns, 35 mJ) was directed and focused on a metal plates of pure Zn and Fe, which are placed in the liquid medium of polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP). The PVP functions as a stabilizer agent. The results show that the produced nanoparticles have a spherical shape with an averaged diameter of Zn-Fe nanoparticles of 13 nm. FTIR and XRD test results of Zn-Fe nanoparticles show characteristics of Zn-Fe compounds. The examination of Zn-Fe nanoparticles as MRI contrast agents was carried out by varying the concentration of nanoparticles. Cenh calculation results showed the highest contrast enhancement occurred at a concentration of 1.25 mM with a value of 64.26% for T1 weighted images, and 81.52% for T2 weighted images. The SNR calculation results show the highest value at a concentration of 1.25 mM of 70.52 for T1 weighted images. The highest SNR value in the T2 weighted image at a concentration of 0.156 mM of 165.09.

Abstract

Abstrak Telah berhasil dibuat sistem pengolah air bersih menggunakan material fotokatalis titania (TiO2). Sistem pengolah air bersih yang terdiri dari 2 pompa yang bertujuan untuk mengalirkan air kotor ke bak penampungan pertama, dan pompa kedua untuk mensirkulasikan air yang telah melewati biofilter untuk diolah melalui reaktor foto katalis TiO2 yang diaktifasi dengan menggunakan lampu UV sebanyak 2 buah masing-masing dengan daya 10 W. Lapisan tipis TiO2 dideposisi di atas substrat gelas dengan metode sol-gel teknik spray coating. Titanium Tetraisopropoxide 0,5 M dilarutkan ke dalam Diethylene Glycol dengan perbandingan mol DEG: (Ti(OC3H7)4 adalah 4:1 lalu diaduk dengan magnetic stirrer pada laju putar sebesar 1500 rpm selama 2 jam. Gel TiO2 hasil sintesis kemudian dimasukan ke dalam tabung spray-coater dan diberi tekanan Sebelum disemprot, substrat gelas dipanaskan pada temperatur 70oC untuk meningkatkan daya ikat antara larutan dengan substrat. Lapisan hasil penyemprotan selanjutnya di oven pada temperatur 200oC selama 30 menit dan sintering pada temperatur 450oC selama 2,5 jam. Hasil pengujian struktur kristal dengan x-ray diffractometer (XRD) menunjukkan bahwa semakin banyak pelapisan yang dilakukan menyebabkan kualitas kristal dari lapisan tipis TiO2 meningkat. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan semakin menurunnya nilai FWHM. Selain itu, semakin banyaknya pelapisan yang dilakukan menyebabkan ukuran kristalit dari lapisan tipis TiO2 meningkat. Citra SEM lapisan tipis TiO2 menunjukkan bahwa semakin besar molaritas prekursor TiO2 menyebabkan kuantitas keretakan pada permukaan semakin menurun. Hasil pengujian BOD dan COD dari sistem pengolah air bersih menunjukkan bahwa sistem yang dibuat telah mampu mereduksi kandungan BOD hingga 5,76 mg/L dan COD hingga 25,22 mg/L.
