Abstract

Watershed is the area bounded ridge where the rain water that falls on the area will be accommodated by the ridge and will be streamed through small streams to the main river. The presence of sand dredging activities in upstream watersheds Belawan can be lower water quality and abundance of micro-organisms, including plankton. This research had been conducted from April to July 2013 in Belawan Watershed Headwaters. This research used Purpossive Random Sampling methods. There were 2 stations, Station 1: Pertampilen village, District Pancur Batu as an active area of sand dredging activities, Station 2: Salam Tani village, District Pancur Batu as areas which were far away from the sand dredging activities. Sampling activities were conducted 4 times once/month. The research aimed to knew water quality and determined the abundance of plankton in Belawan Watershed Headwaters.The results showed that at the station I, there were found 19 genera of phytoplankton and 1 genera of zooplankton and at the station II, there were only found 17 genera of phytoplankton. Plankton abundance at the station I was 85, 404 ind/l and at station II was 128,684 ind/l. Water quality at the station I had passed the thresholds as water quality raw materials, such as ammonia and nitrite. Turbidity also have very high at station I. This research showed that the sand dredging activity affected the abudance of plankton in the river.Keywords: Water Quality, Sand Dredging, Plankton, River

Abstract

Black ghost fish is a fish which is good economic value, both in the national and international scope. Market demand for the black ghost fish high, so it requires an effort to fulfill consumer demand for the black ghost fish. One of the efforts is to giving stimulation with thyroxine hormone into the commercial feed which is used for the growth of the black ghost fish. This research aims to determine the optimum dose of decent used for the growth and survival of black ghost fish optimally. The tested fish used are black ghost fish size of 6 cm which is maintained in an aquarium sized 60 cm×40 cm×40 cm by 13 units with water volume 24 liters per aquarium arranged randomly. The design which is used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with doses of without treatment, 10 mg/kg, 15 mg/kg, 20 mg/kg and 25 mg/kg. The results showed that the optimum dose which is good for the growth and survival of black ghost fish is 25 mg/kg, which is 4.36 cm long growing from the initial length and weight growth of 4.96 g of initial weight.Keywords: Black Ghost, Thyroxine, Growth, Survival Rate

Abstract

The objective of this research was to study effect and correlation of physics-chemistries with density of A. femina. The method using Mark Release Recapture with 8 stations in Manik Rambung Village, Simalungun District. The result showed 2351 individuals of A. femina, consist of male 1345 individuals and female 1006 individuals. Comparison of male and female were 87% and 13%, while score of Lincoln?s indices highest calculated in twelve sampling were 451 individuals. The result of analysis correlation showed humidity given effects on population of density A. femina recapture were 0.432. Keyswords : Density, damselfly, Agriocnemis femina, rice field, Simalungun.

Abstract

Abstract - Volume of groundwater recharge showed a picture of a watershed to determine the flow instability due to the physical characteristics of the watershed and precipitation. Many methods had been constructed to understand the dynamic movement of water discharge. One of them was the analysis of the stream hydrograph with Seasonal Recession Method. Information about groundwater recharge condition at several sub watershed in Krueng Peusangan Watershed was really needed in management of watershed for sustainable water resources. The study aimed to determine groundwater recharge from stream flow with seasonal recession method was conducted in Krueng Peusangan watershed, Aceh Province, Indonesia. The results showed that the trend pattern of the stream hydrograph could be explained using the exponential function where the dots lowest discharge that is the end of the recession (y) than any period of time on stream hydrograph semi logarithmic (x). The pattern of results that occurred in the watershed of Krueng Peusangan: (A) Krueng Seumpo had a trend for y = 9.2x-0.35, (B) Simpang Jaya  for y = 559.7x-0.5, (C) Beukah village for y = 142x-0.32 , (D) Sub watershed of Lut Tawar (Wih Nareh) for y = 1.3x-0.12 and (E) Sub watershed of Teupin Mane (Krueng Teumbo) for y = 1.94x-0.42. It also showed that the location of A, B, C, E had a higher slope and a decreased recharge pattern compared to the location of D (sub watershed of  Lut Tawar)  that tended to flat. The volume of groundwater recharge that occurred in a region (A and D) increased while the other location was very volatile. Moreover, recharge instability occurred in Krueng Teumbo. Therefore, it needed a clear direction for land use and functions of forests, especially in the recharge area, in order to maintain the balance of the hydrological cycle, and the quantity of groundwater. Keywords: groundwater recharge, seasonal recession method, base flow, stream flow, water resources

Abstract

Abstrak. Tanah merupakan media tumbuh tanaman dan berperan dalam menjaga keseimbangan alam. Evaluasi kualitas dan kesuburan tanah menjadi hal penting dan merupakan pekerjaan rutin pada crop management system. Untuk memonitor dan menentukan kualitas tanah, beberapa metode telah diterapkan. Akan tetapi, metode tersebut berbasis pengukuran laboratorium yang melibatkan bahan kimia, memerlukan waktu yang lama dan kurang efektif pada aplikasinya. Infrared spectroscopy muncul sebagai salah satu teknologi yang cepat, simultan dan ramah lingkungan untuk digunakan dalam evaluasi kualitas dan kesuburan tanah dengan memprediksi nutrisi tanah yang utama berupa C, N, P dan K. Spektrum transmisi infrared (IR) diakuisisi pada panjang gelombang 1000-2500 nm dengan menerapkan metode photo-acoustic spectroscopy (PAS). Pendekatan metode Least square-support vector machine regression (LS-SVM) digunakan untuk memprediksi parameter nutrisi tanah. Hasil studi menemukan bahwa parameter C dan N pada tanah dapat diprediksi dengan sempurna karena C-N mengalami stretching akibat serapan gelombang IR. Sedangkan unsur nutrisi lain seperti P, K, Mg, Ca, S dapat diprediksi dengan maksimum residual predictive deviation (RPD) index maksimum 1.9. Lebih lanjut, lempung tanah, air tanah, dan mikroba tanah kemungkinan dapat diklasifikasi dengan baik dengan metode IR-PAS dan bantuan metode klasifikasi least-square discriminant analysis (LS-DA) dan cluster analysis (CA). Berdasarkan hasil studi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa teknologi FTIR-PAS dapat digunakan untuk real-time monitoring kualitas dan kesuburan tanah. The Application of Fourier Transform Infrared Photoacoustics Spectroscopy (FTIR-PAS) for Rapid Soil Quality Evaluation Abstract. The major function of soil is to provide fundamental natural resources for survival of plants, animals, and the human race. Soil functions depend on the balances of its structure and composition, well as the chemical, biological, and physical properties. It is become one important key aspect and routine activity in crop management system. To monitor and determine soil quality properties, several methods were already widely used in which most of them are based on solvent extraction followed by other laboratory procedures. However, these methods often require laborious and complicated processing for samples. They are time consuming and destructive. In last few decades, the application of infrared spectroscopy as non-destructive technique in determining soil quality properties (C, N, P and K) rapidly and simultaneously. Fourier transform infrared spectrum (FTIR) were acquired in wavelength range from 1000 to 2500 nm with applying photo-acoustic spectroscopy (PAS). Least square-support vector machine regression (LS-SVM) approach was then applied to predict soil quality properties. The results showed that C and N can be predicted accurately using FTIR-PAS whilst other parameters (P, K, Mg, Ca, S) can be predicted with maximum RPD index is 1.9. Moreover, soil clay, moisture and soil microbes were feasible to be detected by using FTIR-PAS combining with discriminant analysis (LS-DA) or cluster analysis (CA). It may conclude that FTIR-PAS technology can be used as a real time method  in monitoring soil quality and fertility properties.

Abstract

DAS Deli merupakan salah satu DAS kritis di propinsi Sumatera Utara yang memerlukan penanganan sebagai lokasi sasaran rehabilitasi. Mata pencaharian sebagian besar penduduk pada lahan dataran tinggi di kawasan hulu DAS Deli adalah bertani. Mereka mengolah lahan pertanian sebesar 82% terutama pada desa-desa di DAS Deli bagian hulu. Keadaan ini menimbulkan kerawanan terhadap erosi dan banjir di daerah hilirnya bila pengelolaan lahan tidak disertai dengan upaya-upaya rehabilitasi lahan dan konservasi tanah dan air. Makalah ini membahas salah satu upaya pengembangan pertanian berkelanjutan berbasis agroekologi yang perlu ditekankan dalam mempertahankan dan meningkatkan produksi pertanian. Penjabarannya mencakup 4 dimensi yaitu dimensi sosial ekonomi, sumberdaya sebagai asset produksi dalam usahatani, peningkatan peranan masyarakat, dan program aksi/implementasi yang realistis. Usaha tani berbasis agroekologi dalam pengelolaan lahan dataran tinggi yang tepat guna dan tepat sasaran dapat memberikan keuntungan ekonomi dan melindungi lahan dan lingkungan secara simultan. Dengan demikian pembangunan pertanian secara berkelanjutan dapat terwujud.

Abstract

Rivers can be used as sources of drinking water and fulfillment of daily life, is also used foraquaculture. To implement an aquaculture activities, the river waters are used as aquaculturemust meet the requirements of physical parameters, chemical parameters and biologicalparameters of water. It is necessary to study the quality of the waters to determine thepotential for development of aquaculture in River Keureuto. To determine the quality of thewaters of the River Keureuto for aquaculture activities is by comparing the quality of thewaters of the River Keureuto that have been studied with the quality standard PP. No. 822001 with storet method. This study was conducted in March-May 2015 in Keureuto River.The method used is purposive sampling method. Samples were taken at 3 stations. Physicaland chemical parameters river waters keureto based Quality Standard PP. Abstract

Fish increasing in aquaculture production requires the fulfillment of the need toaccelerate the productivity. Transgenesis technology with the introduction of transgenes(PhGH) can be performed to produce the fish that grow faster and has better performance.Transgene detection was performed using the PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) method andelectrophoresis using seed of transgenic catfish F-3. Furthermore, the observation of theperformance of catfish transgenic F-3 by measuring the rate of fertilization (the number offertilized eggs / total eggs), hatchability rate (the number of hatched eggs / number offertilized eggs), the survival rate (the number of early fish / amount of fish end), theperformance of growth (weight average transgenic F-3 / weight average non-transgenic) andfeed efficiency (absolute growth rate / daily feed intake). Results indicate that thetransmission rate ranged from 5-75% with an average transmission in the female transgenikF-2 by 2.5% (15/600) and 14.4% (75/520) in the male transgenik F-2. Weight growth rate of1.7 fold compared with non-transgenic. F-3 transgenic catfish has a degree of fertilization0.37% smaller and has a hatching 4% higher than the non-transgenic. Abstract

Filsafat ilmu merupakan salah satu cabang ilmu dari Ilmu filsafat yang secara khusus meletakkan ilmu sebagai objek material. Filsafat dan Ilmu adalah dua kata yang saling berkaitan baik secara substansial maupun historis. Kelahiran suatu ilmu tidak dapat dipisahkan dari peranan filsafat, sedangkan perkembangan ilmu memperkuat keberadaan filsafat. Hal ini berlaku bagi semua ilmu keduniaan, termasuk studi informatika. Ilmu computer sendiri sangat berkembang sehingga di dalamnya terdapat beberapa bidang ilmu yang secara spesifik dapat di dalami dan di fahami seperti misalnya Data Mining, Cloud Computing dan lain-lain. Penelitian ini mengupas tentang pemikiran dan pendapat dari beberapa literature antaran kaitan filsafat ilmu komputer dan Cloud Computing. Abstract

This descriptive correlation research analyze the role of youth in handling poverty in the northern part of Medan (Medan Marelan, Medan Deli, Medan Labuhan, and Medan Belawan Subdistricts). The objective of the resesarch was to analyze the role of youth and its influence on handling poverty in the northern part of Medan. The Research used quantitative survey method. The Population was 167,629 people and 96 of them were used as the samples. The results of the research showed that the role of youth in handling poverty in the northern part of Medan was positive, and as leadership, enterprenuership, and pioneering simultaneously had positive influence on poverty in the aspect of welfare. Partially, the variables of leadership and entrepreneurship had positive and significant influence on handling poverty in the aspect of welfare, While pioneering had positive but insignificant influence on handling poverty in the aspect of welfare.
