Abstract

This paper presents, the development of smart online partial discharge (PD) monitoring system for medium voltage (MV) underground power cable. PD monitoring is the highly efficient tool to monitor insulation degradation for high voltage (HV) equipment in order to avoid failures or breakdown. Selection of improved technology and performance of PD detection sensor, effective measurement technique and smart user friendly of graphical user interface (GUI) system are contributed towards the development of efficient monitoring system. This paper addresses three main aspects which are needed in completing the monitoring system. They are, the use of Rogowski coil (RC) as detection sensor, processing unit using Alterra board and integrated with GUI PD monitoring system for underground cable using LabVIEW. The monitoring system is compared to the conventional method with the PD signal used is measured from the real on-site measurement in order to analyse its performance. The analysis is performed in MATLAB and LabVIEW software?s environment and the maximum peak of PD signal is enabled to view using GUI which complete with the location information of PD source. Furthermore, this paper has contributed to solve the problem in selection the simplified and practical approach for PD sensor and monitoring system. In the perspective of automated condition monitoring, this smart online PD monitoring system provides a complete solution towards latest industrial revolutions

Abstract

Variable speed drives (VSDs) are widely used in various applications mainly in process industry need constant rotational speed. It is developed from power electronic components thus saving energy in its operation. Unfortunately it is susceptible against power quality problem for example voltage sags. The VSD may be disruption or drop out when it is supplied by voltage sags and it is determined by sag characteristics. This study is to investigate effect of voltage sags Types I, II and III on VSD through laboratory testing. The voltage sags characteristics are generated from voltage sag generator (Shaffner 2100 EMC).  The effects are presented in susceptibility curves in disruption and drop out conditions. The curves resulted are evaluated by standard curve recommended. Test results show that voltage sag Type I cause the VSD disruption only, whereas two types sag other result in the VSD disruption and also drop out. Evaluation results explain  a few test points are in operation area for disruption condition whereas test points for dropping out far below the threshold recommended. Hence the VSD has good quality to voltage sags.

Abstract

Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan Model Evaluasi Performance Assessment untuk menilai kemampuan komunikasi matematika siswa pada materi turunan di  SMA Negeri Kota  Banda Aceh, menerapkan model dan evaluasi performance assessment untuk menilai kemampuan komunikasi matematika siswa pada materi turunan di SMA Negeri Kota  Banda Aceh dan untuk mengetahui bagaimana respon dan kemampuan siswa terhadap komunikasi matematika mereka baik secara tertulis maupun lisan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan. Alat pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah berupa performance assessment task dan angket respon kepada siswa. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, diketahui bahwa pencapaian kemampuan komunikasi matematika siswa di SMAN Kota Banda Aceh secara tertulis dan lisan melalui penerapan performance assesment umumnya berada dalam kategori baik dan dari analisis angket ditemukan respon siswa mengenai komponen pembelajaran lebih dari setengah persen. Kesenangan mereka terhadap komponen pembelajaran tersebut juga menunjukkan respon postif. Kata kunci: Performance assessment dan Komunikasi Matematika Abstract: the purpose of this research was to find out the evaluation model of performance assessment to assessed student?s mathematic communication skill in Derivative Matter in SMA Negeri Kota Banda Aceh, applied the model and evaluation of performance assessment to assessed student?s mathematic communication skill in Derivative Matter in SMA Negeri Kota Banda Aceh, and to know how student?s responses and mathematic communication skill is in both written and verbal. The study was adopted as a research and development. The performance assessment task and students? responses questionnaire was used to collect the data. Based on the data analyses result, showed that achievement of student?s mathematic communication skill in SMA Negeri Kota Banda Aceh in both written and verbal using performance assessment generally placed in good cathegory and from analyses of responses questionnaire, it is known that student?s responses about learning component more than half a percent. Their attract to the learning component also showed positive responses.

Abstract

The aims of the research is to identify chemical compounds of leaf Sernai (Wedelia biflora) and test their bioactivity as antiplasmodium against of Plasmodium berghei. Extraction of the compounds from the Wedila biflora leaf was done with methanol. To observe the bioactivepotency of the Wedelia biflora extract antiplasmodium test against with The 4-day test method was done. The Phytochemical test results using theLieberman-Burchard reagent positive for triterpenoids compounds and analysis by GC-MS chromatogram identified 45 compounds with anabundance peak maximum of 27.92% which is identified in the data base as kaur-16-en-18-oic acid. Abstract

The objective of the present study was to investigate useful of Wedelia biflora leaves extracts as  anti allergic caused by dermatitis allergic in mice. A total of 24 males Wistar mices were utilized as experimental animal in this study. The experimental animals were divided into 4 groups, and each group has 4 mices. The first group was a control which was injected with aquades (negative control), while three other groups (group 2 to group 4) were fed with   Wedelia biflora extracts orally at doses of 20 g, 40 g and 60 g per kg body weight, respectively, and the fifth group was a positive control which was injected with 10% ovalbumin, and the last group was given antihistamin drug (Loratadine) as compared control. All of experimental animals were injected with ovalbumin on day 1, 7, and 21, except for  negative control  which were injected with distillated water. The ectracts of Wedelia biflora were fed for 21 days. The inflammation areas were measured using a digital caliper and analysis one-way Anova. The results showed that the treatment of Wedelia biflora were resulted in reducing inflammation size significantly (p 0.05) where the dose of 60 g/kg body weight was given the best result compared to other doses due to this value equivalent to antihistamine drug loratadine. We concluded that Wedelia biflora leaves extracts had the anti allergic effect.

Abstract

This paper presents, wavelet based de-noising technique for on-site partial discharge (PD) measurement signal. The signal is measured from medium voltage power cable at 11 kV distribution substation. The best mother wavelet, decomposition level and the type of threshold for the de-noising technique are selected based on the signal to noise ratio (SNR) aggregation. The SNR aggregation is determined based on the minimum, maximum, mean and standard deviation parameters.   The same standard de-noising procedure is applied for two different PD signals and the selection parameters are done based on the accuracy of de-noising analysis. The analysis is performed in MATLAB software environment and Daubechies 2 (db2) is found as the best mother wavelet at tenth decomposition levels with soft threshold type. This study is specifically performed to develop the de-noising procedure for on-site PD measurement. Overall results indicate that the right selection of the de-noising procedure will help to improve the PD signal detection from on?site measurement.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the contraceptive effect of the extract methanol of the leavesHydrocotyle javanica Thumb and its effect threat of implantation, the quantity and condition of fetuses,histology appearance of the ovary and uterus and rate of pregnancy. The female mice were given orallyeither methanol extract of leaves, for 10 days in various doses: 20, 40, 60, and 80 gram/kg BW. On day20, the mice were mated and when pregnancy occurred, treatment was stopped. On day 17 of pregnancy,the mice were sacrificed: uterus and ovaries were examined histologically. In conclusion, methanol extractof Hydrocotyle javanica Thumb shows contraceptive activity (P 0.05).Keywords: extract methanol, Hydrocotyle javanica Thumb, contraceptive

Abstract

The gain body weight and Spoilage of meat broiler which giving jaloh extract to combine with chromiumABSTRACT. A study was conducted on broiler chickens under heat stress to evaluate the effect of combined jaloh (Salix tetrasperma Roxb) extract with chromium mineral in the body weight, value of feed ratio conversion, and time to meat to become decomposed. Twenty four of 20-day old Cobb female broiler chickens were randomly assigned and divided to 4 treatment groups. Completely randomized design was used in this study. The treatments were as follows: 1) chickens given no heat stress and jaloh extract nor chromium (tCp); 2) chickens under heat stress without given jaloh extract nor chromium (Cp); 3) chickens under heat stress and given jaloh extract in 1.000 mg/lt drinking water (Cp+Ej); and 4) chickens under heat stress, given jaloh extract in 1.000 mg/lt drinking water, and chromium in 1.000 ug/lt drinking water (Cp+Ej+Cr). Heat stress given was 33 ± 1oC of cage temperature during 4 hours per day within 15 days. Jaloh extract and chromium treatments in drinking water were given at 2 hour before cage temperature reaching 33 ± 1oC and were stopped being given after 1 hour, when cage temperature back to room temperature. On the 16th day of the study chickens were measured before slaughtered. Samples obtained were chicken meat that taken from breast part (musculus pectoralis). The result suggested that either giving jaloh extract per se at the dose of 1.000 mg/lt in drinking water or combine it with chromium that given two hours before cage temperature reaching 33 ± 1oC, can prevent chickens from decreasing their body weight, decreasing value of feed ratio convertion, and extending time to meat to become decomposed.

Abstract

This paper focused on studying an algorithm of earth fault location in the medium voltage distribution network. In power system network, most of the earth fault occurs is a single line to ground fault. A medium voltage distribution network with resistance earthing at the main substation and an earth fault attached along the distribution network is modeled in ATP Draw. The generated earth fault is simulated, and the voltage and current signal produced is recorded. The earth fault location algorithm is simulated and tested in MATLAB. The accuracy of the earth fault location algorithm is tested at several locations and fault resistances. A possible correction technique is explained to minimize the error. The results show an improvement fault location distance estimation with minimum error.

Abstract

Quality of eggs might decrease when hens under heat stress. A further study found that a specific plant extracts could reduce the impacts of heat stress. The aim of this study was to determine effects of Salix tetrasperma plant extract in combination with extract of turmeric and neem to improve egg quality and productivity of laying hens under heat stress. Sixty laying hens strain Isa Brown of 6 months old were used and reared in individual cages. The feed and drinking water were supplied ad libitum. This study was conducted in a completely randomized design with five treatments (two controls and three treatments) and each treatment consisted of 12 replication. Treatment consisted of with (KP) and without (KP) commercial anti-stress supplement. Formulations of extract were S. tetrasperma 1.000 mg / l water (EJ), S. tetrasperma 1.000 mg / l + Turmeric 250 mg / l + neem 250 mg / l (EJ+K1), and S. tetrasperma 1.000 mg / l + Turmeric 500 mg / l + neem 500 mg / l drinking water (EJ+K2). The hens were exposed to heat stress for 5 hours per day at a temperature range of 34.0±1.0°C. Supplements were dissolved in drinking water and were given for 30 days in the morning and noon. Results showed that a single extract of S. tetrasperma or the combination of an extract of turmeric and neem were significantly increased thickness of eggshell (P<0.05), but did not affect color of egg yolk, height albumin, egg weight, and HU value. Extract of S. tetrasperma combined with turmeric and neem extract dissolved in drinking water for 30 days in laying hens reared under heat stress could not improved quality of the eggs, but may increase thickness of the egg shell and cause decreased water consumption.
