Abstract

ABSTRACT   The Relationship between Fraction of Fruit Maturity and Height of  Fruit Bunches to the Number of Oil Palm Fruit at Harvesting Oil Palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) in Palm Plantation Rambutan PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III. This research was conducted in Palm Plantation Rambutan PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III, Serdang Bedagai District North Sumatra Province from December 2014 until February 2015 using Split Plot Design (SPD) factorial, the main plot is palm bunches height (6, 8 and 10 m) and the subplot is the fraction of oil palm bunches maturity (fraction 1, 2, 3 and 4). The parameters observed were the number of palm fruit that falls from the bunches, free fatty acids and percentages by weight of palm fruit the falls from the bunches with weight of bunches harvested. The results showed that the higher fraction of maturity, significantly increased the number of palm fruit that falls from the bunches, free fatty acids and percentages by weight palm fruit bunches with the fall of the bunches after harvest. The higher harvesting bunches, significantly increased the number of palm fruit that falls from the bunches, free fatty acids and percentages by weight palm fruit bunches with the fall of the bunches after harvest. The interaction between fraction of maturity and height of fruit bunches significantly effected on all parameters observed. Key words :  fall from the palm fruit bunches, harvest, palm

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan bibit kopi pada media tanam kompos kulit biji kopi dan pemberian pupuk NPK (15:15:15). Penelitian ini dilakukan di rumah kaca Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan (42 m dpl) pada bulan September 2014 sampai November 2014.               Metode percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial dengan 2 faktor perlakuan yaitu media tanam kompos kulit biji kopi (0, 25, 50, 75 % Kompos) dan pupuk NPK (0; 0,25; 0,5; 0,75; 1 g/polibag). Parameter yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, total luas daun, bobot basah tajuk, bobot kering tajuk, panjang akar, bobot basah akar, dan bobot kering akar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan media tanam kompos kulit biji kopi berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap semua parameter. Perlakuan pemberian pupuk NPK berpengaruh nyata pada diameter batang, tetapi berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap parameter lain. Interaksi antara kedua perlakuan berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap semua parameter. Kata Kunci : bibit kopi, kompos kulit biji kopi, NPK, pertumbuhan

Abstract

One of determining factors of water supply for rubber plants are rain fall and rain day. Water supply for rubber in field is obtained from rainfall. The amount of water that doesn?t consistent give negative impact to the productivity of rubber. This research was to determine the effect of rainfall and rain day as well as the correlation of both on rubber production in plants 7, 10 and 13 years aged. This research is done in Sei Baleh Estate PT. Bakrie Sumatera Plantations, Tbk. from January to March 2016. Primary data for the purposes of data analysis includes latex production in 2012, 2013, and 2014; rainfall data and rain day monthly in 2011, 2012, and 2013. Analysis method used are double linier regression and correlation analysis. Model tested by classic asumption consists of normality test, heteroskedasticity test, multicollinearity, and autocorellations test by using statistic software SPSS.v.17 for windows. The regression analysis shows that rainfall and rain day variables don?t have significant influence to increased latex production of rubber plants 7, 10 and 13 years aged. Rainfall and rain day affect latex production 19,1%; 9,3%; 28,6% of rubber plants 7, 10 and 13 years aged. The correlation result in plants aged 7 and 10 years showed variable rainfall and rain day have a strong relationship (0,921 and 0,901)  against the latex production, meanwhile in plants aged 13 years have a sufficient relationship (0,776).

Abstract

Massive breeding is often the case with the availability of the amount of water that can be stored on the media. The aim of this research is to know the influence of media and frequency of watering to the growth of cacao seedlings and to find the best media and optimum watering frequency. This experiment was conducted at Agricultural Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sumatera Utara, Medan (32 m asl) from Juneuntil September 2017. The researchal method used was Factorial Randomized Block Design with two treatment factors. The first factor is  growing media with four type, M0 (topsoil) , M1 (topsoil: sand 2: 1), M2 (topsoil: rice husk 2: 1), and M3 (topsoil: rice husks charcoal 2: 1) and watering frequency: watered 1 (one) a day, watered every 4 (four) days , watered every 7 (seven) days, watered every10 (ten) days. The observed parameters were plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, total leaf area, fresh shot weight, fresh root weight, shoot dry weight, dry root weight and root shoot ratio.The results showed that planting media treatment had significantly effect to plant height, number of leaves, fresh root weight, shoot dry weight and root dry weight. The best planting media treatment was found on topsoil (M0). Treatment of watering frequency did not significantly affect all observed variables. The interaction between the two treatments had a significantly effect on fresh root weight. Keywords: growing media, frequency of watering, cocoa.

Abstract

The research was conducted at experimental field of Tanjung Jati estate Binjai PTPN II (± 50 m asl) in August 2014 - January 2015 using a randomized block design with two factors, the first factor was plant spacing (33 cm, 40 cm, 47 cm) with center to center distance (CCD) was 135 cm and the second factor was dose of nitrogen fertilizer (45, 90, 135, 180 kg N / ha). The observation variables measured were plant height, stem diameter, number of leave, number of tilles, number of segment, leaf area, shoot dry weight, root dry weight.The results showed that the treatment plant spacing gave significant effec to  stem diameter, the number of tiller, number of segments, and leaf area. the treatment of dose of nitrogen fertilizer gave significant effect to the stem diameter, number of tiller and leaf area. Interaction treatment only significantly effected for steam diameter 1  MAP and the number of section 5 MAP. The research shows that the best plant spacing was 47 cm x 135 cm and dose of nitrogen fertilizer was 90 kgN/ha increase growth bud chip sugarcane.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui kualitas bahan bakar HFO yang digunakan PLTD Tallasa Takalar, apakah sudah sesuai standar yang diajurkan. Penelitian juga bertujuan untuk mengetahui daya dan efisiensi mesin PLTD Tallasa Takalar. Dari penelitian bahan bakar HFO yang digunakan PLTD Tallasa Takalar tidak sesuai yang dianjurkan karena kandungan air telah melampaui batas yang diijinkan, sehingga dapat mempengaruhi kinerja mesin. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian daya yang dihasilkan mesin New Sulzer 16ZA40S pada PLTD Tallasa Takalar mengalami penurunan yaitu 7 sampai 8 MW, dimana dispesifikasi mesin New Sulzer 16ZA40S tercantum daya yang dihasilkan sebesar 11 MW. Sedangkan Efisiensi Thermal pada New Sulzer 16ZA40S yaitu sebesar 58,2 %.
