Abstract

Blood Disease Bacteria is one obstacle in cultivation of bananas. BDB can be controlled using biological agents. Biological agents that can be used to control of blood diseases are Pseudomonad fluorescent and microorganisms in EM4. Pseudomonad fluorescent used as biological agents because of its ability to produce antimicrobial compounds such as siderophores, antibiotics, volatile and cyanide. other than that, the EM4 microorganisms can produce antimicrobial against several bacterial pathogens. This study aims to determine the effect of combination Pseudomonad fluorescent and EM4 to inhibit the growth of BDB in vitro. This research was conducted in January 2016 in the Laboratory of Microbiology Department of Biology FMIPA UNP. Research using a completely randomized design (RAL) with 6 treatments and 3 replications. The study treatment is a combination of Pseudomonads fluorescent and EM4. The observation was done by measuring the clear zone formed around the paper disc. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and the test of Duncan New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% level. The research proves that the combination resulted in inhibition zone around the paper disc. Inhibition zone shows that the combination inhibits the growth of BDB in vitro. Inhibition zone is formed as fluorescent Pseudomonads and microbes on EM4 produce secondary metabolites that can inhibit the growth of BDB.Key Word: Pseudomonad flourecent, BDB, EM4

Abstract

Geography and climate of Palu and Sigi Regency has been markedly suitable for dragon fruit supported by the available land in the areas.  Unfortunately, development of the commodity has been restricted by less available qualified seedlings and unskill farmers.  Dragon fruit seedling production can be achieved through cuttings and tissue culture acclimatized planlets.  This program aimed to transfer the technology on cultivation, seedling production through cuttings and tissue culture planlets of dragon fruit, which is turn can increase the income of the farmers.  The method used to solve the problems justified were:  extension, training and accompaniment on cultivation, seedling production through cuttings and tissue culture planlets acclimatized of dragon fruit.  The extension, training and accompaniment were conducted both in class and on farm.  The results of this program:  The farmers or the program partners understand and become skillful in:  dragon fruit cultivation; producing dragon fruit seedlings through cutting and tissue culture planlets acclimatized.  The farmers got more than 250 qualified seedlings from tissue culture propagation and 200 seedlings obtained from cuttings grown in a nursery, and the farmers have willingness to be nursery man.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aimed at obtaining high vigor of Kweni mango seeds. It was conducted in April to July 2017, at the Laboratory of Seed Technology and Academic Gardens of the Agriculture Faculty of Tadulako University, Palu.  It was carried out in two stages: the viability testing using a completely randomized design (RAL) in which the seeds were taken from different sources i.e. Ipi 1, Ipi 14 and Bente 8; and the vigor testing using a randomized block design (RAK) in which the seeds were grouped based on the height of the parent tree sources. At each stage of the experiment there were three treatments with six replicates.  The results of this study indicated that the seeds coming from the Ipi 1 source grew well under the viability and vigor tests, and it had the highest vigor.  Keyword : Mango, source of seed, viability, vigor.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kevigoran bibit kakao pada berbagai lama penyimpanan dan invigorasi benih. Penelitian ini disusun berdasarkan pola faktorial menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap, dengan 2 faktor.  Faktor pertama adalah lama penyimpanan benih yang terdiri dari lima taraf yaitu: 1) control , 2) lama simpan 2 minggu, 3) lama simpan 4 minggu,  4) lama simpan 6 minggu, 5) lama simpan 8 minggu. Faktor kedua adalah cara invigorasi benih dengan menggunakan ZPT yang terdiri dari empat macam yaitu: 1) tanpa ZPT, 2) 0,01 m mol GA3, 3) 0,01 m mol GA3 + 0,1 m mol NAA, 4) air kelapa.  Data yang diperoleh dianalisis ragam, data yang memiliki koefisien keragaman lebih dari 20% ditransformasikan ke ? x + 0,5  Sedangkan perlakuan yang berpengaruh nyata dilanjutkan dengan uji BNJ pada taraf  0,05.  Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa : Semakin lama benih disimpan menyebabkan vigor bibit juga semakin menurun.  Invigorasi dengan GA3 + NAA memberikan pengaruh yang lebih baik terhadap persentase  bibit vigor, tinggi bibit, jumlah daun dan indeks vigor hipotetik. Air kelapa dapat menjadi alternative cara invigorasi benih kakao yang telah mengalami kemunduran.

Abstract

The research aiming to invent, characterize, and identify the character varieties of cultivar cluster of glutinous maize at Mire, Watusongu, and Paranonge Villages of Ulubongka Subdistric Tojo Una-una Residence was conducted in January to March 2010. The research employs survey and observation where sample locations is based on information taken from Agriculture, Estate,  Animal Husbandry and Animal Healthy Agencies of Tojo Una-una Regency. Observation was focused on morphological characters such as plant weight, stem diameter, length and width of leaf flowering time, knob length, knob circle with and without seeds, length of stem stalk, number of seed per knob, number of seed rows per knob, number of seeds per row, length of seed row per knob, seed weight per knob, knob weight, weight of knob without seed, weight of 100 seeds, and number of seed colour. Cluster analysis was done further using SYSTAT 8,0 Software Program. The result shows that based on sub regency dendrogram there are six cultivar groups with genetic relationship, of each was represented by PR01 and PR04 from Paranonge Village, MR04, MR05 and MR01 from Mire Village, and WT04 from Watusongu Village as chosen cultivars at Ulubongka Subdistrict

Abstract

Penelitian yang bertujuan untuk menginventarisasi dan mengkarakterisasi kultivar  ?Jagung Ketan? serta mengidentifikasi keragaman karakter dari hasil pengelompokkan (cluster)  kultivar Jagung Ketan yang terdapat di Desa Pusungi, Uebone, dan Kajulangko Kecamatan Ampana Tete Kabupaten Tojo Una-una dilaksanakan bulan Januari-Maret 2010. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dan observasi dimana lokasi penelitian ditentukan berdasarkan informasi yang diperoleh Dinas Pertanian, Perkebunan, Peternakan, dan Kesehatan Hewan Kabupaten Tojo Una-una. Pengamatan dilakukan berdasarkan karakter morfologi tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, panjang daun, lebar daun, umur bebunga, lebar daun, panjang tongkol, lilit tongkol tanpa biji, lilit tongkol dengan biji, panjang tangkai tongkol, jumlah biji per tongkol, jumlah baris biji per tongkol, jumlah biji per baris, panjang baris biji per tongkol, bobot biji per tongkol, bobot biji dan tongkol, bobot tongkol, bobot 100 biji, dan warna biji.  Analisis dilanjutkan dengan menggunakan analisis cluster program software SYSTAT 8.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan karakter morfologi yang diamati  berdasarkan analisis cluster yang digambarkan dengan dendrogram kecamatan terlihat antar desa menghasilkan tiga kelompok kultivar yang memiliki hubungan kekerabatan, masing-masing diwakili oleh sampel UB01 dari desa Uebone, KJ02 dan KJ04 dari desa Kajulangko yang merupakan kultivar terpilih di Kecamatan Ampana Tete.

Abstract

In order for children to have good moral and avoid violations of moral transgression, there needs to be coaching early moral value to the children in the family. The family environment is a place where children are raised and are the first to live by a child in their life, so that what the children see and feel in the family will be able to influence the growth and development of a child?s soul. In order for the child to have good moral then the first step we must keep to our children has so that the children have strong faith. The process of building the values of the faith to be implanted to children can be started from birth to adulthood. When born is introduced a good sentence or can we say the sentence Toyibah, then after they grow and develop into children, then the first we must do is the values of religion related to the faith so that the child believes in the presence of God and can know God with his confidence. Along with that, children are guided by the moral value itself such as a good-spoken way of good dress, such as the values of honesty you eat a simple live koi fish, patience and others. Moreover, in order that children have good moral values also in the family, especially between mother and father must maintain the harmony of relations between the two is to be a example and his children.

Abstract

The main obstacle frequently encountered by farmers of red onions in farming business is a lack of high quality seedling sources causing many farmers had to grow on low quality seeds. Therefore, the production resulted was very low and the seeds were very small. Technology of seed production and storage are expected to supply quality seeds when required in enormous amount. The research aims at determining the effect of varieties and length of storage time on viability and vigor of onion seeds. The research employed a randomized block design with two factorial experiment. The first factor was red onion variety consisting of Lembah Palu variety and Palasa variety.  The second factor was the length of storage time consisting of three levels: 20 days, 40 days and 60 days. Water content and seed loss of the red onions stored depended on the varieties and the length of storage time. The water content of the Lembah  Palu and Palasa varieties stored for 60 days was 74-76 %,  yet the weight loss of the Lembah  Palu variety was about >50% larger than that of the Palasa variety which was only about >35%. Germinating capacity of both varieties after 60 days storage was better (> 85 %). Vigor of the Palasa seeds were higher than that of the Lembah Palu seeds.

Abstract

The research aims were to determine the cocoa seed vigor of various storage periods and seed invigorant viewed from aspect of seed physiology quality. This research was a two factorial experiment in a completely randomized design. The first factor was the time length of storage consisted of 5 levels: i) Control, ii) 2 week, iii) 4 weeks, iv) 6 weeks, and v) 8 weeks. The second factor was seed invigoration using ZPT consisted of 4 types: i) without ZPT, ii). 0.01 mmol GA3, iii) 0.01 mmol GA3 + 0.1 mmol NAA, and iv) coconut milk. The data obtained was analyzed using variant analysis; the data with coefficient of variation more than 20 % was transformed to x + 0.5 whereas treatment with significant influence was advanced with HSD test with level of 0.05. The research findings showed that a longer period of seed storage led to the reduction of seed vigor. Invigoration with GA3 + NAA also contributed to a better seed vigor though it was not significantly different from GA3 invigoration and coconut milk. All seed invigoration treatment (GA3 + NAA and coconut milk) could slow seed deterioration up to 6 week storage.

Abstract

Data in 2012 explained that Indonesia had dry land about 148 million ha (78%) and wetland by 40.20 million ha (22%) out of 188.20 million ha of the total land area. The variety of rice which can grow and produce well on marginal land such as gogo rice is very indispensable. This research aimed to find the gogo rice cultivars that can germinate normally in particular osmotic pressure and the tolerance limit on the drought by using PEG 6000 solution. The research was prepared with two-factor factorial design by using Completely Randomized Design. The first factor consisted of three gogo rice cultivars, namely 1. siang, 2. Pulut ko, and 3. roda, while the second factor consisted of four treatments, namely 1. water as control of 2. -1 bar, 3. -2 bar, and 4. -3 bar.Thus, there were 12 combinations of treatment in which each treatment was repeated four times. In the experiment Rolled Paper placed in plastic test method was used in which there were 50 items in each experiment unit.The variable observed was potential for growth, percentage of germination, and germination rate. The research findings reveal that the three cultivars were able to germinate normally only up to -1 bar osmotic pressure, while the pulut cultivar had higher germination capacity compared with siang and roda cultivars up to -3 bar PEG 6000 osmotic pressure. Siang cultivar and -1 bar osmotic pressure gave potential for growth, germination capacity, and germination rate.
