Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis karakteristik massa air di perairan Muara Sugihan berdasarkan parameter oseanografi (arus, suhu dan salinitas) dan mengkaji tipe estuari di perairan Muara Sugihan. Pengambilan data lapangan dilaksanakan pada bulan September 2016 dengan menggunakan metode purposive sampling yang dilakukan pada kondisi menuju pasang dan kondisi menuju surut dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif komperatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Karakteristik massa air di Muara Sugihan dipengaruhi oleh kondisi pasang surut. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari adanya perbedaan karakteristik massa air saat menuju pasang maupun saat menuju surut. Saat kondisi menuju pasang kecepatan arus berkisar 0,001 m/s ? 0,026 m/s dengan suhu tertinggi 31,75°C dan salinitas 32 psu. Kondisi menuju surut kecepatan arus berkisar 0,001 m/s ? 0,033 m/s dengan suhu tertinggi 30,41°C dan salinitas 32 psu. Berdasarkan distribusi salinitasnya Muara Sugihan termasuk kedalam tipe estuari tercampur sempurna (well-mixed estuary).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of husk and cocopeat charcoal planting medium, liquid organic fertilizer (POC) on banana peel waste and the interaction between planting medium and POC on banana peel waste on the growth and production of tomato plants cultivated in hydroponic substrates. Dosen Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Riau JOM Faperta UR Vol. 6 Edisi 1 Januari s/d Juni 2019 research was conducted at the experimental field of Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau from August 2017 to January 2018 using factorial randomized complete design (CRD). The first factor was the planting medium consisting of two levels, husk charcoal (M1) and cocopeat (M2). The second factor was four concentrations of liquid organic fertilizer from banana peel waste consisting, without the administration of liquid organic fertilizer banana peel waste (P0), 2 ml.l-1 water (P1), 4 ml.l-1 water (P2) and 6 ml.l-1 water (P3). The parameters observed were plant height, day of flowering, number of flowers, percentage of fruit formation, day of first harvest, number of fruits per plant, total weight of fruit per plant and weight per fruit. The results showed that there was no interaction between the planting medium and the POC of banana peel waste as well as the single factor of POC peel waste waste on all observed treatments. The treatment of planting medium had a significant effect on all parameters observed except the percentage of fruit formation, age of first harvest, and weight per fruit. The use of husk charcoal medium produced higher plants with higher number of flowers, higher fruit weight and total fruit weight per plant compared to the use of cocopeat planting medium in the production of hydroponic substrate tomato plants. Abstract

This study aimed to determine the variability an to identify local rice genotipe collected from West Bangkinang and Tambang, Kampar District. The seventeen accessions were grow in Agricultural Experiment Station University of Riau Pekanbaru from September 2017 to March 2018. This research uses descriptive analysis method which includes characterization activities in 17 local rice accessions.Local rice from the West Bangkinang District and Tambang Subdistrict showed uniform and varied performances. The character of the leaf midrib and panicle shaft shows a uniform performance value. The character of leaf tongue shape, leaf color, leaf length, flag leaf angle, root stem diameter, number of children, color of rootstock section, panicle type and color of grain tip showed varying performance values. The results of the analysis of the diversity of morphological characters in 17 local rice accessions ranged from (0 – 4,971). The leaf midrib color character has a uniform diversity and the panicle type character has a very high diversity.Keywords: local rice, diversity, morphology.

Abstract

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effectiveness of natural soap on the color of batik. Natural soap used is lerak fruit, liquid soap from lerak and liquid soap from mangroves. The method used is comparing the test results using standard soap (AATTC WOB) required in the SNI ISO 105-C06: 2010 method with natural soap. The results showed that the color change values using standard soap, lerak fruit, liquid soap from lerak and liquid soap from mangrove plants were the same on a 4-5 scale. The color desecration value of cotton fiber for standard soap, lerak fruit, liquid soap from lerak on scale 4. The desecration value of cotton fiber for liquid soap from mangroves on a 4-5 scale is better than the standard AATCC soap. The value of the color change between natural soap and standard soap is not significantly different. Then natural soap can be used as a batik washing solution.

Abstract

Hutan mangrove di daerah estuari mampu menghasilkan stok karbon yang sangat besar sebagai daerah perlindungan dan pemulihan yang efektif sebagai strategi mitigasi perubahan iklim yang efektif. Pemilihan ekosistem pesisir dalam strategi mitigasi memerlukan kuantifikasi stok karbon untuk menghitung emisi atau penyerapan berdasarkan waktu. Penelitian ini menghitung stok karbon pada ekosistem Musi Estuari Waters (MEW) dan Banyuasin Estuari Water (BEW), Provinsi Sumatera Selatan pada tipe vegetasi yang berbeda dan hubungan variabel lingkungan dengan stok karbon. Di tujuh lokasi dalam MEW dan BEW sampel vegetasi dan tanah. Hasil yang didapatkan adalah nilai yang lebih tinggi dari stok karbon di vegetasi dari lokasi III/MEW (7.600,92 mg.ha-1), stok karbon dalam tanah dari lokasi II/MEW (61.081,87 mg.ha-1) dan stok karbon di ekosistem dari lokasi II (64.548,54 mg.ha-1). Mangrove A. marina merupakan yang paling baik menyimpan stok carbon termasuk antara vegetasi dan tanah karena toleransi salinitas yang rendah. Kata kunci: mangrove, karbon, estuari, Musi, Banyuasin Mangrove forests in estuarines can have exceptionally large carbon stocks and their protection and restoration would constitute an effective mitigation strategy to climate change. Inclusion of coastal ecosystems in mitigation strategies require quantification of carbon stocks in order to calculate emissions or sequestration through time. This study quantified the ecosystem carbon stocks of the Musi Estuarine Waters (MEW) and Banyuasin Estuarine Water (BEW), Province of South Sumatra into different vegetation types and examined relationships of environmental variables with carbon stocks. At seven sites within MEW and BEW of vegetation and soil samples. The results that the higher value of carbon stock in vegetation from Site III/MEW (7.600,92 mg.ha-1), the carbon stock in soil from Site II/MEW (61.081,87 mg.ha-1) and carbon stock in ecosystem from Site II (64.548,54 mg.ha-1). Mangrove of A. marina the best to explain carbon stocks included both vegetation and soil because they can tolerate lower salinity. Keywords: mangrove, carbon, estuarine, Musi, Banyuasin

Abstract

The Attempt to Improve the Quality of Balinese Grapevine Fruits (Vitis vinifera L. Var Alphonso Lavallee) With GA Application from Bamboo Shoot Extract at The Blooming Phase   Balinese table grape is one of the superior fruit in Bali. Balinese table grape less salable than imported grapes because of the lack of the sweetness, small fruit size and the presence of the seeds are the weaknesses of Balinese table grapes quality. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the bamboo shoots extract at the blooming phase to improve fruit quality. The experimental design used was a Randomized Block Design with 5 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments are different concentration of bamboo shoot extract including without bamboo shoot extract (control), 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% of bamboo shoot extract. The observed variables were fruitset length, number of fruit per fruitset, fruit weight per fruitset, weight per fruit, number of seeds per fruit, total soluble solids and organoleptic test. The result showed that 100% bamboo shoot extract concentration was able to improve the quality of Balinese grapevines with fruitset length of 20.93 cm increased by 157.3% compared to control, the number of seeds 1.36 decreased by 54% compared to control, and total soluble solids 8.79oBrix increased by 122.8% compared with controls.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menilai kemungkinan penggunaan bentonit sebagai mordan potensial dalam pewarnaan alam pada kain batik katun dengan kayu secang (Caesalpinia Sappan Linn.). Karakterisasi bentonit dilakukan dengan menggunakan Spektrometer Infra Merah dan analisis banyaknya Al yang terkadung dalam bentonit alam dilakukan dengan menggunakan Spektrofotometer Serapan Atom (AAS). Proses mordan kain katun dilakukan dengan perbandingan berat kain:air 1:50. Variasi banyaknya bentonit yang digunakan yaitu 3%, 6%, dan 9% dari berat kain. Proses mordan dilakukan pada suhu 90 °C selama 45 menit dan dibiarkan selama 12 jam pada suhu kamar. Pewarnaan dilakukan dengan menggunakan ekstrak ZWA Kayu Secang hasil dari proses ekstraksi zat warna alam pada suhu 100 °C selama 60 menit. Hasil spektra IR memberikan informasi tentang keberadaan unit pembangun tetrahedral dalam kerangka bentonite serta interaksi ikatannya. Pita serapan khas untuk struktur bentonit diperoleh pada bilangan gelombang 794 cm¬-1, 470 cm¬-1 dan 1056 cm¬-1. Jumlah kandungan Al dalam sampel bentonit alam adalah 6,81%. Hasil pewarnaan sampel menggunakan ekstrak zat warna alam secang dengan mordan akhir bentonite memiliki arah warna merah kecoklatan dengan nilai ketuaan warna -36,38 pada sampel batik dengan mordan bentonit 3% adalah dan 36,76 pada sampel batik dengan mordan bentonit 9%. Keduanya memiliki nilai ketuaan warna yang hampir sama dengan sampel pewarnaan batik menggunakan mordan tawas yaitu sebesar -37,48. Hasil uji ketahanan luntur warna kain terhadap pencucian sampel pewarnaan menggunakan mordan bentonit memiliki nilai 4 (baik) untuk maksimum penggunaan 6% dan 3-4 (cukup baik) untuk sampel pewarnaan menggunakan mordan bentonite 9%. Berdasarkan hasil uji dan analisa yang dilakuklan, bentonit berpotensi untuk digunakan sebagai mordan dalam pewarnaan alam pada kain batik katun dengan kayu secang (Caesalpinia Sappan Linn.). Abstract

This study aims to determine the soybean varieties which provide the best response to the germination phase with Polyethylen Glycol. This research was conducted from February to May 2019 atPlant Breeding Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University. The study was conducted experimentally using factorial randomized complete design with two factors, where the first factor was soybean variety: V1 (Najsmoro variety), V2 (Dena 1 variety) and V3 (Argomulyo variety). The second factor was PEG concentration: D1 (0% PEG concentration), D2 (5% PEG concentration), D3 (10% PEG concentration), D4 (15% PEG concentration), D5 (20% PEG concentration). The parameters observed were germination, Indeks value test (IVT), length of roots and plomules. The data obtained were analyzed statistically with variance and continued with a DNMRT further test at the level of 5%. The results showed that the three varieties had germination> 90% after being treated with PEG concentration. Anjasmoro and Dena 1 varieties are varieties with good germination phase after giving of PEG concentration. Keywords: Germination, Soybean varieties, Polyethylen Glycol.
