Abstract

Perairan Labuhan Terata, Sumbawa, Nusa Tenggara Barat merupakan perairan yang sangat penting keberadaannya bagi masyarakat Labuhan Terata karena peran pentingnya sebagai daerah perikanan terutama dalam budidaya rumput laut, namun kajian daya dukung dan kesesuaian lahan perairan bagi pengembangan budidaya rumput laut masih belum banyak diketahui. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui daya dukung dan kesesuaian lahan perairan untuk pengembangan budidaya rumput laut. Penelitian ini telah dilakukan pada bulan Mei sampai Juni 2015. Data Arus, suhu, pH, kecerahan, oksigen terlarut, salinitas, nitrat dan fosfat diambil dari permukaan perairan pada lima stasiun pengamatan. Suhu perairan diukur dengan thermometer Hg, oksigen terlarut dengan menggunakan DO meter, pH perairan dengan pH meter, nitrat dan fosfat dianalisis dengan metode spektrofotometri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai kesesuaian lahan ke?lima stasiun berada dalam kategori sesuai bersyarat. The research objective was to assess carrying capacity and site suistability in the Labuhan Terata waters at transititions season. This research have been carried out in Mey to June 2015. Current, brightness, temperature, dissolved oxygen (O2), acidity (pH), salinity, phosphate and nitrate parameters was measured directly from a layer surface at five research stations. The degree of temperature was measured thermometer Hg, acidity (pH) was measured with pH meter, dissolved okxygen was measured dissolved oxygen meter (DO meters), measurement of nutriens (phosphate & nitrate) concentration used spectrophotometri method. The result of the analysis showed that the value of site suitability of the five stations are in the category conditional suitable. Abstract

Padina australis is one of brown seaweed which mostly found in Sumbawa coastalarea. This seaweed has a potential as a raw material for alginate. We examinedabundance, biomass and alginate content of P. australis. Data were collectedmonthly from October 2012 to January 2013. Sampling was located in the aquaticof Sumbawa Regency by the number of stations is 3 stations. Station 1 was locatedin the aquatic of Labuhan Badas District, stations 2 and 3 were in the aquatic ofBungin Island. The highest value of biomass were found on May in station 1(33.98 g wet weight/m2) and the lowest values on station2 (3.12 g wet weight/m2).Alginate content showed the highest value of 6.65% on May in station 1 and thelowest value of 3.08% on July in station 2. The results showed that biomass andalginate contents of P. australis significantly influenced by interaction of physicaland chemical enviromental factors. P. australis grew in station 1 on May had thehighest biomass and alginate contents with characteristics of physical andchemical enviromental were hard substrate, current 0.40 m s-1, pH 8, temperature32°C and salinity 32 psu.

Abstract

Agar Maju and Balong Ate group is two of five groups of seaweed farmers at Labuhan Sangoro Village facing shortage of seeds quantitatively qualitatively. The project purpose seaweed seedling management then community assistance and training carried out from AprilNovember 2016. The results obtained indicate that the Balong Ate and Agar Maju group has know of management of seaweed seed garden. Amount of the seaweed seed garden of each group is 40 x 40 m with tightrope number is 20 and each strap are 200 clumps. Observation of seaweed growth rate indicates that the seaweed has a very good growth rate with growth rate 3.21 g/day.

Abstract

Labuhan Terata Waters, Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara is one of the waters are very important for Labuhan Terata peoples because function for fisheries, but asses water quality especially transitions season is minus. The research objective was to assess physics and chemist parametric in the Labuhan Terata waters at transitions season. Oceanographic research in the Labuhan Terata waters have been carried out in May to June 2015. Current, brightness, temperature, dissolved oxygen (O2), acidity (pH), salinity, phosphate and nitrate parameters was measured directly from a layer surface at five research stations. The degree of temperature was measured thermometer Hg, acidity (pH) was measured with pH meter, dissolved oxygen was measured dissolved oxygen meter (DO meters), measurement of nutrients (phosphate and nitrate) concentration used spectrophotometry method. Result of the analysis showed that Labuhan Terata waters has current range from 0.39–0.93 m.dt-1, temperature of 28.50–30.00 °C, brightness 4.00–6.55 m, salinity of 30.50–31.33 psu, dissolved oxygen of 10.40-12.83 mg.L-1, pH of 8.04 – 8.70, phosphate of 0.05 – 0.75 mg.L-1 and nitrate 2.83 – 4.50 mg.L-1.

Abstract

One of the efforts of farmers to improve their production is through the cultivation of single sex populations (monosex) male. Honey is a natural ingredient that contains crysin and aromatase inhibitors that play a role in the process of mas-culinization of fish. This study aimed to determine the effect of immersion larvae of tilapia Oreochromis niloticus (L) on media containing multiple doses of sumbawa honey against sex ratio, growth and growth rate. The experimental method with a completely randomized design was used. The amount of treatment used in this study was four treatments (0 ml L-1, L-1 10 ml L-1, 20 ml L-1, and 30 ml L-1) with three replications. Each treatment consisting of 30 fish. Immersions of larvae for 12 hours. To determine the effect of a dose of honey sumbawa to all parameters, ANOVA (analysis of variance) at the level of 95% was performed. The results showed that differences in honey doses given in the immersion process did not have a significant effect on the sex ratio and growth of tilapia. AbstrakSalah satu usaha pembudidaya dalam meningkatkan produksi adalah dengan cara memelihara populasi tunggal kelamin (monoseks) jantan. Madu merupakan salah satu bahan alami yang mengandung crysin dan penghambat aromatase ber-peran dalam proses pemaskulinan ikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh perendaman larva ikan nila Oreochromis niloticus (L) dalam media pemeliharaan yang mengandung beberapa dosis madu sumbawa terhadap nisbah kelamin, pertumbuhan, dan laju pertumbuhan. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen Rancangan Acak Leng-kap satu faktor, dengan perlakuan dosis madu sumbawa (0 ml L-1, 10 ml L-1, 20 ml L-1, dan 30 ml L"1). Larva ikan nila direndam pada masing-masing perlakuan selama 12 jam dan tiap perlakuan memiliki tiga ulangan dengan 30 ekor ikan pada tiap perlakuan. Untuk menentukan adanya pengaruh dosis madu sumbawa terhadap keseluruhan parameter pene-litian, dilakukan analisis dengan menggunakan ANOVA (analysis of variance) pada taraf kepercayaan 95%. Hasil pe-nelitian menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan dosis madu yang diberikan dalam proses perendamann tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap nisbah kelamin ikan dan pertumbuhan ikan nila.

Abstract

The aims of the present paper were to evaluate the potential impacts of climate change on reproduction of crustacea. Climate change has given an impact on water quality, especially temperature changes and pH reduction. The increase in temperature due to climate change was expected affect on reproductive of crustacea including the sex ratio atio, reproductive cycle, gametogenesis and increased enhancement effects of pesticides that can interfere with reproduction of Crustacea. This paper provides the impact of climate changes on the productive of crustacea the important aqauatic organism on the food chains.

Abstract

Kramat, Bedil, and Temudong (KBT) islands are watershed conservation areas located in Sumbawa Regency precisely in Labuhan Bajo Village. The main problem is the prohibition of fishing in some conservation zones, thereby reducing the area of fishing. Reduced of catchment area directly affects the decrease in catches and community income. Therefore, as an effort to overcome these problems, it is necessary to optimize the utilization of other zones in the conservation area. Sustainable fisheries zones and tourism zones are zones that have not been optimally utilized. This zones has the potential for ecotourism and seaweed cultivation, but most people do not have the knowledge and skills in the development of ecotourism and seaweed cultivation. The program aims to train and assist the community in integrating ecotourism with seaweed cultivation in sustainable fisheries zones, so that it can be an alternative livelihood for the local community. the program has outcomes that consist of: the availability of alternative livelihoods for people in conservation areas based on the integration of ecotourism and seaweed cultivation, increasing community income, and building positive community perceptions for conservation activities. The method used is counseling, training and mentoring on the development of marine ecotourism and Eucheuma cottonii seaweed cultivation in the sustainable fishing zone. The results of this activity are the development of marine ecotourism in the KBT MPA as evidenced by an increase in the number of visitors (tourists) three times more than before, the availability of alternative livelihoods of the community through boat rentals and increased knowledge and skills of the community in seaweed cultivation.

Abstract

AbstractThe exploitation of sandfish (Holuthuria scabra) in Saleh Bay is so far not well managed. Consequently, over-fishing and species extinction of sea cucumbers emerge. Currently, information related to the supply of sandfish (H. scabra) is very limited. The purpose of this research was to investigate the stock status of sandfish (H. scabra) based on the fishermen?s perception and fish capture information. This research was carried out in the Saleh Bay coast, Sumbawa District, West Nusa Tenggara. The method used was a semi-closed interviews with the scope of fishermen?s demography, methods, efforts and catches, and fishermen?s perception of the stock condition, conducted by a total of 39 respondents. The result of this research showed that sea cucumber fishermen consisted of male and female with a ratio of 46 : 54, age ranged between 26-59 years old, all were married; education level between unschooled to senior high school; fishermen were from Bajo tribe (37%), Bugis (25%), Samawa (5%) and Mandar (33%). Sea cucumbers were caught by hands for 5-6 weeks (1-4 hours per day), CPUE ranges between 2 to 25 kg (wet weight). The main reason for capturing sea cucumber was because of the ease of method (97%). 84% of the fishermen stated that sea cucumber stock in Saleh Bay declined. The research cocluded the fishermen on Saleh Bay assumed that sandfish (H. scabra) had decreased in stock.AbstrakEksploitasi teripang pasir (Holuthuria scabra) di perairan Teluk Saleh terus dilakukan tanpa adanya pengelolaan sehingga memacu terjadinya kelebihan tangkap dan bahkan bisa menyebabkan kepunahan spesies teripang pasir. Kurangnya ketersediaan informasi dan data terkait stok menyebabkan sulitnya pengelolaan teripang pasir (H. scabra) di perairan Teluk Saleh ke depannya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui staus stok teripang pasir (H. scabra) berdasarkan persepsi nelayan dan gambaran hasil tangkapan. Lokasi penelitian yaitu di pesisir wilayah perairan Teluk Saleh, Kabupaten Sumbawa, Nusa Tenggara Barat. Metode yang digunakan ialah wawancara semi tertutup dengan menggunakan kuesioner. Aspek yang dikaji dalam wawancara terdiri dari : 1) demografis nelayan; 2) metode, upaya dan hasil tangkap serta 3) persepsi nelayan terhadap kondisi stok. Responden dalam penelitian ini ialah nelayan penangkap teripang yang berada di pesisir Teluk Saleh. Jumlah responden adalah 39 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penangkap teripang pasir terdiri dari laki-laki dan perempuan dengan rasio 46 : 54%, usia berkisar antara 26-59 tahun, nelayan berstatus telah menikah, tingkat pendidikan nelayan mulai dari tidak bersekolah hingga SMU, nelayan berasal dari suku Bajo (37%), Bugis (25%), Samawa (5%) dan Mandar (33%). Penangkapan teripang dilakukan menggunakan tangan, penangkapan dilakukan 5-6 minggu-1 (1?4 jam hari-1), CPUE ialah 2 hingga 25 kg (berat basah), alasan utama nelayan (97%) menangkap teripang pasir adalah kemudahan metode penangkapan, 84% nelayan menyatakan bahwa stok teripang pasir di Teluk Saleh mengalami penurunan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ialah sebagian besar nelayan Teluk Saleh menganggap bahwa teripang pasir (H. scabra) telah mengalami penurunan stok.
