Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to reveal the traditional musical inheritance system of talempong pacik by traditional artists from the village Pauh Kamang Mudiak. The type of research was qualitative research. The main instrument in the study was the researcher and it was assisted by supporting instruments such as stationery, photo and video camera. Techniques of data collection were carried out by doing observation, interview and literature study. The type of data were primary and secondary data. Techniques of analysis data were done by collecting, classifying and making data conclusions. The result shows that inheritance system of talempong pacik arts through training in one of the studios in the Pauh Kamang Mudiak village, where the inheritance of talempong pacikcould  can be learned by all the community of  Pauh Kamang Mudiak village. The inheritance process can also be carried out in a community and family environment where parents provide a direct introduction to their children toward talempong pacik arts which is held in the community environment through traditional arts performance events. In order that the inheritance process to run effectively, artists and teenagers arrange a good schedule for the training process so that the talempong pacik arts can develop and its preservation is maintained until the next generation. Keywords: system, inheritance, Talempong Pacik

Abstract

AbstractThis study was based on research finding that there were blind children who were talented in singing at SLB Wacana Asih Padang. Therefore, this study was done for the purpose of self-development activities of singing on blind children in SLB Wacana Asih Padang in order to expressed a description of actualizing, phenomenon background, social reality, and perceptions of research target. This study was classified as qualitative research which used descriptive approach. Instruments in this study were the researchers  Techniques of data collection were done by using observation, interview, documentation and libarary research. Result of this research showed that students could develop and express themeselves in distributing their interest and talent. In the purpose of its implementation psychologically, they were directed to have the confidence and bravery to speak and move, and have the feeling that they wereaqualwith the normal children. In the implementation ofself- development of singing, teachers should apply the method of imitation i.e. the way of presentation of lessons where teachers gave, so the students could practice and recite the words of the song lyric continuously. Keywords: Self-Development; Blind Children.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the learning conditions of Cultural Arts (Music) in Class VII of SMP Negeri 3 Lunang, South Coastal District, where the background of the problem is the implementation of the 2006 KTSP curriculum, and the problem of lack of learning activities and learning facilities. This type of research is qualitative research with a descriptive analysis approach. The object of this study is a cultural arts teacher who teaches in class VII of Lunang 3 Public Middle School, Pesisir Selatan District. Data is collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature. The results of the study indicate that the convergence of art and culture learning in SMP Negeri 3 Lunang, Pesisir Selatan District, which still applies KTSP, has raised various problems regarding the conditions of learning in the arts and culture. Teachers who often do not carry out learning, inappropriate music art subject matter, and inadequate learning facilities have caused the conditions of learning arts and culture in this school to experience shortcomings and in accordance with the expected targets.Keywords: Learning, Curriculum, Cultural Arts (Music)

Abstract

Abstract This article aimed to describe the implementation of singing learning on unisono by using a scientific approach in SMP Negeri 22 Padang. This research used descriptive qualitative method. The objects of this research were the art teacher of culture and students of class VII.2 which amounted to 30 students. Data collection was done by using literature study technique, observation, interview, and documentation. The results showed that the implementation of singing learning on unisono using scientific approach has not been done in accordance with the objective of the 2013 curriculum caused by several things: 1) the unbalanced between the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects of the learning implementation plan designed by the teacher, 2) the implementation of learning not in accordance with the RPP and still the combination of the learning approach with the methods and learning strategies in the curriculum KTSP, 3) learning evaluation had not been seen in the learning process, the evaluation was only taken at the time of exercise or daily tasks, daily test, mid semester, and final examination, so students were less active, creative, and innovative in the learning process. Keywords: Singing Unisono, the Scientific Approach.

Abstract

Abstract The study was aimed to know the use of principles which were done by using expository strategy on Minangkabau traditional music in SMA Negeri 3 Padang. The study was classified in qualitative research with descriptive approach. Instrument of the study was the researcher and assisted by some tools such as stationery, camera and audio recorder. Technique of data collection were done by doing observation, interviews, library reserach and documentation. Results of the study showed that in curriculum 2013, expository learning strategy was still eligible to be used, if the teachers could meet the criteria of the strategy of expository and they did not only focus on methods lecture and dictation. Criteria which should be met were preparation before the study began and conveyed the purpose of the study. Then in the presentation, the teachers should paid attention to the use of language such as used variety in teaching, designed learning messages, kept the voice intonation and kept contact with the students so that the students could focus on the taught material. In SMA Negeri 3 Padang, the art and cultural teachers were lack of understanding to principles of the expository learning strategy, the teachers more focused on the lecture and dictation only. Keywords : Expository Strategy, learning, Traditional music

Abstract

Abstract This article aims to describe the Implementation of Singing Learning in Cultural Arts subjects at SMA Negeri 3 Kota Solok. Type of the research was qualitative research with descriptive analysis method. The object of research was teachers and 11th grade students of MIA 2. The main instrument in the research was the researcher and researcher was assisted with supporting instruments such as stationery and photo cameras. Data collection was done through observation, interviews, documentation and literature review. The steps taken in analyzing data were collecting data, identifying data, classifying data and describing data. The results showed that singing learning activities at SMA Negeri 3 Kota Solok ran smoothly but had not yet reached the KKM standard. It is caused by there were still many students who had not mastered intonation, articulation, frequency, breathing, posture, and expression. Thus, it could be concluded that students?s singing ability at SMA Negeri 3 Solok especially clss XI MIA 2 was not significantly improved since the students? participation was not yet maximal. Keywords: Learning, Singing, Art and Culture

Abstract

AbstractThis article aims to describe the implementation of learning singing in class VII.2 SMP Negeri 20 Padang. The type of research used qualitative research with descriptive method. The object of this research is the Implementation of Singing Lesson in class VII.2 SMP Negeri 20 Padang. The instruments of this study are self-research and researcher assisted with supported instruments such as observation records, interview and photo cameras. Technique of data collecting done by literature review, observation, interview and documentation. The type of data used in this research is primary and secondary data. The result of this research showed that the process of implementation of learning in SMP Negeri 20 Padang was good in singing because of the increasing of  student learning outcomes at the second meeting. The implementation plan of learning has been implemented well during the learning process and it took the time to achieve the learning maximally for practice of singing and also the teacher's knowledge on music theory. The learning of art and culture uses teacher-centered or an expository or spoken learning strategy that is accompanied by direct practice in the classroom. The ability to sing of the students on the song Bungo Parawitan in class VII.2 can be said good because the results obtained from the 30 students or 80% have achieved above average score.Keyword: learning, singing, vocal technique, learning outcomes

Abstract

Abstract This article aimed to: 1) describe and analyze the cultivation of character values in the learning of art and culture (music), 2) obstacles faced by teachers, 3) the efforts of teachers in facing the constraints of the character values in the learning of Cultural Arts (Music). The type of the research was a qualitative research with descriptive method. The objects of research were the students of class VII-4 and art and culture teacher of SMP Negeri 22 Padang. Instruments in this study were researcher and assisted with supporting instruments such as stationeries and camera photo. Data collection techniques of this research were literature study, interview, observation and documentation. The results showed that embedded values of character in the learning of art and culture, especially music in class VII.4, and a good impact in music art learning. The statement was evidenced by students able to have the character of cooperating, disciplined, religious, curiosity, and confidence. These character values were inherent in the learning objectives in the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. Keywords: Values of character, Learning, Cultural Art

Abstract

Abstract This article aims to describe the implementation of guided training on unisono choir extracurricular activities at SMK Negeri 3 Padang. This research was a qualitative research with descriptive analysis approach. The unisono choir extracurricular activities program with guided training are as follows: the teacher's first meeting explained the material about the choir and some choir concepts. In the second meeting, the teachers taught basic choir techniques exercises. At the third meeting, the teachers taught reading Indonesia Raya numeric notation by applying the techniques which were already learned previously. In the fourth meeting, teachers taught reading the lyrics of Indonesia Raya song. Then the fifth meeting was a combined performance. From the result of the research, it is found that the extracurricular activities of the choir at SMK Negeri 3 Padang with the implementation of guided training included sound production was more stable; when voicing intonation, either rhythmically or melody is appropriate. Students sang the phrase or sentence of the song (lyrics) has been good. The lyrical messages of the song were delivered or sung in clear, and the expression is much better. The technique used has begun perfectly because, in every meeting, the students were always practising the material that has been taught in the last week so that the ability of the sound more harmonious. Assessment techniques are performed.  Indicator assessed or which need to be improved is in terms of sound, harmonization and technique in singing. Keywords: Guided Exercise, Choir

Abstract

AbstractThis article aimed to describe the implementation of 2013 Curriculum in the Art and Culture subject at SMPN 2 Payakumbuh by investigating the teacher?s lesson plan and looking at how the learning process took place. This qualitative research were a teacher of the Art and Culture subject in class VII of SMP Negeri 2 Payakumbuh. The instrument of the research was the researcher herself, stationaries, a camera and mobile phones. The data collected were in the form of primary and secondary data. They were obtained through observation, interview, librabry study, and documentation study. Data analysis was done by classifying, displaying and describing the data and then drawing conclusions. The result of the research indicate that the Art and Culture teacher of SMP Negeri 2 Payakumbuh has worked hard to meet the target 0f 2013 curriculum and she has applied the curriculum in accordance with its guidelines. The implementation of the curriculum covers the plan and the learning process that relate to instructional materials, learning methods, learning strategies, media, and learning sources.Keywords: Implementation, 2013 Curriculum, Art and Culture
