Abstract

The Subang district is located in the north coast of Java Island. One of its economic sources is fisheries. Fifty percent of its production comes from sea. Women  have multiple roles in fisheries activities, such as trader, fish-processor, and financial administrator, but their roles are not documented. This research is aimed (1) to analyze whether the Subang District coastal-fisheries activities have been gender responsive, and (2) to make a coastal-fisheries action plans which is gender resporuive. The data analyses using Gender Analysis Pathway (GAP) and Moser Analysis. The results of  research show that (1) coastal-fisheries activities of Subang District have not yet gender  responsive, and (2) the action plans consist of capacity building, increasing education level, fostering community participaticm, improving local-based fisheries technology, and increasing employment opportunity.Key words: coastal-fisheries activities, gender, small-scale fishermen,

Abstract

Abstract: Birth certificate is a basic civil right that should be granted to every citizen. Dinas Kependudukan dan Pencatatan Sipil (Disdukcapil) as a birth certificate registration organizers seek to provide excellent service with attention to people’s satisfaction. This study aim to analyse the commitment of Disdukcapil in the service of registration of birth certificate, analyse the level of public satisfaction about Disdukcapil’s public service, and formulate a strategy to improve the quality of service. The research method is descriptive analysis. The data used are primary and secondary derived from observations, interviews, and questionnaires. Internal officer’s perceptions were analyzed using the test of customer service and customer-focused test characteristics. Customers’s perceptions were analyzed using SERVQUAL method, Importance Performance Analysis, and Customer Satisfaction Index. The results show that Disdukcapil structural officers have had community-oriented in the implementation of public service. Characteristics that stand out in the application of quality management is readiness to find and eliminate the problems of the people on birth certificate registration. Servqual analysis results show that acceptable performance is still below people’s expectations so that the gap is negative. Importance-performance analysis show that the attributes need immediate attention is the service support materials, attitude immediately provide service and a helpful attitude when busy. Overall community satisfaction index had reached Satisfied level.   Keywords: public service, customer satisfaction, service quality dimension

Abstract

The objective of the study was to find out the motivation, job satisfaction and job productivity of Agriculture Extension Workers (AEW). Respondent of the study was 36 AEW at Sukabumi district, West Java. The results of study have shown that most extension agents are male, relatively old, married and having more than three children. Most of them have had diploma program, participated in several trainings, 20 years of working experience, and belonging to third rank employee. Internal factors of AEW (achievement, recognition, job and responsibility are the internal factors performed significance factors. The motivation of agriculture extension agents has influenced by intrinsic and extrinsic factors; Job satisfaction influenced by psychology, and social, while physical and financial factors have no influence; Job productivity influenced by internal (achievement, recognition, job, responsibility) and external factors (FEW status, interpersonal relation) education background and capacity building, skill, technology, working environment, and discipline. All internal factors, achievement-recognition-work-responsibility has siginificance influence to extension workers productive works.

Abstract

Public service is one form of the state apparatus functions as a public servant as well as aservant of the state. Seeing an increasingly competitive business world today, the company thatprovide public service need to change their customer services into a profit center. The quality ofservice provides an important link between the company and customers, also can help to push thecompany to achieve their goals and give positive image. Company's image depends on how thecompany give their services to the customer. Companies are required to constantly monitor publicperceptions or opinions about the company, through its institutional functions of Public Relation (PR).The purpose of this research is to analyze the customer's perception of the quality of public services atPLN UPJ Bekasi Kota, and the relationship between the internal and external factors with thecustomer's perception of public services at PLN UPJ Bekasi Kota. The results of this research showthe customer?s perception on the quality of public services at PLN UPJ Bekasi Kota is good with theaverage score equal to 3.86. Correlation test showed that there are five significant correlation, whichis the relationship between education level and assurance, education level and responsiveness,education level and tangibles, income level and tangibles, and the frequency of respondents callingand responsiveness.Keywords: Public Service, Quality of Service, PLN

Abstract

The Sustainability of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy among the firms within Indomobil Group have difference performance from stakeholders view.  PT Suzuki Indomobil Motor (PT SIM) have some sector that should be priority to be done like opportunity to work in PT SIM for local community and social disintegration between local community and PT SIM worker.  For PT Nissan Motors Indonesia (PT NMI) and PT Hino Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (PT HMMI) the sector that should be priority are impact of company existence to increasing of prices of goods and services for local community consumption, planting tree activity, increasing amount of small economic and financial institution.  The policy of CSR should be improvement CSR performance with keep increasing of business growth simultaneous.  The management of CSR activity of Indomobil Group have important role to support company performance as good corporate citizenship in area where company operated especially in factory location.  Positioning of company in stakeholders view is basic step to choose the kind of CSR policy.  To get sustainable CSR especially in automotive industry company should do mapping stakeholders needs and expectation that result priority of atributes.   Key words: CSR, sustainability,stakeholders, company

Abstract

Siri Marriage (unofficial marriage) is not a new phenomenon in Indonesia with its all negative impacts. However, in Warurejo village, siri marriage is accepted widely by society particularl actors and siri marriage network.  Siri marriage is a legal activity based on Islam if corresponding with legal requirements of marriag. Location of the research is conducted in  Warurejo village, East Java through qualitative, quantitative and semantics approaches. The result of research shows that siri marriage in Warurejo has been long standing and hereditary since Madura ethnic migrates to Warurejo. Siri marriage initially occurs among migrants, gradually changing and leading to commercialization. Warurejo people cannot predict the exact time when the commercialization of siri marriage applied in Warurejo village, but surely after commercialization occurs, there is a workplace for brokers and clerics. Economy needs sometimes cause the actors ignoring the negative impacts as a result of siri marriage, such as domestic violence, child custody, inheritance, etc. If there is a divorce, it is only delivered by brokers or short messages through mobile phone. Nikah siri bukanlah fenomena baru di Indonesia dengan segala dampak negatifnya. Namun, di Desa Warurejo nikah siri diterima secara luas oleh masyarakat, terutama aktor dan   jaringan nikah siri. Nikah siri merupakan tindakan yang sah menurut agama Islam sepanjang sesuai syarat sahnya pernikahan. Lokasi penelitian di lakukan di desa Warurejo Jawa Timur.dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, kuantitatif dan semantik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nikah siri di Warurejo sudah berlangsung lama dan turun temurun. Sejak etnis Madura melakukan migrasi ke Warurejo. Nikah siri yang awalnya terjadi hanya sesama migran, lambat laun mengalami perubahan dan mengarah ke komersilisasi. Masyarakat Warurejo tidak bisa memperkirakan sejak kapan komersilisasi nikah siri mulai berlaku di Desa Warurejo, namun yang pasti sejak adanya komersilisasi maka sejak itu pula mulai memunculkan  lahan pekerjaan baru bagi para broker dan kyai/modin. Kebutuhan terhadap ekonomi  menyebabkan pelaku terkadang mengabaikan fungsi negatif yang diakibatkan oleh nikah siri, misalnya adanya kekerasan  dalam rumah tangga,  hak asuh anak, waris, dan lain-lain. Jika terjadi perceraian, maka perceraian itu hanya disampaikan melalui broker atau pesan pendek melalui telepon seluler.

Abstract

Rawa Pening is an ecological system which plays an important social role for surrounding residents. Human activities which exploited it initiate crisis of fishery natural resources. Rawa Pening management could not ignore involvement of stakeholders if it is expected to be sustained. However, existing imbalance distribution of role among stakeholders, namely government and community directly depended on Rawa Pening has directed to unresolved conflicting situation and degradation of the resource. This research is intended to formulate strategic policy in managing lake based on co-management. Co-management sample determinated by purposive sampling method in four villages around Rawa Pening Lake. Analisys of the data includes stakeholders analysis, interpretative structural modelling, and co-management analysis. The research results confirm that community directly depended on the resource is the key stakeholders although they have insignificant influence on policy development and management. Co-management institution for managing the lake can be developed in order to empower community and enhance their role in managing lake’s resources. Key words: lake, stakeholders, co-management

Abstract

This paper aims to discuss the impact of state intervention on social capital of fishermen community in small islands. The research was conducted in Barrang Lompo Island, Makassar. The data was collected through in-depth interview and limited observation from twelve informants determined by snowball sampling. Questionnaires were also spread to about 40 respondents. The data was then analyzed qualitatively to explain researchs data and facts. The results of the research show that state intervention for the last ten years on small islands communities has impact on various aspects such as the diminishing loyalty and trust among locals to the government. Therefore, the intervention reduce the communitys participation, individually and collectively, in development activities. The situation, in turn, could affect the diminishing political capacity of the locals and government in the implementation of development in the islands. The state intervention, however, strengthened social solidarity, local value practices and the enthusiasm to understand religious values which in turn could tighten the internal bond of a community. This bond can become a potential strength to build communities in small islands.Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mendiskusikan dampak intervensi negara pada kapital sosial komunitas nelayan di pulau-pulau kecil. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Pulau Barrang Lompo, Makassar. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam dan observasi terbatas dari dua belas informan ditentukan oleh snowball sampling. Kuesioner juga menyebar ke 40 responden. Data tersebut kemudian dianalisis secara kualitatif untuk menjelaskan data penelitian dan fakta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa intervensi negara selama sepuluh tahun terakhir pada masyarakat pulau-pulau kecil memiliki dampak pada berbagai aspek seperti, mengurangi loyalitas dan kepercayaan di antara penduduk setempat kepada pemerintah. Oleh karena itu, partisipasi mereka, secara individu dan kolektif, dalam kegiatan pembangunan kurang. Ini akan berakibat pada berkurangnya kapasitas politik penduduk setempat dan kapasitas pemerintah dalam pelaksanaan pembangunan pulau. Kendati demikian intervensi negara juga memperkuat solidaritas sosial, praktek nilai lokal dan semangat untuk memahami nilai-nilai agama yang pada gilirannya dapat memperkuat ikatan internal masyarakat. Ikatan ini selanjutnya dapat menjadi kekuatan potensial untuk membangun masyarakat di pulau-pulau kecil.

Abstract

Usaha di bidang perikanan menghadapi berbagai kendala, sehingga untuk menjaga keberlangsungan usahanya, menuntut KNM Fish Farm yang merupakan usaha keluarga yang bergerak di bidang budidaya perikanan air tawar agar meningkatkan kinerja dengan cara memperbaiki model bisnis yang selama ini digunakan dalam menjalankan bisnisnya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: (1) Mengidentifikasi model bisnis di KNM Fish Farm menggunakan BMC, (2) Menciptakan model bisnis perbaikan pada KNM Fish Farm. Data dikumpulkan dari Desember 2013 hingga Februari 2014 dan menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus pada KNM Fish Farm. Alat analisis yang digunakan yaitu Business Model Canvas (BMC) dan Analisis SWOT. Penelitian ini difokuskanuntuk membuat model bisnis baru dengan pendekatan Business Model Canvas (BMC) yang melihat perusahaan melalui sembilan elemen, yaitu: (1) Customer segmentations, (2) Value Propositions, (3) Channels, (4) Customer relationship, (5) Revenue streams, (6) Key Resources, (7) Key Activities, (8) Key Partnerships, dan ( 9) Cost Structure. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa model bisnis yangselama ini dilakukan oleh KNM Fish Farm ditemukan kelemahan pada ke-9 elemen BMC, oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan perbaikan pada semua elemen.

Abstract

. Community empowerment is one of the keys to success in running development of a region. The empowerment program carried out with models, shapes and different strategies. The purpose of this study was to analyze (1) The perception of the implementation of communication channels and approaches to communications made in the CSR program company. (2) The influence of the characteristics of the beneficiaries, and the communication channel communication approach CSR program the company towards community empowerment. The samples used in this study were 410 respondents. This study is designed as a quantitative research boosted by the approach of a qualitative study using descriptive analysis and structural equation modeling (SEM). The results of this study include: (1) Perception of beneficiaries for variables communication channels, communication approach and community empowerment approach is generally considered good. (2) The variables that affect the community empowerment are approach communication and communication channels, while the characteristics of the beneficiaries had no significant effect.
