Abstract

West Southeast Maluku Regency is one of the districts in Maluku Province. This regency has several large and small islands. One of the big islands is Yamdena Island. This island has been designated by the government as a water conservation area. This area is an important area for several marine species such as turtles, dugongs, whales and dolphins and plays an important role in the ecological connectivity of waters through local governance. The purpose of this study is to describe local traditions in the management of territorial waters in the Yamdena Island conservation area. The method used is a social survey method. The approach adopted was focus group discussions and key informant interviews. The analysis used is descriptive qualitative. This research shows that some villages still apply local traditions, namely sasi teripang and kima. Another tradition is the existence of prohibitions and sanctions in the management of marine resources made orally by the village government along with traditional institutions and local organizations. This local tradition was made since ancestors and is still ongoing to this day as a form of conservation of marine resources in order to remain sustainable and sustainable.

Abstract

The management of marine resources should be managed effectively and sustainably for the welfare of the people, especially local people living in coastal areas and small islands. This study aims to assess the benefits of marine conservation areas for community welfare. The method used is case study with field survey approach through focus group discussion and then interview with key informant. The research is located in the area of ??Coastal and Small Islands Conservation (KKP3K3K) Small Island Park-Koon Island, Small Islands and Its Surrounding Waters, East Seram District, Maluku Province. The analytical method used is qualitative descriptive analysis. The results show that coastal communities living around the conservation area know that conservation areas are a prohibition zone for fishing utilization. Determination of this conservation area provides important benefits for coastal communities, especially fishermen because it can increase the catch of fishermen before the establishment of conservation areas.

Abstract

Climate change is powerful on the growth of mangrove.The adaptation to climate change is an urgent need to minimize the impact of climate change.This study attempts to assess the impact of climate change on mangrove growth and formulating a program community adaptation to climate change the ecological, economic indicators, social and cultural community. The analysis survey was conducted qualitatively and analysis image Data Lansat ETM 8. The analysis shows climate change influenced the growth mangrove. The community adaptation to be applied is giving the use of a catch environmentally friendly, diversification of fruit trees. Other alternative business the fish and seaweed and participation in supporting the government programs.The adaptation others are cooperation between the government and the community in an effort to reforestation and rehabilitision. Tradition sasi mangrove came to watch to preserve the ecosystem mangrove.

Abstract

Pembangunan wilayah pesisir berkembang dengan pesat seiring dengan pertumbuhan penduduk yang cukup tinggi akan mengancam kelangsungan kawasan dan ekosistem pesisir. Kawasan mangrove yang berada di wilayah pesisir di teluk Kotania menjadi kawasan yang mendapat tekanan secara ekologis yang sangat mempengaruhi kelestariannya. Kesadaran masyarakat pesisir sangat penting dalam upaya pelestarian kawasan mangrove. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk menganalisis kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pengelolaan kawasan mangrove secara berkesinambungan dan lestari. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian survei pada lima dusun di teluk Kotania dengan metode deskritif yang bersifat studi kasus dan pembagian persepsi atas sepuluh kategori penilaian, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi dan didukung oleh data sekunder. Deskripsi penelitian ini dengan memfokuskan pada persepsi masyarakat dalam pengelolaan kawasan mangrove teluk Kotania. Analisa data digunakan pendekatan secara deskritif kualitatif yang menggunakan rataan skor dengan rentang skala.Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa sebahagian besar masyarakat pesisir di teluk Kotania sangat setuju bahwa; 1) Kawasan mangrove di Teluk Kotania saat ini perlu/penting untuk dikelola agar dapat lestari, 2) Bentuk pengelolaan kawasan mangrove yang dilakukan harus melibatkan seluruh penduduk setempat, 3) Perlu adanya kerjasama antara pemerintah dan masyarakat setempat dalam kegiatan pengelolaan kawasan mangrove.

Abstract

Kotania bay is one of the bay sin the district of West Seram, Maluku Province which has a value of mangrove area swith high economi cutilization. Utilization of mangrove areas should be managed well by involving the public directly in the coastal zone management program. This study aims to analyze the level of participation of coastal communities in the Kotania bay in the management of mangrove areas to stay awake and sustainable. The purpose of this study is to analyze the level of community participation in the management of mangrove areas in the Kotania bay. The research design was a descriptive survey research and uses analysis of the span of a score. Data a collected by gathering primary data and secondary data. The primary data obtained from interviews with respondents who directly serve asactorsin the use of mangrove areas for livelihood. Data were analyzed using analysis of the level of participation by using a range of scales. The analysis showed that 30.7% of the public strongly supports the management of coastal mangrove areas or extremely participate in mangrove area management activities, 65.3% supports or participates in the management of mangrove areas and a small portion which 4.0% were hesitant to participate in the mangrove area management activities.

Abstract

Governance can be understood as rules applied to a wise, wise, good-value area that is embedded and followed by members of the community. The rules/traditions of this community in Maluku can be formal rules, informal rules and local traditions (sasi). Sasi is used in community-based management for both terrestrial and fishery resources and is commonly found in the Central Maluku and Southeast Maluku Islands. The purpose of this study is to describe the governance of fishery resource utilization in Kepualauan Kei Kecil in Southeast Maluku District. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method, by conducting Focus Group Discussion (FGD), research location on 14 (fourteen) ohoi (ohoi) ie Debut, Ngilngof, Selayar, Lairngangas, Watngil, Ohoidertutu, Ohoiren, Warwut, Madwaer, Teotat , Madwat, Letvuan, Ur Island, and Warbal Island. The result of the research shows that local beliefs are decreasing in the management of fishery resources, but some traditions are still done on some ohoi (ohoi) such as giving offerings to ancestors. Traditional fishing with coconut leaves is still done in some ohoi. A unique local tradition is the capture of leatherback turtles (tabob). This catching is done during the transition season and the local tradition of catching anchovies and glazed fish by using mosquito nets or baskets as well as offering offerings to the Church or Mosque at the start of a new venture. In addition, the provision of betel and areca nut to the head of the clan / soa and then taken to the place offerings / offerings appear in Ohoi Sathean.   ABSTRAK Tata kelola dapat dipahami sebagai aturan-aturan yang diterapkan pada suatu wilayah yang bersifat bijaksana, penuh kearifan, bernilai baik, yang tertanam dan diikuti oleh anggota masyarakatnya. Aturan/tradisi masyarakat ini di Maluku dapat berupa aturan formal, aturan informal dan tradisi lokal (sasi). Sasi digunakan dalam pengelolaan berbasis masyarakat untuk kedua sumberdaya darat dan perikanan dan umumnya ditemukan di Kepulauan Maluku Tengah dan Maluku Tenggara. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan tata kelola pemanfaatan sumberdaya perikanan di Kepualauan Kei Kecil di Kabupaten Maluku Tenggara. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif, dengan melakukan Focus Group Discussion (FGD), lokasi penelitian pada 14 (empat belas) ohoi (ohoi) yaitu Debut, Ngilngof, Selayar, Lairngangas, Watngil, Ohoidertutu, Ohoiren, Warwut, Madwaer, Teotat, Madwat, Letvuan, Ur Pulau, dan Pulau Warbal. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh mendeskripsikan bahwa kepercayaan lokal mulai berkurang dalam pengelolaan sumberdaya perikanan, namun beberapa tradisi masih dilakukan pada beberapa ohoi (ohoi) seperti memberikan sesajian kepada leluhur, Penangkapan ikan secara tradisional dengan daun kelapa juga masih dilakukan dibeberapa ohoi. Tradisi lokal yang unik adalah penangkapan penyu belimbing (tabob).Penangkapan ini dilakukan pada saat musim  pancaroba dan tradisi lokal penangkapan ikan teri dan ikan layang dengan menggunakan kelambu atau keranjang serta pemberian persembahan ke Gereja atau Masjid pada saat memulai usaha baru. Selain itu juga pemberian sirih dan pinang kepada kepala marga/soa dan selanjutnya dibawa ke tempat sesajian/persembahan muncul di Ohoi Sathean.
