Abstract

MANA YANG LEBIH BAIK EKSPERIMEN ATAU SIMULASI PHET PADA GERAK HARMONIK AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui mana yang lebik baik antara keterlaksanaan pembelajaran pendekatan saintifik kelas yang menggunakan hand on berupa media KIT dengan simulasi PhET dan peningkatan hasil belajar kognitif siswa diantara kedua kelas tersebut pada getaran harmonis. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah quasi-experiment dengan desain randomized pretest-posttest comparison group. Populasi penelitian adalah kelas X MIA di MAN Cimahi. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas X MIA 1 yang menggunakan hand on berupa media KIT dan kelas X MIA 3 yang menggunakan simulasi PhET. Sampel dipilih dengan teknik random sampling dengan jumlah siswa masing-masing 35 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran pendekatan saintifik dan peningkatan hasil belajar kognitif siswa di kelas yang menggunakan hand on berupa media KIT lebih baik dibandingkan simulasi PhET. Hal ini dapat disimpulkan pembelajaran pendekatan saintifik yang menggunakan hand on berupa media KIT lebih baik dibandingkan simulasi PhET.dalam pelaksanaan maupun dalam meningkatkan hasil kognitif siswa pada getaran harmonis. Dengan demikian, penggunaan media KIT dan simulasi PhET dapat diimplementasikan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa pada topik fisika lainnya.AbstractThis study aims to determine which is better between the implementation of classroom scientific approach that uses hand-on in the form of KIT media with PhET simulations and improvement of students' cognitive learning outcomes between the two classes on harmonic oscillation. The method used in this study is a quasi-experiment with a randomized pretest-posttest comparison group design. The study population is class X MIA at MAN Cimahi. The sample of the research is class X MIA 1 students who use hand on KIT media and class X MIA 3 using PhET simulations. Samples were selected by random sampling technique with 35 students each. The results showed the implementation of the scientific approach to learning and the improvement of cognitive learning outcomes of students in the classroom using hand-on in the form of KIT media is better than the PhET simulation. It can be concluded that learning a scientific approach that uses hand-on in the form of KIT media is better than a PhET simulation. Both in implementation and in improving students' cognitive outcomes in harmonic oscillation. Thus, the use of KIT media and PhET simulations can be implemented to improve student cognitive learning outcomes on other physics topics.

Abstract

Doppler effect is physical phenomena which the emitted frequency is a source of change at a time when accepted by the detector due to relative movement of the detector towards the source of the wave or vice versa. In this research, conducted an activity measurement against Doppler effect symptoms by utilizing sensors found in smartphones. In this experiment, all mechanical instrument used is a smartphone with the help of software frequency sound generator, physics toolbox, the camera as an instrument of data collectors and software Tracker as motion analyzer. Based on the results of the experiment retrieved the value of the error and standard deviation of each of the observed symptoms. Symptoms affect Doppler upon source moving closer and away when the silent observer error value of 0.04% and% with a standard deviation of 0.1185 0.018 and 1.005. Experiment effect Doppler upon the source and observer approaching stationary gives error value of 8.60% and standard deviation 13.501 and to experiment the effect upon the source and Doppler observers moving each other approaching the error value of 4.31% and standard deviation of 0.087. Overall this experiment generates error value 3.267% and standard deviation of 3.665. So it could be inferred that the experiments conducted classified accurately and precision in effect phenomenon Doppler represents. Based on the results of this experiment the researcher recommends to carry out practical effects with the help of sensors Doppler smartphone.

Abstract

Few studies have explicitly determine the habitat of monyet boti (Macaca tonkeana) in nature reserve areas in Central Sulawesi. The outcome of this research is to give basic information concerning the conservation and captivation of Macaca tonkeana as an endemic and endangered animal in Sulawesi. Here in, we reported upon the results of the habitat of Macaca tonkeana in protection forest area, Sangginora village, Poso Pesisir Selatan district, Poso, Central Sulawesi.The study was conducted on March through May 2014. Five sample plots were made by the size of 20 x 20 m. Ploting was done by purposive sampling method. Hence vegetation date were analysed to determine the density, frequency, dominant, and Importance Value Index. The results showed that there were 40 plant species comprising 25 families in this area. Four plants species were used by Macaca tonkeana as food sources. The highest important value index (IVI) was achieved by Ficus sp (45,43%), while the lowest Important value index was achieved by Melochia umbellate and Rapanea spec (6,75%). Nunu (Ficus sp) is an important source of food, especially the fruit, parts of the plant are eaten fruit and leaves. Further more, the abiotic condition of the habitat including; temperature (24ºC-27ºC) and relative humidity (69%-72%) and located at 747 m asl.   Keywords: Habitat, Macaca tonkeana, Protection forest, Important Value Index.

Abstract

Scientific literacy is the ability to use scientific knowledge, identify problems, and draw conclusions based on evidence, in order to understand and make decisions about nature and changes that occur in nature as a result of human activity. This study aims to determine the development of physics teacher candidates’ scientific literacy. This is important to prepare the physics teachers in the future. The method used was ex-post facto. The subjects of this research were all students of physics education Department of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung from the first to the last semester. The data collection used was essayed tests which contained the context of science, the content of science, the process of science, and the attitude of science. Data analysis was done qualitatively and quantitatively. Based on the results of this study, it indicates that the scientific literacy ability possessed by physics teacher candidate students experiencing a continuous development in terms of the context of science, science content, the process of science, and attitude to science. The result of this research may be applied by the Physics Department to make a decision or rule on how to improve the physics student’ literacy level

Abstract

Non timber forest products are potential assets to generate foreign exchange. One type of plants that has a trade prospect is rattan. The method used belt transects. The size of the plots is 10 m x 100 m along 1000 m. The result showed that there were three types of rattan, namely Batang Rattan (Calamus zollingeri Becc), Ronti Rattan (Calamus axillaris Becc) and Tohiti Rattan (Calamus inops Becc, ex. Heyne). The density was based on the length of the rattan stems: the length <3 m (133 stems/ha), between 3-5 m (58 stems/ha) and> 5 m (146 stems/ha). The highest potential of rattan at all regeneration levels is dominated by Batang rattan (Calamus zollingeri Becc) of seedling level 93.13%, and 122 stems/ha, 87.93% and 51 stems/ha and adult 68.49% and 100 stems/ha. The type of rattan at all levels of natural regeneration was dominated by Batang rattan (Calamus zollingeri Becc) with Import Value Index (INP) of 184.04%, weaning rate of 178.84%, and adult rate of 151.82%. In the type of Ronti Rattan (Calamus axillaris Becc), the seedling level had an Important Value Index (INP) of 15.96%, weaning rate of 21.16% and an adult rate of 39.16%. While the rattan species that had the lowest Importance Index Score (INP) was the lowest in all natural regeneration classes. That was Ronti Rattan (Calamus inops Becc ex Heyne) with Important Value Index (INP) of seedling and weaning rates absent and at adult level with Important Value Index (INP) of 9.02%.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the implementation of learning using Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning model (POGIL) and the influence of application of POGIL learning model to the critical thinking skills of students. The method used in this research was pre-experimental design, with the one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample of this research was class X MIA E which amounted to 36 people selected by using simple random sampling technique. The results showing the average of all teacher activity of meetings was 88.88% and 87.04% for the students' activities were in the very good category. In addition, there was an increase in the critical thinking skills of students on the static fluid concept of 0.61 which was included in the medium category. Thus, POGIL learning model can be used as an alternative in improving students' critical thinking skills on the static fluid concept. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata seluruh pertemuan aktivitas guru sebesar 88,88% dan aktivitas peserta didik 87,04% yang termasuk pada kategori sangat baik. Selain itu, terdapat peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada materi fluida statis sebesar 0,61 yang termasuk pada kategori sedang. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran POGIL dapat dijadikan sebagai alternatif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada materi fluida statis. Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of cooperative learning models using type Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFAE) and the improvement of students' critical-thinking skills in momentum and impulses topic. We use pre-experiment design, with the one-group pretest-posttest. The population of this study was class X MIA YAS Bandung with the sample of class X MIA 2 amounted to 30 students selected by random technique. We use the observation sheet as the instrument to observe the implementation of teacher and student activities during the cooperative learning model type SFAE. The essay tests are used to measure the improvement of students' critical-thinking skills. The results of the study showed that the implementation of teacher activities was 81% and student activities by 77% in the good category. Increasing students' critical-thinking skills is the medium category with an average normalized gain value of 0.63. Based on the results of hypothesis testing using the paired sample t-test, it was obtained t-count (34.08) &gt; t-table (2.052) which means that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. It was concluded that there was an increase in students' critical-thinking skills after applying the SFAE type cooperative learning model to the material of momentum and impulse. Thus, this learning model of type SFAE can be used to improve students' higher-order thinking skills.

Abstract

Private forest is a concept of forest management that places society as the main sector in maintaining and using forest function, while the government has role as facilitator that supports the farmers community. The management and the development of  private forest in Sintuwu village Palolo subdistrict is a collaboration of Forestry and Plantation Department of Sigi District. The research was conducted for three months, began on April  up to the month of June 2015, located in Sintuwu village Palolo subdistrict Sigi district.  The research aimed to find out of how the process of Private Forest Management was done by the society. Data gathering was done by observing and interviewing with questionnaire. The data gathered analized descriptively. The result of the research showed that the management program of the private forest that made by Forestry and Plantation by full involvement of farmers community of Sintuwu village that established, and based on the result of interviewing the respondents of the farmers community who said that less attention from Forestry and Plantation Department then the Private Forest management was done individually without any coordination. All farmers community did the private forest management that included infrastructure, planting area management, planting, maintaining and supervising by their own ways without monitoring by the government, therefore at the end of the planting the plant, it was ignored for them less of information and no coordination of  the Forestry and Plantation Department about the next step that should be done in relation to the Private Forest management itself.Keywords: Institution, Society and Government, Private Forest

Abstract

AbstractRigid object equilibrium is a material that needs well rule and process aplication viewed from tranlation and rotation concept. This phenomenon related to material aplication was much found in daily life. This material instruction requires the development of Saintific Process Skills (SPS). Based on the observation result in MAN Cisewu, this material was considered difficult for the student. The teacher taught the material with mathematical formulas wihthout practicing the saintific process. One of the efforts to solve the problem by using model Context Based Learning (CBL). CBL connects content and contex. It helps the students to be more creative informing concept individually and improves the saintific process skills. Through one grup pretest-posttest design in pre experiment method, the research aims finding out the use of CBL model by using observation sheet and improving students’ saintific process skills measured by multiple choices. The result shows percentage of teacher activity 87,00% (good) and students 85,22% (good). The improvement of students’ saintific process skills showed 0,58% (medium) for N-gain means. The indicator of saintific process skills communicate of the lowest N-Gain (0,06) and the highest N-Gain (0,73) apperead on the indicator of interpretation. Hyphothetical test showed by Wilcoxon match pairs, it is found that Zcount (5,70) &gt; Ztable (1,69). It can be concluded that Context Based Learning can improve saintific process skills of students in material rigid object equilibrium.Keywords: CBL, SPS, rigid object equilibrium AbstrakKeseimbangan benda tegar merupakan materi yang memerlukan penerapan aturan dan proses baik ditinjau dari konsep tranlasi maupun rotasi. Fenomena dan aplikasi yang berkaitan dengan materi ini banyak ditemukan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari Pembelajaran materi ini menuntut pengembangan Keterampilan Proses Sains (KPS). Berdasarkan hasil observasi di MAN Cisewu materi ini dianggap sulit bagi siswa. Guru mengajarkannya dengan cara perumusan matematis dan kurang melatihkan proses sains. Salah satu upaya untuk mengatasinya dengan menerapkan model Context Based Learning (CBL). CBL menghubungkan konten dengan konteks, dapat membantu siswa kreatif dalam membentuk sebuah konsep secara mandiri dan meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains. Melalui metode pre-eksperimen dengan desain one-group pretest-posttest, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterlaksanaan model CBL yang diamati dengan menggunakan lembar observasi dan peningkatan keterampilan proses sains siswa yang diukur menggunakan soal pilihan ganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persentase keterlaksanaan aktivitas guru 87,00% (baik) dan siswa 85,22% (baik). Peningkatan keterampilan proses sains siswa diperoleh rata-rata nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,58 (sedang). Indikator keterampilan proses sains mengkomunikasikan memperoleh N-Gain terendah (0,06) dan N-Gain tertinggi (0,73) pada indikator menafsirkan. Hasil uji hipotesis menggunakan uji Wilcoxon match pairs diperoleh Zhitung (5,70) &gt; Ztabel (1,69). Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa model Context Based Learning dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa pada materi keseimbangan benda tegar.Kata-kata kunci: CBL, KPS, keseimbangan benda tegar

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan keefektifan metode hermeneutik  dalam pembelajaran apresiasi puisi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Soppeng Riaja Kabupaten Barru. Penelitian ini digolongkan ke dalam penelitian eksperimen. Populasi penelitian ini adalah keseluruhan siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Soppeng Riaja Kabupaten Barru yang berjumlah 160 orang yang terbagi ke dalam empat kelas.  Penarikan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purpose random sampling, artinya penentuan sampel dilakukan secara sengaja dengan jumlah yang representatif pada kelas penelitian. Hal ini didasarkan atas pertimbangan keterbatasan waktu, tenaga, dana, dan karakteristik penelitian. Sampel penelitian ditetapkan kelas VIII-2 berjumlah 40 orang sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VIII-4 sebanyak 40 orang sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik yang digunakan mengumpulkan data penelitian adalah teknik tes. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik statistik inferensial statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa  jika guru menerapkan metode hermeneutik, maka  pembelajaran apresiasi puisi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Soppeng Riaja Kabupaten Barru meningkat. Hal ini tampak berdasarkan temuan bahwa metode hermeneutik  efektif diterapkan dalam pembelajaran apresiasi puisi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Soppeng Riaja Kabupaten Barru. Hal ini tampak pula pada nilai yang diperoleh siswa, yakni kemampuan siswa pada kelas kontrol belum memadai dengan tingkat ketuntasan hanya mencapai 57,5% yang mampu memperoleh nilai 70 ke atas. Hal ini berbeda dengan kemampuan siswa meningkat pada kelas eksperimen dengan  kategori mampu dengan tingkat ketuntasan mencapai 92,5% yang memperoleh nilai 70 ke atas. Keefektifan strategi ini diketahui pula berdasarkan hasil perhitungan nilai t (tes signifikansi untuk desain 2). Perbandingan hasil kemampuan kelas kontrol dan eksperimen menunjukkan bahwa nilai t hitung sebanyak 4,29> nilai t tabel 2,02. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis penelitian yang diajukan diterima, yaitu metode hermeneutik  efektif diterapkan dalam pembelajaran apresiasi puisi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Soppeng Riaja Kabupaten Barru (H1).Kata kunci: metode hermeneutik, apresiasi, puisi AbstracThis study was aimed to describe the effectiveness of teaching methods in hermeneutic appreciation of poetry eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Soppeng Riaja Barru . This research was classified into experimental research. The population of this study was overall eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Soppeng Riaja Barru totaling 160 people, divided into four classes. Sampling in this study was used the technique of random sampling purpose, meaning that sampling was done deliberately by the number of the class representative on the study. It was based on the consideration of the limitations of time, effort, money, and study characteristics . The research sample was set of class VIII - 2 of 40 students as a class experiment and VIII - 4 as many as 40 students as the control class. The techniques used to collect research data was a test technique. The data obtained were analyzed by using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics inferential statistics . The results showed that when teachers use hermeneutics method, the appreciation of poetry teaching eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Soppeng Riaja Barru increased. This was evident by the finding that effective hermeneutic method applied in the teaching poetry appreciation eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Soppeng Riaja Barru . It also appeared on the values obtained by the student, the students ability to control the class was not sufficient to achieve the level of mastery only 57.5 % were able to obtain a score of 70 and above. This was in contrast with the ability of the students increased in the experimental class with category were able to achieve 92.5 % completeness level who scored 70 and above. The effectiveness of this strategy in mind also based on the calculation of the value of t ( test of significance for the design of 2 ) . Comparison of the results of the control and experimental class capabilities was  indicated that as many as 4.29 t value > t table value of 2.02 . This was suggested that the hypothesis of the proposed research was accepted , the hermeneutic method effectively applied in learning poetry appreciation eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Soppeng Riaja Barru ( H1 ) .Key word: Hermeneutic method, appreciation, poetry
