Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk berupa media pembelajaran Chemistry Board (ChemBo) yang layak digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran IPA pada materi zat adiktif dan psikotropika. Bentuk penelitian yang digunakan ialah penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D). Terdapat tujuh tahap dalam model pengembangan ini yaitu penelitian pendahuluan, melakukan perencanaan, mendesain produk awal, uji coba lapangan awal, revisi produk awal, uji coba lapangan utama dan revisi produk akhir. Penilaian kelayakan ditinjau dari segi kegrafikan, kebahasaan dan materi. Subyek penelitian yaitu siswa SMP Negeri di Kota Pontianak dengan peringkat sekolah tinggi, sedang dan rendah untuk dilakukan uji coba lapangan terhadap respon pengguna produk. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kelayakan dan tingkat  respon pengguna berturut-turut sebesar 85,60% dan 87,9%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa media Chemistry Board (ChemBo) sangat layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPA-kimia materi zat adiktif dan psikotropika. Kata Kunci: Media, Chembo, Zat Adiktif Psikotropika. Abstract: The aim of this study was to produce a learning media called ChemBo (Chemistry Board) which is fit to be used in learning process especially in addictive and psychotropic substances of science learning material. The method of this research is Reasearch and Development (R&D). There are seven steps in this method, which are research and collecting information, planning, developing initial form of product, preliminary field testing, preliminary product revision, and the last is final field testing and final product revision. A feasibility assessment in terms of graphic side, linguistic and material. Research?s subjects were junior high school students in Pontianak with the high, moderate and low school?s ranked for conducted field trials on the product. The study results showed that the level of feasibility and level of user respectively were 85.6% and 87.9%. Based on the result, media ChemBo (Chemistry Board) was really appropriate used in addictive and psychotropic substances of science learning material. Abstract

AbstractThis research aims to determine whether there is a difference between the motivation of students' learning grade X IPA MAN 1 Pontianak on the material of electrolyte and non electrolyte solution using contextual teaching and learning model and using conventional model, whether there is difference between student learning outcomes in electrolyte and Non electrolytes using contextual teaching and learning models and using conventional models, and determine how much effect the contextual teaching and learning model of student learning outcomes. The samples in this research are the students of class X IPA1 as control class and class X IPA3 as experiment class. The result of data analysis using U-Mann Whitney test showed Asymp value. Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.038 so that Ho is rejected (Ha accepted), it indicates the difference of learning motivation of control and experiment class students. Hypothesis test of learning result using U-Mann Whitney test yield Asymp value. Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.00, so Ho is rejected, this shows the difference of the students' learning outcomes of the control class and the experimental class. Learning using contextual teaching and learning model provides an increase in learning outcome of 65.3%.Keywords: Contextual teaching and learning, learning motivation, learning result, electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solution

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kelayakan buku ajar dengan pendekatan konstruktivistik dan multirepresentasi pada materi pemisahan campuran kelas VII SMP yang dikembangkan berdasarkan hasil uji ahli (expert judgement). Penelitian ini berbentuk penelitian dan pengembangan dengan tahapan sebagai berikut: melakukan penelitian pendahuluan untuk mengumpulkan informasi, melakukan perencanaan dan mengembangkan jenis/bentuk produk awal. Subjek penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah SMP Negeri 11, SMP Negeri 10 Pontianak, dan SMP Negeri 6 Pontianak. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa angket kelayakan buku ajar. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan, persentase kelayakan rata-rata buku ajar yang dikembangkan sebesar 84.99 % ditinjau dari aspek kelayakan isi, penyajian, kebahasaan dan kegrafikan berturut-turut: 83,33%, 83,75%, 87,5%, 85,41%. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa buku ajar yang dikembangkan sangat layak digunakan sebagai bahan ajar dalam pembelajaran. Kata Kunci: buku ajar, pemisahan campuran, konstruktivistik, multirepresentasi.   Abstract : The aim of this research was to know the feasibility of mixture separation textbook based on constructivist and multiple representation for VIIth SMPN in Pontianak. The form of this research was research and development (R&D) which are consist of preliminary research and information collecting, planning, and develop preliminary form and product. Research subjects are SMPN 11 Pontianak, SMPN 10 Pontianak, and SMPN 6 Pontianak. A Sampling technique that used was purposive sampling. An instrument that is used in this research was textbook feasibility questionnaire. Results of the research shown that the average of feasibility percentage 84,99% consider from content, presentation, language, and graph feasibility respectively: 83,33%, 83,75%, 87,5%, 85,41%. Thereby, it can be concluded that the textbook which developed were very suitable to use as a learning material in learning process. Abstract

Cellulose Acetate is a material with wide range in applications. Cellulose acetate may obtain from natural resources, such as areca fiber. Polymers should have uniform molecular weight for the applications and could be modify by ultrasonic waves. Ultrasonic treatment on polymer entangled with polymer degradation. In this research, degradation kinetics of cellulose acetate in acetone had been studied. Analysis was performed by determination of intrinsic viscosity in polymer solution system.  Intrinsic viscosity was successfully obtained by fitting data using Huggins equation, indicate molecular interaction in polymer solution should not be neglected.  Increasing in sonication time reducing the intrinsic viscosities as well as molecular size in solutions.  Degradation rate constant and reaction order were obtained 5,975x10-3(g.mL-1)0,1.min-1 and 1,0616, respectively.  Kinetics model was successful to determine the degradation rates of cellulose acetate on acetone by correlation coefficient (R2) at 0,966.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian quasi eksperimen ini bertujuan untuk menentukan: 1) perbedaan hasil belajar antara siswa yang diajar dengan model Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) dengan siswa yang diajar dengan pembelajaran konvensional, 2) besar pengaruh model TAI pada materi kelarutan dan hasil kali kelarutan. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI MIA 1 (n = 27) sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI MIA 2 (n = 26) sebagai kelas kontrol. Alat pengumpul data dalam penelitian ini adalah tes hasil belajar dan wawancara. Berdasarkan analisis data menggunakan uji U-Mann Whitney diketahui bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil yang signifikan (Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,04 < 0,05) antara siswa yang diajar dengan model TAI dan siswa yang diajar dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Hasil perhitungan effect size adalah 0,55 yang berarti model TAI memberikan kontribusi pengaruh sebesar 20,88% terhadap hasil belajar siswa (tergolong sedang). Kata kunci: Team assisted individualization, hasil belajar, kelarutan dan hasil kali kelarutan. Abstract: This quasi experiment research was aimed to determine: 1) the differences in learning outcomes between students who were taught using Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) and students who were taught using conventional learning, 2) the effect of TAI model in the solubility and solubility product constants (Ksp) subject on students’ learning outcome. The samples of this research were XI MIA 1 (n=27) as experiment class and XI MIA 2 (n=26) as control class. The data collection tools were the learning outcomes test and interview guideline. The result of data analysis using the Mann-Whitney U test was shows that there was a significant difference in the results (Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.04 <0.05) between the students who were taught using TAI model and students who were taught using conventional learning. The result of the calculation of effect size was 0.55  which meant TAI model had 20.88% influence on student learning outcomes (moderate classified). Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to describe the students’ scientific work skills before and after implementing the guided inquiry model and determine whether there are differences in the scientific work skills of students on environmental pollution material. This is a pre-experimental study on seven grade students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) Babussalam Peniraman, of which 27 students took part as the research subjects. Data collection tools used were scientific work skills tests, observation sheets, and interview guidelines, while the Wilcoxon test was used to analyze scientific work skills before and after the guided inquiry model was applied. Analysis results of students’ scientific work before applying the learning model were in the less skilled category by 32% and unskilled by 68%. Meanwhile, the analysis results of the skills after implementing the guided inquiry model were in the highly-skilled, skilled and less skilled categories 33.3%, 29.2%, and 37.5% respectively. Wilcoxon test results showed that the value of Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) was 0,000, which means less than 0.05 (<0.05). In conclusion, there are differences in the scientific work skills of seven grade students of MTs Babussalam Peniraman in learning environmental pollution material before and after the guided inquiry model was applied.Keywords:   Guided Inquiry, Scientific Work Skills, and Environmental Pollution

Abstract

AbstractThe aim of this research was to improve the result of student’s learning on the eleventh science grade of SMA Negeri 5 Singkawang in colloid material through Somatic, Auditory, Visualization, Intellectualy (SAVI) learning model. The form of this research was Classroom Action Reseacrh (CAR). Subject of this research 19 students on the eleventh grade of science of  SMA Negeri 5 Singkawang. Observation sheet and test were used as instrument of research. Before using the instrument, it was tested it’s validity and realibility. The validity used Gregory test and the realibility used Alpha Chronbach formula. Based on the result of validity for each first cycle which was qualified in high category and the realibility in first cycle and second cycle were r11 =0.5215 which was in medium category and r11= 0.225 was in low category. The action in this research consisted of two cycles and serial cycles consist of four phases which are planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The research result showed that there were improvement toward students learning result by implementing SAVI learning model. The percentage of students learning result in first cycle and second cycle were 57.89% and 78.94% respectively.  Keyword: classroom action research, learning result, SAVI, colloid

Abstract

 AbstractThe aims of this research were to determine  whether there is a difference in understanding the concept of students class taught by environmental-based practice method with taught convensional  student class on the reaction rate material and determine of the influence of the use of practice method based on the understanding of the concept of students on the reaction rate material. This form of research is a quasi experiment with the design of Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample of this research is class XI IPA which is divided into two groups, the first group as the experimental class and the second group as the control class. The worksheet were used are instruments and concept comprehension test. Based on the U Mann-Whitne testwith significance level α = 5% indicates that there is a difference between understanding the concept of students taught by environment-based practice method with those taught without using environment-based practicum methods. The value of effect size  is 1.06  with high category and gave the contribution 35,54%, it means the use of environment-based practice method influence the students' concept of understanding. Abstract

Abstract The purposes of this research were to know the difference between the critical thinking skills of the students of class XI MAN 1 Pontianak which is taught using predict-observe-explain (POE) learning and is taught using conventional model and know the influence of predict-observe-explain (POE) learning model on students' critical thinking skills on colloid subjects. The form of this research is Quasi Experiment with research design "Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design". The sample of this research is the students of class XI IPA 1 as the experimental class and XI IPA 2 as the control class. The measurement technique was used is technique of data collection.. The data collecting tool of this research is critical thinking skills test in the form of essay. Statistical test result using U Mann-Whitney test with α = 0,05 obtained value Z = -4,713 with Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000 located at the acceptance area. This shows that there is a significant difference between the critical thinking skills  of the students of class XI IPA MAN 1 Pontianak taught using predict-observe-explain (POE) learning and taught using conventional model on colloid subjects. The effect of POE learning model obtained percentage of 30,23 % calculated using effect size.  Keywords: POE Model, Critical Thinking Skills, Colloid

Abstract

The research was aimed to know the feasibility and readability of the guidance of chemistry practical work that was developed in electrolite and non electrolite solution?s material. This research uses research & development (R & D) which adopted development model of Borg & Gall. The subject of this research is the guidance of chemistry practical work which the readability to the student of XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Raya is examined in the first readability test and to the students of XI IPA 1, 2, and 3 in the second readability test. The result of expert judgement shows that the guidance of chemistry practical work is really feasible to be used in learning process considered of the content, present, language, and graph feasibility are 82.40%; 84%; 91.11%; and 80%. Based on the calculation of  student response percentage to the guidance of chemistry practical work gained the result of  first readibility test is 82.62% and the second readability test is 80.04%. This shows that the readability of the guidance of chemistry practical work is categories very high. Keywords: Guidance of practical work, electrolite and non electrolite, feasibility, readability
