Abstract

Morphometry and water quality are primary data to assessing the potential of the lake.Morphometry data of lake is need in determining the lake?s layers and also determine theability to use by people. Pondok Lapan Lake is an artificial lake which located in Langkat.The purpose of this study was to determine the morphometric of aspects Pondok Lapan Lakeand determine the capacity that might be. The research was conducted from January untilMarch 2015. Data collection were performed in this research that were depth, stream flow,and around the lake are processed using ArcView. From the results, the lake morphometricaspects of wide Pondok Lapan Lake is around 63.472,78 m², the maximum length of 548,28m, 220,23 m maximum width, circumference 2.200,83 m, maximum depth of 4.15 m, with asloping bottom waters and shape of the lake bottom surface is irregular. And the capacity ofthe Pondok Lapan Lake which can be used by the public is 153.484,43 m³ of water volume,stream flow around 12.963,456 m³/day-14.111,712 m³/day, Recidance time of water about11-12 days, the brightness of the water approximately 0,965 m ? 1,056 m with a depth ofcompensation approximately 2,612 - 2,858 mKeywords : Pondok Lapan Lake, lake morphometry, lake capacity

Abstract

Makrozoobenthos can be used as bioindicators as it can determine the condition of a bodywater. This study focused on community structure of macrozoobenthos and measurement ofphysical and chemical factors. This study was conducted in January until March 2015.Macrozoobenthos retrived done using Eckman grabb, samples sorted using the Hand sorting.Samples were obtained identified in the Integrated Laboratory of USU. The highest density ofspecies found in Bithynia tentaculata were namely 48 ind / m2 was found in station I and thelowest in Campeloma decisum species were namely 6 ind / m2 was found at stations II andIV. The value of the highest diversity (H ') contained in the station III were namely 1.09 andthe lowest at station IV were namely 1.04. Habitat Similarity between stations based onphysical parameters that are most similar water chemistry contained in the station I and IIIwere namely 94%. Habitat Similarity between species are most similar to the station I and IIIwere namely 92%. Based on a Pondok Lapan lake?s LQI value categorized into pollutedwaters being were namely 3 and based on the FBI Pondok Lapan Lake?s category rather poorwaters that have were namely 6.Keywords : Pondok Lapan Lake?s, Community Structure, Macrozoobenthos

Abstract

The Siombak lake is an artificial lake that formed as a result of sanddredging activities. The Siombak lake is near with the coast and influencedby ups and downs. The purpose from this study is to known themorphometry aspects of Siombak lake and to known the condition of theSiombak lake waters. This study was conducted over three months themonth of May to July 2014 in the waters of the Siombak lake, Paya PasirWards, Medan Marelan sub district, Medan City. The methods of research indata collection of morphometry is decisive for retrieval. The dimensionalsurface measurement is done by surrounding the periphery of the lake byusing a GPS (Global Positioning System) device. The subsurfacedimensional measurement carried out by measuring the depth of the topeweight scale that helped with the small ship. In the water sampling donethree time at five stations. Based on the results obtained, the Siombak lakehas a surface area of maximum length (Lmax) 740,3 meters, maximumwidth (Wmax) 708,3 meters. The Siombak lake also have depth maximum(Zm) of about 4-5 meters at high tide and 3-4 meters at low tide. Abstract

Anchovy (Stolephorus spp.) is an abundant fishery resources in the watersof Indonesia. These fish include small pelagic fish. Until now, studies on thepopulation dynamics of anchovy is still low, especially in Belawan waters. Thisstudy aims to determine the aspects of growth and the rate of exploitation ofanchovy. Location of research conducted around Aquatic Belawan. Anchovytaken as much as 0.001% of catches depending on the abundance of each monthby taking 1-month intervals for 12 months. Analysis of data using a supportprogram Ms. Exel and software FISAT II Ver 1.1.0. The results showed that thelength of anchovy were captured during the study ranged 24.5-26.5 mm. Growthtype of anchovy is allometric positive. Factor in the range of conditions0.030396?0.318734. Alleged growth coefficient 0.890/year, maximum length(L?) 39.18 mm and the theoretical age at the time of the fish length is equal tozero (t0) is -0.60. Total mortality 4.760, mortality catching 3.199 and naturalmortality 1.560. The rate of exploitation is 0.68 who is alleged to have occurredoverexploitation. This information can be used as the basis of the managementalternative arrangements fishing season, restrictions on catches, setting the meshso that the fish remain stable.Keywords: Anchovy, Pattern Growth, Exploitation, Management.

Abstract

Galing (Cayratia trifolia L.) merupakan salah satu tumbuhan liar yang mayoritas terdapat di Asia Tenggara, termasuk Indonesia. Galing secara empiris telah banyak digunakan untuk mengobati berbagai macam penyakit. Hampir semua bagian dari tumbuhan galing dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai obat tradisional. Beberapa penelitian telah dilakukan untuk membuktikan aktivitas farmakologis dari tumbuhan galing. Abstract

The infectious of ectoparasites has a harmful impact to mangrove crabs. This study aimed to know ectoparasites that infected mangrove crabs and determine the prevalence of ectoparasites that attack mud crabs. 10 crabs / pond were randomly taken from two pounds. Identification of Crab was conducted in Laboratory of Water Resource Management, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sumatera Utara. Parasite were observed in walking foot, swimming foot, claws, carapaks and gill of the crab. The result showed that 4 ectoparasites i.e Vorticella, Epistylis, Zoothamnium and Octolasmis were found from crabs of two ponds. Vorticella, Epistylis, and Octolasmis of Bagan Percut Ujung showed a relative high prevalence of 50%, while Octolasmis of Tangkahan Lagan Showed high Prevalence of 30%.Keywords: Ectoparasit, Mangrove Crab, Prevalence

Abstract

The objective of the present study was to evaluate the Length Weight Relationship (HPB) and Condition Factors of Tor Fish (Tor spp.) in Wampu River, Langkat River, North Sumatera Province, Indonesia. The sampling was This research used Post Facto Descriptive methos at two locations Bahorok and Berkail Rivers during three months July to September 2017. The research study show that the b value of Tor tambroides and Tor soro Fishes at Bahorok and Berkail river are among 0,297 until 0,328 or allometric negative with condition factor are among 0,01 until 1,00.Keywords: Tor spp., Lenght Weight Relationship, Condition Factor and Allometric negative

Abstract

Penyediaan RTH khususnya di wilayah perkotaan harus memperhatikan fungsinya secara efektif baik dari sisi ekologis maupun sisi planologis. Posisi RTH seharusnya memiliki fungsi yang sangat penting dalam proses pembangunan suatu wilayah, bukan hanya sebagai elemen pelengkap dalam wilayah perkotaan . Kota Mempawah sebagai salah satu ibu kota kabupaten dengan pembangunan yang terus meningkat mengakibatkan kebutuhan akan ruang semakin tinggi yang berdampak langsung pada penataan lingkungan perkotaan yang kurang baik. Saat ini hampir seluruh kota besar di Indonesia termasuk Kota Mempawah belum memiliki kawasan RTH yang memadai dari segi kuantitas maupun kualitas untuk mereduksi dan bermanfaat untuk mengurangi pencemaran lingkungan dan juga berfungsi sebagai sarana interaksi sosial bagi masyarakat.Tujuan Penelitian adalah mengidentifikasi kawasan Ruang Terbuka Hijau (RTH) eksisting di Kota Mempawah, menghitung kebutuhan Ruang Terbuka Hijau (RTH) di Kota Mempawah melalui beberapa variabel dan Memetakan lokasi potensial untuk Ruang Terbuka Hijau (RTH) didasarkan pada hasil analisis kebutuhan ruang dan potensi wilayah Kota Mempawah.Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif,  metode penelitian kuantitatif dapat diartikan sebagai metode penelitian yang berlandaskan pada filsafat positivisme, digunakan untuk meneliti pada populasi atau sampel tertentu.Hasil penelitian yang didapat : Berdasarkan hasil analisis berdasarkan luasan RTH publik di Kota mempawah untuk memenuhi kebutuhan tersebut maka masih dibutuhkan lahan 5.060 Ha (19,17% dari luas wilayah Kota Mempawah). Ketersedian ruang terbuka hijau di Kota Mempawah dengan Pendekatan Ruang Terbuka berdasarkan kebutuhan oksigen dengan luasan 66,611 Ha pada Kota Mempawah dengan presentase luasan 26,17%, maka RTH publik yang telah ada pada wilayah Kota Mempawah masih jauh dari persyaratan tersebut, untuk memenuhi kebutuhan tersebut maka masih dibutuhkan lahan  47 Ha  (19,17% dari luas wilayah Kota Mempawah). Berdasarkan hasil analisis jumlah penduduk, kebutuhan RTH Kota Mempawah didapatkan 12,98 Ha, RTH publik yang telah ada pada wilayah Kota Mempawah sudah cukup dan terdapat kelebihan luasan 7 Ha. Berdasarkan Hasil Analisis SNI , Kebutuhan RTH Kota Mempawah didapatkan 14,55 Ha serta terdapat kelebihan RTH publik dengan luasan 5 Ha.  Kata Kunci : Ruang Terbuka, Publik

Abstract

Based on WHO data, in 2014  total of diabetic patient in Indonesia reach 9 million. In addition to synthetic drugs, traditional medicine widely used by diabetic patients. Research of several species from Plectranthus genus showed that Plectranthus amboinicus and P. esculentus have antidiabetic activity in rat. Therefore, it is necessary to do antidiabetic activity research and its effective dose of plants iler (Plectranthus scutellarioides (L.) R.Br) which derived from the same genus and has been used empirically as oral antidiabetic. Antidiabetic activity test conducted using white male Wistar rats which given diabetogen alloxan. Rat who had developed diabetes later given different dose of iler leaves ethanol extract and glibenclamide 0,5 mg/kgBB as a positive control. Blood glucose level was measured using amperometric method utilizing enzymatic reaction of glucose dehydrogenase which measured by glucometer. As a result, a dose of 200 mg / kg dose had the highest antidiabetic activity, followed by a dose of 300 mg / kg, the percentage decrease in relative blood glucose are 21,52% and 3,64% respectively, but a dose of 100 mg / kg didn?t have antidiabetic activity. Antidiabetic activity of 200 mg/kg dose of extract didn?t have any significant difference with glibenclamide, which has percentage decrease in relative blood glucose 21,35%.
