Abstract

Predatory thrips species is very important to restrain pest population in the field. This study was conducted to explore and analyze the diversity of predatory thrips species in and around chili planting in the lowland and swamp areas in Jambi. The survey was conducted at 13 sites in the lowlands and 6 sites in the swamp areas. The survey found 22 species of thrips predators in lowlands and 6 six species in swamp areas which are grouped into nine families. Abstract

The lack of Biology teaching materials in senior high school in the Kerinci District has promoted this research. The purpose of this development research is to produce e-modules as teaching materials used by students in Biology subjects. The model used in developing this e-module is the 4-D model, which consists of 4 stages, namely defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. Biology e-modules on plantae and animalia material based on the potential of the Kerinci region were validated by media and material experts. The results of the media expert validation obtained the final percentage of 90% (very valid category) and the material expert validation obtained a percentage of 75% (valid category). From the results of the field test, the teacher responded that the e-modules produced were suitable for use in biology class X high school learning with a percentage of 92.5% (very good category). Furthermore, e-module trials on students obtained responses that the products produced were also proper to be used in biology learning in class X of senior high school. The small group test obtained a score of 85% (excellent category) and the large group test obtained score 78.3% (good category). The use of the developed e-modules in learning resulted in a score of 76.3% (successful category).

Abstract

Abstrak Pengembangan Lembar kerja siswa (LKS) penting dilakukan agar LKS sebagai salah satu bahan ajar dapat membiasakan siswa untuk berpikir logis, kritis dan sistematis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan LKS berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) pada mata pelajaran biologi SMA. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development), dengan menggunakan model Dick, Carey and Carey (analisis, desain, pengembangan dan evaluasi). Data proses pengembangan dihimpun menggunakan instrumen validasi ahli materi dan ahli desain pembelajaran, angket respons siswa dan guru. Hasil penilaian kelayakan dari ahli materi mendapatkan rata-rata nilai 80%, dan dari ahli desain rata-rata nilai 81% termasuk dalam kategori  layak, dilihat dari aspek isi, aspek penyajian, aspek tampilan, aspek integrasi dan aspek bahasa. Respon siswa terhadap LKS yang dikembangkan sebesar 93% termasuk dalam kriteria sangat baik.  Respon guru terhadap LKS yang dikembangkan sebesar 88,48% termasuk dalam kriteria sangat baik, sehingga hasil observasi menunjukkan siswa lebih aktif. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa LKS berbasis PBL memenuhi syarat kelayakan sebagai bahan ajar dan mampu melatih kemampuan siswa dalam  berpikir kritis.

Abstract

Diversity, domination, and distribution of rice stem borer species and its damage in various land typologies in Jambi Province.  The research was conducted to analyze the diversity, domination, species distribution of rice stem borers (RSB) and its damage on various land typologies in Jambi Province.  The research was carried out using survey method, from December 2010 until June 2011.  Samples of RSB were collected from tidal swamp in Tanjung Jabung Timur District, swampy area in Muaro Jambi District, rainfed lowland in Sarolangun District, irrigated lowland in Merangin District, and irrigated upland in Kerinci District and Sungai Penuh District.  The results showed that there were five spesies of  RSB found in Jambi Province.  Scirpophaga  incertulas Walker (yellow stem borer) was the most dominant of RSB, followed by Sesamia inferens Walker (pink stem borer), Chilo suppressalis Walker (striped stem borer), Chilo polychrysus Meyrick (dark-headed stem borer), and Scirpophaga innotata Walker (white stem borer).  The distribution of S. incertulas, S. inferens, C. suppressalis and C. polychrysus were in all of rice field in Jambi Province, but that of S. innotata was limited over tidal swamp and  rainfield  lowland area. The RSB damage rate was lower than economic thereshold.

Abstract

Active learning requires the existence of teaching materials that are appropriate to students conditions and meet students? needs. This study aims to (i) produce a science learning module based on the case study method used as teaching material, (ii) reveal the quality of media developed in terms of content, appearance, and attractiveness, and (iii) study the process of developing a case study science learning module for middle school students. This research is a type of research and development. The product developed was validated by a media expert and learning material expert. The product trial was carried out in two steps, namely small group trials and large group trials. The subjects of the trial consisted of six students (small group trials) and 30 students (large group trials), all of whom were students of grade VII of SMPN 3 Tanjung Jabung Timur. The data collected from media experts and learning material experts as well as form science teacher and students.  Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The results of this study can be concluded that the development of a science module based on case study methods was declared feasible to be used in learning activities based on the results of material and media expert validation. Based on the results of student and teacher responses, the science module based on a case study method is very good to be used as teaching material in schools.

Abstract

The humans’ respiratory system is one of the material subject biology in eight grades of junior high school. Human respiratory system material requires an understanding of the concept. The use of interactive multimedia is one way to presenting the material. Based on the observation in SMP 24 Jambi found that the students are difficult to understand the material because the teacher is not optimal in using the media. Therefore, the teachers need a learning media to describe the material. Interactive multimedia flash can be used as the media. The purpose of this research is to develop and to know the students responses in the multimedia interactive learning material on the human respiratory system for junior high school in VIII class using Adobe Flash Professional Cs6. This research is the development research. The research design in this study follows the ADDIE development model.ADDIE development model has five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. Before the multimedia product tested it will be validate by the expert to determine the feasibility of the product, the team experts are material expert and media expert. The result of the validation from material expert obtained 87.1 % score with very good categories and the result of the validation from media expert obtained 80% score with good categories. The students’ response to the media for small group is in very good category with of 87.8% and for large group is classified in very well category with 87.1%. Based on the result, the conclusion this study is the multimedia interactive learning on the material of the human respiratory system got a very good response from the students. Multimedia interactive learning on the material in the human respiratory system can help the teacher in the learning process and can be used as self-learning that students can use at school and outside school hours.

Abstract

The research objective was to determine the efforts that had been made in fulfilling the availability of parks, analyzing the broad needs of public parks based on the size of the area and the number of residents and developing a strategy for developing parks in Jambi City. This research was conducted through surveys and direct observations in the field (observation). Data collection is needed to analyze the needs of the park area in Jambi City. Data is collected in the form of primary data and secondary data. The data used in this study include administrative data, physical data, social demographic data and other data that support research. Details of the data are in the form of the Jambi City Administration map, the 2013-2033 Jambi City spatial plan map (RTRW), satellite imagery maps, legislation and regulations relating to green open space, area and population. Data collection techniques are interviews, observation and documentation. The results of the study show that the area of the park in Jambi City is not sufficient for the amount of park needed based on the area and population. Several analyzes were carried out through descriptive analysis, a combination of quantitative qualitative and SWOT analysis.

Abstract

Media pembelajaran merupakan hal yang mutlak digunakan dalam proses belajar. Mengajar.Dalam pembelajaran biologi khususnya materi tentang Tumbuhan guru harus dapat memberikan pemahaman dan pengenalan kepada siswa terhadap berbagai jenistumbuhan termasuk tumbuhan herba.Pemanfaatan keanekaragaman tumbuhan yang ada di alam merupakan salah satu solusi yang paling tepat bagi guru untuk mencapai tujuan pembelajaran yang lebih optimal.Penggunaan media pembelajaran herbarium sangat cocok diterapkan di Pondok Pesantren Al-Hidayah, karena begitu padatnya materi yang diajarkan di sekolah tersebut. Herbarium merupakan media pembelajaran yang awet dan dapat tahan lama sehingga dapat memudahkan dalam  penyimpanan.

Abstract

Kegiatan pelatihan ini dilakukan secara bertahap, mulai dari tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan dan tindak lanjut. Dalam kegiatan persiapan dilakukan dalam bentuk rapat persiapan di internal tim pengabdian meliputi persiapan materi, penentuan pemateri dan target yang akan dicapai. Selanjutnya tahap pelaksanaan yaitu pelatihan tentang penulisan artikel, pemberian motivasi, dan praktek penulisan artikel. Pelatihan dilakukan sesuai kesepakatan waktu antara tim pengabdian dan guru-guru di sekolah. Kegiatan Pelatihan telah dilakukan pada tanggal 14 agustus 2018 bertempat di aula SMA N 11 Muaro Jambi. Tahap terakhir adalah tindak lanjut dari pelatihan yaitu pendampingan penulisan artikel hingga artikel guru-guru SMA N 11 Muaro jambi dapat dimuat di Jurnal Nasional maupun Internasional. Hasilnya guru SMA N 11 Muaro Jambi telah berhasil menulis artikel dan dipublikasikan di Jurnal terakreditasi.

Abstract

Web-based interactive biology multimedia to support the learning of the revolution 4.0 era is not yet available to the fullest. The purpose of this research is to develop interactive biology-based website multimedia in the face of the industrial revolution 4.0. The research method used, namely research & development with ADDIE product development models that include the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research instruments used were interview transcripts, observation sheets, material and media expert questionnaires, and product trial questionnaires for 46 students. Qualitative data in the form of expert validator suggestions and comments were analyzed descriptively. Quantitative data is processed into interval data using a Likert scale. The results showed that website-based interactive multimedia biology was declared valid in the media aspect (90%, very good criteria), material aspects (87.5%, very good criteria), and attractiveness aspects (88%, very good criteria). The conclusion of this research, which is interactive multimedia based on website biology, is suitable for biology learning.
