Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the behavior patterns of female hens and chicks (Gallus gallus-domesticus) in the natural environment. This type of research is descriptive exportative observing patterns of interaction between hens and chicks for 3 days in the morning, afternoon and evening. The study uses ad libitum sampling method. The tools used in the form of cameras and stationery while the materials needed are female hens and 3 chicks. Data was collected by means of observation using observation sheets and documentation tools. Data analysis using descriptive analysis techniques that describe the behavior patterns between the hen with the chick that appears during observation. the results of the study show what the behavior of the mother chickens and their offspring were interacting with. The most common behavior was to look for food, eat and drink, pay attention from the mother to the chicks, and ask for attention from the child to the mother hen. A step that was rarely seen was fighting, avoiding and sleeping.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini dilaksanakan dalam bentuk pelatihan penyusunan proposal PTK bagi guru-guru SMA di Kecamatan Gubug, Kabupaten Grobogan yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan profesionalisme guru dalam menyusun proposal PTK yang nantinya berguna bagi guru tersebut untuk mengembangkan kinerjanya melalui pelaksanaan PTK. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini telah dilaksanakan pada hari Rabu, 5 Februari dan 7 Februari 2014 dalam bentuk pelatihan penyusunan proposal PTK, yang bertempat di SMA N 1 Gubug, Grobogan. Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan kegiatan pembimbingan secara individu melalui media online tanggal 10-15 Februari 2014 dengan alokasi waktu 12 jam. Selanjutnya adalah kegiatan pembimbingan evaluasi proposal melalui media online dengan alokasi waktu 12 jam pada minggu ketiga. Jumlah peserta pelatihan adalah 20 guru dari beberapa mata pelajaran yang berbeda yang berasal dari SMA N 1 Gubug, Grobogan. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah ceramah, tanya jawab, pelatihan, dan diakhiri dengan penugasan menyusun proposal PTK. Hasil dari kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini adalah peserta mampu menyusun proposal PTK yang sebelumnya diawali dengan pelatihan penyusunan proposal PTK, kemudian pembimbingan secara individual. Abstract

This paper presents the result of a small-scale research which was aimed to find out a model of incorporating character values in English classroom of elementary schools. The government is now campaigning character education that should be incorporated in all subjects through direct and indirect teaching. For subjects such as English, character values need not be taught directly in class, but they are infused during the prosess of teaching and learning.  The question arose among the teachers is how to incorporate character values in the subjects of which content is not particularly set to teaching moral values. The proposed model in this study is by using mini drama performance. The research took place at 4 elementary schools (ES) in Semarang municipality, consisting of 3 public schools and 1 private school. The data were collected from observation and interview with the teachers. The field notes and the results of interview were analyzed descriptively to to portray the existing model of teaching English in general, and teaching character values in particular.

Abstract

AbstrakPerawat merupakan petugas kesehatan yang mempunyai peran dominan dalam membantu pasien sembuh dari penyakit yang dideritanya. Terkait dengan budaya perawat perlu mengetahui dan menilai keanekaragaman budaya, mempunyai kapasitas untuk mengkaji budaya, menyadari bahwa budaya bersifat dinamis dan mempunyai adaptasi yang terus menerus dikembangkan dalam upaya mereÀ eksikan dan memahami keanekaragaman budaya. JIH, merupakan salah satu rumah sakit internasional yang memiliki knsumen dari berbagai ragam latar budaya. Oleh karenanya perlu kiranya diketahui bagaimana pendekatan budaya yang dilakukan perawat di rumah sakit tersebut. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pendekatan cultural dalam praktek keperawatan professional. Metode kualitatif dengan 18 narasumber yang diambil secara purposive sampling. Analisa data dilakukan dengan model miles dan Huberman, yang meliputi data reduksi, penyajian dan konklusion. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perawat perlu mempunyai pengetahuan tentang budaya dalam memberikan asuhan keperawatan. Perawat bersikap positif dalam menghadapi perbedaan budaya. Perawat akan membiarkan bila tidak mempengaruhi kesehatan, bernegosiasi atau bahkan akan melarang bila mengganggu kesehatan atau dilarang dokter. Hambatan yang sering ditemukan adalah dalam hal komunikasi dan pendekatan budaya dalam praktek keperawatan profesional dilakukan melalui identi¿ kasi, analisa situasi, menyusun strategi dan mengevaluasiKata Kunci: budaya, praktek keperawatan profesional.AbstractNurses are health professional who have dominant role to help client for healing the deseas. In relating to the culture, they must understand and valuing cul tural diversity background , have capability to asess cultural and aware that cultur is dinamic. Furthermore, nurses must adapt continuesly in order to reÀ ect and understand about cultural diversity. Jogja International Hospital is a international hospital that has consuments with many and different cultural background. So, it is important for understanding how implementing a culturral in professional nursing practice. The purpose of the study is for describing implemetation of cultur in professional nursing practice. The qualitative research with 18 sample is designed to answer the purpose of study. Analize of data is using Mile and Huberman’s model, The results show that Nurses need to knowledge of other culture inorder to provide professional nursing practice. Nurses also should think positively when they care client with different culture group.Nurse  will maintenance the culture when it is not inÀ uence the client’s health, or negotiating event they will probihited when the cultur will inÀ uence the health status. The barrier during work with client in different cultur background was communication and language. Professional Nursing Practice with cultur was conducted via cultur identi¿ cation, analizing of situation , making intervention and evaluation.Key words: Culture, proffessional nursing practice.

Abstract

Permasalahan penelitian ini adalah: 1) bagaimanakah pelaksanan KBK dan KTSP SMP di Kota Semarang pada tahun pelajaran 2007/2008? 2) apakah pelaksanan KBK dan KTSP SMP di Kota Semarang pada tahun pelajaran 2007/2008 telah mencapai tujuan yang sudah di tetapkan? c) bagaimanakah model pengembangan kurikulum yang baik yang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dan dapat meningkatkan persentase kelulusan pada ujian nasional? Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan gambaran secara obyektif tentang pelaksanaan KBK dan KTSP SMP di Kota Semarang pada tahun pelajaran 2007/2008, mengetahui efektivitas penerapan KBK dan KTSP SMP di Kota Semarang pada tahun pelajaran 2007/2008, mengetahui tingkat hasil belajar siswa SMP di Kota Semarang pada tahun pelajaran 2007/2008. Metode penelitian ini adalah menggunakan model evaluasi dengan pendekatan yaitu: (1) pendekatan penelitian (analisis komparatif); (2) pendekatan obyektif; dan (3) pendekatan campuran multivariasi. Selain itu, dengan bertitik tolak pada pada pandangan bahwa keberhasilan progran pendidikan dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, seperti: karakteristik peserta didik dan lingkungan, tujuan program dan peralatan yang digunakan, prosedur dan mekanisme pelaksanaan program itu sendiri, dan dilengkapi dengan penggunaan model CIPP (Context, Input, Process dan Product). Pada dasarnya pelaksanaan KBK dan KTSP tahun 2007/2008 di SMP 2 Semarang, SMP 37 Semarang, SMP Theresiana I Semarang, dan SMP Gergaji Semarang sudah sangat baik. Guru dan Kepala Sekolah telah menjalankan tugasnya masing-masing dengan baik yang terbukti dengan hasil jawaban yang positif disamping adanya kendala/ hambatan saat pembelajaran yang secara umum disebabkan oleh sarana dan prasarana serta perbedaan karakteristik pada diri siswa. Pelaksanaan KBK tahun 2007/2008 di SMP 2 Semarang, SMP 37 Semarang, SMP Theresiana I Semarang, dan SMP Gergaji Semarang secara umum telah mencapai tujuan yang diharapkan, akan tetapi pelaksanaan KTSP tahun 2007/2008 di sekolah-sekolah tersebut masih membutuhkan perhatian yang serius.Pengembangan kurikulum yang baik yang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar dan persentase kelulusan siswa sebaiknya disusun bersama-sama tidak hanya dari pihak sekolah (Guru, Kepala Sekolah) tetapi juga masyarakat pengguna, dilakukan secara berkelanjutan dengan memperhatikan masukan hasil evaluasi belajar, evaluasi proses dan evaluasi rensana pembelajaran, dibuat dengan menyediakan jenis-jenis mata pelajaran wajib yang bersifat mendasari untuk dimiliki oleh setiap siswa, dan mata pelajaran yang ditentukan berdsarkan kebutuhan dan bakat siswa. ?é?á Kata kunci : kurikulum, evaluasi, KBK, KTSP

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was conducted based on the fact indicating that the students’ understanding of mathematic concept was still low, the students can’t give information with another students. The aim of this research was to improve the students’ understanding of mathematic concept by using chained-greeting and question technique accompanied with two stay two stray technique in class VIII of SMPN 11 Padang. This was an experimental research whose sample was chosen by random. The instruments of the research was a test on the students’ understanding on mathematic  concept. The result of the research revealed that after the strategy applied, their understanding on mathematic  concept was not better than that of students treating by using conventional learning strategy. This could be seen from the t-value is 0,829 which was smaller than t = 1,669. Thus it was concluded that the use of chained-greeting and question technique accompanied with two stay two stray technique could improve the students understanding of mathematic concept not better than that of the conventional learning.

Abstract

Universitas PGRI Semarang has integrated character education into the fabric of its academic and non-academic activities. It has consciously set about creating a moral climate within universitys fourth pillar of Catur Dharma/ Modeling. Dynamic monitoring and evaluation system for character education is impetus in order to adequately meet the demands of recommended core values: personal and social awareness, self-management, and social skill.Though its slogan and core values are in the domain of character education, its monitoring, evaluation, and assessment have not integrated one and another yet.Thus, it is pertinent to conduct a research for desiging an effective model of monitoring and evaluation of character education.The study used three stages of R & D research method: desiging, revising,and field testing. Expert validation scores had gained 83.35 % while professional validation was 84.5%. It means the model both theoretically and practically is appropriate for evaluation of characters education. The results indicated that to be fully effective and ongoing of the program, integrated monitoring, measuring, and assessing system should be in conjunction with monitoring evaluation design, its implementation as well as its instruments. The study recommends the university and other institutions have to transfer this conceptual model into an implementation model in which character education functions harmonically and in a coordinated manner to provide effective and efficient results.

Abstract

Abstract Background: AMI is a myocardial necrosis caused by inadequate blood supply.The cardiac muscle contractility has very important role in pumping blood. Contraction of the heart in pumping blood is regulated by cardiac action potential,such as role is sodium (Na +) and potassium (K +). AMI is a myocardial necrosis caused by inadequate blood supply. Objective of this research to describe the serum electrolytes such as sodium (Na +) and potassium (K +) in patients with AMI who undergoes treatment in ICVCU of Regional General Hospital Dr. Moewardi Surakarta in 2016.Reasearch Methods: This research uses descriptive research. The subject of this research is the patients who is treated in ICVCU of Dr. Moewardi hospital with Acute Myocardial Infarction a number of 57 respondents. The researh was conducted in two months. The sampling techniques is by total sampling. The data collection method uses observation technique. Results: The average of AMI respondents are 41-60 years old in which as much as 57.9%, male respondents are as much as 75.4%, the highest classification of AMI STEMI are 75.4%, the majority of respondents whose the results of sodium levels are in <136 mmol / L (low) are 71.9%, the result of potassium levels which are between 3.3 to 5.1 mmol / L (normal) are 82.5%. Conclusion: Average AMI patients are 41-60 years, the majority of respondents is male with the highestclassification of AMI STEMI and have the level of sodium is <136 mmol / L (low)

Abstract

Abstract Background : Asthma is a worldwide health problem. People with asthma in the world today was estimated at 300 million peoples, and expected in 2025 reached 400 million peoples. In Indonesia, there were currently about 12.5 million peoples. In BBKPM Makassar, the number of people with asthma who visit in 2009 were 291 patients, in 2010 to 292 patients, and in 2011 starting from January to November, as 243 patients. It shows the number of people with asthma who visit the BBKPM Makassar each month has increased. Therapy of asthma treatment often used was nebulizer using combivent and bisolvon. Purpose this study to determine the effectiveness of provision nebulizer of combivent and bisolvon therapy to airway patency in asthma bronchial patient at ER of BBKPM Makassar. Method: used was quase experimental with two groups pretest and posttest design. Sample of 40 patients who met the criteria were randomly selected to be divided into two groups, 20 samples for nebulizer of combivent therapy, and 20 samples for nebulizer of bisolvon therapy. Method: Technique of data analysis used was paired t test. the Research result conducted on two groups of respondents, obtained t count value frequency of respiratory and pulmonary physiology in the treatment group of nebulizer using combivent obtained t count of the frequency of respiratory physiology was 15.601 and pulmonary physiology was 23.083, while the treatment groups of nebulizer using bisolvon obtained t count value was 7.701 and pulmonary physiology was 12.606. Result: were both higher than the t table value 1.725 at significant level 95%. Conclusion: Provision nebulizer of combivent therapy provide greater effectiveness in reducing airway obstruction in asthma bronchial patients at ER ofBBKPM Makassar in 2012.

Abstract

Abstract: Self-Management Education, Hypoglycemia. Diabetes Mellitus is a metabolic disease that needs attention and care for a long time in order to prevent complications. People with DM must have good knowledge, skill, and behavior so they can manage their life by themselves. Research showed that 50?80%, people with DM have not enough knowledge to manage their disease. Through the self-management, people with diabetes can improve their competence in early detection of hypoglycemia so it would increase the quality of life and reduce the risk of developing complications. The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of diabetes self-management education toward early detection of hypoglycemia among patients with diabetes. A quasi-experimental pre and post design with a control group was used to investigate the impact of using education on self-management. The participants were 40 that divided into intervention and control group. Purposive sampling was used to take the samples. T-Test was used to analyze the data. The competence of diabetes in early detection of hypoglycemia was an increase, from 6,1 with SD 13.7 to 71,7 with SD 19.2. Then, the model of Self Management education influenced the competence of people with diabetes in the early detection of hypoglycemia, P value 0,011 (? = 0,05). The findings demonstrate that self-management education could improve the competence of diabetes in the early detection of hypoglycemia.
