Abstract

Salah satu strategi dalam upaya rehabilitasi hutan lindung adalah pemilihan jenis Hasil Hutan Bukan Kayu (HHBK) yang tepat. Selain sesuai dengan lokasi yang akan direhabilitasi, jenis HHBK yang dipilih juga harus mempunyai potensi manfaat secara ekologi sehingga fungsi pokok hutan lindung terjaga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan analisis pemilihan jenis-jenis HHBK potensial dalam rangka rehabilitasi hutan lindung dengan mengambil studi kasus di hutan lindung KPHL Rinjani Barat, Nusa Tenggara Barat. Penelitian terdiri dari tiga tahap yaitu persiapan (pengumpulan data pendukung dan desk study), pengamatan lapangan (biofisik dan sistem perakaran jenis HHBK), dan analisis data (kesesuaian jenis, nilai Indeks Jangkar Akar dan Indeks Cengkeram Akar). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemilihan jenis HHBK potensial dapat didasarkan pada tingkat kesesuaian jenis di kawasan yang akan direhabilitasi dan potensi sistem perakarannya dalam mencegah longsor dan erosi. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh jenis HHBK yang potensial dikembangkan dalam kerangka rehabilitasi hutan lindung di KPHL Rinjani Barat adalah jenis HHBK penghasil buah seperti durian, mangga, manggis, sukun, alpukat, sawo, dan kemiri. Jenis HHBK sebagai sumber bahan bakar nabati yaitu nyamplung dan penghasil minyak atsiri yaitu kayu putih. Beberapa faktor pembatas yang perlu diperhatikan dalam pengembangan jenis potensial tersebut adalah kemiringan lereng yang curam, tanah dengan tekstur didominasi fraksi pasir dan rendahnya unsur hara, serta iklim berupa bulan kering yang cukup panjang. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengurangi dampak faktor pembatas ini adalah penerapan teknik konservasi tanah air, pemanfaatan pupuk organik, dan pemanfaatan mikoriza.Kata kunci: HHBK, hutan lindung, rehabilitasi, sistem perakaran, Rinjani Barat Selection of Non-Timber Forest Products  species for protected forest rehabilitation (Case study in protected forest of Rinjani Barat Forest Management Unit, West Nusa Tenggara ProvinceAbstractOne of the strategies in protected forest rehabilitation is selecting proper Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs) species. The selected NTFPs species should have an ecological function to maintain the sustainability of protected forest services. The research aimed to conduct an analysis of NTFPs selection in protected forest rehabilitation framework. The study was located in Rinjani Barat Forest Management Unit (FMU), West Nusa Tenggara Province. The research consisted of three steps, which were preparation (collecting supported data and desk study), field observation (biophysics and root characteristics of NTFPs), and data analysis (species suitability, Index Root Anchoring, and Index Root Binding). The result of the research showed that selection of NTFPs potentials could be based on suitability level in rehabilitation site and roots system prospects, especially in landslide and erosion control. The selected NTFPs species, which were suitable for protected forest rehabilitation in Rinjani Barat FMU, were fruit species such as Durio zibethinus, Mangifera indica, Garcinia mangostana, Arthocarpus altilis, Persea americana, Achras zapota, and Aleuritas moluccana; source of biofuel species such as Callophylum inophylum; and source of essential oil species such as Melaleuca leucadendron. There were some constrain factors in the utilization of the NTFPs species for protected forest rehabilitation, including steep slope, soil texture dominated by sand fraction, low soil nutrients, and long period of dry month. These constrain factors could be minimized by implementing soil conservation techniques and utilizing of organic fertilizer and mychorriza.

Abstract

Euchresta horsfieldii merupakan tanaman obat yang dikenal di Nusa Tenggara Barat dan Bali sebagai pranajiwa. Pada penelitian ini telah dilakukan analisis fitokimia dan aktivitas antibakteri dari akar, batang, daun, dan biji pranajiwa. Pengujian aktivitas antibakteri dilakukan terhadap bakteri Bacilus subtilis Inacc-B334, Staphylococccus aureus Inacc-B4, dan Escherchia coli Inacc-B5. Hasil analisis fitokimia menunjukkan bahwa alkaloid sebagai komponen senyawa yang paling dominan pada pranajiwa dan terdeteksi di setiap bagian tanaman. Bagian akar pranajiwa terdeteksi memiliki komponen senyawa yang paling bervariasi seperti alkaloid, tanin, flavonoid, saponin, dan terpenoid. Analisis GC-MS dari batang, akar, dan biji pranajiwa menunjukkan mome inositol, sophoridane, dan asam lemak seperti asam palmitat dan asam stearat sebagai komponen utamanya. Adapun uji aktivitas antibakteri pranajiwa menunjukkan bagian batang dan akar memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap S. aureus Inacc-B4 dan E. coli Inacc B-5, sedangkan bagian biji memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap B. subtilis Inacc-B-334 dan S. aureus Inacc-B4. Hasil-hasil penelitian tersebut dapat mendukung penelitian terkait potensi E. horsfieldii sebagai sumber alternatif obat antibakteri. Phytochemical Test and Antibacterial Activity of Pranawija (Euchresta horsfieldii (Lesch.) Benn.)AbstractEuchresta horsfieldii is a medicinal plant known in West Nusa Tenggara and Bali as pranajiwa. This study investigated phytochemical analysis and antibacterial activity of roots, stems, leaves, and seeds of E. horsfieldii. The samples were analyzed for their antibacterial activity against Bacilus subtilis Inacc-B334, Staphylococccus aureus Inacc-B4, and Escherchia coli Inacc-B5. The phytochemistry result indicated that alkaloids was the most dominant constituent of E. horsfieldii as it was detected in all parts of the plant. GC-MS analysis of the stems, roots, and seeds showed mome inositol, sophoridane, and fatty acids such as palmitic acid and strearic acid as the main components. The roots had the most varied constituents with detection of alkaloids, tannins, flavonoids, saponins, and terpenoids. Further, antibacterial activity assay showed that the stems and roots had antibacterial activity against S. aureus Inacc-B4 and E. coli Inacc B-5, whereas the seeds had antibacterial activity against B. subtilis Inacc-B-334 and S. aureus InaccB4. The result of the present study supports the investigation on potentiality of E. horsfieldii as alternative source for antibacterial agents.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengimplementasikan metode LSB dan EOF untuk menyisipkan pesan teks ke dalam citra grayscale. Hal ini diperlukan karena sering terjadi bahwa pesan teks yang dikirim merupakan suatu pesan rahasia yang tidak boleh diketahui sembarang orang. Dua metode yang dapat digunakan adalah Metode LSB dan metode EOF.Metode LSB bekerja dengan mengganti bit terakhir kode biner citra dengan kode biner pesan, sedangkan metode EOF bekerja dengan dengan menambahkan teks sebagai nilai derajat keabuan citra pada akhir citra. Kelebihan metode LSB adalah ukuran citra yang mengandung pesan tidak berubah, sedangkan kekurangannya adalah kapasitas pesan yang akan disisipkan terbatas. Sebaliknya metode EOF mempunyai kelebihan dapat menyisipkan pesan dalam jumlah yang tidak terbatas, sedangkan kekurangannya adalah kapasitas file citra akan bertambah. yang dapat. Alasan digunakannya citra grayscale adalah karena citra ini bentuk digital yang lebih sederhana dibandingkan dengan citra RGB.

Abstract

At the end of treatment with extraction, it is often found root paralleling problem on upper second insicive, lower premolar and adjacent teeth of extraction. This caused by failure of angulation correction on finishing stage. Objective : To describe whether any differences in angulation of teeth after treatment with extraction and without extraction of patients treated in Orthodontic Clinic, RSGM FKGUI. Material and methods : The angulation measurement is done by using Ursi methode on panoramic radigraphic. Result : Based on independent t test analysis, there were a significant differences (p<0.05) between tooth angulation after orthodontic treatment with extraction and without extraction on upper right second premolar and upper left canine, also on lower right canine and lower left second premolar, whereas there are no difference. Conclusion : It appeared that, tooth angulation after orthodontic treatment has a significant differences between extraction case and non extraction case (adjacent teeth of extraction). Panoramic radiograph required before finishing stage to evaluate tooth angulation and root parallelism for increase stability after orthodontic treatment.DOI: 10.14693/jdi.v16i1.16

Abstract

There are many controversial results concerning whether the intercanine could be change. The aims of this study was 1) to improve is the intercanine width will change during orthodontic treatment and 2) are ther correlation with the type of treatment. To test this hypothesis, study models of 79 patients with good condition were evaluated. This study was carried out in Orthodontic Clinic RSGM FKG – UI. The results showed that there is a significant changes in the upper and lower intercanine width in extraction group. On the other hand there was no significant changes in the upper and lower intercanine width in non extraction group.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate relapse on mandibular anterior teeth after orthodontic treatment using irregularity index. In total 44 subjects were included, 10 men and 34 women, aged 15 to 37 years. All patients wore Hawley retainers. The results showed that there were statistically significant differences between the values of irregularity index at the completion of orthodontic therapy (mean ii T2 = 0.57 mm) and in the retention periods (mean ii T3 = 2.36 mm). The changes of mandibular anterior teeth irregularity were in the minimal category for the majority of cases.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the pattern, mean and differences of measurements between men and women on vertical dentocraniofacial cephalometric values of open bite subjects with anterior tongue thrust. There were 27 subjects between ages of 12-28 years, 6 men and 21 women of which thirteen vertical dentocraniofacial variables were obtained from measurements taken from lateral cephalometrics; ANS-Me, N-Me, S-Go, CC-Go, SN-MP, N-ANS, PP-MP, Y-axis, UPDH, LPDH, ANS-UI, LI-MP and overbite. The means of values of ANS-Me, N-Me S-Go and CC-Go were compared with the norms based on Deuteromalay population and SN-MP, PP-MP, Y-axis UPDH, LPDH, ANS-UI, LI-MP with the norms based on Caucasian population. The obstacle of this study was the unavailable norms of vertical dentocraniofacial cephalometric for Deuteromalay population. Generally the pattern of vertical dentocraniofacial of open bite subjects with anterior tongue thrust shows the long face syndrome.

Abstract

In the last few years, people from various age group are looking for orthodontic treatment, among them are adult. Adult patients in comparison with children or adolescent, have different condition in regard to their teeth and periodontal tissue. These differences will affect treatment plan we are making for adult patients. Orthodontic treatment for adult patients requires the use of light force, bondable tube and ligature wire. Abstract

Class II division 1 malocclusions have many variation and treatment options. Choosing the right treatment begins with a correct diagnosis. The aim of this article is to describe treatment of Class II division 1 malocclusion in a growing patient using combined cervical headgear and non-extraction fixed orthodontic therapy. Class I molar and canine relationship was achieved with normal overbite and overjet. There is improvement in jaw relationship and facial profile. This correction was achieved by downward displacement and inhibition of the forward growth of maxilla with favorable growth of mandible, upper molar distalization and retraction of upper incisors from cervical headgear use. There was neither downward rotation of the mandible nor maxillary first molar extrusion. Treatment time, favorable mandibular growth pattern and patient compliance proved to be determining factors in the success of this treatment.DOI: 10.14693/jdi.v16i3.106

Abstract

Early correction procedure frequently used to overcome psycho and physical defects suffered from dental and skeletal disharmonies. THe early correction procedures regarded as an Interceptive Orthodontic due to its advantages such as better efficiency in active treatment, prevent relapse and minimize painful during treatment. Many types of malocclusion e.g. cross bite, mandibular prognathism or retrognathism and malocclusion on cleft lip and palate patients should be treated earlier through this procedure. The aim of this paper is to reveal the importance of Interceptive Orthodontics in treating sagital anomalies.
