Abstract

This research aims to study influence of parameters of brakes components and dynamic weight on vehicle. Car of Suzuki Katana is taken as sample of a braking study. Data was procured in the mechanical engineering laboratory of Tadulako University and in the Duty Communication of District of Kayumalue in North Palu. Result of calculation indicates that oil pressure put on the brakes pw (kg/cm2), tread force of a brake pedal Q (kg) and dynamic weight of vehicle (kg) both front wheels and rear wheels weights are parameters which are significant in studying the brakes system.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam membuat silabus dan rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran (RPP) bermuatan pendidikan budaya dan karakter bangsa. Penelitian ini berjenis penelitian deskriptif dan kualitatif. Subyek penelitian meliputi semua guru kelas tinggi. Obyek penelitian kemampuan guru membuat RPP bernuansa pendidikan karakter bangsa. Sumber data dari hasil observasi terhadap guru kelas dan hasil studi dokumentasi RPP pada kelas pada kegiatan supervisi akademik. Hasil penelitian dari siklus pertama dan kedua didapatkan peningkatkan yang signifikan dalam menyusun pengembangan silabus dan rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran (RPP) bermuatan pendidikan budaya dan karakter bangsa. Di siklus I pertemuan 1 diperoleh prosentase materi ajar 60%, penentuan indikator keberhasilan 60% dan sumber belajar sebanyak 80%. Pada pertemuan ke 2 diperoleh prosentase materi ajar 80% penentuan indikator 80% dan materi ajar 80%. Pada siklus II pertemuan 1 diperoleh prosentase tujuan pembelajaran 60%, metode 60%, kegiatan 80% dan bahan ajar 80%. Pada pertemuan ke 2 diperoleh prosentase tujuan pembelajaran 90%, metode 90% . Kegiatan 100% dan materi ajar 100%. Berdasar hasil tersebut pembinaan berkelanjutan sangat meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam mengembangkan silabus dan rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran bermuatan pendidikan budaya dan karakter bangsa.

Abstract

A study has been conducted to synthesize a novel polypropylcalix[6]arene polymer using p-t-butylphenol as a starting material. It was of interest to investigate the capability of the polymer with a tunnel-like structure, as adsorbent to trap the heavy metal cation such as Cr3+. The synthesis was carried out in several steps i.e (1) formation of p-t-butylcalix[6]arene from p-t-butylphenol as a starting material, (2) treatment of p-t-butylcalix[6]arene with 4.95 equivalents of allyl bromide under  alkaline conditions to yield p-t-butyl-37,40-diallyloxy-38,39,41,42-tetra-hydroxy-calix[6]arene, and (3) polymerization of p-t-butyl-37,40-diallyloxy-38,39,41,42-tetrahydroxycalix[6]arene by treatment with concentrated sulfuric acid to yield polypropyl-calix[6]arene. The application of polypropylcalix[6]arene for trapping Cr(III) was investigated by stirring the suspension of calixarene under variation of pH, time, and adsorbent mass. IR and 1H NMR spectra, showed that two allyl groups had been incorporated to the lower rim of the p-t-butylcalix[6]arene and the polymer was obtained as brownish green crystals with the melting point of 108-110 °C. The study also showed that the polypropylcalix[6]arene was able to trap Cr(III) cation. The optimum adsorption conditions were achieved at pH 5, contact time 60 min and concentration 12 mg/l for every 0,008 g of polymer.

Abstract

Synthesis, characterization and adsorption test of poly-tetra-p-propenyl-tetrahydroxycalix[4]arene for cadmium ion had been done. The synthesis was carried out in five steps, which were (1) synthesis of p-t-butylcalix[4]arene from p-t-butylphenol, (2) debutylation of p-t-butylcalix[4]arene, (3) tetraallylation of 25, 26, 27, 28 tetrahydroxycalix[4]arene with NaH and allylbromide in dry tetrahydrofuran, (4) Claissen rearrangement of 25, 26, 27, 28-tetrapropenyloxy- calix[4]arene, and (5) polymerization of tetra-p-propenyltetrahydroxycalix[4]arene to yield poly-tetra-p-propenyltetrahydroxycalix[4]arene. Analysis of products was performed using melting point analysis, FT-IR, and 1H NMR spectrometers. The yield of polymerization was 80.35% and m.p > 380 °C. Characterization of poly-tetra-p-propenyltetrahydroxycalix[4]arene was done using SEM and SAA. Structure of poly-tetra-p-propenyltetrahydroxycalix[4]arene was sparsely porous with crosslinked netty architectures, and possessed surface area of 46.572 m2/g. The application of poly-tetra-p-propenyltetrahydroxycalix[4]arene in the adsorption of Cd(II) cation had also been conducted. Adsorption parameters investigated included medium pH and contact time as well as adsorption isotherm. The resin could be applied as a good adsorbent in the adsorption of Cd(II) metal cation. The adsorption followed Langmuir isotherm model, where the measured adsorption capacity, adsorption constant (K), and adsorption energy were 8.5933 x 10-2 mmol/g, 485 L/mmol, and 32.653 KJ/mol, respectively.

Abstract

Eugenol from the isolation of clove leaves oil had been utilized in the synthesis of 7-hydroxy-3',4'-dimethoxy-isoflavone based on deoxybenzoin intermediate. The raw material was firstly converted into methyleugenol using DMS (89.87%). Secondly, methyl eugenol was oxidized using KMnO4 to produce 3,4-dimethoxybenzyl carboxylic acid (21%). Friedel-Craft acylation of it with recorcinol produced 3,4-dimethoxybenzyl-2',4'-dihydroxyphenyl ketone (deoxybenzoin intermediate) in 78% yield. Eventually, cyclization of the intermediate with reagents of BF3.OEt2/DMF/POCl3 yielded 7-hydroxy-3',4'-isoflavone in 85% yield.

Abstract

The synthesis of 5-nitro-1,10-phenanthroline hydrate 2 derivatives from 1,10-phenanthroline monohydrate as starting material has been carried out. The 5-nitro-1,10-phenanthroline hydrate 2 was obtained through nitration reaction using H2SO4 and HNO3 as catalyst and reagent, respectively. Synthesis of (1)-N-alkyl-6-nitro- and (1)-N-benzyl-6-nitro-1,10-phenanthrolinium have been prepared using dimethyl sulphate (DMS), diethyl sulphate (DES), benzyl chloride, benzyl bromine, and benzyl iodide. The reagents of benzyl bromine, and benzyl iodide were synthesized from benzyl chloride using NaBr in ethanol absolute and NaI in acetone, respectively. The five compounds of 5-nitro-1,10-phenanthroline hydrate 2 derivatives were conducted to evaluate the in vitro antiplasmodial activity. The in vitro antiplasmodial was evaluated on strains of Plasmodium falciparum FCR-3 resistant chloroquine and D10 sensitive chloroquine. The 50% inhibition concentration (IC50) of the five compounds ranged from 2.41±1.41 to 0.07±0.01 ?M. The results showed that the (1)-N-benzyl-6-nitro-1,10-phenanthrolinium iodide had highest antiplasmodial activity.

Abstract

5-hydroxy-3',4'-dimethoxy flavone can be efficiently synthesized in two steps via the formation of 2',6'-dihydroxy-3,4-dimethoxy chalcone with good results. 2',6'-dihydroxy-3,4-dimethoxy chalcone as reactants for synthesis of flavones was prepared through Claisen-Schmidt condensation reaction between 2,6-dihydroxyacetophenones,3,4-dimethoxybenzaldehyde and solid NaOH in mortar for 15 min. The yield of the product (70%) is higher than conventional method (65%). This chalcone then oxidatively cyclized with iodine to form 5-hydroxy-3',4'-dimethoxy flavone (yield 62%). Compounds synthesized were characterized by spectroscopic (IR, 1H-NMR, and 13C-NMR).

Abstract

The objectives of research are (1) to find out whether or not there is a correlation between learning independency and welding practice achievement  at the second grade of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Nogosari Boyolali, (2) to find out whether or not there is a correlation between entrepreneurship interest and welding practice achievement at the second grade of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Nogosari Boyolali, (3) to find out whether or not there is a correlation between learning independency and entrepreneurship interest and with welding practice achievement  at the second grade of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Nogosari Boyolali. The population of research was the second grade of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Nogosari Boyolali consisting of 66 students. The sample was taken using Proportional Random Sampling. The sample size was determined using Krecjie table. The sample consisted of 56 students. Techniques of collecting data used were questionnaire and documentation. The results of research showed that: (1) there is a positive significant correlation between learning independency and welding practice achievement  at the second grade of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Nogosari Boyolali,  with p = 0.00 < 0.05, (2) there is a positive significant correlation between entrepreneurship interest and welding practice achievement  at the second grade of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Nogosari Boyolali, with p = 0.00 < 0.05, (3) there is a positive significant correlation between learning independency and entrepreneurship interest with and welding practice achievement  at the second grade of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Nogosari Boyolali, with p = 0.00 < 0.05.

Abstract

Calanone (coumarin derivate compound), isolated from Calophyllum sp. had been shown to have cytotoxic activity on leukemia L1210 cell line with IC50 = 59.40 mg/mL. Calanone presumed have anticancer activity on HeLa cervical carcinoma cell. This study was conducted to investigate the cytotoxic and apoptotic activity of calanone and its effect to p53 and p21 expression on HeLa cervical carcinoma cell. Cytotoxic assay of calanone was performed on HeLa cell line, using MTT assay. Apoptotic assay was performed on HeLa cell line incubated with calanone for 24 h, by immunofluororescence method, using fluorochromes ethidium bromide and acridine orange. Expression of p53 was examined on HeLa cell line, by PCR with p53 wild-type primer. Expression of p21 was examined on HeLa cell line, by immunohistochemistry method. 5-fluorourasil was used as positive control in cytotoxic, apoptotic assay, and p53 expression. The result showed that calanone has cytotoxic activity on HeLa cell line, with IC50 = 22.887 mg/mL, caused cytotoxicity through apoptotic mechanism, increase p53 tumor suppressor gene expression, while the p21 expression test showed a negative result.

Abstract

Male and female, basically, have the same chance as idol muttaqin person, as well as a leader in the earth, including becoming a teacher of tarekat (mursyid). Assigning female as mursyid will not reduce or break the identity of the Sufism group, on the other hand, it is a kind of glorifying and respecting to the God. However, in tasawuf culture, most of the rituals conducted by the followers often reflecting the God in the male form. This conception, then, influences the way they lead the group. The common way of practicing the leadership model finally drives into legalizing the male superiority as the mursyid rather than the female one. Because of the phenomenon, the paper is written, to explore the issues on male and female role in the Sufism, specifically, for becoming the mursyid. It is expected to be powerful and meaningful cultural analysis which is viewed from tasawuf paradigm.
