Abstract

Fusarium wilt disease caused by pathogenic fungus F. oxysporum f. sp. cubense is an important disease in banana plants. This research was aimed to identifiy Fusarium spp. collected from banana plants showing wilt disease based on morphology and molecular characters.  The fungi isolates obtained was further examined for its pathogenicity and distribution in various parts of banana plants.  Based on morphological characters, i.e. growth rate, total conidia, colony color, macroconidium, microconidium, and chlamydospores, F. oxysporum f. sp. cubense can be differentiated from other species of Fusarium, but not the strain. Molecular analysis using specific primers VCG 01213/16 and Foc1/Foc 2 successfully identified 13 and 7 isolates of F. oxysporum f. sp. cubense TR4 and F. oxysporum f. sp. cubense non TR4, respectively.  Analysis using universal primer ITS4/ITS5 identified 7 isolates of F. solani, 1 isolate of F. verticillioides, and 2 isolates non Fusarium.  Infection of F. oxysporum f. sp. cubense TR4 and non-TR4 were found mostly in pseudo stems, whereas F. solani and F. verticillioides dominantly colonized banana corm. Pathogenicity test showed that F. oxysporum f. sp. cubense TR4 and non-TR4 caused necrosis on corm of cv. Ambon Kuning.  Similar necrosis symptom was also observed on infection of F. solani but with less severity.

Abstract

Exploration and Characterization of Biological Agents Bacteria from Imperata cylindrica for Controlling Rigidoporus microporusWhite root disease caused by Rigidoporus microporus is an important disease in rubber plantation. This pathogen causes damage to roots, thus adversely affect plant growth and productivity of rubber plantation. Therefore controling of this pathogen is important to do. The objective of this research was to obtain biological agents bacteria from the various parts of alang-alang (Imperata cylindrica) which have inhibitory activity against the growth of R. microporus The research was conducted through exploration of biological agents from the various parts of alang-alang, antibiosis activity test, and characterization of potential isolates. Based on antibiosis activity test, seven isolates (Rph 7, Rph 8, Rph 15 Rph 17, 15, E47, and isolate 47) showed antibiosis activity against R. microporus. Suppression activity of R. microporus growth by seventh of potential isolates ranged between 26.7-58.9%. The highest inhibition was demonstrated by isolate 47 suspected leaf endophytic bacteria. Seventh of potential isolates are Gram-positive bacterial that can form spores. The biological agen’s bacterial dominated by isolates from the reeds rhizosphere. This result indicates that rhizosphere is a potentialy source in the exploration of biological agents. In addition, R. microporus is a soil-borne pathogen which colonizes the roots therefore exploration from rhizosphere samples allows obtaining potential biological agents.

Abstract

Black pepper plantation area in Lampung province (the biggest producer area within Indonesia) has decreased from time to time, which might be related to unfavourable environmental condition. The aim of this study was to assess which environmental factors are positively or negatively correlated with productivity in particular yield of two local varieties of black pepper plant (Natar 1 and Natar 2) in Lampung province.  Two observational studies were carried out in the present study i.e. phenological development and productivity of black pepper productivity in related to various environmental factors. Our results showed that productivity of two varieties were significantly affected rainfall, light intensity and micro humidity. Dry matter yield was positively correlated with rainfall, both in Natar 1 and Natar 2. It was concluded that among environmental factors affecting productivity of black pepper, rainfall intensity was the most influencing factor with a positive relationship with the productivity.Keywords: Black pepper, climate, cultivar, environment, Indonesia

Abstract

Pada penelitian sebelumnya sudah dilakukan klasifikasi kanker payudara menggunakan kombinasi dari metode Neural Network (NN) dan Association Rules (AR). Namun metode ini dinilai masih belum optimal dikarenakan hasil rata-rata akurasinya yang menunjukkan angka kurang maksimal. Metode baru diusulkan dengan maksud untuk mencari solusi lebih baik dari metode sebelumnya dalam hal rata-rata akurasi, yaitu dengan menggunakan kombinasi metode klasifikasi Neural Network dan algoritma genetika. Metode Neural Network digunakan sebagai Artificial Intelligence untuk memprediksi kanker payudara, sedangkan algoritma genetika digunakan untuk optimasi parameter Neural Network seperti jumlah hidden layer dan learning rate agar akurasi yang dihasilkan bisa lebih bagus. Selain itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan antara metode kombinasi Neural Network dan algoritma genetika dengan metode Naïve Bayesian. Metode evaluasi uji coba yang digunakan adalah metode 10 fold cross validation. Hasil uji coba 10 fold cross validation menunjukkan bahwa metode Neural Network yang optimasi parameternya menggunakan algoritma genetika menghasilkan rata-rata akurasi yang cukup tinggi yaitu 97,00%, lebih baik dari metode Naïve Bayesian yang menghasilkan rata-rata akurasi 96,24% dan juga lebih baik dari metode Neural Network dengan Association Rules yang menghasilkan rata-rata akurasi 95.6%.

Abstract

Rhizoctonia solani is one of the important pathogens that causes sheath blight disease in rice plants that are difficult to be controlled. Biological control with endophytic bacteria is a potential alternative because of its ability to live in plant tissues without causing symptoms of disease and can increase plant growth and resistance. The purpose of this study was to explore endophytic bacteria from root and stem parts from three different types of ferns, namely Salvinia molesta (water nail), Pteris ensiformis (terrestrial nail), and Drymoglossum pilosolloides (epiphytic nails) and to evaluate their potential as biological control agents against R. solani and plant growth promoters. Isolation of endophytic bacteria was grown on trypsic soy agar (TSA) and nutrient agar (NA). Bacterial isolates were purified and tested for their biosafety by hypersensitivity and hemolysis test. A total of 178 isolates of endophytic bacteria were isolated and 88 isolates showed negative reactions after hypersensitivity and hemolysis test. The isolates were tested for their antagonism activity under in vitro test against R. solani and plant growth activity. The result showed four isolates of endophytic bacteria, namely APE15, APE22, APE33, and APE35 with inhibition activity of 27% -76% in three different medium TSA, potato dextrose agar (PDA) and TSA + PDA medium. Endophytic bacteria are also able to increase rice germination up to 4.9%–48.8% and increase rice root display of 68.3% –95.4%, shoot length 53.2%–87.3%, plant fresh weight 49.07%–90.65% and plant dry weight 48.1%–87.3%. These results indicated that ferns contain several endophytic bacteria that can be cultured which have effective antimicrobial compounds, and can be used as biological control agent against R. solani and plant growth promoters.

Abstract

Facebook Apps IbuKreatif adalah sebuah aplikasi yang berjalan di atas Facebook, yang digunakan oleh para ibu rumah tangga untuk berbagi ilmu. Artikel ini memfokuskan pada pengembangan modul penggunaan data yang disimpan dalam basis data Moodle. Modul penggunaan data dari basis data Moodle digunakan untuk mempermudah aplikasi dalam melakukan kategorisasi dan pengaturan konten. Metode yang digunakan dalam pembuatan modul ini adalah dengan menyimpan data-data dari video detil dan foto detil yang diunggah oleh pengguna ke dalam basis data Moodle. Sedangkan data fisik video disimpan di dalam basis data Facebook. Hal ini dilakukan untuk mempermudah pengguna lain yang ingin mempelajari dan mengunduh video yang tersimpan pada basis data aplikasi. Modul penggunaan data dari basis data pada Moodle telah berhasil diimplementasikan dan diuji kebenaran fungsionalitasnya, dengan melakukan pengujian terhadap pengunduhan data dan kepuasan pengguna terhadap konten dari Facebook Apps IbuKreatif. Dari pengujian unduh video, jenis peramban yang digunakan tidak mempengaruhi kecepatan dari aplikasi untuk mengirimkan data kepada pengguna. Nilai kepuasan pengguna didapatkan dari hasil penyebaran formulir, didapatkan nilai 72% untuk rancangan antarmuka Facebook Apps IbuKreatif, dan 76% untuk kemudahan pengguna dalam mendapatkan informasi dari Facebook Apps IbuKreatif.

Abstract

Yellow disease caused by plant-parasitic nematodes are still a major problem on pepper production area in Bangka region. Significant yield losses occurred due to yellow disease. The objective of this research was to survey the yellow disease incidence and to study farmer’s knowledge, attitude and practices on the management of yellow disease of black pepper in Bangka district, Central Bangka and South Bangka. This study consisted of a survey of the incidence of yellow disease in the field and interviews to the farmers. The result showed that the yellow disease had infected nearly all of black pepper fields in the areas with incidence of as much as 20–60%. Almost all of the respondents reported that the yellow disease was the major disease of black pepper in Bangka region. Farmers’ level of knowledge about the causal of disease, symptoms, ecology and control methods of the yellow disease are still very limited. Various control measures have been done by farmers to combat the disease, especially by removing and burning the infected plants or by application of lime. A few farmers did not even controlling the disease. Pesticides have been used by a few farmers to control the yellow disease, but the application of pesticide does not in line with integrated pest management principles.

Abstract

The research objective was to determine the criminal liability against misleading advertising and law enforcement efforts against misleading advertising The experiment was conducted in the city of Samarinda, East Kalimantan province for 3 months. Research methods and techniques of research as follows: library research, field studies, and research papers.The results showed that: (1) the error is the principle of criminal responsibility adopted in Indonesia. Without the error on the creator himself, then it can not be criminal to him. Due to convict the perpetrator must be a mistake first. Liability which may be imposed against misleading advertising is to prove that there is an error on the sellers, advertising agencies and the media. So that they can be punished. Evidentiary difficulties faced, the necessary accountability necessary to deviate from the principle of error. With the application of the principle of accountability strict liability, vicarious liability and enterprise liability in the upcoming draft new Penal Code, then to ask the perpetrators to justice will not have problems, and (2) efforts as law enforcement against misleading advertising are: (a) implement the provisions of and sanctions that exist both in the Criminal Code and the law on Consumer Protection, (b) a sanction imposed should be firm and clear to be implemented, and (c) the Law in order to be effective, those who work as law executors should discharge their duty properly -good. They should use the law broadly. They must be interpreted uniformly and with the certainty that fixed.

Abstract

Penyakit kuning yang disebabkan oleh nematoda parasit Meloidogyne incognita dan  Radopholus similis masih menjadi penyebab utama penurunan produksi lada di Provinsi Bangka Belitung. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kelimpahan populasi bakteri endofit dan nematoda parasit pada perkebunan lada rakyat di Kabupaten Bangka Selatan dan Bangka Tengah. Penelitian meliputi survei tingkat kejadian penyakit kuning dan pengamatan populasi nematoda dan bakteri endofit pada pertanaman lada milik petani. Pengambilan sampel tanah dan akar lada berasal dari pertanaman lada yang sehat dan yang sakit atau terserang berat. Isolasi bakteri endofit dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik sterilisasi permukaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan antara populasi bakteri endofit dengan populasi nematoda parasit penyebab penyakit kuning pada tanaman lada. Kelimpahan populasi bakteri endofit pada kebun lada yang sehat lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kebun lada yang sakit. The Relationship between endophytic bacteria and yellow disease caused by parasitic-nematode on black pepper in Bangka Belitung provinceABSTRACT Yellow disease caused by parasitic nematodes (Meloidogyne incognita and Radopholus similis) is still a major constraint of black pepper production in Bangka Belitung. A study was carried out to investigate the relationship between population of endophytic bacteria and yellow disease caused by plant-parasitic nematodes on black pepper grown at districts of Bangka and Central Bangka. The study was conducted at farmers’ black pepper plantations. A number of soil and root samples was taken from healthy black pepper vines and highly infected-nematode ones. An isolation of endophytic bacteria was then done through a surface sterilization method. Results shows there was a positive correlation between the population of endophytic bacteria and yellow disease incidence rates caused by plant-parasitic nematodes on black pepper plants. The population of endophytic bacteria found in the healthy black pepper plants was higher than those of in the  infected-nematode ones.

Abstract

Penyakit kuning merupakan penyakit penting pada tanaman lada di Indonesia. Kerugian akibat serangan penyakit kuning dapat menurunkan produksi sampai 32%. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi pengaruh penggunaan agens hayati dari kelompok bakteri dan jamur endofit untuk mengendalikan penyakit kuning yang disebabkan oleh Meloidogyne incognita, Radopholus similis pada tanaman lada. Penelitian dilakukan di kebun lada petani di daerah Petaling, Bangka. Bakteri endofit yang digunakan merupakan isolat endofit yang diisolasi dari akar tanaman lada dan beberapa isolat bakteri dan jamur endofit koleksi yang potensinya telah diuji. Percobaan menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) 7 perlakuan dengan 5 ulangan. Tanaman lada percobaan berumur 15 bulan diperlakukan dengan isolat endofit (MER7, AA2, ANIC, TT2, dan TRI) dan nematisida karbofuran digunakan sebagai pembanding. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan agens hayati endofit dapat menekan kejadian penyakit kuning dan populasi nematoda di dalam akar.  Selain itu perlakuan agens hayati endofit dapat meningkatkan jumlah bunga per ruas dan bobot basah lada pada panen I. Isolat yang paling potensial adalah ANIC dan TRI (Trichoderma), yang keefektifannya sama dengan nematisida kimia karbofuran.  The Use of Endophytic Biological Agents to Control of Yellow Disease in Black PepperABSTRACT There are increasingly efforts to control the yellow disease in black pepper through application of biological agents endophytic along with the dangers of pesticide uses and awareness of environmentally friendly agriculture. The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of endophytic biological agents (bacteria and fungi) on the disease caused by nematodes of M. incognita and R. smilis. The study was conducted on the farmer garden located at Petaling, Bangka. A randomized complete block design with 7 treatments and 5 replications was used in this study.  The black peppers were treated with endophytic isolates (MER7, AA2, ANIC, TT2, TRI) and carbofuran, chemical nematicide, as control (not treated). The endophytic agents used in this study were isolated from roots of black pepper and some selected endophytic collections. The results showed that some endophytic agents were able to suppress the incidence of yellow disease and nematode populations in the roots, and increase in the number of flowers and fresh weight of  black pepper berry. The promising isolates being able to control the disease are ANIC and TRI (Trichoderma) on which their effectiveness are similar to the carbofuran.
