Abstract

Penelitian ini menyangkut tentang upaya untuk menunjukkan hubungan yang terjadi secara timbal balik antara matematika dengan budaya. Selama ini matematika dianggap tidak ada kaitannya sama sekali dengan budaya. Anggapan tersebut berperan besar dalam melahirkan praktik kolonialisasi pembelajaran matematika di beberapa negara. Upaya untuk menghilangkan praktik kolonialisasi pembelajaran matematika tersebut didiskusikan oleh para matematikawan dan ahli pendidikan matematika internasional dalam suatu wadah yang disebut ethnomathematics. Penelitian ini dilakukan di daerah adat Baduy, tepatnya di Kampung Gajeboh. Fokus situasi sosial yang diteliti adalah aktivitas di huma (ladang). Tujuannya yaitu mengungkap sistem bilangan (bentuk matematika yang tidak familiar) yang terdapat pada aktivitas tersebut. Metode penelitian terbaru dalam kajian ethnomathematics mengadopsi prinsip mutual interrogation berupa critical dialogue. Metode itu pula yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Sebagaimana penelitian-penelitian ethnomathematics di negara-negara lain, teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan prinsip-prinsip dalam ethnography, yaitu observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, hingga pada pembuatan catatan lapangan (field notes). Hasil temuan pada aktivitas pertanian diungkap melalui budaya sebagai kerangka acuan. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan kepada masyarakat Indonesia bahwa sudah seharusnya kita memandang adanya keterhubungan antara matematika dengan budaya.Kata kunci: ethnomathematics, Masyarakat Adat Baduy, mutual interrogation, critical dialogues, dan ethnography.

Abstract

This research studies mathematical communication and representation through problem based-learning which is developed by design research. There are two objectives of this research. First, in short term, the research is conducted to know: how students‘ mathematical communication and representation develops, does classroom culture support the achievement of basic-competence, and what are students‘ learning obstacles. Second, in long term, this research is conducted to develop ―a theory‖ in mathematics education. These two objectives are expected to be achieved through developmental research (in this case using design research). The first objective is achieved by design research which includes three phases: preliminary design, experiment, and retrospective analysis. The preliminary research showed that: (i) mathematical communication and representation could be developed through contextual learning materials, proper teacher‘s intervention, various learning-teaching settings, a didactical situation developed by the teacher, and the teacher‘s effort in connecting didactical situations i.e., between learning materials and students, and between students and the teacher; (ii) students‘ difficulties include: a difficulty in communicating mathematical idea verbally, representing mathematical idea algebraically, using mathematical representation to solve problems, and proposing argumentation; and (iii) the teacher‘s difficulty is analyzing students‘ mathematical communication and representations.Key Words: learning obstacles, mathematical communication, mathematical representation, design research

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to examine the forms of representation constructed by primary school students in solving mathematical problems. Representation is the basis or foundation of how a student could understand and use mathematical ideas. The forms of representation, such as charts, graphs, and symbols, are essentially a long process of learning mathematics, but unfortunately these representations are often thought of and studied in its final form. Actually, representations should be given as support in the process of understanding concepts, the associations of mathematics, mathematical communication, constructing arguments, and apply mathematical concepts in everyday life through modeling. This research showed that the forms of representation constructed by the students are extremely varied. They are constructed in tables, images, patterns, and in the formal forms of mathematics (the formula). This study was also revealed that some students are able to develop forms of representation using logical mathematical processes. Students begin to formulate a representation using known premise, set the table, make conjecture, and subsequently arrange a formal representation.Keywords: mathematic representation, tables, charts, graphs, statements.

Abstract

Salah satu upaya untuk mengaktifkan siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika dapat dilakukan melalui penerapan model pembinaan propesi guru yang dikenal dengan nama “Lesson Study”. Kegiatan Lesson Study dilakukan dalam tiga tahapan yaitu Plan (perencanaan), Do (pelaksanaan) dan  See (repleksi) yang dilakukan secara kolaboratif dan berkelanjutan. Dengan menggunakan  instrumen penelitian berupa Lembar Observasi dan Lembar Kerja Siswa dengan topik penjumlahan dan pengurangan bentuk aljabar suku sejenis dan bukan sejenis, penelitian dilaksanakan terhadap siswa kelas VII  SMPN I Jatinangor, observasi kelas dilakukan oleh 26 guru matematik pada hari Rabu tanggal 22 Desember 2006 bertepatan dengan Implementasi putaran pertama kegiatan Lesson Study. Dari hasil analisis lembar observasi pembelajaran terungkap bahwa model pembelajaran Kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dapat memotivasi setiap anggota kelompok untuk bekerja sama secara bertanggung jawab mengerjakan tugas yang terdapat pada LKS. Nilai tugas matematik pada LKS yang diperoleh masing-masing kelompok berkategori tinggi, menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan`berdiskusi kelompok kecil untuk menyelesaikan masalah  lebih memotivasi anak dalam menemukan solusi yang lebih baik. Hal-hal penting yang diperoleh guru sebagai observer dari kegiatan lesson study ini adalah adanya penambahan pengetahuan tentang model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw; memilih media pembelajaran sederhana dan menyusun yang LKS dapat memotivasi dan membantu siswa bermatematika secara aktif; cara guru memberikan motivasi pada siswa; dan cara menjalin hubungan yang baik antara guru dengan siswa. Kata kunci:  lesson study, model kooperatif, jigsaw, motivasi

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengkaji perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan pemecahan masalah antara siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran model investigasi kelompok dengan siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran biasa. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa Madrasah Aliyah dengan sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas yang diambil secara acak dari delapan kelas XI yang ada di Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Kota Bandung dengan teknik purposive sampling. Kelas pertama sebagai kelas kontrol dan kelas kedua sebagai kelas eksperimen. Kelas kontrol memperoleh pembelajaran biasa dan kelas eksperimen memperoleh pembelajaran dengan model investigasi kelompok. Pengumpulan data hasil penelitian menggunakan instrumen berupa soal-soal tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan pemecahan masalah matematis dianalisis secara kuantitatif. Data sebelum dianalisis terlebih dahulu diuji normalitas dan homogenitas dilanjutkan uji-t, jika data tidak normal memakai uji Mann-Whitney. Data hasil skala sikap dianalisis secara kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa adanya perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan pemecahan masalah matematis antara siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran model investigasi kelompok dengan siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran biasa. Analisis data angket skala sikap memperlihatkan bahwa siswa bersikap positif terhadap pembelajaran matematika yang mencakup sikap terhadap pelajaran matematika, pembelajaran dengan model investigasi kelompok maupun terhadap soal-soal kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan pemecahan masalah matematis.

Abstract

Salah satu kompetensi inti sebagai guru matematika adalah kompetensi pedagogi yaitu  mengembangkan kurikulum (enacted curriculum) dalam mata pelajaran matematika. Dalam Pendidikan Profesi Guru (PPG) Matematika di Universitas Pendidikan Bandung (UPI), kemampuan pedagogi ini dilatih melalui workshop yang disebut subject specific pedagogy (SSP). Tujuan dari kajian ini adalah mengembangkan suatu model/prosedur workshop yang efektif dalam mendorong peserta PPG untuk meningkatkan kompetensi pedagoginya. Model ini dikembangkan atas dasar teori segitiga didaktik antara siswa, guru dan materi yang meliputi Hubungan Didaktik (HD), Hubungan Pedagogik (HP) dan Antisipasi Didaktik-Pedagogik (ADP). Dengan mengikuti prosedur workshop yang telah ditetapkan ini, diperoleh desain pembelajaran matematika yang baru dan efektif. Hal ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kompetensi pedagogik para peserta  PPG.  Kelemahan peserta akan penguasaan materi dapat diatasi melalui  pendalaman kembali (repersonalisasi) sebagai tugas mandiri, sedangkan kelemahan dalam memprediksi respon siswa dapat diatasi dengan memberikan para peserta pengalaman dalam mengobservasi dan refleksi.Kata kunci:   antisipasi didaktik-pedagogik, desain didaktis, hubungan didaktik, hubungan pedagogik, subject specific pedagogy

Abstract

Abstract. Mathematics is a lesson that is taught from primary education to higher education. However, the implementation of learning, especially SMP were encountered obstacles, one of which is the lack of representative learning device. This study was a response to the need for a valid learning tool, especially book teacher and student book. This research development, namely the development of learning tools based on open-ended approach to improve the ability to think creatively mathematical school students with materials Statistics. Software development models used in this study was a modification of the steps Plomp model, namely (1) preliminary investigation phase (phase preliminary investigation), (2) design phase (phase design), (3) realization/construction phase (phase realization/construction), and (4) test, evaluation, and revision phase (phase test, evaluation and revision. The device consists of learning learning implementation plan (RPP), teacher guide, student books, student worksheet and the test of learning outcomes. Methode of data collection was done through the validation sheet, test, and questionnaire of students? responses. Results of the validation sheet was obtained that the RPP had an average value of 4.05 with valid criteria, teacher guide had an average value of 3.94 with valid criteria, students? books had an average value of 3.9 with valid criteria, student worksheet had an average value of 3.83 with valid criteria, and test results of learning had an average value of 4.15 with very valid criteria. Students' response to the five components was as much as 94.3%.Keywords: Software development learning, model plomp, open-ended approach, mathematical creative thinking ability

Abstract

Abstrak. Pokok pembahasan dalam skripsi ini adalah langkah-langkah mendeteksi pencilan dengan pendekatan Bayesian pada model regresi linear. Metode Bayesian memberikan hasil penaksiran yang lebih baik daripada penaksiran dengan metode klasik. Pendekatan Bayesian yang dilakukan adalah dengan mempertimbangkan distribusi awal (prior) dengan melihat fungsi likelihood data dan juga melibatkan distribusi posterior. Data pencilan merupakan salah satu masalah yang sering terjadi pada model regresi. Keberadaan data pencilan dapat mengganggu proses pengujian dan pengambilan keputusan dalam penelitian. Untuk itu, ingin dikaji lebih lanjut mengenai pencarian data pencilan dengan pendekatan Bayesian. Data pencilan ini dapat diketahui dengan membandingkan peluang prior dan peluang posterior dari data regresi yang diperoleh, jika nilai peluang posterior lebih besar dari peluang prior maka data tersebut dikatakan data pencilan.Kata kunci: Pencilan, Bayesian.Abstract. The main issue in this study is the steps to detect outlier by Bayesian approach in the linear regression model. Bayesian method gives better results than the assessment of assessments by classical methods. Bayesian approach is done by considering prior distribution, which is obtained by looking likelihood function, and posterior distribution. Data outliers is one of the problem that often occur in the regression model. The existence of data outliers can disturb trial processes and decision-making in research. Furthermore, would be examined on detecting outlier by Bayesian approach. The outlier can be determined by comparing prior and posterior probability which is obtained of data regression, if posterior probability value is greater than prior probability then it called by outlier.Keyword: outlier, Bayesian.

Abstract

This research aims to develop mathematics student teacher professional and pedagogical competencies through subject Specific Pedagogy (SSP) workshops by applying cyclic-reflective-collaborative model. The research involved 42 mathematics student teacher of the Teacher Professional Education (PPG) program at the Department of Mathematics Education year 2015 and year 2016. The students had one year teaching experience. The workshops were carried out in 10 weeks, 6 cycles, using the design OXO, and focused on developing student abilities in planning educative learning-and-teaching (subject specific pedagogy)?which covers the following program: deepening subject matter knowledge, the development of learning methods and materials, the development of learning media and assessment tools, the development of teaching plans and syllabi, and the implementation of these components in the real classrooms. The strategy, used in the workshops, was a cyclic model: plan-action-reflection (PAR), which is adapted from the lesson study principles: plan-do-see. This strategy was implemented in a cycle of process, product, and open lesson. The instrument included professional and pedagogical competencies test?which covers school mathematics topics grades 7-12. The results showed that SSP workshops with cyclic model, applying the lesson study principles, are effective for developing student professional and pedagogical competencies?in medium level; most of students felt comfortable and were facilitated during the workshops; and the minimum competencies, quantitatively, can be achieved with the improvement is in the medium level.

Abstract

This meta-analysis study aims to investigate the effectiveness of applying realistic mathematics education (RME) in Indonesia to students' mathematical abilities. This study analyzes 95 effect sizes from 72 studies that have been published in national and international journals or proceedings from 2010 to 2019. Comprehensive Meta-Analysis (CMA) software is used to aid analysis. As a result of the study, the overall effect size was 1.104, with a standard error of 0.065 according to the random-effects model. These results indicate that the average person who is ranked 13th in the experimental group is equivalent to those who are ranked 4th in the control group. This research was carried out by considering four characteristics, resulting in significant differences in terms of sample size and duration of treatment. Thus the application of RME in Indonesia is very effective in improving students' mathematical abilities by considering the sample size and duration of treatment.
