Abstract

The components of patchouli oil consist of mayor e.g patchouli alcohol and minor component such as patchoulene, α-guaiene, syechellen, and caryophyllene. These compounds are potentially as repellent or attractant against insects. The purpose of this research is to determine the activity of the Culex sp mosquito repellency using patchouli oil in silico and in vitro. Assessment of in silico modeling is through based on interactions of terpenoid  the Culex sp mosquito olfactory receptor structure was downloaded from www.pdb.org with access code 3OGN while the ligand structure downloaded from www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov. The modeling by using Autodock Tools 1.5.4 docking of the ligands were done in consecutive performing of α-guaine, α-patchoulen, vellence, caryophyllene, and syechellen respectively. In comparing with commercial repellent DEET, the patchouli oil component with minus patchouli alcohol have more potent as repellent with Kd = 330 µM, while Kd of DEET is 7,31 µM. Patchouli oil components have potential as a repellent better than DEET, it is indicated from Kd values greater than Kd DEET.  By in vitro experiment, patchouli oil showed repellency at EC50 = 6,19 ± 0,55 ppm. Abstract

Potensi eugenol dan sitronelal sebagai pestisida nabati dikaji melalui pemodelan secara in silico. Interaksi antara ligan eugenol dan sitronelal sebagai bioaktif dengan mitrokondria Helopeltis antonii sebagai reseptor, dikaji   dengan   menggunakan   perangkat   lunak   Autodock   Tools dan Autodock Vina. Hasil kajian in silico menunjukkan bahwa dengan metode multiple docking menggunakan Autodock Tools diperoleh nilai inhibisi (ki) campuran eugenol – sitronelal sebesar 4,20 mM dan nilai energi ikat bebas (∆G) sebesar -3,24 kkal/mol. Sedangkan hasil validasi menggunakan Autodock Vina menunjukkan bahwa interaksi antara eugenol – sitronelal memiliki nilai afinitas energi ikat bebas (∆Gaff) sebesar -4,8 kkal/mol dan nilai inhibisi (ki) sebesar 3,300 mM.Kata kunci: eugenol, sitronelal, cytochrome c oxidase, docking

Abstract

AbstractPollard and tofu waste as main component of food for Fruit fly (Bactrocera carambolae) gave better nutrition to support their growth and development than tapioca waste. Pollard, tofu waste and tapioca waste contributed to finish fruit fly life cycles 16, 47, 17, 83 and 18.77 days respectively. Oviposition period of fruit fly on pollard was longer than others. Total number of eggs was laid by fruit fly on pollard about twice to three times higher than others. In addition, longest period of male and female adults was shown by pollard. Net reproduction rate (Ro), mean of life span period (T), intrinsic rate of increase (rm), rate of limit rate of increase (λ) and reproduction value (RVx) shown by life table explained that pollard was suitable material for rearing of B. carambolae as diet.Keywords: artificial diet, B. carambolae, pollard, tofu waste, tapioca waste

Abstract

Sonokembang (Pterocarpus indicus Willd.) is commonly planted as an ornamental tree in Batu city, East Java. In 2012 and 2013, there were some dying trees of sonokembang along the road of Batu city, and there were some indications that the signs and symptoms might be related to the ambrosia beetle samples from Batu. To clarify the precise condition, identification of beetle samples was needed in this research. Based on survey and  sample collections conducted in Batu from the early July 2013 to the end of March 2014, characteristic of damage on trees was observed together with the presence of beetle collected. Identification was based on morphological characters such as posterior elytral declivities and body size of male, and mycangia on female`s pronotum. Based on the morphological characters, there were some special characters which described such as 1) the body size of female adult was bigger than male adult, 2) elytral declivities on male adult was unique, and 3) there was mycangia on pronotum of female adults. Morphological char-acters showed that the ambrosia beetle attacked on sonokembang belonged to Treptoplatypus mi-crurus Schedl. This ambrosia beetle species seems to be the responsible agent that caused dying trees of sonokembang.

Abstract

Biology of D. longicaudata, larval parasitoid of Bactrocera carambolae (Drew & Hancock) fruit fly was studied in the laboratory. Observation on ten pairs of adults, each pair confined in a laboratory cage, provided with third instar larvae of B. carambolae as their host, showed that the wasps mated 6-14 days after they emerged. They mated 2-5 times in their life time. Female wasps laid eggs until 18 days old, 1-6 eggs per day, with the average number of 58 eggs. Unmated female was able to lay viable eggs (parthenogenesis) that grew to male parasitoids (arrenotoky). The life cycle of D. longicaudata extended within 16 - 22 days. The eggs hatched 1-2 days after oviposition. Duration of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th instar larvae and the pupal stage were 1-2 days, 2-3 days, 3-4 days, 4-6 days and 4-5 days, respectively. First instar larvae was an active life stage, living in the third instar larvae of the host, while the following 2nd - 4th instar were inactive, living in the upae of the host. Adult parasitoid emerged from the puparium of host. In general, male wasp emerged 2-5 days earlier than the female.

Abstract

 Penyakit puru akar pada tanaman kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus L.) yang disebabkan oleh nematoda Meloidogyne spp. mengakibatkan penurunan kualitas dan kuantitas serat. Kolonisasi rizobakteri dalam rizosfer berperan sebagai antagonis yang dapat dimanfaatkan dalam ketahanan tanaman terhadap patogen.  Peran rizobakteri sebagai bioprotektan dapat menurunkan populasi nematoda yang akan mempengaruhi perkembangan patogen penyebab penyakit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi rizobakteri yang potensial dalam meningkatkan ketahanan tanaman kenaf terhadap infeksi nematoda Meloidogyne spp. melalui pembentukan metabolit sekunder diantaranya kandungan total fenol dan asam salisilat. Aplikasi rizobakteri dengan cara perendaman dan tanpa perendaman baik secara tunggal maupun konsorsium.  Rizobakteri yang digunakan terdiri dari 3 jenis yaitu Pseudomonas fluorescens, Bacillus subtilis, dan Azotobacter sp. Pengamatan kandungan total fenol dan asam salisilat diamati pada 15 dan 25 hari setelah inokulasi dengan menggunakan alat spektrofotometer. Peningkatan total fenol dan asam salisilat tertinggi diperoleh ketika benih kenaf direndam dengan bakteri P. fluorescens berturut-turut sebesar 513,45% dan 235,99%. Terdapat peningkatan bobot kering tanaman kenaf dengan aplikasi rizobakteri dibandingkan dengan kontrol. Effect of Rhizobacteria  in Content  of Salicylic Acid and Total Phenol of Kenaf Against Nematodes Infections Root knoot disease of kenaf caused by nematodes Meloidogyne spp. is an important disease since it lowers quality and quantity of the fiber. Colonization of rhizobacteria in rhizosphere acts as an antagonist that can be utilized in plant resistance to pathogens. The role of rhizobacteria as a bioprotectan could reduce nematode population, and thus affect development of the disease. This study aimed to evaluate the potency of rhizobacteria in improving kenaf resistance against root knot nematode by inhibiting the production of total phenols and salicylic acid. Application of rhizobacteria was done by soaking or without soaking kenaf seeds either singly or in consortium. There were three rhizobacteria used in this study, i.e: Pseudomonas fluorescens, Bacillus subtilis, and Azotobacter sp. The content of total phenols and salicylic acid was observed at 15 and 25 days after inoculation using a spectrophotometer. The highest elevation level of total phenols and salicylic acid was obtained when kenaf seeds were soaked in P. fluorescens 513,45% and 235,99% respectively. There is an increase dry weight of kenaf with aplication of rhizobacteria compared with controls.

Abstract

AbstractThis study was conducted to examine the effect of Beauveria bassiana and insect growth regulator lufenuron on the fecundity and reproductivity decline of fruit fly B. carambolae adults. The study was conducted at the Laboratory of Entomology, Department of Plant Pests and Diseases, Facultyof Agriculture, University of Brawijaya from March 2012 until December 2012. The density of B. bassiana spores used in this study was 108 spores/ml and the lufenuron concentrations used are 0.5, 1, and 1.5 ml/l. The results showed that the application of B. bassiana spores at density of 108 spores/ml combined with lufenuron at the concentration of 1.5 ml/l significantly reduced the fecundity, egg fertility and reproduction of B. carambolae up to 95.69%.Keywords: Beauveria bassiana, Bactrocera carambolae, Lufenuron.

Abstract

Effect of Natural Habitat on Diversity of Hemipteran Predator in Oil Palm Plantation. Utillization of natural enemies in controlling oil palm pests still encounters obstacles, in particular, how natural enemies can survive and establish in oil palm plantations. The existence of natural habitats around oil palm plantations can allegedly support the occurence of natural enemies. The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of the presence of natural habitats on diversity of hemipteran predators in oil palm plantations. Field research was conducted in oil palm plantations located in Pangkalan Bun, Central Kalimantan. The plots were oil palm plantations with different distances from natural habitat i.e. near (less than 200 m), medium (about 2 km) and far (about 5 km). Each plot was selected six trees for fogging using insecticide with active ingredient lamda cyhalothrin. Based on research result, diversity of hemipteran predator in oil palm plantion was found 19 species belong to 2 families. The most dominant hemipteran predator was Sycanus sp., Eocanthecona sp. and Reduviidae sp5. The distance of oil palm plantation from natural habitat did not affect species richness, abundance and composition as well as recolonization of hemipteran predator in oil palm plantation. Abundance of hemipteran predator tend to decrease in different observation time, except Sycanus sp. Sycanus sp was likely has ability to rapidly recolonized and their occurrence were influenced by flowering vegetation in oil palm plantation.

Abstract

Desa Pagung adalah salah satu dari 12 desa yang terdapat di Kecamatan Semen, Kabupaten Kediriyang mempunyai populasi 53.092 jiwa . Sebagaimana lahan pertanian yang didominasi lahan sawah, tanaman utama di Kabupaten Kediri adalah padi sawah. Sampai dengan tahun 2017, produksi beras di Kabupaten Kediri tetap terjaga, malahan bila dibanding dengan konsumsi yang rata-rata 75,38 kg/kapita/tahun, produksi beras tetap surplus (Dinas Pertanian dan Perkebunan, 2017). Berdasarkan kegiatan doktor mengabdi yang telah dilaksanakan selama 4 bulan di Desa Pagung, Kecamatan Semen, Kabupaten Kediri.Kegiatan budidaya yang telah dilakukan oleh petani sudah sesuai dengan perinsip pertaanian organik yang telah ada, namun ada beberapa kegiatan yang tidak sama dengan perinsip pertanian organik yang tepat dan benar.Kata Kunci: Padi, Organik, Kontinyuitas

Abstract

Pada 2018 jumlah pengguna internet telah mencapai angka 171,17 juta jiwa diseluruh Indonesia yang setara dengan 64,8% dari total keseluruhan penduduk Indonesia yang berjumlah 264,16 juta jiwa, menurut riset Google yang dilaporkan oleh e-Conomy SEA pada tahun 2018 angka transaksi ekonomi digital Indonesia ditetapkan sebagai peringkat pertama di kawasan Asia Tenggara dengan kontribusi 49%. Perancangan sistem e-marketplace yang ditujukan untuk mengenalkan ciri khas dari produk betawi di Jakarta merupakan hal yang baik, sebab saat ini produk khas betawi tergolong sangat sulit ditemukan di Jakarta. Metode yang digunakan untuk perancangan sistem yaitu Rational Unified Process atau yang biasa disingkat dengan RUP memiliki 4 fase yang terdiri dari: inception, elaboration, contruction, transition. UML (Unified Modeling Language) digunakan pada tahap analisis dan perancangan guna mempermudah pemahaman atas sistem yang dibangun, kemudian tahap pengujian dilakukan dengan menggunakan blackbox testing. Kata Kunci: e-marketplace, codeigniter, rational unified process, sistem informasi, unified modeling language.
