Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini mengangkat tema mengenai Lesson Study. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di SMP Lab Unesa. Peserta yang hadir sebanyak 10 orang guru bidang studi, Kepala Sekolah, dan Wakil Kepala Sekolah. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini terbagi menjadi tiga bagian. Bagian pertama (tahap PLAN) dilaksanakan pada tanggal 22 s.d 25 September 2014 dengan agenda kegiatan pemaparan materi pelatihan: Lesson study, pendekatan saintifik dan kurikulum 2013, pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran dan sistem penilaian kurikulum 2013, dilanjutkan dengan workshop pengembangan perangkat, reviu perangkat dan revisi perangkat pembelajaran. Bagian kedua (tahap DO), dilaksanakan pada tanggal 29 September 2014, dengan agenda kegiatan pelaksanaan pembelajaran Matematika menggunakan perangkat pembelajaran yang sudah direvisi. Bagian ketiga (tahap SEE) dilaksanakan pada tanggal 30 September 2014 dengan agenda kegiatan refleksi kegiatan pembelajaran, untuk melihat kelebihan dan kelemahan pembelajaran yang dilakukan oleh guru model.

Abstract

This research is analyzing associative meanings in Lorde?s selected songs lyric. The aimed of this study is to find out the types and the functions of associative meanings in Lorde?s selected songs lyric. This research used descriptive qualitative research approach and a major theory of associative meaning from Leech?s (1985) theory. In this research, the researcher gathered the data by collecting, marking and describing words, phrases, and sentences in the song?s lyric from two albums that contained associative meaning such as connotative meaning, social meaning, affective meaning, reflected meaning, and collocative meaning. Then, the researcher analyzed the data by classifying words, phrases, and sentences that contained types and function of associative meanings which referred to Leech?s (1985) theory, then explained the finding, and the last formulated research conclusion based on data finding and analysis. The result of this research showed that there were sixty-nine data of associative meaning as well as their functions in ten songs lyric of Lorde. There were seven data of connotative meaning, thirty-five data of social meanings, eleven data of affective meaning, eleven data of reflected meaning, and five data of collocative meanings. The dominant type of associative meaning that used in Lorde?s songs lyric is social meaning in which the lyrics used informal languages such as idioms, slangs, and colloquials.

Abstract

This study has aims to describe the profile of junior high school students’ Thinking in Solving math problems. The subjects of this research are three students of high, medium and low in mathematical ability. Thinking profile of students described as follows: Understanding the problem, students received information by reading problems, then they recalled, processed, and stored information. Devising a plan, students processed, stored, and recalled information. Carrying out the plan, students recalled, processed, and stored information. Looking back, students stored information by performing a repletion of steps looking back.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the types of difficulties and factors causing the undergraduate students of Mathematics Education to have difficulty to understand materials of 2nd Calculus. This research is descriptive research with quantitative and qualitative approach. The research instruments used were tests and interview guides. The data analysis techniques consisted of three stages, namely: data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The results of his research are the types of difficulties faced by students of S1 Mathematics Education in understanding 2nd Calculus  lecture material, namely: Difficulties in the stage of understanding, Difficulties in the transformation phase, Difficulties in the process skills stage, Difficulties at the stage of writing answers / solutions and the factors that caused by intellectual factors, namely: students do not understand the integral concept of substitution, Students do not understand the concept of trigonometric comparisons, students do not understand how to make an integral substitution example and do the substitution substitution into an integral form whose solution is to be sought, students do not understand about decomposition in trigonometry and do not understand which one decomposes and which one decreases, students do not know the formulas commonly used in trigonometry.

Abstract

This study is motivated by students' low relational thinking ability. Relational thinking is one of the interesting problems in mathematics education. In this study will be examined the ability of relational thinking field-dependent and independent students in solving the arithmetic word problem. The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive. This research was conducted on 7th-grade of junior school students of Surabaya. The subjects of this study were 1 student who had a field-independent cognitive style and 1 student who had a field-dependent cognitive style. The data of the students' relational thinking process is obtained through the results of solving arithmetic word problem and interviews. Subject selection is done using instrument group embedded figures test. The results of the research showed that students with cognitive field-dependent experiences had difficulties in thinking and have not been able to establish the relationship between information elements and previous knowledge to solve problems. Whereas students with independent field cognitive styles were capable of relational thinking, namely by building interrelationships between elements of information and prior knowledge and knowledge of the properties of structure to solve problems.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the algebraic reasoning of students with logical-mathematical Intelligence and visual-spatial Intelligence  in solving algebraic problems. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The subjects of this study were students of eighth grade students of junior high school totaling 35 students. The results of the research data were analyzed by describing the algebraic reasoning of students with logical-mathematical Intelligence  and students with visual-spatial Intelligence  on each of the defined indicators. Data collection techniques are carried out by tests, observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the student with logical-mathematical Intelligence  and visual-spatial Intelligence  in pattern seeking indicators, were able to identify, represent what was known and asked in the problem and find the constituent elements of the pattern. In the pattern recognition indicator students with logical-mathematical Intelligence  find a relationship between elements and the similarity of the relationship of each element by thinking about it and accompanied by logical reasons. Students with visual-spatial Intelligence  find a relationship between elements and the similarity of relations between each element by conducting experiments by writing down each process completely. In the generalization indicator, students with logical-mathematical Intelligence  and students with visual-spatial Intelligence  are able to model the situation or problem given and solve it correctly, and they are able to find a general rule that can be used to solve problems.

Abstract

This qualitative research aims to describe profile high order thinking  skill (HOTS) of Junior high school students? grade 8 in solving linear equation system problems based on kinesthetic and visual learning styles. In collecting data, mathematics ability test and learning style questionnaire aims to select students to be research subjects. Then, problem solving tests to determine the high order thinking skills and interviews were used to obtain data on students' high order thinking skills that were not obtained from problem solving tests. There are 3 (three) aspects of HOTS in this study which are analyzing, evaluating and creating. The results of the study show that in the aspect of analyzing, students with kinesthetic and visual learning styles can distinguish the information needed, know what is sought and know the relationship between information. In creating aspect, kinesthetic and visual aspects can know ideas, strategies used and can implement these ideas and strategies in solving problems. Whereas in the Evaluation aspect, kinesthetic uses a strategy in checking the truth in the answer but the visual does not use the strategy. Thus, it can be concluded that the differences of kinesthetic students and visual students lay on strategies used in checking the truth of the answers of the problem given.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan pengembangan media pembelajaran dan menghasilkan media pembelajaran berbasis android yang berkualitas baik pada materi permutasi dan kombinasi kelas XII SMA, serta mendeskripsikan keefektifannya. Subjek penelitian untuk kelas uji coba adalah 5 siswa kelas XII dan 30 siswa kelas XI dengan 15 siswa kelas implementasi dan 15 siswa kelas nonimplementasi. Media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini adalah media pembelajaran berbasis android untuk pembelajaran permutasi dan kombinasi. Media pembelajaran dikembangkan menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE. Berdasarkan hasil analisis deskriptif diperoleh bahwa media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan berkualitas baik karena memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif. Berdasarkan analisis deskriptif pada tahap implementasi media pembelajaran berbasis android merupakan media pembelajaran yang efektif karena hasil tes peningkatan pemahaman siswa tuntas secara klasikal, serta terdapat perbedaan signifikan dengan siswa yang tidak menggunakan media pembelajaran.The aim of the research was describing the development of instructional media and producing good quality Android-based learning media on permutation and combination material of class XII high school, as well as describing the effectiveness. The research subjects for the pilot class were 5 students of class XII and 30 students of class XI with 15 students in the implementation class and 15 students in the non-implementation class. The Instructional media developed in this study are android-based instructional media for permutation and combination learning. Instructional media are developed using the ADDIE. Based on the results of descriptive analysis, it is found that the instrutional media developed are of good quality because they meet valid, practical, and effective criteria. Based on descriptive analysis at the implementation stage, android-based instructional media are effective because the test results of increasing students' understanding of classical completeness, and there are significant differences with students who do not use instructional media.
