Abstract

Pasar merupakan sebuah wadah pertemuan antara penjual dan pembeli untuk bertransaksi secara langsung, sedangkan tradisional dimaknai sebagai sikap dan cara berpikir serta bertindak yang selalu berpegang teguh kepada norma dan adat. Pasar bisa menjadi jalur penyebaran penyakit. Keberadaan fasilitas sanitasi sangat penting untuk memberikan keleluasaan pada pedagang dan pengunjung yang beraktivitas di pasar tersebut, contohnya seperti toilet. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya jamur Candida albicans pada air bak toilet di pasar tradisional kota Pekanbaru. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Experimental. Berdasarkan hasil pemeriksaan dari 8 pasar yang ada dikota Pekanbaru, ada 5 pasar yang ditemukan positif terkontaminasi jamur Candida albicans, dan 3 pasar lainnya terkontaminasi jamur spesies lain. Kesimpulan bahwa dari 15 sampel air bak toilet yang ada di pasar tradisional kota Pekanbaru ditemukan 8 sampel yang terkontaminasi jamur candida albicans .

Abstract

Air merupakan salah satu sumber penularan penyakit, Banyak penyakit yang di tularkan melalui air yang di sebabkan dari kontaminasi bakteri, virus, parasit dan jamur. Kontaminasi jamur pada air berasal dari sumber air yang tidak dijaga dengan baik. larutan Lacto Phenol Cotton Blue (LPCB) berfungsi mewarnai jamur menjadi biru. Tujuan dari penelitian ini mengetahui jamur patogen yang terdapat pada air bak toilet SPBU di Kecamatan Rumbai Kota Pekanbaru. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode experimen di laboratorium. Pemeriksaan laboratorium meliputi penanaman pada media PDA (Potato Dextrose Agar) dengan melakukan metode pour plate. Identifikasi dilakukan secara makroskopis dengan melihat bentuk dan warna koloni, serta secara mikroskopis menggunakan larutan LPCB. Hasil yang didapat dari penelitian ini paling banyak ditemukan jamur Candida dan ada juga jamur lain seperti Aspergillus, Trichophyton, Penicillium. Dari hasil yang didapat, disimpulkan bahwa pada air bak toilet SPBU di Kecamatan Rumbai Kota Pekanbaru ditemukan adanya jamur patogen.

Abstract

ABSTRACTTo avoid contamination of bacteria pathogens natural and safe antibacterial agent is needed. The alternative sources of antibacterial compound is derived from sea star. In this extraction study of sea star activity showed that activity of the methanol from extract of starfish have the highest inhibition against for several bacterial pathogens compared to that of ethyl acetate and n-hexane extract with inhibition zone of 9.5 mm, 8.5 mm, 10.0 mm, 11.0 mm in S. aureus, B. subtilis, P. auroginosa and E. coli respectively. It showed that of TLC preparatif triterpenoid was capable inhibition more in Gram negative bacteria (Asterias forbesii) has been caried out to obtain antibacterial compounds. To determine bioactive components in the extract of sea star chemical test has been conducted. Toxicity of secondary metabolites was determind using method of Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT). Assay of antibacterial activity of starfish extract was conducted against four pathogenic bacterial strains, two Gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis), and two Gram-negative bacteria (Pseudomonas auroginosa and Escherichia coli). The result showed that the methanol extract contained alkaloid, terpenoids, saponins and flavonoids, while the extract of n-hexane and ethyl acetate only contain saponins and flavonoids. BSLT test showed that LC50 of extract of n-hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol were 1412,54 ppm, 13182,57 ppm and 63,10 ppm respectively. Antibacterial (E. coli and P. auroginosa) bacteria compared with Gram positive (S. aureus and B. subtilis) .Keywords: Asterias forbesii, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Pseudomonas auroginosa, Escherichia coli, antibacterial compound

Abstract

Ringworm of the skin caused by a Trichophyton mentaghrophytes, Drugs that are commonly used are synthetic drugs, synthetic drugs can have a negative impact. By because it, research on natural antifungal substances continue to do that with the use of pineapple skin.A pineapple skin waste processed pineapple industry, namely the remainder of the meat and fruit contains secondary metabolites are flavonoids, phenolics, saponins, triterpenoids, steroids and alkaloids. The purpose of this study to determine the content of secondary metabolites contained in the pineapple skin and for the inhibition of Trichophyton mentaghrophytes using experimental laboratoryin vitro. Pineapple bark extract prepared in various concentrations of 10%, 15%, 20% and 25%, then test the inhibition ofTrichophyton mentaghrophytesand incubated temperature 25o C for 5day. Based on the results obtained percentage pineapple skin extractfungal inhibition test Trichophyton mentaghrophytesthe concentration 10%, 15%, 20% and 25%, respectively, are22%, 37%, 46% and 56% compared to the positive control.Based on this research, pineapple bark extract containing flavonoids, phenolics, saponins, triterpenoids, steroids and alkaloids. The results of this study can be concluded that the extract of pineapple skin Trichophyton mentaghrophyteswhich is characterized by the formation of inhibit zone.

Abstract

Aflatoxicosis is a disease generated as the consequence of aflatoxin contamination in foods and feeds. Garlic (Allium sativum Linn.), a natural spice known to reduce the toxicity of aflatoxins in poultry. Twenty five laying hens were used to study the effectiveness of garlic extract in reducing aflatoxicosis. The animals were divided into 5 groups i.e (1) control group, (2) group treated with 0.4 mg/kg BH, (3) group treated with 0.4 mg/kg BH and 4% garlic extract in feed, (4) group treated with 5 mg/kg BH, and (5) group treated with 5.0 mg/kg BH and 4% garlic extract in feed. Body weight gains, eggs production, and the activity of glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase (GOT), glutamate pyruvate transaminase (GPT), and γ-glutamytransferase (γ- GT) enzymes were observed every week. The residue levels of the aflatoxin and metabolites were measured in the eggs using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The results indicated that group treated with 0.4 mg AFB1/kg BH dan 5.0 mg AFB1/kg BH resulted in decreasing body weight gains, egg production, and increasing the level of GOT, GPT and γ-GT. The addition of 4% garlic extract in the feed was effective to improve the body weight gain and egg production only in the group of chicken treated with 0.4 mg AFB1/kg BH. However, it decreased the enzymes activities of the GOT, GPT, and γ-GT, as well as reduced the aflatoxin residues and metabolites in the groups at both aflatoxin levels (0.4 and 5.0 mg/kg BH). Aflatoxin residues decreased up to 42.2% for the group treated with the low dose of AFB1 (0.4 mg/kg) and 49.0% for the group treated with the high dose of AFB1 (5 mg/kg).   Key words: Garlic, aflatoxicosis, laying hens, aflatoxin residues

Abstract

Hygiene diartikan sebagai ilmu yg berkenaan dengan masalah kesehatan dan berbagai usaha untuk mempertahankan atau memperbaiki kesehatan.kebersihan lingkungan merupakan salah satu faktor yang sangat mempengaruhi tingkat kesehatan bagi lingkungan dan individu. Pemahaman tentang hygiene masih dikategorikan cukup, hal ini dapat terlihat dari kebiasaan anak-anak yang selalu membuang sampai sembarangan. Tujuan kegiatan ini ialah untuk memberikan pemahaman terhadap pentingnya menjaga kesehatan dan mendeteksi tingkat kebersihan terhadap siswa-sekolah menengah atas. Metode yang digunakan ialah berupa pemantauan kebersihan lingkungan dan penyuluhan. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa lingkungan sekolah menengah atas sudah masuk dalam kategori cukup bersih namun ada beberapa hal yang harus dibenahi yakni pengetahuan terhadap pentingnya menjaga kesehatan serta dampak yang akan diperoleh jika tidak bisa mengendalikan kebersihan secara berkesinambungan.

Abstract

ABSTRAKSalah satu aspek yang mempengaruhi hasil belajar di SD Muhammadiyah 8 adalah metode-model pembelajaran yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Inovasi dan penerapannya dalam pembelajaran dapat meningkatkan perhatin dan konsentrasi siswa. Abstract

Penyakit cacingan masih menjadi permasalahan kesehatan masyarakat di Indonesia terutama pada daerah dengan sanitasi yang buruk. Prevalensi cacingan paling tinggi terjadi pada anak usia sekolah dasar. Infeksi cacing dapat menyebabkan gangguan pencernaan dan penyerapan nutrisi yang berakibat terganggunya konsentrasi belajar dan pertumbuhan anak.  Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah murid Sekolah Dasar SDN 071 Pekanbaru kelas 1 dan 2 yang berumur antara 6-8 tahun, diharapkan anak mampu menerapkan kebersihan diri sedini mungkin dan menjadikan suatu kebiasaan. Anak-anak yang menjadi sasaran juga diharapkan dapat menularkan sikap hidup bersih kepada lingkungan sekitarnya. Metode kegiatan pengabdian yang telah dilakukan, pada tahap pertama dilakukan kegiatan pendekatan terhadap anak dan pemeriksaan cacingan pada anak.hasil dari pengabdian ini dari 30 sampel yang dilakukan  terdapat anak yang terinfeksi cacingan sebanyak satu orang . Kesimpulannya masih ada anak sekolah yang tidak menjaga kebersihan diri dan harus meningkatkan kebersihan dirinya. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi dukungan serta bimbingan kepada siswa/i SD bagaimana cara mencegah penyakit cacingan.
